Anomaly flow by an Aharonov-Bohm phase

In gauge-Higgs unification (GHU), gauge symmetry is dynamically broken by an Aharonov-Bohm (AB) phase, $θ_H$, in the fifth dimension. We analyze $SU(2)$ GHU with an $SU(2)$ doublet fermion in flat $M^4 \times (S^1/Z_2)$ spacetime and in the Randall-Sundrum (RS) warped space. With orbifold boundary conditions the $U(1)$ part of gauge symmetry remains unbroken at $θ_H = 0$ and $π$. The fermion multiplet has chiral zero modes at $θ_H = 0$, which become massive at $θ_H = π$. In other words chiral fermions are transformed to vectorlike fermions by the AB phase $θ_H$. Chiral anomaly at $θ_H = 0$ continuously varies as $θ_H$ and vanishes at $θ_H=π$. We demonstrate this intriguing phenomenon in the RS space in which there occurs no level crossing in the mass spectrum and everything varies smoothly. The flat spacetime limit is singular as the AdS curvature of the RS space diminishes, and reproduces the result in the flat spacetime. Anomalies appear for various combinations of Kaluza-Klein excitation modes of gauge fields as well. Although the magnitude of anomalies depends on $θ_{H}$ and the warp factor of the RS space, it does not depend on the bulk mass parameter of the fermion field controlling its mass and wave function at general $θ_H$.

Bhabha scattering in the gauge-Higgs unification

We examine effects of $Z'$ bosons in gauge-Higgs unification (GHU) models at $\mathrm{e}^{+}\mathrm{e}^{-}\to \mathrm{e}^{+}\mathrm{e}^{-}$ Bhabha scatterings. We evaluate differential cross sections in Bhabha scatterings including $Z'$ bosons in two types of $\mathrm{SO}(5) \times \mathrm{U}(1) \times \mathrm{SU}(3)$ GHU models. We find that deviations of differential cross sections in the GHU models from those in the SM can be seen at $\sqrt{s} = 250\,\mathrm{GeV}$. With $80\%$-longitudinally polarized electron and $30\%$-longitudinally polarized positron beams, the left-right asymmetries in the GHU A- and B-models are resolved at more than $3\,σ$ at $L_{\rm int} =250\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. We also show that Bhabha scattering with scattering angle less than 100 mrad can be safely used as luminosity measurements in $\mathrm{e}^{+}\mathrm{e}^{-}$ colliders since the effects of $Z'$ bosons are well suppressed for small scattering angle. We propose a new observable which can be measured at future TeV-scale $\mathrm{e}^{+} \mathrm{e}^{-}$ linear colliders.

Signals of $W'$ and $Z'$ bosons at the LHC in the $SU(3) \times SO(5) \times U(1)$ gauge-Higgs unification

The $pp\to \{W, W'\} \to lν$ and $pp\to \{γ, Z, Z'\} \to l^+l^-$ ($l=e,μ$) processes in the $SU(3)_C\times SO(5)\times U(1)_X$ gauge-Higgs unification (GHU) models are studied, where $W'$ and $Z'$ bosons are Kaluza-Klein (KK) exited states of the electroweak gauge bosons. From the experimental data collected at the Large Hadron Collider, constraints on the KK mass scale and the Aharonov-Bohm phase are obtained. One can explore the KK mass scale in the GUT inspired GHU model up to 18 TeV for the luminosity 300 fb$^{-1}$ and 22 TeV for the luminosity 3000 fb$^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s}=14$ TeV.

CKM matrix and FCNC suppression in $SO(5) \times U(1) \times SU(3)$ gauge-Higgs unification

The Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) mixing matrix and flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNC's) in the quark sector are examined in the GUT inspired $SO(5) \times U(1) \times SU(3)$ gauge-Higgs unification in which the 4D Higgs boson is identified with the Aharonov-Bohm phase in the fifth dimension. Gauge invariant brane interactions play an important role for the flavor mixing in the charged-current weak interactions. The CKM matrix is reproduced except that the up quark mass needs to be larger than the observed one. FCNC's are naturally suppressed as a consequence of the gauge invariance, with a factor of order $10^{-6}$. It is also shown that induced flavor-changing Yukawa couplings are extremely small.

