Resonances ρ(1450)+ρ(1450)^+ and ρ(1700)+ρ(1700)^+ in B→DKKB \to D KK decays

The contributions for the kaon pair from the intermediate states ρ(1450)+ρ(1450)^+ and ρ(1700)+ρ(1700)^+ in the decays B+→Dˉ0K+Kˉ0B^+ \to \bar{D}^0 K^+ \bar{K}^0, B0→D−K+Kˉ0B^0 \to D^- K^+ \bar{K}^0, and Bs0→Ds−K+Kˉ0B_s^0 \to D_s^-K^+ \bar{K}^0 are analyzed within the perturbative QCD factorization approach. The decay amplitudes for all concerned decays in this work are dominated by the factorizable Feynman diagrams with the emission of the kaon pair, and the charged ρρ mesons should be of great importance in the KKKK channel of the related three-body BB decays. Moreover, these quasi-two-body decays are CKM-favored, and the relevant branching ratios are predicted to be in the order of 10−510^{-5}, which have the potential to be measured by experiments. It is also shown that the contributions of the subprocesses ρ(1450,1700)+→KKρ(1450, 1700)^+ \to KK for the three-body BB meson decays are considerable according to the total three-body branching fractions presented by Belle. Therefore, the decays B+→Dˉ0K+Kˉ0B^+ \to \bar{D}^0 K^+ \bar{K}^0, B0→D−K+Kˉ0B^0 \to D^- K^+ \bar{K}^0, and Bs0→Ds−K+Kˉ0B_s^0 \to D_s^-K^+ \bar{K}^0 can be employed to study the properties of ρ(1450)ρ(1450) and ρ(1700)ρ(1700) in the LHCb and Belle-II experiments.

Contributions of the kaon pair from ρ(770)ρ(770) for the three-body decays B→DKKˉB \to D K\bar{K}

We study the contributions of the kaon pair originating from the resonance ρ(770)ρ(770) for the three-body decays B→DKKˉB \to D K\bar{K} by employing the perturbative QCD approach. According to the predictions in this work, the contributions from the intermediate state ρ(770)0ρ(770)^0 are relatively small for the three-body decays such as B0→Dˉ0K+K−B^0 \to \bar{D}^0 K^+ K^-, Bs0→Dˉ0K+K−B_s^0 \to \bar{D}^0 K^+ K^-, and B+→Ds+K+K−B^+ \to D_s^+ K^+K^-, while about 20%20\% of the total three-body branching fraction for B+→Dˉ0K+Kˉ0B^+ \to \bar{D}^0 K^+ \bar{K}^0 could possibly come from the subprocess ρ(770)+→K+Kˉ0ρ(770)^+\to K^+ \bar{K}^0. We also estimate the branching fractions for ρ(770)±ρ(770)^\pm decay into the kaon pair to be about 1%1\%, and that for the neutral ρ(770)ρ(770) decay into K+K−K^+K^- or K0Kˉ0K^0\bar{K}^0 to be about 0.5%0.5\%, which will be tested by future experiments.

Contributions of K0∗(1430)K^*_0(1430) and K0∗(1950)K^*_0(1950) in the three-body decays B→KπhB\to Kπh

We study the contributions of the resonant states K0∗(1430)K_0^{*}(1430) and K0∗(1950)K_0^{*}(1950) in the three-body decays B→KπhB\to Kπh (with h=π,Kh=π, K) in the perturbative QCD approach. The crucial nonperturbative input FKπ(s)F_{Kπ}(s) in the distribution amplitudes of the SS-wave KπKπ system is derived from the matrix element of vacuum to KπKπ pair. The CPCP averaged branching fraction of the quasi-two-body decay process B→K0∗(1950)h→KπhB\to K^*_0(1950)h\to Kπh is about one order smaller than that of the corresponding decay B→K0∗(1430)h→KπhB\to K^*_0(1430)h\to Kπh. In view of the important contribution from the SS-wave KπKπ system for the B→KπhB\to Kπh decays, it is not appropriate to neglect the K0∗(1950)K_0^{*}(1950) in the theoretical or experimental studies for the relevant three-body BB meson decays. The predictions in this work for the relevant decays are consistent with the existing experimental data.

