A Survey of Video-based Action Quality Assessment

Human action recognition and analysis have great demand and important application significance in video surveillance, video retrieval, and human-computer interaction. The task of human action quality evaluation requires the intelligent system to automatically and objectively evaluate the action completed by the human. The action quality assessment model can reduce the human and material resources spent in action evaluation and reduce subjectivity. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive survey of existing papers on video-based action quality assessment. Different from human action recognition, the application scenario of action quality assessment is relatively narrow. Most of the existing work focuses on sports and medical care. We first introduce the definition and challenges of human action quality assessment. Then we present the existing datasets and evaluation metrics. In addition, we summarized the methods of sports and medical care according to the model categories and publishing institutions according to the characteristics of the two fields. At the end, combined with recent work, the promising development direction in action quality assessment is discussed.

Doubly-charmed baryon production in ZZ boson decay

In this paper, we carry out a detailed study of doubly-charmed baryon production in ZZ boson decay, on the basis of the nonrelativistic QCD factorization. With the inclusion of the di-quark states (cc)[3S1]3ˉ(cc)[^3S_1]_{\bar{\textbf{3}}} and (cc)[1S0]6(cc)[^1S_0]_{\textbf{6}}, the branching ratio of BZ→Ξcc+X\mathcal{B}_{Z \to Ξ_{cc}+X} is predicted to be of the 10−510^{-5} order, indicating its experimental measurability. By comparing to the Λc+Λ^{+}_{c} yield in ZZ decay, we predict RΞcc+(=Γ(Z→Ξcc+)×B(Ξcc+→Λc+K−π+)Γ(Z→Λc+))=(0.85−0.07+0.10)×10−4\mathcal{R}_{Ξ_{cc}^{+}}(=\frac{Γ(Z \to Ξ^{+}_{cc}) \times \mathcal{B}(Ξ^{+}_{cc} \to Λ_c^{+}K^{-}π^{+})}{Γ(Z \to Λ_c^{+})})=(0.85^{+0.10}_{-0.07}) \times 10^{-4} and RΞcc++(=Γ(Z→Ξcc++)×B(Ξcc++→Λc+K−π+π+)Γ(Z→Λc+))=(1.70−0.14+0.20)×10−4\mathcal{R}_{Ξ_{cc}^{++}}(=\frac{Γ(Z \to Ξ^{++}_{cc}) \times \mathcal{B}(Ξ^{++}_{cc} \to Λ_c^{+}K^{-}π^{+}π^{+})}{Γ(Z \to Λ_c^{+})})=(1.70^{+0.20}_{-0.14}) \times 10^{-4}, which are at clear variance with the SELEX measurements but comparable with the values given by the LHCb and Belle collaborations.

Impact of Z→ηc,b+g+gZ \to η_{c,b}+g+g on the inclusive ηc,bη_{c,b} meson yield in ZZ-boson decay

In this paper, we carry out the next-to-leading-order QCD corrections to Z→ηQ+g+g (Q=c,b)Z \to η_Q+g+g~(Q=c,b) (labeled as gggg) through the color-singlet (CS) state of QQˉ[1S0[1]]Q\bar{Q}[^1S_0^{[1]}], with the aim of assessing the impact of this process on ZZ bosons decaying into inclusive ηQη_Q. We find that the QCD corrections to the gggg process can notably enhance its leading-order results, especially for the ηcη_c case, which would then greatly increase the existing predictions of ΓZ→ηQ+XΓ_{Z \to η_Q+X} given by the CS-dominant process Z→ηQ[1S0[1]]+Q+QˉZ \to η_{Q}[^1S_0^{[1]}]+Q+\bar{Q}. Moreover, with these significant QCD corrections, the gggg process would exert crucial influence on the CS-predicted ηQη_Q energy distributions. In conclusion, in the CS studies of Z→ηQ+XZ \to η_Q+X, besides Z→ηQ[1S0[1]]+Q+QˉZ \to η_{Q}[^1S_0^{[1]}]+Q+\bar{Q}, Z→ηQ[1S0[1]]+g+gZ \to η_Q[^1S_0^{[1]}]+g+g can provide phenomenologically indispensable contributions as well.

