Entanglement at the Soft-Hair Horizon

We study entanglement between two modes of a free bosonic and fermionic field as seen by two relatively accelerating observers at the soft-hair horizon of a four-dimensional supertranslated Schwarzschild black hole. First, we associate the shock wave to the near horizon geometry by explicit construction of map between their metric as well as relation between wave form factor and soft hair function. We then compute mutual information and entanglement negativity as a measure of entanglement between these two observers and show that their angular dependence at the soft-hair horizon. We also show that for vanishing soft hair function our results are equal to that of an ordinary Schwarzschild black hole case.

Open String Probe in Soft Hair BTZ

We study the boundary CFT under supertranslation in terms of the AdS/CFT correspondence. In particular, we probe the soft hair BTZ background by several open string configurations as follows. The Ryu-Takayanaki formula of holographic entanglement remains intact under supertranslation. The U-shape string probe indicates that the flat part of meson potential is altered by the soft charge. The trailing string solution shows that the hair parameter plays the role of external field in the drag force. The study of hanging string in the Brownian motion suggests the transport variables, such as friction coefficient are likely affected by supertranslation.

Hawking Radiation As Stimulated Emission

We regard the Parikh-Wilczek's tunnelling model of Hawking radiation as a quantum mechanical process of stimulated emission. The hypothesized microstates are found at the horizon with double degeneracy. A Jaynes-Cummings toy model for a black hole in the cavity is proposed to demonstrate how to write a qubit via the angular-dependent transition coupling, which might be related to the soft Goldstone hairs at analytic continuation. At last, we show how information is retained in the black hole by computing the time evolution of mutual entanglement entropy in the cavity-black holes system.

Spin chains and classical strings in two parameters $q$-deformed AdS$_3\times$S$^3$

In this paper, we study the spin chain and string excitation in the two-parameters $q$-deformed AdS$_3\times$S$^3$ proposed by Hoare. We obtain the deformed spin chain model at the fast spin limit for choices of deformed parameters. General ansatz for giant magnons are studied in great detail and complicated dispersion relation is treated perturbatively. We also study several types of hanging string solutions and their charges and spins are analyzed numerically. At last, we explore its pp-wave limit and find its solution only depends on the difference of deformed parameters.

Classical and Quantum Szilard Engine under Generalized Uncertainty Principle Effect

We studied the Szilard engine under the effect of generalized uncertainty principle (GUP). In the classical Szilard engine, the work done by the engine is reduced by the GUP effect via a modified ideal gas law. In the quantum Szilard engine, the correction comes from the shifted eigen energy due to the nonlinear momentum dependence. We studied its effect on both bosonic and fermionic molecules.

Finiteness of Entanglement Entropy in Quantum Black Hole

A logarithmic but divergent term usually appears in the computation of entanglement entropy circumferencing a black hole, while the leading quantum correction to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy also takes the logarithmic form. A quench model of CFT within finite Euclidean time was proposed in the \cite{Kuwakino:2014nra} to regard this logarithmic term as entanglement between radiation and the black hole, and this proposal was justified by the alternative sign for $n$-partite quantum information. However, this preliminary form suffers from the notorious divergence at its low temperature limit. In this letter, we propose a modified form for black hole entanglement entropy such that the divergence sickness can be cured. We discuss the final stage of black hole due to this modification and its relation to R{è}nyi entropy, higher loop quantum correction and higher spin black holes.

Holographic Model of Dual Superconductor for Quark Confinement

We show that a hairy black hole solution can provide a holographically dual description of quark confinement. There exists a one-parameter sensible metric which receives the backreaction of matter contents in the holographic action, where the scalar and gauge field are responsible for the condensation of chromomagnetic monopoles. This model features a preconfining phase triggered by second-order monopole condensation and a first-order confinement/deconfinement phase transition. To confirm the confinement, the quark-antiquark potential is calculated by probing a QCD string in both phases. At last, contribution from Kaluza-Klein monopoles in the confining phase is discussed.

Black hole remnant in asymptotic Anti-de Sitter space

It is known that a solution of remnant were suggested for black hole ground state after surface gravity is corrected by loop quantum effect. On the other hand, a Schwarzschild black hole in asymptotic Anti-de Sitter space would tunnel into the thermal soliton solution known as the Hawking-Page phase transition. In this letter, we investigate the low temperature phase of three-dimensional BTZ black hole and four-dimensional AdS Schwarzschild black hole. We find that the thermal soliton is energetically favored than the remnant solution at low temperature in three dimensions, while Planck-size remnant is still possible in four dimensions. Though the BTZ remnant seems energetically disfavored, we argue that it is still possible to be found in the overcooled phase if strings were present and its implication is discussed.

