Probing isovector scalar mesons in the charmless three-body BB decays

We propose to study the multiparticle configurations of isovector scalar mesons, saying a0(980)a_0(980) and a0(1450)a_0(1450), in the charmless three-body BB decays by considering the width effects. Two scenarios of a0a_0 configurations are assumed, in which the first one take a0(980)a_0(980) as the lowest-lying qqˉq{\bar q} state and a0(1450)a_0(1450) as the first radial excited state, the second one take a0(1450)a_0(1450) as the lowest-lying qqˉq{\bar q} state and a0(1950)a_0(1950) as the first radial excited state while a0(980)a_0(980) is not a qqˉq{\bar q} state. Within these two scenarios, we do the PQCD calculation for the quasi-two-body B→a0[→KKˉ/πη]hB \to a_0 \left[\to K{\bar K}/πη\right] h decays and extract the corresponding branching fractions of two-body B→a0hB \to a_0 h decays under the narrow width approximation. Our predictions show that the first scenario of a0(980)a_0(980) configuration can not be excluded by the available measurements in BB decays, the contributions from a0(1450)a_0(1450) to the branching fractions in most channels are comparable in the first and second scenarios. Several channels are suggested for the forthcoming experimental measurements to reveal the multiparticle configurations of a0a_0, such as the channel B0→a0−(980)[→π−η]π+B^0 \to a_0^-(980) \left[\to π^-η\right] π^+ with the largest predicted branching fraction, the channels B0→a0±(1450)[→K±Kˉ0,π±η]π∓B^0 \to a_0^{\pm}(1450) \left[\to K^\pm{\bar K}^0, π^\pmη\right] π^\mp whose branching fractions obtained in the second scenario is about three times larger in magnitude than that obtained in the first scenario, and also the channels B+→a0+(1950)[K+Kˉ0/π+η]K0B^+ \to a_0^+(1950) \left[ K^+{\bar K}^0/π^+η\right] K^0 whose branching fractions are linear dependent on the partial width Γa0(1950)→KK/πηΓ_{a_0(1950) \to KK/πη}.

The PQCD approach towards to next-to-leading order: a short review

In this short review we elaborate the significance of resummation in kTk_T factorization theorem, and summarize the recent progresses in the calculations of the next-to-leading order contributions to B meson decays from the perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach. We also comment on the current status of the PQCD approach and highlight some key issues to develop it in the near future for more phenomenological applications.

Bˉs→f0(980)\bar{B}_s \to f_0(980) form factors and the width effect from light-cone sum rules

In this paper we calculate the Bˉs→f0(980)\bar{B}_s \to f_0(980) form factors from light-cone sum rules with BB meson DAs. With adopting the quark-antiquark configuration of light scalar mesons, the high twist two-particle and the three-particle contributions are found to be ∼25%\sim 25\% individual, and totally they give about 50%50\% correction to certain form factors in the considered energy regions. We further explore the light-cone sum rules approach to study the S−S-wave Bˉs→KK\bar{B}_s \to KK form factors, the f0+f0′+f0′′f_0+f'_0+f''_0 resonance model is proposed and the result shows that the background effect from f0′+f0′′f'_0+f''_0 accounts ∼5%\sim 5\%. As a by-product, we extract the strong coupling ∣gf0KK∣=1.08−0.14+0.05|g_{f_0 KK }| = 1.08^{+0.05}_{-0.14} GeV with taking the Bˉs→f0(980)\bar{B}_s \to f_0(980) form factors calculated previous under the narrow width approximation.

The perturbative QCD factorization of ργ⋆→ρργ^{\star} \to ρ

In this paper we firstly demonstrate step by step that the factorization hypothesis is valid at the next-to-leading order (NLO) for the exclusive process ργ⋆→ρργ^{\star} \to ρ by employing the collinear factorization approach, and then extend this proof to the case of the kTk_T factorization by taking into account the transversal momentum of the light external quark (anti-quark) lines in the ρρ meson. At the NLO level, we then show that the soft divergences from different sub-diagrams will be canceled each other in the quark level, while the remaining collinear divergences can be absorbed into the NLO meson wave functions. The full NLO amplitudes can therefore be factorized as the convolution of the NLO wave functions Φρ(1) Φ^{(1)}_ρ and the infrared-finite leading order (LO) hard kernels GX,IJ,kl0G^0_{X,IJ,kl} in the kTk_T factorization. We also write down the polarized NLO ρρ meson wave functions in the form of nonlocal hadron matrix elements with the gauge factor integral path deviating from the light cone. These NLO ρρ meson wave functions can be used to calculate the NLO hard corrections to some relevant exclusive processes, such as B→ρB \to ρ transition.