ΥΥ electroproduction at HERA, EIC, and LHeC within the nonrelativistic QCD framework

Based on the nonrelativistic QCD framework, we study the ΥΥ production in semi-inclusive deep inelastic electron-proton scattering (SIDIS) at HERA, EIC, and LHeC, with the main aim of assessing the viability of observing ΥΥ electroproduction at the three colliders. The color-octet (CO) contributions are found to have a crucial effect on both the integrated and differential cross sections, serving to further establish the significance of the CO mechanism. By setting the kinematic cuts to pt,Υ⋆2>1 GeV2p_{t,Υ}^{\star 2}>1~\textrm{GeV}^{2}, W>50W>50 GeV, 2<Q2<100 GeV22<Q^2<100~\textrm{GeV}^2, and 0.3<z<0.90.3<z<0.9, only a few electroproduced ΥΥ events can be generated at HERA, partially accounting for its lack of measured ΥΥ electroproduction. However, under the same cut conditions, the EIC and LHeC can accumulate about 8.7×1028.7\times10^{2} and 3.7×1043.7\times10^{4} reconstructed ΥΥ events in one operation year, respectively, which manifestly indicates the prospect of detecting the ΥΥ-related SIDIS processes at the two forthcoming ep(eA)ep(eA) colliders.

The production of the doubly charmed baryon in deeply inelastic epep scattering at the Large Hadron Electron Collider

In this paper, we carry out a detailed study on the production of the doubly charmed baryon in deeply inelastic epep scattering (DIS) for Q2∈[2,100] GeV2Q^2\in[2, 100]~\textrm{GeV}^2, at the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC) with Ee=60(140)E_e=60(140) GeV and Ep=7000E_p=7000 GeV. To exclude the contributions from the diffractive productions and the bb hadron decays, we impose the kinematic cuts 0.3<z<0.90.3<z<0.9, and pt,baryon⋆2>1 GeV2p_{t,\textrm{baryon}}^{\star2}>1~\textrm{GeV}^2 in the center-of-mass (CM) frame of γ∗pγ^{*}p. Based on the designed LHeC luminosity, by detecting the decay channel Ξcc+(Ξcc++)→Λc+Ξ^{+}_{cc}(Ξ^{++}_{cc}) \to Λ_c^{+} with the subsequent decay Λc+→pK−π+Λ_c^{+} \to pK^{-}π^{+}, we predict that about 1880 (2700) Ξcc+Ξ^{+}_{cc} events and 3750 (5400) Ξcc++Ξ^{++}_{cc} events can be accumulated per year, which signifies the prospect of observing them via the DIS at the forthcoming LHeC. In addition, we also predict the distributions of a rich variety of physical observables in the laboratory frame and the γ∗pγ^{*}p CM frame, including Q2Q^2, pt2p_t^{2}, YY(rapidity), pt⋆2p_t^{\star2}, Y⋆Y^{\star}, WW, and zz distributions, respectively, which can provide helpful references for studying the doubly charmed baryon. In conclusion, we think that in addition to the LHC, the LHeC is also a helpful platform for studying the properties of the doubly charmed baryon.

The studies on Z→Υ(1S)+g+gZ \to Υ(1S)+g+g at the next-to-leading-order QCD accuracy

In this paper, we carry out the next-to-leading-order (NLO) studies on Z→Υ(1S)+g+gZ \to Υ(1S)+g+g via the color-singlet (CS) bbˉb\bar{b} state. We find the newly calculated NLO QCD corrections to this process can significantly influence its leading-order (LO) results, and greatly improve the dependence on the renormalization scale. By including the considerable feeddown contributions, the branching ratio BZ→Υ(1S)+g+g\mathcal{B}_{Z \to Υ(1S)+g+g} is predicted to be (0.56∼0.95)×10−6(0.56 \sim 0.95)\times 10^{-6}, which can reach up to 19%∼31%19\% \sim 31\% of the LO predictions given by the CS dominant process Z→Υ(1S)+b+bˉZ \to Υ(1S)+b+\bar{b}. Moreover, Z→Υ(1S)+g+gZ \to Υ(1S)+g+g also seriously affect the CS predictions on the Υ(1S)Υ(1S) energy distributions, especially when zz is relatively small. In summary, for the inclusive Υ(1S)Υ(1S) productions in ZZ decay, besides Z→Υ(1S)+b+bˉZ \to Υ(1S)+b+\bar{b}, the gluon radiation process Z→Υ(1S)+g+gZ \to Υ(1S)+g+g can provide indispensable contributions as well.