Resonance contributions ϕ(1020,1680)→KKˉϕ(1020,1680)\to K\bar K for the three-body decays B→KKˉhB\to K\bar K h

We study the contributions for the K+K−K^+K^- and K0Kˉ0K^0\bar K^0 originated from the intermediate states ϕ(1020)ϕ(1020) and ϕ(1680)ϕ(1680) in the charmless three-body decays B→KKˉhB\to K\bar K h, with h=(π,K)h=(π, K), in the perturbative QCD approach. The subprocesses ϕ(1020,1680)→KKˉϕ(1020,1680)\to K\bar K are introduced into the distribution amplitudes of KKˉK\bar K system via the kaon electromagnetic form factors with the coefficients taken from the fitted results. The predictions of the branching fractions for the decays B→ϕ(1680)hB\toϕ(1680)h with the intermediate state ϕ(1680)ϕ(1680) decays into K+K−K^+K^- or K0Kˉ0K^0\bar K^0 are about 6%6\%-8%8\% of the corresponding results for the quasi-two-body decays B→ϕ(1020)h→K+K−hB\toϕ(1020)h \to K^+ K^- h in this work.

Will the subprocesses ρ(770,1450)0→K+K−ρ(770,1450)^0\to K^+K^- contribute large branching fractions for B±→π±K+K−B^\pm \to π^\pm K^+K^- decays?

We analyze the quasi-two-body decays B+→π+ρ(770,1450)0→π+K+K−B^+\toπ^+ρ(770,1450)^0 \toπ^+ K^+K^- in the perturbative QCD approach. The results in this work do not support that large branching fractions contributed by the resonances ρ(770,1450)0ρ(770,1450)^0 in the B±→π±K+K−B^\pm \to π^\pm K^+K^- decays. The virtual contribution for K+K−K^+K^- from the tail of the resonance ρ(770)0ρ(770)^0 which has been ignored in the experimental studies is about 1.51.5 times of the ρ(1450)0→K+K−ρ(1450)^0 \to K^+K^- contribution, with the predicted branching fractions Bv=(1.31±0.27)×10−7{\mathcal B}_v=(1.31\pm0.27)\times10^{-7} and B=(8.96±2.61)×10−8{\mathcal B}=(8.96\pm2.61)\times10^{-8}, respectively, for these two subprocesses in the B±→π±K+K−B^\pm \to π^\pm K^+K^- decays. The absence of ρ(770)0→K+K−ρ(770)^0\to K^+K^- for the decay amplitude of a three-body hadronic BB decay involving charged kaon pair could probably result in a larger proportion for the contribution from the resonance ρ(1450)0ρ(1450)^0 in the experimental analysis.

Quasi-two-body decays B→Kρ→KππB\to Kρ\to Kππ in perturbative QCD approach

We analyze the quasi-two-body decays B→Kρ→KππB\to Kρ\to Kππ in the perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach, in which final-state interactions between the pions in the resonant regions associated with the PP-wave states ρ(770)ρ(770) and ρ′(1450)ρ^\prime(1450) are factorized into two-pion distribution amplitudes. Adopting experimental inputs for the time-like pion form factors involved in two-pion distribution amplitudes, we calculate branching ratios and direct CPCP asymmetries of the B→Kρ(770),Kρ′(1450)→KππB\to Kρ(770),Kρ^\prime(1450)\to Kππ modes. It is shown that agreement of theoretical results with data can be achieved, through which Gegenbauer moments of the PP-wave two-pion distribution amplitudes are determined. The consistency between the three-body and two-body analyses of the B→Kρ(770)→KππB\to Kρ(770)\to Kππ decays supports the PQCD factorization framework for exclusive hadronic BB meson decays.