Fermion pair production at $e^- e^+$ linear collider experiments in GUT inspired gauge-Higgs unification

Fermion pair production at $e^-e^+$ linear collider experiments with polarized $e^-$ and $e^+$ beams is examined in the GUT inspired $SO(5)\times U(1)\times SU(3)$ gauge-Higgs unification. There arises large parity violation in the couplings of leptons and quarks to Kaluza-Klein (KK) excited neutral vector bosons $Z'$s, which leads to distinctive polarization dependence in cross sections, forward-backward asymmetries, left-right asymmetries, and left-right forward-backward asymmetries in various processes. Those effects are detectable even for the KK mass scale up to about 15 TeV at future $e^-e^+$ linear collider experiments with energies 250$\,$GeV to 1$\,$TeV.

The effective potential and universality in GUT inspired gauge-Higgs unification

The effective potential for the Aharonov-Bohm phase $θ_H$ in the fifth dimension in GUT inspired $SO(5)\times U(1) \times SU(3)$ gauge-Higgs unification is evaluated to show that dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking takes place with $θ_H \not= 0$, the 4D Higgs boson mass 125$\,$GeV being generated at the quantum level. The cubic and quartic self-couplings $(λ_3, λ_4)$ of the Higgs boson are found to satisfy universal relations, i.e. they are determined, to high accuracy, solely by $θ_H$, irrespective of values of other parameters in the model. For $θ_H=0.1$ ($0.15$), $λ_3$ and $λ_4$ are smaller than those in the standard model by 7.7% (8.1%) and 30% (32%), respectively.

A Radiative Neutrino Model with $SU(2)_L$ Triplet Fields

We propose a loop induced neutrino mass model, in which we introduce several exotic fermions and bosons with $SU(2)_L$ multiplet, and discuss various phenomenologies such as lepton flavor violations, muon anomalous magnetic moment, nonstandard interacting neutrinoless double beta decay, relic density of dark matter, and the possibility of the spin independent direct detection searches, imposing the constraints of oblique parameters. And we show a benchmark point to satisfy all the constraints and discuss our predictions.

An $SU(2)_L$ Septet Scalar Linking to Radiative Neutrino Model

We study a radiative neutrino model with a SU(2) septet scalar with hypercharge $Y=2$ where active neutrino mass is induced at a one-loop level. Calculating a one-loop diagram, mass matrices for active neutrino is derived. We also analyze lepton flavor violations, anomalous magnetic moment of muon and the flavor violating Higgs decay $h \to μτ$. Then sizable muon $g-2$ and $\sim 1 \%$ of $BR(h \to μτ)$ could be obtained in our set up. Furthermore, the collider signature of the septet is discussed where we focus on quadratically charged scalar at the LHC 14 TeV. We find that it could be discovered up to $1.5$ TeV mass by searching multi charged lepton signal events.

Classically Conformal Radiative Neutrino Model with Gauged B-L Symmetry

We discuss a classically conformal radiative neutrino model with gauged B$-$L symmetry, in which the B$-$L symmetry breaking can occur through the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism. As a result, Majorana mass term is generated and EW symmetry breaking also occurs. We show some allowed parameters to satisfy several theoretical and experimental constraints. Theoretical constraints are inert conditions and Coleman-Weinberg condition. Experimental bounds are lepton flavor violation(especially μ-> e γ), the current bound on the $Z'$ mass at LHC, in additions to the neutrino oscillations.

Confronting a New Three-loop Seesaw Model with the 750 GeV Diphoton Excess

We propose a new type of radiative neutrino model with a local hidden $U(1)$ symmetry, in which neutrino masses are induced at the three loop level, and discuss the muon anomalous magnetic moment, and dark matter candidates therein. By allowing the hypercharges larger than 3/2 for new fields that contribute to the neutrino masses and making them decay into the standard model fields appropriately, we introduce a lot of new particles with multiple electrical charges in a natural manner. As a by-product, we can accommodate the 750 GeV diphoton excess depending on the hypercharge quantum numbers of new fields responsible for the neutrino masses at the three loop level.