ηcη_c production associated with light hadrons at the B-factories and the future super B-factories

We present a complete study of the associated production of the ηcη_c meson with light hadrons in e+e−e^+e^- collisions at the B-factory energy, which is demonstrated to be one of the best laboratories for testing the colour-octet (CO) mechanism. The colour-siglet contributions are evaluated up to O(α2αs3)O(α^2α_s^3) while the CO ones are evaluated up to O(α2αs2)O(α^2α_s^2). For the first time, the angular distribution of the 1S0[8]^1S_0^{[8]} production is studied at QCD next-to-leading order. We find that the 1S0[8]^1S_0^{[8]} channel dominate the total cross section, while the 1P1[8]^1P_1^{[8]} one exhibit its importance in the angular distribution, which turns out to be downward going with respect to cosθ\mathrm{cos}θ. This can be considered as the most distinct signal for the CO mechanism.

The prompt J/ψJ/ψ production in Association with a ccˉc\bar{c} Pair within the Framework of Non-relativistic QCD via photon-photon collision at the International Linear Collider

We present a systematical study on the prompt J/ψJ/ψ production in association with a ccˉc\bar{c} pair via the process, γγ→H(ccˉ)+c+cˉγγ\to H(c\bar{c}) +c+\bar{c}, within the framework of non-relativistic QCD at the future high-energy e+e−e^{+}e^{-} collider - International Linear Collider (ILC), including both direct and feed-down contributions. For direct J/ψJ/ψ production, the states with color-octet channels, especially the 3PJ[8]^3P_J^{[8]} and 1S0[8]^1S_0^{[8]} ones, provide dominant contribution to the production cross-section, which are about fifty-two times over that of the color-singlet one. This is clearly shown by the transverse momentum (ptp_t) and rapidity distributions. The feed-down contribution from ψ′ψ' and χcJχ_{cJ} (J=0,1,2J=0,1,2) is sizable, which is about 20%20\% to the total prompt cross-section. Besides the yields, we also calculate the J/ψJ/ψ polarization parameter λλ. In small ptp_t region, the polarization of the prompt J/ψJ/ψ is longitudinal due to large contributions through the 3PJ[8]^3P_J^{[8]} channel, and becomes transverse in high ptp_t region due to 3S1[8]^3S_1^{[8]} channel. Thus the J/ψJ/ψ production via photon-photon collisions at the ILC shall provide a useful platform for testing the color-octet mechanism.

Bottomonium production associated with a photon at a high luminosity e+e−e^+e^- collider with next-to-leading order QCD corrections

We make a detailed discussion on the one-loop QCD correction to the bottomonium production associated with a photon, i.e. via the channel e+e−→γ∗/Z0→∣Hbbˉ⟩+γe^{+}e^{-} \toγ^*/Z^0 \to |H_{b\bar{b}}\rangle + γ, where ∣Hbbˉ⟩|H_{b\bar{b}}\rangle stands for the color-singlet bottomonium state as ηbη_b, ΥΥ, hbh_b or χbJχ_{bJ} (JJ=0, 1 or 2), respectively. At the super ZZ factory with the collision energy Ecm∼mZE_{cm} \sim m_Z, by summing up the cross sections for all bottomonium states, we obtain a large one-loop QCD correction, i.e. ∣R∣∼30%|R|\sim 30\%. This ensures the necessity and importance of the one-loop QCD corrections for the present processes. Further more, for the ηbη_b, hbh_b and χbJχ_{bJ} production, their cross sections are dominated by the ss-channel diagrams and are enhanced by the Z0Z^0 boson resonance effect when Ecm∼mZE_{cm}\sim m_Z. While, for the ΥΥ production, such resonance effect shall be smeared by a large t(u)t(u)-channel contribution that dominant over the ss-channel one. Theoretical uncertainties caused by slight change of EcmE_{cm}, the bb-quark mass, the renormalization scale and etc. have been presented. At the super ZZ factory with a high luminosity up to L=1036cm−2s−1{\cal L}=10^{36}{\rm cm}^{-2}{\rm s}^{-1}, the bottomonium plus one photon events are sizable, especially for ηbη_b and ΥΥ, which have large signal significance. Summing up all bottomonium states, we shall totally have ∼3.8×105\sim 3.8\times10^{5} bottomonium events in one operation year. So, the super ZZ factory shall provide a good platform for studying the bottomonium properties.

