Study the property of $W^{\prime}$ at future $e^-p$ collider

As a strong candidate for new physics beyond the Standard Model, the exotic charged gauge boson $W^{\prime}$ has attracted extensive research interest. In this work we investigate the interactions of the $W^{\prime}$ boson at the electron-proton colliders. The process $e^- u \to ν_e d$ and $e^- u \to e^\pm jjj$ with $t$-channel $W^{\prime}$ exchange are studied. The polarization of the initial-state electrons has a significant impact on the cross section of the studied process, while the angular distribution of the final-state leptons serves as an important observable for the interactions of the $W^{\prime}$ boson. In some specific regions of the parameter space, the detectable mass range for the $W^{\prime}$ boson can reach around 10 TeV, and the coupling strength can achieve a precision of approximately 1\% relative to the interaction strength of the Standard Model. Especially, $e^- u \to e^+ jjj$ process is forbidden within the Standard Model, which would constitute important evidence in the search for the Left-Right Symmetric Model.

Phenomenology of Heavy Neutral Gauge Boson at Muon Collider

Heavy neutral gauge boson $Z^\prime$ is proposed in many new physics models. It has rich phenomena at the future muon collider. We study the properties of $Z^\prime$ boson with the process of $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow q \bar{q}$, $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow l^+ l^-$, $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow Z H$ and $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow W^+ W^-$. The discrepancy of $Z^\prime$ coupling to different types of particles can be shown in the cross section distributions around the resonance peak of various decay modes. Angular distributions of the final quark or lepton in $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow q \bar{q}/l^+ l^- $ process are sensitive to the parameters such as mass of $Z^\prime$ and the $Z-Z^\prime$ mixing angle. The interaction of new gauge boson coupling to the standard model gauge particles and Higgs boson are also studied through $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow Z H \rightarrow l^+l^- b \bar{b}$ and $μ^+ μ^- \rightarrow W^+W^- \rightarrow l^+l^- ν_l \barν_l$. The cross section and the final particles' angular distributions with the contribution of $Z^\prime$ boson differ from those processes with only standard model particles. A forward-backward asymmetry defined by the angular distribution is provided to show the potential of searching for new physics at the muon collider. Especially, the beam polarization with certain value can effectively enlarge the forward-backward asymmetry.

Same-Sign Tetralepton Signature in Type-II Seesaw at Lepton Colliders

The same-sign tetralepton signature via mixing of neutral Higgs bosons and their cascade decays to charged Higgs bosons is a unique signal in the type-II seesaw model. In this paper, we study this signature at future lepton colliders, such as ILC, CLIC, and MuC. Constrained by direct search, $H^{\pm\pm}\to W^\pm W^\pm$ is the only viable decay mode for $M_{A^0}=400$ GeV at $\sqrt{s}=1$ TeV ILC. With an integrated luminosity of $\mathcal{L}=8~ \mathrm{ab}^{-1}$, the promising region with about 150 signal events corresponds to a narrow band in the range of $10^{-4}~\text{GeV}\lesssim v_Δ\lesssim10^{-2}$ GeV. For heavier triplet scalars $M_{A^0}\gtrsim 900$ GeV, although the $H^{\pm\pm}\to \ell^\pm \ell^\pm$ decay mode is allowed, the cascade decays are suppressed. A maximum event number $\sim 16$ can be obtained around $v_Δ\sim4\times10^{-4}$ GeV and $λ_4\sim0.26$ for $M_{A^0}=1000$ GeV with $\mathcal{L}=5~ \mathrm{ab}^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s}=3$ TeV CLIC. Meanwhile, we find that this signature is not promising for $M_{A^0}=1500$ GeV at $\sqrt{s}=6$ TeV MuC.

$U(1)_{B-3L_α}$ Extended Scotogenic Models and Single-zero Textures of Neutrino Mass Matrices

In this paper, we propose a scotogenic model of neutrino masses with flavor-dependent $U(1)_{B-3L_α}(α=e, μ, τ)$ gauge symmetry, in which neutrinos are generated at one-loop level and a fermion dark matter is naturally accommodated. In this model, three one-zero-texture structures of neutrino mass matrix, denoted as patterns A, B and C, are successfully realized by appropriate charge assignment for inert fermions and scalar fields. For each predicted textures, a detailed numerical analysis is carried out to find the allowed regions of neutrino mixing and masses. We find three scenarios (A for normal mass hierarchy, and B and C for inverted mass hierarchy) favored by the latest data of neutrino oscillation experiments and Planck 2018 limit on the sum of neutrino masses. Other phenomenologies such as lepton flavor violation, dark matter and collider signatures are also discussed.

