WearVox: An Egocentric Multichannel Voice Assistant Benchmark for Wearables

Wearable devices such as AI glasses are transforming voice assistants into always-available, hands-free collaborators that integrate seamlessly with daily life, but they also introduce challenges like egocentric audio affected by motion and noise, rapid micro-interactions, and the need to distinguish device-directed speech from background conversations. Existing benchmarks largely overlook these complexities, focusing instead on clean or generic conversational audio. To bridge this gap, we present WearVox, the first benchmark designed to rigorously evaluate voice assistants in realistic wearable scenarios. WearVox comprises 3,842 multi-channel, egocentric audio recordings collected via AI glasses across five diverse tasks including Search-Grounded QA, Closed-Book QA, Side-Talk Rejection, Tool Calling, and Speech Translation, spanning a wide range of indoor and outdoor environments and acoustic conditions. Each recording is accompanied by rich metadata, enabling nuanced analysis of model performance under real-world constraints. We benchmark leading proprietary and open-source speech Large Language Models (SLLMs) and find that most real-time SLLMs achieve accuracies on WearVox ranging from 29% to 59%, with substantial performance degradation on noisy outdoor audio, underscoring the difficulty and realism of the benchmark. Additionally, we conduct a case study with two new SLLMs that perform inference with single-channel and multi-channel audio, demonstrating that multi-channel audio inputs significantly enhance model robustness to environmental noise and improve discrimination between device-directed and background speech. Our results highlight the critical importance of spatial audio cues for context-aware voice assistants and establish WearVox as a comprehensive testbed for advancing wearable voice AI research.

Looper: An end-to-end ML platform for product decisions

Modern software systems and products increasingly rely on machine learning models to make data-driven decisions based on interactions with users, infrastructure and other systems. For broader adoption, this practice must (i) accommodate product engineers without ML backgrounds, (ii) support finegrain product-metric evaluation and (iii) optimize for product goals. To address shortcomings of prior platforms, we introduce general principles for and the architecture of an ML platform, Looper, with simple APIs for decision-making and feedback collection. Looper covers the end-to-end ML lifecycle from collecting training data and model training to deployment and inference, and extends support to personalization, causal evaluation with heterogenous treatment effects, and Bayesian tuning for product goals. During the 2021 production deployment Looper simultaneously hosted 440-1,000 ML models that made 4-6 million real-time decisions per second. We sum up experiences of platform adopters and describe their learning curve.

Molecular states from $\bar{B}^{(*)}N$ interactions

In 2019, two new structures $Λ_b(6146)$ and $Λ_b(6152)$ were observed by the LHCb Collaboration at the invariant mass spectrum of $Λ_b^0π^{+}π^{-}$, which aroused a hot discussion about their inner structures. The $Λ_b(6146)$ and $Λ_b(6152)$ might still be molecular states because their masses are close to threshold of a $\bar{B}$ meson and a nucleon. In this work, we perform a systematical investigation of possible heavy baryonic molecular states from the $\bar{B}N$ interaction. Since the $\bar{B}N$ channel strongly couples to the $\bar{B}^{*}N$ channel, the possible $\bar{B}N-\bar{B}^{*}N$ bound states are also studied. The interaction of the system considered is described by the $t$-channel $σ$, $π$, $η$ ,$ω$, and $ρ$ mesons exchanges. By solving the non-relativistic Schrödinger equation with the obtained one-boson-exchange potentials, the $\bar{B}^{(*)}N$ bound states with different quantum numbers are searched. The calculation suggests that recently observed $Λ_b(6146)$ can be assigned as a $P$-wave $\bar{B}N$ molecular state with spin parity $J^P=3/2^{+}$ or a $\bar{B}N-\bar{B}^{*}N$ bound state. However, assignment of $Λ_b(6152)$ as an $F$-wave $\bar{B}N$ molecular is disfavored. The $Λ_b(6152)$ can be explained as meson-baryon molecular state with a small $\bar{B}N$ component. The calculation also predict the existence of two $S$-wave $\bar{B}N-\bar{B}^{*}N$ bound states that can be related to the experimentally observed $Λ_b(5912)$ and $Λ_b(5920)$.