Impact of ηcη_c hadroproduction data on charmonium production and polarization within NRQCD framework

With the recent LHCb data on ηcη_c production and based on heavy quark spin symmetry, we obtain the long-distance matrix elements for both ηcη_c and J/ψJ/ψ productions, among which, the color-singlet one for ηcη_c is obtained directly by the fit of experiment for the first time. Using our long-distance matrix elements, we can provide good description of the ηcη_c and J/ψJ/ψ hadroproduction measurements. Our predictions on J/ψJ/ψ polarization are in good agreement with the LHCb data and pass through the two sets of CDF measurements in medium ptp_t region. Considering all the possible uncertainties carefully, we obtained quite narrow bands of the J/ψJ/ψ polarization curves.

Photoproduction of doubly heavy baryon at the ILC

In the present paper, we make a detailed study on the doubly heavy baryon photoproduction in the future e+e−e^+e^- International Linear Collider (ILC). The baryons ΞccΞ_{cc}, ΞbcΞ_{bc}, and ΞbbΞ_{bb} are produced via the channel γγ→ΞQQ′+Q′ˉ+Qˉγγ\to Ξ_{QQ'} +\bar{Q'} +\bar{Q}, where QQ and Q′Q' stand for heavy cc or bb quark, respectively. As for the ΞQQ′Ξ_{QQ'}-baryon production, it shall first generate a (QQ′)[n](QQ')[n]-diquark and then form the final baryon via fragmentation, where [n][n] stands for the color- and spin- configurations for the (QQ′)(QQ')-diquark states. According to the non-relativistic QCD theory, four diquark configurations shall provide sizable contributions to the baryon production, e.g., [n][n] equals [3S1]3ˉ[^3S_1]_{\bar{\textbf{3}}}, [1S0]6[^1S_0]_{\textbf{6}}, [3S1]6[^3S_1]_{\textbf{6}}, or [1S0]3ˉ[^1S_0]_{\bar{\textbf{3}}}, respectively. We adopt the improved helicity amplitude approach for the hard scattering amplitude to improve the calculation efficiency. Total and differential cross sections of those channels, as well as the theoretical uncertainties, are presented. We show that sizable amounts of baryon events can be generated at the ILC, i.e., about 2.0×1062.0\times 10^{6} ΞccΞ_{cc}, 2.2×1052.2\times 10^{5} ΞbcΞ_{bc}, as well as 3.0×103  Ξbb3.0\times 10^{3}\;Ξ_{bb} events are to be generated in one operation year for S=500\sqrt{S}=500 GeV and L≃1036{\cal L}\simeq 10^{36}cm−2^{-2}s−1^{-1}.

Photoproduction of the heavy quarkonium at the ILC

We study the photoproduction of the heavy quarkonium at the future International Linear Collider (ILC) within the nonrelativistic QCD theory. We focus on the production channel via the subprocess γγ→∣[QQ′ˉ]1(n)>+Q′+Qˉγγ\to |[Q\bar{Q'}]_{\bf 1}(n)>+Q'+\bar{Q}, where QQ and Q′Q' stand for heavy cc- or bb-quark, respectively. ∣[QQ′ˉ]1(n)>|[Q\bar{Q'}]_{\bf 1}(n)> stands for color-singlet SS-wave quarkonium, i.e., ηc(∣[ccˉ]1(1S0)>)η_{c}(|[c\bar{c}]_{\bf 1}(^1S_0)>), J/ψ(∣[ccˉ]1(3S1)>)J/ψ(|[c\bar{c}]_{\bf 1}(^3S_1)>), Bc(∣[cbˉ]1(1S0)>)B_{c}(|[c\bar{b}]_{\bf 1}(^1S_0)>), Bc∗(∣[cbˉ]1(3S1)>)B^*_{c}(|[c\bar{b}]_{\bf 1}(^3S_1)>), ηb(∣[bbˉ]1(1S0)>)η_{b}(|[b\bar{b}]_{\bf 1}(^1S_0)>), and Υ(∣[bbˉ]1(3S1)>)Υ(|[b\bar{b}]_{\bf 1}(^3S_1)>), respectively. To improve the calculation efficiency, we adopt the improved helicity amplitude approach to deal with the difficulty of calculating the expressions for the yields when the quark masses cannot be neglected. Total and differential photoproduction cross sections, together with their uncertainties, have been presented. It is noted that sizable amount of ∣ccˉ>|c\bar{c}>-charmonium and ∣cbˉ>|c\bar{b}>-quarkonium events can be generated at the ILC. More specifically, we predict (2.8−0.7+1.0)×106(2.8^{+1.0}_{-0.7})\times 10^{6} ηcη_c, (5.4−1.3+1.9)×106(5.4^{+1.9}_{-1.3})\times 10^{6} J/ψJ/ψ, (8.3−1.8+2.2)×104(8.3^{+2.2}_{-1.8})\times 10^{4} BcB_c, (4.3−0.9+1.1)×105(4.3^{+1.1}_{-0.9})\times 10^{5} Bc∗B_c^*, (9.0−1.4+1.7)×103(9.0^{+1.7}_{-1.4})\times 10^{3} ηbη_b, and (1.6±0.3)×104(1.6\pm0.3)\times 10^{4} ΥΥ events to be generated in one operation year at the ILC under the condition of S=500\sqrt{S}=500 GeV and L≃1036{\cal L}\simeq 10^{36}cm−2^{-2}s−1^{-1}.