A Holographic Model of Two-Band Superconductor

We construct a holographic two-band superconductor model with interband Josephson coupling. We investigate the effects the Josephson coupling has on the superconducting condensates and the critical temperature for their formation numerically, as well as analytically where possible. We calculate the AC conductivity and find it qualitatively similar to the single band superconductor. We investigate the nodal structure of our holographic two-band superconductor from the low temperature behavior of the thermal conductivity and find it nodeless.

Area spectrum of extremal black holes with warped AdS near-horizon geometry

In this letter, we provide an alternative method to study the area spectrum of certain classes of extremal black holes which have near-horizon geometry as warped AdS. We argue that previous methods which are based on the existence of quasinormal modes may not be applicable in the extremal limit. The topology difference of the near-horizon geometry between non-extremal and extremal black holes implies a separate treatment is needed to study the area discreteness in the extremal limit. To be specific, we will study area spectrum of supersymmetric BMPV black holes/black rings and Reissner-Norstroem black holes at the extremal limit. Inspired by the recently established Kerr/CFT and RN/CFT correspondence, we propose a new way to quantize the area regardless of the (non-)existence of quasinormal modes or zero Hawking temperature. At last, we propose a dilute gas model and harmonic oscillator model which have same degrees of freedom as the dual CFT.

Charge-mass ratio bound and optimization in the Parikh-Wilczek tunneling model of Hawking radiation

In this letter, we study the mutual information hidden in the Parikh-Wilczek tunneling model of Hawking radiation for Reissner-Norstrom black holes. We argue that the condition of nonnegativity of mutual information suggests bound(s) for charge-mass ratio of emitted particles. We further view the radiation as an optimization process and discuss its effect on time evolution of a charged black hole.

n-partite information in Hawking radiation

We study the entanglement among sequential Hawking radiations in the Parikh-Wilczek tunneling model of Schwarzschild black hole. We identify the part of classical correlation and that of quantum entanglement in bipartite information and point out its imitated relation to quantum gravity correction. Explicit computation of n-partite information shows that it is positive (negative) for even (odd) $n$, which happens to agree with the holographic computation. The fact that entanglement in the mutual information grows with time mimics the second law of thermodynamics. Later we extend our study to the AdS black hole and find the total mutual information which includes the classical correlation is sensible to the Hawking-Page phase transition.

Nonthermal correction to black hole spectroscopy

Area spectrum of black holes have been obtained via various methods such as quasinormal modes, adiabatic invariance and angular momentum. Among those methods, calculations were done by assuming black holes in thermal equilibrium. Nevertheless, black holes in the asymptotically flat space usually have negative specific heat and therefore tend to stay away from thermal equilibrium. Even for those black holes with positive specific heat, temperature may still not be well defined in the process of radiation, due to the back reaction of decreasing mass. Respect to these facts, it is very likely that Hawking radiation is nonthermal and the area spectrum is no longer equidistant. In this note, we would like to illustrate how the area spectrum of black holes is corrected by this nonthermal effect.

Spin chains and classical strings in rotating Rindler-AdS space

In this paper, we study the spin chain and string excitation in the rotating Rindler-$AdS_3$ proposed in [12]. We obtain a one-parameter deformed $SL(2)$ spin chain at the fast spin limit. Two-spin GKP-like solutions are studied at short and long string limits. General ansatz for the giant magnons and the spiky strings are analyzed in detail for various $β$. At last, we explore its counterpart in analytic continuation and pp-wave limit.

The small and large D limit of Parikh-Wilczek tunneling model for Hawking radiation

In this note, we study both the small and large dimension $D$ limit of the tunneling model of Hwaking radiation proposed by Parikh and Wilczek\cite{Parikh:1999mf}. We confirm that the result $Γ\sim e^{ΔS}$ is still valid for arbitrary $D>3$. The sensible large $D$ limit is given by $\sqrt{D} \ll r_0$ in order to have nonzero radiation. On the other hand, the sensible small $D$ limit is given by taking $D=3+ε$ as a continuous parameter. We also explicitly show the leading order correction to the thermal radiation and discuss its connection to the two-dimensional dilaton gravity.