Higgs Phenomenology in the Minimal $SU(3)_L\times U(1)_X$ Model

We investigate the phenomenology of a model based on the $SU(3)_c\times SU(3)_L\times U(1)_X$ gauge theory, the so-called 331 model. In particular, we focus on the Higgs sector of the model which is composed of three $SU(3)_L$ triplet Higgs fields, and this corresponds to the minimal form to realize phenomenologically acceptable scenario. After the spontaneous symmetry breaking $SU(3)_L\times U(1)_X\to SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y$, our Higgs sector effectively becomes that with two $SU(2)_L$ doublet scalar fields, in which the first and the second generation quarks couple to the different Higgs doublet from that couples to the third generation quarks. This structure causes the flavour changing neutral current mediated by Higgs bosons at the tree level. By taking an alignment limit of the mass matrix for the CP-even Higgs bosons, which is naturally realized in the case with the breaking scale of $SU(3)_L\times U(1)_X$ to be much larger than that of $SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y$, we can avoid current constraints from flavour experiments such as the $B^0$-$\bar{B}^0$ mixing even for the Higgs bosons masses being ${\cal O}(100)$ GeV. In this allowed parameter space, we clarify that a characteristic deviation in quark Yukawa couplings of the standard model-like Higgs boson is predicted, which has a different pattern from that seen in two Higgs doublet models with a softly-broken $Z_2$ symmetry. We also find that the flavour violating decay modes of the extra Higgs boson, e.g., $H/A \to tc$ and $H^\pm \to ts$ can be dominant, and they yield the important signature to distinguish our model from the two Higgs doublet models.

LHC 750 GeV Diphoton excess in a radiative seesaw model

We investigate a possibility for explaining the recently announced 750\,GeV diphoton excess by the ATLAS and the CMS experiments at the CERN LHC in a model with multiple doubly charged particles, which was originally suggested for explaining tiny neutrino masses through a three-loop effect in a natural way. The enhanced radiatively generated effective coupling of a new singlet scalar $S$ with diphoton with multiple charged particles in the loop enlarges the production rate of $S$ in $pp\to S+X$ via photon fusion process and also the decay width $Γ(S\to γγ)$ even without assuming a tree level production mechanism. We provide detailed analysis on the cases with or without allowing the mixing between $S$ and the standard model Higgs doublet.

Nonthermal dark matter models and signals

Many experiments exploring weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) such as direct, indirect and collider searches have been carried out until now. However, a clear signal of a WIMP has not been found yet and it makes us to suspect that WIMPs are questionable as a dark matter candidate. Taking into account this situation, we propose two models in which dark matter relic density is produced by decay of a metastable particle. In the first model, the metastable particle is a feebly interacting massive particle, which is the so-called FIMP produced by freeze-in mechanism in the early universe. In the second model, the decaying particle is thermally produced the same as the usual WIMP. However decay of the particle into dark matter is led by a higher dimensional operator. As a phenomenologically interesting feature of nonthermal dark matter discussed in this paper, a strong sharp gamma-ray emission as an indirect detection signal occurs due to internal bremsstrahlung, although some parameter space has already been ruled out by this process. Moreover combining other experimental and theoretical constraints such as dark matter relic density, big bang nucleosynthesis, collider, gamma-rays and perturbativity of couplings, we discuss the two nonthermal DM models.

Radiative Seesaw in Minimal 3-3-1 Model

We study the neutrino sector in a minimal $SU(3)_L\times U(1)_X$ model, in which its mass is generated at one-loop level with the charged lepton mass, and hence there exists a strong correlation between the charged-lepton mass and the neutrino mass. We identify the parameter region of this model to satisfy the current neutrino oscillation data as well as the constraints on lepton flavor violating processes. We also discuss a possibility to explain the muon anomalous magnetic moment.