The SS-wave resonance contributions to the three-body decays B(s)0→ηcf0(X)→ηcπ+π−B^0_{(s)}\to η_c f_0(X)\to η_cπ^+π^- in perturbative QCD approach

In this paper, we study the three-body decays B0/Bs0→ηcf0(X)→ηcπ+π−B^0/B^0_s \to η_c f_0(X)\to η_c π^+π^- by employing the perturbative QCD (PQCD) factorization approach. We evaluate the SS-wave resonance contributions by using the two-pion distribution amplitude ΦππSΦ_{ππ}^{\rm S}. The Breit-Wigner formula for the f0(500)f_0(500), f0(1500)f_0(1500), and f0(1790)f_0(1790) resonances and the Flatté model for the f0(980)f_0(980) resonance are adopted to parameterize the time-like scalar form factors Fs(ω2)F_{s}(ω^2). We also use the D.~V.~Bugg model to parameterize the f0(500)f_0(500) and compare the relevant theoretical predictions from different models. We found the following results: (a) the PQCD predictions for the branching ratios are B(B0→ηcf0(500)[π+π−])=(1.53−0.35+0.76)×10−6{\cal B}(B^0\to η_c f_0(500)[π^+π^-])= \left ( 1.53 ^{+0.76}_{-0.35} \right ) \times 10^{-6} for Breit-Wigner model and B(B0→ηcf0(500)[π+π−])=(2.31−0.48+0.96)×10−6{\cal B}(B^0\to η_c f_0(500)[π^+π^-])= \left ( 2.31 ^{+0.96}_{-0.48} \right ) \times 10^{-6} for D.~V.~Bugg model; (b) B(Bs→ηcf0(X)[π+π−])=(5.02−1.08+1.49)×10−5 {\cal B}(B_s\to η_c f_0(X)[π^+π^-] ) =\left ( 5.02^{+1.49}_{-1.08} \right )\times 10^{-5} when the contributions from f0(X)=(f0(980),f0(1500),f0(1790))f_0(X)=(f_0(980),f_0(1500),f_0(1790)) are all taken into account; and (c) The considered decays could be measured at the ongoing LHCb experiment, consequently, the formalism of two-hadron distribution amplitudes could also be tested by such experiments.

SS-wave resonance contributions to the B(s)0→J/ψπ+π−B^0_{(s)}\to J/ψπ^+π^- and Bs→π+π−μ+μ−B_s\toπ^+π^-μ^+μ^- decays

We study SS-wave resonance contributions to the B(s)0→J/ψπ+π−B^0_{(s)}\to J/ψπ^+π^- and Bs→π+π−ℓ+ℓ−B_s\toπ^+π^-\ell^+\ell^- decays in the perturbative QCD (PQCD) framework by introducing two-hadron distribution amplitudes for final states. The Breit-Wigner formula for the f0(500)f_0(500), f0(1500)f_0(1500) and f0(1790)f_0(1790) resonances and the Flatté model for the f0(980)f_0(980) resonance are adopted to parameterize the time-like scalar form factors in the two-pion distribution amplitudes, which include both resonant and nonresonant contributions. The resultant branching fraction and differential branching fraction in the pion-pair invariant mass for each resonance channel are consistent with experimental data. The determined SS-wave two-pion distribution amplitudes, containing the information of both resonant and nonresonant rescattering phases, can be employed to predict direct CP asymmetries of other three-body hadronic BB meson decays in various localized regions of two-pion phase space.

The Bc→ψ(2S)πB_c\rightarrow ψ(2S)π, ηc(2S)πη_c(2S)π decays in the perturbative QCD approach

Nonleptonic two body BcB_c decays including radially excited ψ(2S)ψ(2S) or ηc(2S)η_c(2S) mesons in the final state are studied using the perturbative QCD approach based on kTk_T factorization. The charmonium distribution amplitudes are extracted from the n=2,l=0n = 2, l = 0 Schro¨\ddot{o}dinger states for the harmonic oscillator potential. Utilizing these distribution amplitudes, we calculate the numerical results of the Bc→ψ(2S),ηc(2S)B_c\rightarrow ψ(2S),η_c(2S) transition form factors and branching fractions of Bc→ψ(2S)π,ηc(2S)πB_c\rightarrow ψ(2S)π, η_c(2S)π decays. The ratio between two decay modes Bc→ψ(2S)πB_c\rightarrow ψ(2S)π and Bc→J/ψπB_c\rightarrow J/ψπ is compatible with the experimental data within uncertainties, which indicate that the harmonic oscillator wave functions for ψ(2S)ψ(2S) and ηc(2S)η_c(2S) work well. It is found that the branching fraction of Bc→ηc(2S)πB_c\rightarrow η_c(2S)π, which is dominated by the twist-3 charmonium distribution amplitude, can reach the order of 10−310^{-3}. We hope it can be measured soon in the LHCb experiment.