The ργ∗→π(ρ)ργ^* \to π(ρ) transition form factors in the Perturbative QCD factorization approach

In this paper, we studied the ργ∗→πργ^* \to π and ργ∗→ρργ^*\to ρ transition processes and made the calculations for the ρπρπ transition form factor Q4Fρπ(Q2)Q^4 F_{ρπ}(Q^2) and the ρρ meson electromagnetic form factors, FLL,LT,TT(Q2)F_{\rm LL, LT,TT}(Q^2) and F1,2,3(Q2)F_{1,2,3}(Q^2), by employing the perturbative QCD (PQCD) factorization approach. For the ργ∗→πργ^* \to π transition, we found that the contribution to form factor Q4Fρπ(Q)Q^4 F_{ρπ}(Q) from the term proportional to the distribution amplitude combination ϕρT(x1)ϕπP(x2)ϕ^T_ρ(x_1)ϕ^P_π(x_2) is absolutely dominant, and the PQCD predictions for both the size and the Q2Q^2-dependence of this form factor Q4Fρπ(Q2)Q^4 F_{ρπ}(Q^2) agree well with those from the extended ADS/QCD models or the light-cone QCD sum rule. For the ργ∗→ρργ^* \to ρ transition and in the region of Q2≥3Q^2\geq 3 GeV2^2, further more, we found that the PQCD predictions for the magnitude and their Q2Q^2-dependence of the F1(Q2)F_1(Q^2) and F2(Q2)F_2(Q^2) form factors agree well with those from the QCD sum rule, while the PQCD prediction for F3(Q2)F_3(Q^2) is much larger than the one from the QCD sum rule.

The NLO contributions to the scalar pion form factors and the O(αs2){\cal O}(α_s^2) annihilation corrections to the B→ππB\to ππ decays

In this paper, by employing the kTk_{T} factorization theorem, we made the first calculation for the space-like scalar pion form factor Q2F(Q2)Q^2 F(Q^2) at the leading order (LO) and the next-to-leading order (NLO) level, and then found the time-like scalar pion form factor Fa,I′(1)F'^{(1)}_{\rm a,I} by analytic continuation from the space-like one. From the analytical evaluations and the numerical results, we found the following points: (a) the NLO correction to the space-like scalar pion form factor has an opposite sign with the LO one but is very small in magnitude, can produce at most 10%10\% decrease to LO result in the considered Q2Q^2 region; (b) the NLO time-like scalar pion form factor Fa,I′(1)F'^{(1)}_{\rm a,I} describes the O(αs2){\cal O}(α_s^2) contribution to the factorizable annihilation diagrams of the considered B→ππB \to ππ decays, i.e. the NLO annihilation correction; (c) the NLO part of the form factor Fa,I′(1)F'^{(1)}_{\rm a,I} is very small in size, and is almost independent with the variation of cutoff scale μ0μ_0, but this form factor has a large strong phase around −55∘-55^\circ and may play an important role in producing large CP violation for B→ππB\to ππ decays; and (d) for B0→π+π−B^0 \to π^+π^- and π0π0 π^0π^0 decays, the newly known NLO annihilation correction can produce only a very small enhancement to their branching ratios, less than 3%3\% in magnitude, and therefore we could not interpret the well-known ππππ-puzzle by the inclusion of this NLO correction to the factorizable annihilation diagrams.

Time-like pion electromagnetic form factors in kTk_{T} factorization with the Next-to-leading-order twist-3 contribution

We calculate the time-like pion electromagnetic form factor in the kTk_T factorization formalism with the inclusion of the next-to-leading-order(NLO) corrections to the leading-twist and sub-leading-twist contributions. It's found that the total NLO correction can enhance (reduce) the magnitude (strong phase) of the leading order form factor by 20%−30%20\% - 30\% ( <15o< 15^o) in the considered invariant mass squared q2>5q^2 > 5 GeV2^2, and the NLO twist-3 correction play the key role to narrow the gap between the pQCD predictions and the measured values for the time-like pion electromagnetic form factor.