Radiative Seesaw Model with Degenerate Majorana Dark Matter

We study a three loop induced neutrino mass model with exotic vector-like isospin doublet leptons which contain a dark matter candidate. Then we explore lepton flavor violations, and dark matter physics in co-annihilation system. In this paper the nearly degenerate Majorana fermion dark matter can naturally be achieved at the two loop level, while the mass splitting can be larger than ${\cal O}$(200) keV which is required from the constraint of the direct detection search with spin independent inelastic scattering through $Z$ boson portal. As a result a monochromatic photon excess, its threshold energy is greater than ${\cal O}$(200) keV, is predicted in our model that could be measured through indirect detection experiments such as INTEGRAL.

Two Loop Neutrino Model with Dark Matter and Leptogenesis

We study a two-loop induced radiative neutrino model at TeV scale with global $U(1)$ symmetry, in which we analyze dark matter and resonant leptogenesis. The model includes two kinds of dark matter candidates. We discuss what kind of dark matter can satisfy the observed relic density as well as the current direct detection bound, and be simultaneously compatible with the leptogenesis. We also discuss whether our resonant leptogenesis can be differentiated from the other scenarios at TeV scale or not.

We study a three-loop induced neutrino model with a global $U(1)$ symmetry at TeV scale, in which we naturally accommodate a bosonic dark matter candidate. We discuss the allowed regions of masses and quartic couplings for charged scalar bosons as well as the dark matter mass on the analogy of the original Zee-Babu model, and show the difference between them. We also discuss the possibility of the collider searches, in which future like-sign electron liner collider could be promising.

Accidental Dark Matter: Case in the Scale Invariant Local $B-L$ Models

We explore the idea of accidental dark matter (aDM) stability in the scale invariant local $U(1)_{B-L}$ model, which is a theory for neutrino and at the same time radiatively breaks scale invariance via quantum mechanical dynamics in the $U(1)_{B-L}$ sector. A real singlet scalar can be accidental DM with an accidental $Z_2$, by virtue of both extended symmetries. A $U(1)_{B-L}$ charged complex scalar can also be a viable accidental DM due to an accidental (or remanent) $Z_3$. They can reproduce correct relic density via the annihilations through the conventional Higgs portal or dark Higgs portal. The dark Higgs portal scenario is in tension with the LHC bound on $Z_{B-L}$, and only heavy DM of a few TeVs can have correct relic density. In particular, DM may trigger spontaneous breaking of scale Invariance (SISB). The situation is relaxed significantly in the $Z_3$ case due to the effective semi-annihilation mode and then light DM can be accommodated easily. In addition, the $Z_3$ model can accommodate the GeV scale $γ-$ray excess from the galactic center (GC) via semi-annihilation into pseudo Goldstone boson (PGSB). The best fit is achieved at a DM about 52 GeV, with annihilation cross section consistent with the thermal relic density. The invisible Higgs branching ratio is negligible because the Higgs portal quartic coupling is very small $λ_{hϕ} \lesssim 10^{-3}$.

Discriminative phenomenological features of scale invariant models for electroweak symmetry breaking

Classical scale invariance (CSI) may be one of the solutions for the hierarchy problem. Realistic models for electroweak symmetry breaking based on CSI require extended scalar sectors without mass terms, and the electroweak symmetry is broken dynamically at the quantum level by the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism. We discuss discriminative features of these models. First, using the experimental value of the mass of the discovered Higgs boson $h(125)$, we obtain an upper bound on the mass of the lightest additional scalar boson (~543 GeV), which does not depend on its isospin and hypercharge. Second, a discriminative prediction on the Higgs-photon-photon coupling is given as a function of the number of charged scalar bosons, by which we can narrow down possible models using current and future data for the di-photon decay of $h(125)$. Finally, for the triple Higgs boson coupling a large deviation (~ +70 %) from the SM prediction is universally predicted, which is independent of masses, quantum numbers and even the number of additional scalars. These models based on CSI can be well tested at LHC Run II and at future lepton colliders.