Direct CP asymmetries of three-body BB decays in perturbative QCD

We propose a theoretical framework for analyzing three-body hadronic BB meson decays based on the perturbative QCD approach. The crucial nonperturbative input is a two-hadron distribution amplitude for final states, whose involved time-like form factor and rescattering phase are fit to relevant experimental data. Together with the short-distance strong phase from the bb-quark decay kernel, we are able to make predictions for direct CP asymmetries in, for example, the B±→π+π−π±B^\pm \to π^+ π^- π^\pm and π+π−K±π^+π^-K^\pm modes, which are consistent with the LHCb data in various localized regions of phase space. Applications of our formalism to other three-body hadronic and radiative BB meson decays are mentioned.

Semileptonic decays B→D(∗)lνB \to D^{(*)} lν in the perturbative QCD factorization approach

In this paper, we study the B→D(∗)l−νˉlB \to D^{(*)} l^- \barν_{\rm l} semileptonic decays and calculate the branching ratios B(B→D(∗)l−νˉl){\cal B}(B \to D^{(*)} l^- \barν_{\rm l}) and the ratios R(D(∗))R(D^{(*)}) and RDl,τR_{\rm D}^{\rm l,τ} by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. We find that (a) for R(D)R(D) and R(D∗)R(D^*) ratios, the pQCD predictions are R(D)=0.430−0.026+0.021R(D)=0.430^{+0.021}_{-0.026}, R(D∗)=0.301±0.013R(D^*)=0.301 \pm 0.013 and agree well with BaBar's measurements of R(D(∗))R(D^{(*)}); (b) for the newly defined RDlR_{\rm D}^{\rm l} and RDτR_{\rm D}^{\rm τ} ratios, the pQCD predictions are RDl=0.450−0.051+0.064R_{\rm D}^{\rm l} = 0.450^{+0.064}_{-0.051} and RDτ=0.642−0.070+0.081R_{\rm D}^{\rm τ} =0.642^{+0.081}_{-0.070}, which may be more sensitive to the QCD dynamics of the considered semileptonic decays than R(D(∗))R(D^{(*)}) and should be tested by experimental measurements.

Semileptonic decays Bc+→D(s)(∗)(l+ν,l+l−,ννˉ)B_c^+\to D^{(*)}_{(s)}(l^+ν,l^+l^-,ν\barν) in the perturbative QCD approach

In this paper we study the semileptonic decays of Bc+→D(s)(∗)(l+νl,l+l−,ννˉ)B_c^+\to D^{(*)}_{(s)}(l^+ν_l,l^+l^-,ν\barν) (here ll stands for ee, μμ, or ττ). After evaluating the Bc+→(D(s),D(s)∗)B_c^+ \to (D_{(s)},D^*_{(s)}) transition form factors F0,+,T(q2)F_{0,+,T}(q^2) and V(q2),A0,1,2(q2),T1,2,3(q2)V(q^2), A_{0,1,2}(q^2), T_{1,2,3}(q^2) by employing the perturbative QCD factorization approach, we calculate the branching ratios for all these semileptonic decays. Our predictions for the values of the Bc+→D(s)B_c^+ \to D_{(s)} and Bc+→D(s)∗B_c^+ \to D^*_{(s)} transition form factors are consistent with those obtained by using other methods. The branching ratios of the decay modes with νˉν\barνν are almost an order of magnitude larger than the corresponding decays with l+l−l^+l^- after the summation over the three neutrino generations. The branching ratios for the decays with b→db\to d transitions are much smaller than those decays with the b→sb\to s transitions, due to the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa suppression. We define ratios RDR_D and RD∗R_{D^*} for the branching ratios with the ττ lepton versus μμ, ee lepton final states to cancel the uncertainties of the form factors, which could possibly be tested in the near future.