Bˉs0→Kπ,KK\bar{B}^0_s \to Kπ,KK decays and effects of the next-to-leading order contribution

By employing the perturbative QCD(pQCD) factorization approach, we calculate the branching ratios and CP violating asymmetries of the four Bˉs0→Kπ\bar{B}_s^0 \to Kπ and KKK K decays, with the inclusion of all known next-to-leading order (NLO) contributions. We find numerically that (a) the NLO contribution can interfere with the LO part constructively or destructively for different decay modes; (b) the NLO contribution leads to a 22%22\% decrease for Br(Bˉs0→K+π−)Br(\bar{B}^0_s \to K^+ π^-), but ∼50%\sim 50\% enhancements to other three considered Bˉs\bar{B}_s decays, and therefore play an important role in interpreting the measured values of the branching ratios; and (c) for both Bˉs0→K+π−\bar{B}_s^0 \to K^+ π^- and Bˉs0→K+K−\bar{B}_s^0 \to K^+K^- decays, the NLO pQCD predictions for the direct and mixing induced CP-violating asymmetries agree very well with the measured values in both the sign and the magnitude.

B→ππB\to ππ decays and effects of the next-to-leading order contributions

In this paper we perform a systematic study for the three B→(π+π−,π+π0,π0π0)B \to (π^+π^-,π^+π^0,π^0π^0) decays in the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach with the inclusion of all currently known next-to-leading order (NLO) contributions from various sources. We found that (a) for the CP-averaged decay rates Br(B0→π+π−)Br(B^0\to π^+π^-) and Br(B+→π+π0)Br(B^+\to π^+π^0), the NLO pQCD predictions agree with the data within one standard dviation; (b) for Br(B0→π0π0)Br(B^0\to π^0π^0), however, although the NLO contributions can provide a ∼100%\sim 100\% enhancement to the leading order (LO) result, it is still not large enough to interpret the data; (c) for the CP-violating asymmetries of B0→π+π−B^0\to π^+π^- decay, the central values of the NLO PQCD predictions agree with the data; and (d) we also examined the relative strength of the LO and NLO contributions from different sources.

Left-right twin Higgs model confronted with the latest LHC Higgs data

Motivated by the latest LHC Higgs data, we calculate the new physics contributions to the Higgs decay channels of h→γγ,Zγ,ττ,WW∗h\to γγ, Zγ, ττ, WW^* and ZZ∗ ZZ^* in the left-right twin Higgs (LRTH) model, induced by the loops involving the heavy T-quark, the WHW_H and ϕ±ϕ^\pm bosons appeared in the LRTH model. We find that (a) for a SM-like Higgs boson around 125.5 GeV, the signal rates normalized to the corresponding standard model (SM) predictions are always suppressed when new physics contributions are taken into account and approach the SM predictions for a large scalar parameter ff; and (b) the LRTH prediction for RγγR_{γγ} agree well with the CMS measurement Rγγ=0.77±0.27R_{γγ}=0.77\pm 0.27 at 1σ1σ level, but differ with the ATLAS result. The forthcoming precision measurement of the diphoton signal at the LHC can be a sensitive probe for the LRTH model.

Semileptonic decays B→D(∗)lνB \to D^{(*)} lν in the perturbative QCD factorization approach

In this paper, we study the B→D(∗)l−νˉlB \to D^{(*)} l^- \barν_{\rm l} semileptonic decays and calculate the branching ratios B(B→D(∗)l−νˉl){\cal B}(B \to D^{(*)} l^- \barν_{\rm l}) and the ratios R(D(∗))R(D^{(*)}) and RDl,τR_{\rm D}^{\rm l,τ} by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. We find that (a) for R(D)R(D) and R(D∗)R(D^*) ratios, the pQCD predictions are R(D)=0.430−0.026+0.021R(D)=0.430^{+0.021}_{-0.026}, R(D∗)=0.301±0.013R(D^*)=0.301 \pm 0.013 and agree well with BaBar's measurements of R(D(∗))R(D^{(*)}); (b) for the newly defined RDlR_{\rm D}^{\rm l} and RDτR_{\rm D}^{\rm τ} ratios, the pQCD predictions are RDl=0.450−0.051+0.064R_{\rm D}^{\rm l} = 0.450^{+0.064}_{-0.051} and RDτ=0.642−0.070+0.081R_{\rm D}^{\rm τ} =0.642^{+0.081}_{-0.070}, which may be more sensitive to the QCD dynamics of the considered semileptonic decays than R(D(∗))R(D^{(*)}) and should be tested by experimental measurements.