Higgs Triplet Model with Classically Conformal Invariance

We discuss an extension of the minimal Higgs triplet model with a classically conformal invariance and with a gauged $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry. In our scenario, tiny masses of neutrinos are generated by a hybrid contribution from the type-I and type-II seesaw mechanisms. The shape of the Higgs potential at low energies is determined by solving one-loop renormalization group equations for all the scalar quartic couplings with a set of initial values of parameters at the Planck scale. We find a successful set of the parameters in which the $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry is radiatively broken via the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism at the ${\cal O}$(10) TeV scale, and the electroweak symmetry breaking is also triggered by the $U(1)_{B-L}$ breaking. Under this configuration, we can predict various low energy observables such as the mass spectrum of extra Higgs bosons, and the mixing angles. Furthermore, using these predicted mass parameters, we obtain upper limits on Yukawa couplings among an isospin triplet Higgs field and lepton doublets from lepton flavor violation data.

TeV Scale B-L model with a flat Higgs potential at the Planck scale -- in view of the hierarchy problem

The recent discovery of the Higgs-like particle at around 126 GeV has given us a big hint towards the origin of the Higgs potential. Especially the running quartic coupling vanishes near the Planck scale, which indicates a possible link between the physics in the electroweak and the Planck scales. Motivated by this and the hierarchy problem, we investigate a possibility that the Higgs has a flat potential at the Planck scale. In particular, we study the RG analysis of the B-L extension of the standard model with a classical conformality. The B-L symmetry is radiatively broken at the TeV scale via the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism. The electroweak symmetry breaking is triggered by a radiatively generated scalar mixing so that its scale 246 GeV is dynamically related with the B-L breaking scale at TeV. The Higgs boson mass is given at the border of the stability bound, which is lowered by a few GeV from the SM by the effect of the B-L gauge interaction.

Three Loop Neutrino Model with Isolated $k^{\pm\pm}$

We propose a three loop radiative neutrino mass scenario with an isolated doubly charged singlet scalar $k^{\pm\pm}$ without couplings to the charged leptons, while two other singly charged scalars $h_1^\pm$ and $h_2^\pm$ attach to them. In this setup, the lepton flavor violation originating from $k^{\pm\pm}$ exchanges is suppressed and the model is less constrained, where some couplings can take sizable values. As reported in our previous work, the loop suppression factor at the three loop level would be too strong and realized neutrino masses in a three loop scenario could be smaller than the observed minuscule values. The sizable couplings can help us to enhance neutrino masses without drastically large scalar trilinear couplings appearing in a neutrino mass matrix, which tends to drive the vacuum stability to become jeopardized at the one loop level. Now the doubly charged scalar $k^{\pm\pm}$ has less constraint via lepton flavor violation and the vacuum can be quite stable, and thus a few hundred GeV mass in $k^{\pm\pm}$ is possible, which is within the LHC reach and this model can be tested in the near future. Note that the other $h_1^\pm$ and $h_2^\pm$ should be heavy at least around a few TeV. We suitably arrange the charges of an additional global $U(1)$ symmetry, where the decay constant of the associated Nambu-Goldstone boson can be around a TeV scale consistently. Also, this model is indirectly limited through a global analysis on results of the LHC Higgs search and issues on a dark matter candidate, the lightest Majorana neutrino. After $h_1^\pm$ and $h_2^\pm$ are decoupled, this particle couples to the standard model particles only through two charge parity even scalars in theory and thus information on this scalar sector is important. Consistent solutions are found, but a part of them is now on the edge.