The semileptonic decays of B/BsB/B_s meson in the perturbative QCD approach: A short review

In this short review, we present the current status about the theoretical and experimental studies for some important semileptonic decays of B/BsB/B_s mesons. We firstly gave a brief introduction for the experimental measurements for B/Bs→P(l+l−,l−νˉl,ννˉ)B/B_s \to P (l^+l^-, l^-\barν_l, ν\barν) decays, the BaBar's R(D)R(D) and R(D∗)R(D^*) anomaly, the P5′P_5^\prime deviation for B0→K∗0μ+μ−B^0 \to K^{*0} μ^+ μ^- decay. We then made a careful discussion about the evaluations for the relevant form factors in the light-cone QCD sum rule (LCSRs), the heavy quark effective theory, and the perturbative QCD factorization approach. By using the form factors calculated in the perturbative (pQCD) approach, we then calculate and show the pQCD predictions for the decay rates of many semileptonic decays of B/BsB/B_s mesons. We also made careful phenomenological analysis for these pQCD predictions and found, in general, the following points: (a) For all the considered B/BsB/B_s semileptonic decays, the next-to-leading order (NLO) pQCD predictions for their decay rates agree well with the data and those from other different theoretical methods; (b) For R(D)R(D) and R(D∗)R(D^*), the pQCD predictions agree very well with the data, the BaBar's anomaly of R(D(∗))R(D^{(*)}) are therefore explained successfully in the standard model by employing the pQCD approach; and (c) We defined several new ratios RDl,τR_D^{l,τ} and RDsl,τR_{D_s}^{l,τ}, they may be more sensitive to the QCD dynamics which controls the B/Bs→(D(∗),Ds(∗))B/B_s \to (D^{(*)},D_s^{(*)}) transitions than the old ratios, we therefore strongly suggest LHCb and the forthcoming Super-B experiments to measure these new ratios.

Anatomy of B→Kη(′)B \to K η^{(\prime)} decays in different mixing schemes and effects of next-to-leading order contributions in the perturbative QCD approach

In this paper we perform a comprehensive study of the four $B \to K \etap$ decays in the pQCD factorization approach. We calculate the CP-averaged branching ratios and CP-violating asymmetries of $B \to K\etap$ decays in the ordinary ηη-$\etar$, the ηη-$\etar$-GG, and the ηη-$\etar$-GG-ηcη_c mixing schemes. Besides the full LO contributions, all currently known NLO contributions to $B \to K \etap$ decays in the pQCD approach are taken into account. From our calculations and phenomenological analysis, we find the following. (a) The NLO contributions in general can provide significant enhancements to the LO pQCD predictions for the decay rates of the two $B \to K \etar$ decays, around 7070%-89% in magnitude, but result in relatively small changes to Br(B→Kη)Br(B \to K η). (b) Although the NLO pQCD predictions in all three considered mixing schemes agree well with the data within one standard deviation, those pQCD predictions in the ηη-$\etar$-GG mixing scheme provide the best interpretation for the measured pattern of $Br(B \to K \etap)$: Br(B0→K0η)≈1.13×10−6Br(B^0 \to K^0 η) \approx 1.13\times 10^{-6}, $Br(B^0 \to K^0 \etar) \approx 66.5 \times 10^{-6}$, Br(B±→K±η)≈2.36×10−6Br(B^\pm \to K^\pm η) \approx 2.36\times 10^{-6}, and $Br(B^\pm \to K^\pm \etar) \approx 67.3 \times 10^{-6}$, which agree perfectly with the measured values. (c) The NLO pQCD predictions for the CP-violating asymmetries for the four considered decays are also in good consistent with the data. (d) The newly known NLO contribution to the relevant form factors $\calm_{FF}$ can produce about a 20% enhancement to the branching ratios $Br(B \to K \etar)$, which plays an important role in closing the gap between the pQCD predictions and the relevant data. (e) The general expectations about the relative strength of the LO and NLO contributions from different sources are examined and confirmed by explicit numerical calculations.

Revisiting KπKπ puzzle in the pQCD factorization approach

In this paper, we calculated the branching ratios and direct CP violation of the four B→KπB\to Kπ decays with the inclusion of all currently known next-to-leading order (NLO) contributions by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. We found that (a) Besides the 10% enhancement from the NLO vertex corrections, the quark-loops and magnetic penguins, the NLO contributions to the form factors can provide an additional ∼15\sim 15% enhancement to the branching ratios, and lead to a very good agreement with the data; (b) The NLO pQCD predictions are $\acp^{dir}(B^0\to K^+π^-)=(-6.5\pm 3.1)%$ and $\acp^{dir}(B^+\to K^+ π^0)=(2.2\pm 2.0)%$, become well consistent with the data due to the inclusion of the NLO contributions.