Leptogenesis and Dark Matter from Low Scale Seesaw

In this paper, we perform a detail analysis on leptogenesis and dark matter form low scale seesaw. In the framework of $ν$2HDM, we further introduce one scalar singlet $ϕ$ and one Dirac fermion singlet $χ$, which are charged under a $Z_2$ symmetry. Assuming the coupling of $χ$ is extremely small, it serves as a FIMP dark matter. The heavy right hand neutrinos $N$ provide a common origin for tiny neutrino mass (via seesaw mechanism), leptogenesis (via $N\to \ell_L Φ_ν^*,\bar{\ell}_L Φ_ν$) and dark matter (via $N\to χϕ$). With hierarchical right hand neutrino masses, the explicit calculation shows that success thermal leptogenesis is viable even for TeV scale $N_1$ with $0.4 \lesssim v_ν\lesssim1$ GeV and lightest neutrino mass $m_1\lesssim 10^{-11}$ eV. In such scenario, light FIMP dark matter in the keV to MeV range is naturally expected. The common parameter space for neutrino mass, natural leptogenesis and FIMP DM is also obtained in this paper.

Global $U(1)_{L}$ Breaking in Neutrinophilic 2HDM: From LHC Signatures to X-Ray Line

Lepton number violation plays an essential role in many scenarios of neutrino mass generation and also provides new clues to search new physics beyond the standard model. We consider the neutrinophilic two-Higgs-doublet model ($ν$-2HDM) where additional right-handed neutral fermions $N_{Ri}$ and a complex singlet scalar $σ$ are also involved. In scalar sector, the global $U(1)_{L}$ symmetry is spontaneous broken, leading to Nambu-Goldstone boson, the Majoron $J$, accompanied by the Majorana neutrino mass generation. We find that the massless Majoron will induce large invisible Higgs decay, and current experiments have already set constraints on relevant parameters. For the first time, we point out that the $ν$-2HDM with $N_{Ri}$ can be distinguished from other seesaw by the same sign tri-lepton signature $3\ell^\pm4j+\cancel{E}_T$. More interesting, for $\mathcal{O}(\keV)$ scale Majoron, it is a good candidate of decaying dark matter to interpret the $3.5\keV$ and $511\keV$ line excesses.

Interpretation of 750 GeV Diphoton Excess at LHC in Singlet Extension of Color-octet Neutrino Mass Model

We propose that the possible 750 GeV diphoton excess can be explained in the color-octet neutrino mass model extended with a scalar singlet $Φ$. The model generally contains $N_s$ species of color-octet, electroweak doublet scalars $S$ and $N_f$ species of color-octet, electroweak triplet $χ$ or singlet $ρ$ fermions. While both scalars and fermions contribute to the production of $Φ$ through gluon fusion, only the charged members induce the diphoton decay of $Φ$. The diphoton rate can be significantly enhanced due to interference between the scalar and fermion loops. We show that the diphoton cross section can be from 3 to 10 fb for O(TeV) color-octet particles while evading all current LHC limits.

Radiative Neutrino Mass with $Z_3$ Dark matter: From Relic Density to LHC Signatures

In this work we give a comprehensive analysis on the phenomenology of a specific $\mathbb{Z}_3$ dark matter (DM) model in which neutrino mass is induced at two loops by interactions with a DM particle that can be a complex scalar or a Dirac fermion. Both the DM properties in relic density and direct detection and the LHC signatures are examined in great detail, and indirect detection for gamma-ray excess from the Galactic Center is also discussed briefly. On the DM side, both semi-annihilation and co-annihilation processes play a crucial role in alleviating the tension of parameter space between relic density and direct detection. On the collider side, new decay channels resulting from $\mathbb{Z}_3$ particles lead to distinct signals at LHC. Currently the trilepton signal is expected to give the most stringent bound for both scalar and fermion DM candidates, and the signatures of fermion DM are very similar to those of electroweakinos in simplified supersymmetric models.

Testing Type II Radiative Seesaw Model: from Dark Matter Detection to LHC Signatures

We analyse the testability of the type II radiative seesaw in which neutrino mass and dark matter (DM) are related at one-loop level. Under the constraints from DM relic density, direct and indirect detection, and invisible Higgs decays, we find three possible regions of DM mass $M_{s_1}$ that can survive the present and even the future experiments: (1) the Higgs resonance region with $M_{s_1}\sim M_h/2$, (2) the Higgs region with $M_{s_1}\sim M_h$, and (3) the coannihilation region with $M_{s_2}\sim M_{s_1}$. Here $s_{1,2}$ are two scalar singlets with the lighter $s_1$ being the DM candidate. Based on DM properties and direct collider constraints, we choose three benchmark points to illustrate the testability of this model at LHC. We perform a detailed simulation of the four-lepton and tri-lepton signatures at 13 (14) TeV LHC. While both signatures are found to be promising at all benchmark points, the tri-lepton one is even better: it is possible to reach the $5σ$ significance with an integrated luminosity of 100/fb.