Thoughts on entropic gravity in the Parikh-Wilczek tunneling model of Hawking radiation

In this letter, we use the Parikh-Wilczek tunneling model of Hawking radiation to illustrate that a reformulation of Verlinde's entropic gravity is needed to derive the Newton's law for a temperature-varying screen, demanded by the conservation of energy. Furthermore, the entropy stored in the holographic screen is shown to be additive and its temperature dependence can be obtained.

A Holographic Model For Hall Viscosity

We have modified the holographic model of Saremi and Son by using a charged black brane, instead of a neutral one, such that when the bulk pseudo scalar potential is made of quadratic and quartic terms, parity can still be broken spontaneously in the boundary theory. In our model, the 3+1 dimensional bulk has a pseudo scalar coupled to the gravitational Chern-Simons term in the anti de Sitter charged black brane back ground. Parity could be broken spontaneously in the bulk by the pseudo scalar hairy solution and give rise to non-zero Hall viscosity at the boundary theory.

Dipole Coupling Effect of Holographic Fermion in Charged Dilatonic Gravity

In this note, we study the dipole coupling effect of holographic fermion in a charged dilatonic black hole proposed by Gubser and Rocha (arXiv:0911.2898). It is found that the property of Fermi liquid is rigid under perturbation of dipole coupling, and the Fermi momentum is linearly shifted. A gap is dynamically generated as the coupling becomes large enough and the Fermi surface ceases to exist as the bulk dipole coupling further increases.

Analytical study of critical magnetic field in a holographic superconductor

We analytically sutdy the effect of external magnetic field in a Holographic superconductor by using Sturm-Liouville method. We estimate the coefficient of proportionality at critical temperature and find its denpendence on external magnetic field. By exploring phase diagrams of critical temperature and magnetic field for various condensates, we conclude that a Meissner-like effect is a general feature in Holographic superconductors. We also study the quantum phase transition at zero temperature and find that critical charge density increases linearly with the condensate dimension.

Quantum Criticality in Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton Gravity

We investigate the quantum Lifshitz criticality in a general background of Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton gravity. In particular, we demonstrate the existence of critical point with dynamic critical exponent z by tuning a nonminimal coupling to its critical value. We also study the effect of nonminimal coupling and exponent z to the Efimov states and holographic RG flow in the overcritical region. We have found that the nonminimal coupling increases the instability for a probe scalar to condensate and its back reaction is discussed. At last, we give a quantum mechanics treatment to a solvable system with z=2, and comment for generic z>2.

Towards A Holographic Model of D-Wave Superconductors

The holographic model for S-wave high T_c superconductors developed by Hartnoll, Herzog and Horowitz is generalized to describe D-wave superconductors. The 3+1 dimensional gravitational theory consists a symmetric, traceless second-rank tensor field and a U(1) gauge field in the background of the AdS black hole. Below T_c the tensor field which carries the U(1) charge undergoes the Higgs mechanism and breaks the U(1) symmetry of the boundary theory spontaneously. The phase transition characterized by the D-wave condensate is second order with the mean field critical exponent beta = 1/2. As expected, the AC conductivity is isotropic below T_c and the system becomes superconducting in the DC limit but has no hard gap.

Peak-Dip-Hump from Holographic Superconductivity

We study the fermionic spectral function in a holographic superconductor model. At zero temperature, the black hole has zero horizon and hence the entropy of the system is zero after the back reaction of the condensate is taken into account. We find the system exhibits the famous peak-dip-hump lineshape with a sharp low-energy peak followed by a dip then a hump at higher energies. This feature is widely observed in the spectrum of several high-T_c superconductors. We also find a linear relation between the gap in the fermionic spectrum and the condensate, indicating the condensate is formed by fermion pairing.

Shear Viscosity of a Non-Relativistic Conformal Gas in Two Dimensions

The shear viscosity, eta, of a fermi gas with non-relativistic conformal symmetry in two spatial dimensions is investigated. We find that eta/s, s being the entropy density, diverges as a gas of free particles in this system. It is in contrast to the eta/s=1/(4 pi) found using non-relativistic AdS/CFT correspondence, which requires a strongly interacting CFT. It implies the unitary fermi gas in two spatial dimensions is not likely to have a weakly interacting gravity dual.