Possible $P$- wave $D_s\bar{D}_{s0}(2317)$ molecular state $Y^{'}(4274)$

Stimulated by the measurement of the $Jψϕ$ decay model of $Y(4274)$ by the LHCb Collaboration, we consider a possible interpretation of this state as a hadron molecular-a bound state of $D_s$ and $\bar{D}_{s0}(2317)$ mesons. Using effective Lagrangian approach, we calculate the two-body strong decay channels $Y(4274)\to{}J/ψϕ,χ_{c0}η,χ_{c0}η,D^{*}_s\bar{D}_s$, $D\bar{D}^{*}$, $K\bar{K}^{*}$, and $ϕϕ$ through hadronic loops and three-body decays into $π^0{}D_s\bar{D}_s$. In comparison with the LHCb data, our results show that $Y(4274)$ cannot be assigned to be a $D_s\bar{D}_{s0}(2317)$ molecular state. The calculated partial decay widths with $J^P=1^{+}$ $D_s\bar{D}_{s0}$ molecular state picture indicates that allowed decay modes, $χ_{c0}η$ and $χ_{c1}η$, may have the smallest branching ratio and are of the order of 0.0 MeV. Future experimental measurements of such two processes can be quite useful to test the different interpretations of the $Y(4274)$. If $P-$wave $D_s\bar{D}_{s0}$ molecular exist [we marked as $Y^{'}(4274)$], the total decay is at the order of 1.06-1.84 MeV, which seems to be within the reach of the current experiments such as Belle II. In addition, the calculated partial decay widths indicate that allowed decay mode, $D\bar{D}^{*}$, may have the biggest branching ratio. The experimental measurements for this strong decay process could be a crucial to observe such a new state $Y^{'}(4274)$.

Production of the $T^{+}_{cc}$ state in the $γp\to{}D^{+}\bar{T}^{-}_{cc}Λ_c^{+}$ reaction

Stimulated by the recent LHCb observation of a new exotic charged structure $T^{+}_{cc}$, we propose to use the central diffractive mechanism existing in the $γp\to{}D^{+}\bar{T}^{-}_{cc}Λ_c^{+}$ ($\bar{T}_{cc}$ is antiparticle of $T^{+}_{cc}$) reaction to produce $T^{+}_{cc}$. Our theoretical approach is based on the chiral unitary theory where the $T^{+}_{cc}$ resonance is dynamically generated. With the coupling constant of the $T^{+}_{cc}$ to $DD^{*}$ channel obtained from chiral unitary theory, the total cross sections of the $γp\to{}D^{+}\bar{T}^{-}_{cc}Λ_c^{+}$ reaction are evaluated. Our study indicates that the cross section for $γp\to{}D^{+}\bar{T}^{-}_{cc}Λ_c^{+}$ reaction are of the order of 1.0 pb, which is accessible at the proposed EicC~\cite{Anderle:2021wcy} and US-EIC~\cite{Accardi:2012qut} due to the higher luminosity. If measured in future experiments, the predicted total cross sections can be used to test the (molecular) nature of the $T^{+}_{cc}$.

Radiative decay of the $Ξ(1620)$ in a hadronic molecule picture

Last year, the $Ξ(1620)$ state that is cataloged in the Particle Data Group (PDG) with only one star is reported again in the $Ξ^{-}π^{+}$ final state by the Belle Collaboration. Its properties not only the spectroscopy but also the decay width cannot be simply explained in the context of conventional constituent quark models. This intrigues an active discussion on the structure of this resonance. In this work, we study the radiative decays of the newly observed $Ξ(1620)$ assuming that it is a meson-baryon molecular state of $Λ\bar{K}$ and $Σ\bar{K}$ with spin-parity $J^P=1/2^{-}$ in our previous work. The partial decay widths of the $Λ\bar{K}-Σ\bar{K}$ molecular state into $Ξγ$ and $Ξπγ$ final states through hadronic loops are evaluated with the help of the effective Lagrangians. The partial widths for the $Ξ(1620)^0\toγΞ$ and $Ξ(1620)^0\toγΞπ$ are evaluated to be about $118.76-174.21$ KeV and $58.19-68.75$ eV, respectively, which may be accessible for the LHCb. If the $Ξ(1620)$ is $Λ\bar{K}-Σ\bar{K}$ molecule, the radiative transition strength $Ξ(1620)^0\toγ\bar{K}Λ$ is quite small and the decay width is of the order of 0.01 eV. Future experimental measurements of these processes can be useful to test the molecule interpretations of the $Ξ(1620)$.