LHC Phenomenology of the Type II Seesaw Mechanism: Observability of Neutral Scalars in the Nondegenerate Case

This is a sequel to our previous work on LHC phenomenology of the type II seesaw model in the nondegenerate case. In this work, we further study the pair and associated production of the neutral scalars H^0/A^0. We restrict ourselves to the so-called negative scenario characterized by the mass order M_{H^{\pm\pm}}>M_{H^\pm}>M_{H^0/A^0}, in which the H^0/A^0 production receives significant enhancement from cascade decays of the charged scalars H^{\pm\pm},~H^\pm. We consider three important signal channels---b\bar{b}γγ, b\bar{b}τ^+τ^-, $b\bar{b}\ell^+\ell^-\cancel{E}_T$---and perform detailed simulations. We find that at the 14 TeV LHC with an integrated luminosity of 3000/fb, a 5σmass reach of 151, 150, and 180 GeV, respectively, is possible in the three channels from the pure Drell-Yan H^0A^0 production, while the cascade-decay-enhanced H^0/A^0 production can push the mass limit further to 164, 177, and 200 GeV. The neutral scalars in the negative scenario are thus accessible at LHC run II.

LHC Phenomenology of Type II Seesaw: Nondegenerate Case

In this paper, we thoroughly investigate the LHC phenomenology of the type II seesaw mechanism for neutrino masses in the nondegenerate case where the triplet scalars of various charge ($H^{\pm\pm}, H^\pm, H^0, A^0$) have different masses. Compared with the degenerate case, the cascade decays of scalars lead to many new, interesting signal channels. In the positive scenario where $M_{H^{\pm\pm}}<M_{H^\pm}<M_{H^0/A^0}$, the four-lepton signal is still the most promising discovery channel for the doubly-charged scalars $H^{\pm\pm}$. The five-lepton signal is crucial to probe the mass spectrum of the scalars, for which, for example, a $5σ$ reach at 14 TeV LHC for $M_{H^{\pm}}=430 GeV$ with $M_{H^{\pm\pm}}=400 GeV$ requires an integrated luminosity of 76/fb. And the six-lepton signal can be used to probe the neutral scalars $H^0/A^0$, which are usually hard to detect in the degenerate case. In the negative scenario where $M_{H^{\pm\pm}}>M_{H^\pm}>M_{H^0/A^0}$, the detection of $H^{\pm\pm}$ is more challenging, when the cascade decay $H^{\pm\pm}\to H^{\pm}W^{\pm*}$ is dominant. The most important channel is the associated $H^{\pm}H^0/A^0$ production in the final state $\ell^\pm\cancel{E}_Tb\bar{b}b\bar{b}$, which requires a luminosity of 109/fb for a $5σ$ discovery, while the final state $\ell^\pm\cancel{E}_Tb\bar{b}τ^+τ^-$ is less promising. Moreover, the associated $H^0A^0$ production can give same signals as the standard model Higgs pair production. With a much larger cross section, the $H^0A^0$ production in the final state $b\bar{b}τ^+τ^-$ could reach $3σ$ significance at 14 TeV LHC with a luminosity of 300/fb. In summary, with an integrated luminosity of order 500/fb, the triplet scalars can be fully reconstructed at 14 TeV LHC in the negative scenario.

Radiative Linear Seesaw model, Dark Matter and $U(1)_{B-L}$

In this paper we propose a radiated linear seesaw model where the naturally small term $μ_{L}$ are generated at one-loop level and its soft-breaking of lepton number symmetry attributes to the spontaneous breaking(SSB) of B-L gauge symmetry. The value of $B-L$ charges for new particles are assigned to satisfy the anomalies cancelation. It is founded that some new particles may have exotic values of $B-L$ charge such that there exists residual $Z_{2}\times Z_{2}^{\prime}$ symmetry even after SSB of $B-L$ gauge symmetry. The $Z_{2}\times Z_{2}^{\prime}$ discrete symmetry stabilizes the these particles as dark matter candidates. In the model, two classes of inert fermions and scalars with different $B-L$ charges are introduced, leading to two-component dark matter candidates. The lepton flavor violation processes, the relic density of dark matter, the direct detection of dark matter and the phenomenology at LHC are investigated.

Phenomenology in Minimal Cascade Seesaw for Neutrino Mass

We make a comprehensive analysis on the phenomenology in the minimal version of cascade seesaw for tiny neutrino mass. The seesaw induces at tree level a neutrino mass operator at dimension nine, by introducing a quadruple scalar $Φ$ of hypercharge unity and a quintuple fermion $Σ$ of hypercharge zero. We work in a framework that handles the complicated Yukawa couplings in a nice way without losing generality. All mixing matrices are essentially expressed in terms of the vacuum expectation value of the quadruple scalar v_Φ, a free complex parameter, and known neutrino parameters. We show that the low-energy lepton flavor violating transitions of the charged leptons set strong constraints on the free parameters. The constraints have a significant impact on collider physics, and are incorporated in our signal analysis at the LHC. We investigate the signatures of new particles by surveying all potentially important channels. We find that the 4j2\ell^\pm signal is most important for the detection of the scalars and the 2\ell^{\pm}2\ell^{\mp}2j, 3\ell^{\pm}\ell^{\mp}2j and 3\ell^{\pm}2\ell^{\mp}+\cancel{E_T} signals are quite promising for the fermions.