Exclusive charmonium production from e+e−e^+ e^- annihilation round the Z0Z^0 peak

We make a comparative and comprehensive study on the charmonium exclusive productions at the e+e−e^+e^- collider with the collision energy either round the Z0Z^0-boson mass for a super ZZ factory or equals to 10.6 GeV for the BB factories as Belle and BABAR. We study the total cross sections for the charmonium production via the exclusive processes e+e−→γ∗/Z0→H1+H2e^+e^- \to γ^*/Z^0 \to H_{1}+H_{2} and e+e−→γ∗/Z0→H1+γe^+e^- \to γ^*/Z^0 \to H_{1} +γ, where H1H_{1} and H2H_{2} represent the dominant color-singlet SS-wave and PP-wave charmonium states respectively. Total cross sections versus the e+e−e^+e^- collision energy s\sqrt{s}, together with their uncertainties, are presented, which clearly show the relative importance of these channels. At the BB factory, the production channels via the virtual γ∗γ^* propagator are dominant over the channels via the Z0Z^0 propagator by about four orders. While, at the super ZZ factory, due to the Z0Z^0-boson resonance effect, the Z0Z^0 boson channels shall provide sizable or even dominant contributions in comparison to the channels via the γ∗γ^* propagator. Sizable exclusive charmonium events can be produced at the super ZZ factory with high luminocity up to 1036cm−2s−110^{36}{\rm cm}^{-2}{\rm s}^{-1}, especially for the channel of e+e−→Z0→H1+γe^+e^- \to Z^0 \to H_{1} +γ, e.g. by taking mc=1.50±0.20m_c=1.50\pm0.20 GeV, we shall have (5.0−0.6+0.8)×104(5.0^{+0.8}_{-0.6})\times10^4 J/ψJ/ψ, (7.5−0.9+1.1)×103(7.5^{+1.1}_{-0.9})\times10^3 ηcη_c, (6.2−1.9+3.3)×103(6.2^{+3.3}_{-1.9})\times10^3 hch_{c}, (3.1−0.9+1.7)×102(3.1^{+1.7}_{-0.9})\times10^2 χc0χ_{c0}, (2.2−0.4+1.0)×103(2.2^{+1.0}_{-0.4})\times10^3 χc1χ_{c1}, and (7.7−2.4+4.1)×102(7.7^{+4.1}_{-2.4})\times10^2 χc2χ_{c2} events by one operation year. Thus, in addition to the BB factories as BABAR and Belle, such a super ZZ factory shall provide another useful platform for studying the heavy quarkonium properties and for testing QCD theories.

Heavy Quarkonium Production through the Semi-Exclusive e+e−e^+ e^- Annihilation Channels around the Z0Z^0 Peak