Description of the newly observed $Ξ_c^{0}$ states as molecular states

Very recently, three new structures $Ξ_c(2923)^0$, $Ξ(2938)^0$, and $Ξ(2964)^0$ at the invariant mass spectrum of $Λ_c^{+}K^{-}$ observed by the LHCb Collaboration triggers a hot discussion about their inner structure. In this work, we study the strong decay mode of the newly observed $Ξ_c$ assuming that the $Ξ_c$ is a $\bar{D}Λ-\bar{D}Σ$ molecular state. With the possible quantum numbers $J^p=1/2^{\pm}$ and $3/2^{\pm}$, the partial decay widths of the $\bar{D}Λ-\bar{D}Σ$ molecular state into the $Λ_c^{+}K^{-}$, $Σ_c^{+}K^{-}$,and $Ξ_c^{+}π^{-}$ final states through hadronic loop are calculated with the help of the effective Lagrangians. By comparison with the LHCb observation, the current results of total decay width support the $Ξ(2923)^0$ as $\bar{D}Λ-\bar{D}Σ$ molecule while the decay width of the $Ξ_c(2938)^0$ and $Ξ(2964)^0$ can not be well reproduced in the molecular state picture. In addition, the calculated partial decay widths with $S$ wave $\bar{D}Λ-\bar{D}Σ$ molecular state picture indicate that allowed decay modes, $Ξ_c^{+}π^{-}$, may have the biggest branching ratios for the $Ξ_c(2923)$. The experimental measurements for this strong decay process could be a crucial test for the molecule interpretation of the $Ξ_c(2923)$.

Discovery potential for the LHCb fully-charm tetraquark $X(6900)$ state via $\bar{p}p$ annihilation reaction

Inspired by the observation of the fully-charm tetraquark $X(6900)$ state at LHCb, the production of $X(6900)$ in $\bar{p}p\rightarrow J/ψJ/ψ$ reaction is studied within an effective Lagrangian approach and Breit-Wigner formula. The numerical results show that the cross section of $X(6900)$ at the c.m. energy of 6.9 GeV is much larger than that from the background contribution. Moreover, we estimate dozens of signal events can be detected by D0 experiment, which indicates that searching for the $X(6900)$ via antiproton-proton scattering may be a very important and promising way. Therefore, related experiments are suggested to be carried out.

Radiative decay of $Ξ_b(6227)$ in a hadronic molecule picture

The $Ξ_b(6227)$ baryon with the quantum number $J^P=1/2^{-}$ is considered as a molecular state composed of a $Σ_b$ baryon and $\bar{K}$ meson. The partial decay widths of the $Σ_b\bar{K}$ molecular state into $Ξ_bγ$ and $Ξ_b^{'}γ$ final states through hadronic loops are evaluated with the help of the effective Lagrangians. The partial widths for the $Ξ_b(6227)\toγΞ_b$ and $Ξ_b(6227)\toγΞ^{'}_b$ are evaluated to be about 1.50-1.02 KeV and 17.56-24.91 KeV, respectively, which may be accessible for the LHCb. Based on our results we argue that an experimental determination of the radiative decay width of $Ξ_b(6227)$ is important for the understanding of its intrinsic properties.