Semileptonic decays Bc→(ηc,J/Ψ)lνB_c\to(η_c,J/Ψ)lν in the perturbative QCD approach

In this paper we study the semileptonic decays of Bc−→(ηc,J/ψ)l−νˉlB_c^- \to (η_c,J/ψ)l^-\barν_l. We firstly evaluate the Bc→(ηc,J/Ψ)B_c \to (η_c,J/Ψ) transition form factors F0(q2)F_0(q^2), F+(q2)F_+(q^2), V(q2)V(q^2) and A0,1,2(q2)A_{0,1,2}(q^2) by employing the pQCD factorization approach, and then we calculate the branching ratios for all considered semileptonic decays. Based on the numerical results and the phenomenological analysis, we find that: (a) the pQCD predictions for the values of the Bc→ηcB_c \to η_c and Bc→J/ΨB_c \to J/Ψ transition form factors agree well with those obtained by using other methods; (b) the pQCD predictions for the branching ratios of the considered decays are Br(Bc−→ηce−νˉe(μ−νˉμ))=(4.41−1.09+1.22)×10−3Br\left(B_c^- \toη_c e^-\barν_e(μ^-\barν_μ)\right) =(4.41^{+1.22}_{-1.09})\times10^{-3}, Br(Bc−→ηcτ−νˉτ)=(1.37−0.34+0.37)×10−3Br\left(B_c^- \toη_cτ^-\barν_τ\right) =(1.37^{+0.37}_{-0.34})\times10^{-3}, Br(Bc−→J/Ψe−νˉe(μ−νˉμ))=(10.03−1.18+1.33)×10−3Br(B_c^- \to J/Ψe^-\barν_e(μ^-\barν_μ)) =(10.03^{+1.33}_{-1.18})\times10^{-3}, and Br(Bc−→J/Ψτ−νˉτ)=(2.92−0.34+0.40)×10−3Br\left(B_c^- \to J/Ψτ^-\barν_τ\right) =(2.92^{+0.40}_{-0.34})\times10^{-3}; and (c) we also define and calculate two ratios of the branching ratios RηcR_{η_c} and RJ/ΨR_{J/Ψ}, which will be tested by LHCb and the forthcoming Super-B experiments.

Semileptonic decays $B/B_s \to (η,\etar, G)(l^+l^-,l\barν,ν\barν)$ in the perturbative QCD approach beyond the leading order

In this paper we make a systematic study of the semileptonic decays $B/B_s \to (η,\etar, G)(l^+l^-,l\barν,ν\barν)$ by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. The next-to-leading-order (NLO) contributions to the relevant form factors are included, and the ordinary ηη-$\etar$ mixing scheme and the ηη-$\etar$-GG mixing scheme are considered separately, where GG denotes a pseudoscalar glueball. The numerical results and the phenomenological analysis indicate that (a) the NLO contributions to the relevant form factors provide 25% enhancement to the leading-order pQCD predictions for the branching ratios Br(B−→η(′)l−νˉl)Br(B^-\to η^{(')} l^-\barν_l), leading to a good agreement between the predictions and the data; (b) for all considered decays, the pQCD results are basically consistent with those from other different theoretical models; (c) the pQCD predictions in the two considered mixing schemes agree well with each other within theoretical errors. The outcomes presented here can be tested by LHCb and forthcoming Super-BB experiments.

Study of Bˉs0→(Ds+,Ds∗+)l−νˉl\bar{B}_s^0 \to (D_s^+,D_s^{*+}) l^-\barν_l decays in the pQCD factorization approach