Within the framework of the non-relativistic QCD, we present a detailed discussion on the heavy quarkonium production at the leading order in αsα_s at a e+e−e^+ e^- collider with the collision energy around the Z0Z^0 peak. Quarkonia are produced through the semi-exclusive channels e+e−→∣HQQˉ⟩+Xe^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow |H_{Q\bar{Q}}\rangle +X with X=QQˉX=Q\bar{Q} or gggg, where QQ indicates a heavy quark (respectively bb or cc). It is noted that in addition to the color-singlet 1S-level quarkonium states, the 2S and 1P color-singlet states and the color-octet ∣(QQˉ)[13S1(8)]g⟩|(Q\bar{Q})[1^3S_1^{({\bf 8})}]g\rangle state also provide sizable contributions. The heavy quarkonium transverse momentum and rapidity distributions for the e+e−e^+ e^- collision energy Ecm=mZE_{cm}=m_Z are presented. For both charmonium and bottomonium production via the Z0Z^0 propagator, there is approximate "spin degeneracy" between the spin-triplet and spin-singlet quarkonium states. Uncertainties for the total cross sections are estimated by taking mc=1.50±0.15m_c=1.50\pm0.15 GeV and mb=4.90±0.15m_b=4.90\pm0.15 GeV. Around Ecm=mZE_{cm}=m_{Z}, due to the Z0Z^0-boson resonance effect, total cross sections for the channels via the Z0Z^0-propagator become much larger than the channels via the virtual photon propagator. We conclude that, in addition to the BB factories as BaBar and Belle and the hadronic colliders as Tevatron and LHC, such a super ZZ-factory will present an excellent platform for studying the heavy quarkonium properties.

Next-to-leading order QCD corrections for the charmonium production via the channel e+e−→H(∣ccˉ⟩)+γe^+ e^- \to H(|c\bar{c}\rangle) + γ round the Z0Z^0 peak

In our previous work [2], it has been found that sizable charmonium events via the channel e+e−→γ∗/Z0→H(∣ccˉ⟩)+γe^+e^- \to γ^*/Z^0 \to H(|c\bar{c}\rangle) +γ can be produced at the suggested super ZZ factory, where H(∣ccˉ⟩)H(|c\bar{c}\rangle) represents the dominant color-singlet SS-wave and PP-wave charmonium states J/ψJ/ψ, ηcη_c, hch_c and χcJχ_{cJ} (J=0,1,2J=0, 1, 2), respectively. As an important step forward, in the present paper, we present a next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD analysis within the framework of nonrelativistic QCD. In different to the case of BB factory in which the single charmonium production is dominated by the channel via a virtual photon, at the super ZZ factory, its cross-section is dominated by the channel via a Z0Z^0 boson. Estimations up to NLO level are done at both the BB factory and the super ZZ factory experimental conditions. We observe that the NLO distributions have the same shapes as those of LO distributions, but their differences are sizable. This indicates that a NLO calculation is necessary and important to achieve a more accurate estimation. Due to Z0Z^0 boson resonance effect, at the super ZZ factory with a high luminosity up to 1036cm−2s−110^{36}{\rm cm}^{-2}{\rm s}^{-1}, when summing all the color-singlet states' contribution together, one may observe about 8.0×1048.0\times10^{4} charmonium events via the channel e+e−→Z0→H(∣ccˉ⟩)+γe^+e^-\to Z^0 \to H(|c\bar{c}\rangle)+γ in one operation year. Then, such super ZZ factory could provide another useful platform to study the charmonium properties, even for the higher charmonium states.

Revisiting the Bs(∗)B^{(*)}_s-Meson Production at the Hadronic Colliders

The production of heavy-flavored hadron at the hadronic colliders provides a challenging opportunity to test the validity of pQCD predictions. There are two mechanisms for the Bs(∗)B^{(*)}_s hadroproduction, i.e. the gluon-gluon fusion mechanism via the subprocess g+g→Bs(∗)+b+sˉg+g\rightarrow B^{(*)}_s+b+\bar{s} and the extrinsic heavy quark mechanism via the subprocesses g+bˉ→Bs(∗)+sˉg+\bar{b}\to B^{(*)}_s +\bar{s} and g+s→Bs(∗)+bg+s\to B^{(*)}_s +b, both of which shall have sizable contributions in proper kinematic region. Different from the fixed-flavor-number scheme (FFNS) previously adopted in the literature, we study the Bs(∗)B^{(*)}_s hadroproduction under the general-mass variable-flavor-number scheme (GM-VFNS), in which we can consistently deal with the double counting problem from the above two mechanisms. Properties for the Bs(∗)B^{(*)}_s hadroproduction are discussed. To be useful reference, a comparative study of FFNS and GM-VFNS is presented. Both of which can provide reasonable estimations for the Bs(∗)B^{(*)}_s hadroproduction. At the Tevatron, the difference between these two schemes is small, however such difference is obvious at the LHC. The forthcoming more precise data on LHC shall provide a good chance to check which scheme is more appropriate to deal with the Bs(∗)B^{(*)}_s-meson production and to further study the heavy quark components in hadrons.