Strong decays of the $Ξ(1620)$ as a $Λ\bar{K}$ and $Σ\bar{K}$ molecule

In this work, we study the strong decays of the newly observed $Ξ(1620)^0$ assuming that it is a meson-baryon molecular state of $Λ\bar{K}$ and $Σ\bar{K}$. We consider four possible spin-parity assignments $J^P=1/2^{\pm}$ and $3/2^{\pm}$ for the $Ξ(1620)^0$, and evaluate its partial decay width into $Ξπ$ via hadronic loops with the help of effective Lagrangians. In comparison with the Belle data, the calculated decay width favors the spin-party assignment $1/2^-$ while the other spin-parity assignments do not yield a decay width consistent with data in the molecule picture. We find that about $52\%$-$68\%$ of the total width comes from the $\bar{K}Λ$ channel, while the rest is provided by the $\bar{K}Σ$ channel. As a result, both channels are important in explaining the strong decay of the $Ξ(1620)^0$. This information is helpful to further understand the nature of the $Ξ(1620)^0$.

Strong decays of the explicitly exotic doubly charmed $DDK$ bound state

Nowadays, it is generally accepted that the $DK$ interaction in isospin zero is strongly attractive and the $D_{s0}^*(2317)$ can be described as a $DK$ molecular state. Recent studies show that the three-body $DDK$ system binds as well with a binding energy about 60$\sim$70 MeV. The $DDK$ bound state has isospin $1/2$ and spin-parity $0^-$. If discovered either experimentally or in lattice QCD, it will not only provide further support on the molecular nature of the $D_{s0}^*(2317)$, but also provide a way to understand other exotic hadrons expected to be of molecular nature. In the present work, we study its two-body strong decay widths via triangle diagrams. We find that the partial decay width into $DD_sπ$ is at the order of $2\sim3$ MeV, which seems to be within the reach of the current experiments such as BelleII. As a result, we strongly recommend this decay channel of the $DDK$ bound state to be searched for experimentally.

$\bar{K}$ -induced formation of the $f_2(1270)$ and $f_2^{'}(1525)$ resonances on proton targets

We investigate the productiong of $f_2(1270)$ and $f_2^{'}(1525)$ mesons in the $K^{-}p\toΛf_2(1270)$,$K^{-}p\toΛf^{'}_2(1525)$ and $K^{-}p\to{}K^{+}K^{-}Λ$ reactions within an effective Lagrangian approach. For $K^{-}p\to{}f_2Λ$ reaction, by considering the contributions from the $t$-channel $K^{+}$ exchange and $u$-channel nucleon pole, we get a fairly good description of the experimental measurements about the total and differential cross sections. Based on the studies of the $K^{-}p\to{}f_2Λ$ reaction, we investigate $K^{-}p\to{}K^{+}K^{-}Λ$ reaction including the contributions from the $f_2(1270)$ and $f'_2(1525)$ mesons decaying into $K^+K^-$ pair. The total cross sections and invariant mass distribution of the $K p \to K^+K^- Λ$ reaction are predicted. The results can be tested in future experiments and therefore offer new clues on the nature of these tensor states.

Photoproduction of hidden-charm states in the $γp \to \bar{D}^{*0} Λ^+_c$ reaction near threshold

We report on a theoretical study of the hidden charm $N^*_{c \bar{c}}$ states in the $γp \to \bar{D}^{*0} Λ^+_c$ reaction near threshold within an effective Lagrangian approach. In addition to the contributions from the $s$-channel nucleon pole, the $t$-channel $D^0$ exchange, the $u$-channel $Λ^+_c$ exchange and the contact term, we study the contributions from the $N^*_{c \bar{c}}$ states with spin-parity $J^P = 1/2^-$ and $3/2^-$. The total and differential cross sections of the $γp \to \bar{D}^{*0} Lambda^+_c$ reaction are predicted. It is found that the contributions of these $N^*_{c \bar{c}}$ states give clear peak structures in the total cross sections. Thus, this reaction is another new platform to study the hidden-charm states. It is expected that our model calculation may be tested by the future experiments.