The Bˉs0→Ds(∗)+l−νˉl\bar{B}_s^0 \to D_s^{(*)+} l^- \barν_l semileptonic decays were calculated in the framework of the standard model (SM) by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. We defined four ratios of the branching ratios of the considered decays R(Ds(∗))R(D_s^{(*)}) and RDsl,τR_{D_s}^{l,τ}. From the numerical results and phenomenological analysis we found that: (a) The pQCD predictions for the branching ratios Br(Bˉs0→Ds(∗)+l−νˉl)Br(\bar{B}_s^0 \to D_s^{(*)+} l^-\barν_l) generally agree well with the previous theoretical predictions; (b) For the four ratios, the pQCD predictions are R(Ds)=0.392±0.022R(D_s)= 0.392 \pm 0.022, R(Ds∗)=0.302±0.011R(D_s^{*})= 0.302\pm 0.011, RDsl=0.448−0.041+0.058R_{D_{s}}^l=0.448^{+0.058}_{-0.041} and RDsτ=0.582−0.045+0.071R_{D_{s}}^τ=0.582^{+0.071}_{-0.045}, which show a very good SU(3)FSU(3)_F flavor symmetry with the corresponding ratios for B→D(∗)l−νˉlB\to D^{(*)} l^- \barν_l decays; and (c) we strongly suggest the measurements of the new ratios R(Ds(∗))R(D_s^{(*)}) and RDsl,τR_{D_{s}}^{l,τ} in the forthcoming Super-B experiments.

Revisiting the pure annihilation decays Bs→π+π−B_s\to π^+ π^- and B0→K+K−B^0 \to K^+ K^-: the data and the pQCD predictions

In this work, we recalculate the charmless pure annihilation decays Bs→π+π−B_s\to π^+ π^- and B0→K+K−B^0 \to K^+ K^- by using the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach, and compare the pQCD predictions with currently available experimental measurements. We used the same set of relevant input parameters and wave functions to make the calculations for the considered decay modes and found the following results: (a) one can provide a consistent pQCD interpretation for both the measured Br(Bs0→π+π−)Br(B_s^0 \to π^+ π^-) and Br(Bd0→K+K−)Br(B_d^0 \to K^+ K^-) simultaneously; (b) the pQCD predictions for Br(Bs0→π+π−)Br(B_s^0 \to π^+π^-) obtained by different authors are well consistent with each other; (c) our new pQCD prediction for Br(Bd0→K+K−)Br(B_d^0 \to K^+K^-) agree very well with the measured values from CDF and LHCb Collaboration; and (d) the CP-violating asymmetry ACP(Bd0→K+K−)≈16{\cal A}_{CP}(B_d^0 \to K^+K^-) \approx 16%, which is large and may be detected at the LHCb experiment.

The semileptonic decays B/Bs→(π,K)(l+l−,lν,ννˉ)B/B_s \to (π, K)(l^+l^-,lν,ν\barν) in the perturbative QCD approach beyond the leading-order

In this paper we first calculate the form factors of B→(π,K)B \to (π,K) and Bs→KB_s \to K transitions by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach with the inclusion of the next-to-leading-order(NLO) corrections, and then we calculate the branching ratios of the corresponding semileptonic decays B/Bs→(π,K)(l+l−,lν,ννˉ)B/B_s \to (π, K)(l^+l^-,lν,ν\barν) (here ll denotes e,μe, μ and ττ). Based on the numerical calculations and phenomenological analysis, we found the following results: (a) For B→(π,K)B \to (π, K) and Bs→KB_s \to K transition form factors $F_{0,+,\rmt}(q^2)$, the NLO pQCD predictions for the values of $F_{0,+,\rmt}(0)$ and their q2q^2-dependence agree well with those obtained from other methods; (b) For Bˉ0→π+l−νˉl,Kˉ0l+l−\bar{B}^0 \to π^+l^-\barν_l, \bar{K}^0 l^+ l^- and B−→π0l−νˉl,K−l+l−B^- \to π^0 l^-\barν_l, K^- l^+ l^- decay modes, the NLO pQCD predictions for their branching ratios agree very well with the measured values; (c) By comparing the pQCD predictions for Br(Bˉ0→π+l−νˉl)Br(\bar{B}^0 \to π^+l^-\barν_l) with the measured decay rate we extract out the magnitude of VubV_{ub}: ∣Vub∣=(3.80−0.50+0.56(theor.))×10−3|V_{ub}|= (3.80^{+0.56}_{-0.50}(theor.)) \times 10^{-3}; (d) We also defined several ratios of the branching ratios, Rν,RCR_ν, R_C and RN1,N2,N3R_{N1,N2,N3}, and presented the corresponding pQCD predictions, which will be tested by LHCb and the forthcoming Super-B experiments.