Dark matter in the $SO(5)\times U(1)$ gauge-Higgs unification

In the $SO(5) \times U(1)$ gauge-Higgs unification the lightest, neutral component of $n_F$ $SO(5)$-spinor fermions (dark fermions), which are relevant for having the observed unstable Higgs boson, becomes the dark matter of the universe. We show that the relic abundance of the dark matter determined by WMAP and Planck data is reproduced, below the bound placed by the direct detection experiment by LUX, by a model with one light and three heavier ($n_F=4$) dark fermions with the lightest one of a mass from 2.3$\,$TeV to 3.1$\,$TeV. The corresponding Aharonov-Bohm phase $θ_H$ in the fifth dimension ranges from 0.097 to 0.074. The case of $n_F=3$ ($n_F = 5, 6$) dark fermions yields the relic abundance smaller (larger) than the observed limit.

LHC signals of the $SO(5)\times U(1)$ gauge-Higgs unification

Signatures of the $SO(5)\times U(1)$ gauge-Higgs unification at LHC and future colliders are explored. The Kaluza-Klein (KK) mass spectra of $γ, Z, Z_R$ and the Higgs self-couplings obey universality relations with the Aharonov-Bohm (AB) phase $θ_H$ in the fifth dimension. The current data at low energies and at LHC indicate $θ_H <0.2$. Couplings of quarks and leptons to KK gauge bosons are determined. Three neutral gauge bosons, the first KK modes $Z_R^{(1)}$, $Z^{(1)}$, and $γ^{(1)}$, appear as $Z'$ bosons in dilepton events at LHC. For $θ_H = 0.114$, the mass and decay width of $Z_R^{(1)}$, $Z^{(1)}$, and $γ^{(1)}$ are (5.73TeV, 482GeV), (6.07TeV, 342GeV), and (6.08TeV, 886GeV), respectively. For $θ_H = 0.073$ their masses are 8.00TeV$\sim$8.61TeV. An excess of events in the dilepton invariant mass should be observed in the $Z'$ search at the upgraded LHC at 14TeV.

Radiative symmetry breaking at the Fermi scale and flat potential at the Planck scale

We investigate a possibility of the "flatland scenario", in which the electroweak gauge symmetry is radiatively broken via the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism starting from a completely flat Higgs potential at the Planck scale. We show that the flatland scenario is realizable only when an inequality K<1 among the coefficients of the beta-functions is satisfied. We show several models satisfying the condition.

Radiative Symmetry Breaking from Flat Potential in various U(1)' models

We investigate a radiative electroweak gauge symmetry breaking scenario via the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism starting from a completely flat Higgs potential at the Planck scale ("flatland scenario"). In our previous paper, we showed that the flatland scenario is possible only when an inequality K<1 among the coefficients of the beta functions is satisfied. In this paper, we calculate the number K in various models with an extra U(1) gauge sector in addition to the SM particles. We also show the renormalization group (RG) behaviors of a couple of the models as examples.

Classically conformal B-L extended Standard Model and phenomenology

Bardeen has argued that once the classically conformal invariance and its minimal violation by quantum anomalies are imposed on the SM, it can be free from the quadratic divergences and hence the gauge hierarchy problem. We studied phenomenology and detectability of the model at LHC and the ILC.

Novel universality and Higgs decay H -> γγ, gg in the SO(5) x U(1) gauge-Higgs unification

The SO(5) x U(1) gauge-Higgs unification in the Randall-Sundrum warped space with the Higgs boson mass m_H=126 GeV is constructed. An universal relation is found between the Kaluza-Klein (KK) mass scale $m_{KK}$ and the Aharonov-Bohm (AB) phase $θ_H$ in the fifth dimension; $m_{KK} \sim 1350 GeV/(sin θ_H)^{0.787}$. The cubic and quartic self-couplings of the Higgs boson become smaller than those in the standard model (SM), having universal dependence on $θ_H$. The decay rates H -> γγ, gg are evaluated by summing contributions from KK towers. Corrections coming from KK excited states are finite and about 0.2% (2%) for $θ_H= 0.12 (0.36)$, branching fractions of various decay modes of the Higgs boson remaining nearly the same as in the SM. The signal strengths of the Higgs decay modes relative to the SM are $\sim cos^2 θ_H$. The mass of the first KK $Z$ is predicted to be $5.9 (2.4)$TeV for $θ_H= 0.12 (0.36)$. We also point out the possible enhancement of $Γ(H -> γγ)$ due to the large $U(1)_X$ charge of new fermion multiplets.