Pion-induced production of the $Z_c(3900)$ off a nuclear target

We investigate the possibility to study the charmoniumlike state $Z_c(3900)$ through the pion-induced production off a nuclear target. By using a high-energy pion beam, the $Z_c(3900)$ can be produced off a proton or nucleus though the Primakoff effect. The production amplitude is calculated in an effective Lagrangian approach combined with the vector dominance model. The total cross sections of the $p(π^-, Z^-_c(3900))$ and $p(π^-, Z^-_c(3900)\to J/ψπ^-)$ reactions are calculated, and their order of magnitude is about 0.1 and 0.01nb, respectively, with an assumption of branch ratio 10\% for the $Z_c(3900)$ decay in $J/ψπ$ channel. If the proton target is replaced by a nuclear target, the production of the $Z_c(3900)$ enhances obviously. The predicted total cross sections for the $A(π^-, Z^-_c(3900))$ and $A(π^-, Z^-_c(3900)\to J/ψπ^-)$ reactions with $A=^{12}$C or $^{208}$Pb are on the order of magnitude of 100 and 10 nb, respectively, which is about one thousand times larger than the cross sections off a proton target. Based on these the results, we suggest the experimental study of the $Z_c(3900)$ by using high-energy pion beams with a nuclear target at facilities such as COMPASS and J-PARC.

Theoretical investigation of the decay of the $N(2120)$ resonance to nucleon resonances near 1.7 GeV

Background: Until now the knowledge about nucleon resonances with a mass higher than 2 GeV has been scarce. Huge amounts of experimental data of the multipion photoproduction have been accumulated, and more can be expected in the future in facilities such as JLab 12 GeV. It makes it possible to investigate the decay of a nucleon resonance into another nucleon resonance. Purpose: The possibility to research the decay of the $N(2120)$ to nucleon resonances near 1.7 GeV in the three-pion photoproduction will be explored to provide useful information for future experimental study. Method: The pion and radiative decay amplitudes of nucleon resonances are studied within the constituent quark model, which is used to calculate the couplings constants, especially for the decay of a nucleon resonance near 2.1 GeV to another nucleon resonance near 1.7 GeV. The three-pion photoproduction off the neutron target, i.e.,$γn \toπ^{-}π^{-}Δ^{++}\to π^{-}π^{-}π^+ p$, is investigated based on the effective Lagrangian method with the coupling constant obtained form the decay amplitudes. Results: The resonance contribution with a state $N(^2P_M)\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ near 2.1 GeV decaying to a state $N(^4P_M)\frac{5}{2}^{-}$ near 1.7 GeV, i.\ e., $N(2120)\to N(1675)π$ is dominant in the process considered. The total cross section from the resonance contribution is at the order of 1 $μ$b and can be easily distinguished from the background. Conclusions: Our results suggest it is practicable to research the decay of the $N(2120)$ to the $N(1675)$ in experiment.

Discovery potential of hidden charm baryon resonances via photoproduction

In this work, we study the possibility to find $N^*_{c\bar{c}}$ and $Λ^*_{c\bar{c}}$ resonances with hidden charm with mass above 4 GeV in the photon-induced production. The cross sections for the photoproductions of hidden charmed baryons are predicted in the effective Lagrangian approach with the vector meson dominance mechanism. The $N^*(4412)$ can be produced directly by photon excitation with total cross section about 1 nb. The $N^*(4412)$ provides a obvious peak near threshold for $J/ψ$ photoproduction, which is promising to be checked by the future high precision experiment at JLab 12 GeV. The results will be helpful to the experimental search for the hidden-charmed baryon resonances in the coming experiment at JLab 12 GeV, such as SoLID, and the proposed electron-ion colliders at FAIR and HIAF.

The $γp \to n a^+_2(1320) \to n ρ^0 π^+$ reactions within an effective Lagrangian approach

We investigate the $a_2(1320)$ meson photon production in the $γp \to n a^+_2(1320)$ and $γp \to n ρ^0 π^+$ reactions within the effective Lagrangian method. For $γp \to n a^+_2(1320)$ reaction, by considering the contributions only from the $t-$channel $π^+$ exchange, we get a fairly good description of the current experimental total cross section data. We also studied the $γp \to n ρ^0 π^+$ reaction, which mainly contribute to the $γp \to n π^+ π^+ π^-$ reaction. The latter reaction has measured by the CLAS Collaboration. The total cross sections, invariant mass distribution, and the Dalitz Plot of $γp \to n ρ^0 π^+$ reaction are shown, which can be tested by future experiments.