Dark matter in the classically conformal B-L model

When the classically conformal invariance is imposed on the minimal gauged B-L extended Standard Model (SM), the B-L gauge symmetry is broken by the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism naturally at the TeV scale. Introducing a new Z_2 parity in the model, we investigate phenomenology of a right-handed neutrino dark matter whose stability is ensured by the parity. We find that the relic abundance of the dark matter particle can be consistent with the observations through annihilation processes enhanced by resonances of either the SM Higgs boson, the B-L Higgs boson or the B-L gauge boson (Z' boson). Therefore, the dark matter mass is close to half of one of these boson masses. Due to the classically conformal invariance and the B-L gauge symmetry breaking via the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism, Higgs boson masses, Z' boson mass and the dark matter mass are all related, and we identify the mass region to be consistent with experimental results. We also calculate the spin-independent cross section of the dark matter particle off with nucleon and discuss implications for future direct dark matter search experiments.

Minimal Flavor Violation in the Minimal U(1)_{B-L} Model and Resonant Leptogenesis

We investigate the resonant leptogenesis scenario in the minimally $U(1)_{B-L}$ extended standard model with minimal flavor violation. In our model, the $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge symmetry is broken at the TeV scale and standard model singlet neutrinos gain Majorana masses of order TeV. In addition, we introduce a flavor symmetry on the singlet neutrinos at a scale higher than TeV. The flavor symmetry is explicitly broken by the neutrino Dirac Yukawa coupling, which induces splittings in the singlet neutrino Majorana masses at lower scales through renormalization group evolutions. We call this setup "minimal flavor violation". The mass-splittings are proportional to the tiny Dirac Yukawa coupling, and hence they automatically enhance the CP asymmetry parameter necessary for the resonant leptogenesis mechanism. In this paper, we calculate the baryon number yield by solving the Boltzmann equations, including the effects of $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge boson that also has TeV scale mass and causes washing-out of the singlet neutrinos in the course of thermal leptogenesis. The Dirac Yukawa coupling for neutrinos is fixed in terms of neutrino oscillation data and an arbitrary $3 \times 3$ complex-valued orthogonal matrix. We show that the right amount of baryon number asymmetry can be achieved through thermal leptogenesis in the context of the minimal flavor violation with singlet neutrinos and $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge boson at the TeV scale. These particles can be discovered at the LHC in the near future.

Resonant Leptogenesis in the Minimal B-L Extended Standard Model at TeV

We investigate the resonant leptogenesis scenario in the minimal B-L extended standard model(SM) with the B-L symmetry breaking at the TeV scale. Through detailed analysis of the Boltzmann equations, we show how much the resultant baryon asymmetry via leptogenesis is enhanced or suppressed, depending on the model parameters, in particular, the neutrino Dirac Yukawa couplings and the TeV-scale Majorana masses of heavy degenerate neutrinos. In order to consider a realistic case, we impose a simple ansatz for the model parameters and analyze the neutrino oscillation parameters and the baryon asymmetry via leptogenesis as a function of only a single CP-phase. We find that for a fixed CP-phase all neutrino oscillation data and the observed baryon asymmetry of the present universe can be simultaneously reproduced.

Classically Conformal B-L extended Standard Model

Under a hypothesis of classically conformal theories, we investigate the minimal B-L extended Standard Model, which naturally provides the seesaw mechanism for explaining tiny neutrino masses. In this setup, the radiative gauge symmetry breaking is successfully realized in a very simple way: The B-L gauge symmetry is broken through the conformal anomaly induced by quantum corrections in the Coleman-Weinberg potential. Associated with this B-L symmetry breaking, the Higgs mass parameter is dynamically generated, by which the electroweak symmetry breaking is triggered. We find that a wide range of parameter space can satisfy both the theoretical and experimental requirements.