The NLO twist-3 contribution to the pion electromagnetic form factors in kTk_{T} factorization

In this paper, by employing the kTk_{T} factorization theorem, we calculate firstly the next-to-leading-order (NLO) twist-3 contributions to the pion electromagnetic form factors in the πγ∗→ππγ^* \to π process. From the analytical and numerical calculations we find the following points: (a) For the leading order (LO) twist-2, twist-3 and the NLO twist-2 contributions, our results agree very well with those obtained in previous works; (b) We extract out two factors FT3(1)(xi,t,Q2)F^{(1)}_{\rm T3}(x_i,t,Q^2) and $\ov{F}^{(1)}_{\rm T3}(x_i,t,Q^2)$, which describe directly the NLO twist-3 contributions to the pion electromagnetic form factors F+(Q2)F^+(Q^2); (c) The NLO twist-3 contribution is negative in sign and cancel partially with the NLO twist-2 part, the total NLO contribution can therefore provide a roughly ±20%\pm 20\% corrections to the total LO contribution in the considered ranges of Q2Q^2; and (d) The theoretical predictions for Q2F+(Q2)Q^2 F^+(Q^2) in the low-Q2Q^2 region agree well with currently available data, this agreement can be improved by the inclusion of the NLO contributions.

The NLO twist-3 contributions to B→πB \to π form factors in kTk_{T} factorization

In this paper, we calculate the next-to-leading-order (NLO) twist-3 contribution to the form factors of B→πB \to π transitions by employing the kTk_{T} factorization theorem. All the infrared divergences regulated by the logarithms ln⁡(kiT2)\ln(k_{iT}^{2}) cancel between those from the quark diagrams and from the effective diagrams for the initial BB meson wave function and the final pion meson wave function. An infrared finite NLO hard kernel is therefore obtained, which confirms the application of the kTk_{T} factorization theorem to BB meson semileptonic decays at twist-3 level. From our analytical and numerical evaluations, we find that the NLO twist-3 contributions to the form factors f+,0(q2)f^{+,0}(q^2) of B→πB \to π transition are similar in size, but have an opposite sign with the NLO twist-2 contribution, which leads to a large cancelation between these two NLO parts. For the case of f+(0)f^+(0), for example, the 24%24\% NLO twist-2 enhancement to the full LO prediction is largely canceled by the negative ( about −17%-17\% ) NLO twist-3 contribution, leaving a small and stable 7%7\% enhancement to the full LO prediction in the whole range of 0≤q2≤120\leq q^2\leq 12 GeV2^2. At the full NLO level, the perturbative QCD prediction is FB→π(0)=0.269−0.050+0.054F^{B \to π}(0)=0.269^{+0.054}_{-0.050}. We also studied the possible effects on the pQCD predictions when different sets of the B meson and pion distribution amplitudes are used in the numerical evaluation.

The perturbative QCD factorization of ργ⋆→πργ^{\star} \to π

In this paper, we firstly varify that the factorization hypothesis is valid for the exclusive process ργ⋆→πργ^{\star} \to π at the next-to-leading order (NLO) with the collinear factorization approach, and then extend this proof to the case of the kTk_T factorization approach. We particularly show that at the NLO level, the soft divergences in the full quark level calculation could be canceled completely as for the πγ⋆→ππγ^{\star} \to π process where only the pseudoscalar ππ meson involved, and the remaining collinear divergences can be absorbed into the NLO hadron wave functions. The full amplitudes can be factorized as the convolution of the NLO wave functions and the infrared-finite hard kernels with these factorization approaches. We also write out the NLO meson distribution amplitudes in the form of nonlocal matrix elements.

The semileptonic decays of B/BsB/B_s meson in the perturbative QCD approach: A short review

In this short review, we present the current status about the theoretical and experimental studies for some important semileptonic decays of B/BsB/B_s mesons. We firstly gave a brief introduction for the experimental measurements for B/Bs→P(l+l−,l−νˉl,ννˉ)B/B_s \to P (l^+l^-, l^-\barν_l, ν\barν) decays, the BaBar's R(D)R(D) and R(D∗)R(D^*) anomaly, the P5′P_5^\prime deviation for B0→K∗0μ+μ−B^0 \to K^{*0} μ^+ μ^- decay. We then made a careful discussion about the evaluations for the relevant form factors in the light-cone QCD sum rule (LCSRs), the heavy quark effective theory, and the perturbative QCD factorization approach. By using the form factors calculated in the perturbative (pQCD) approach, we then calculate and show the pQCD predictions for the decay rates of many semileptonic decays of B/BsB/B_s mesons. We also made careful phenomenological analysis for these pQCD predictions and found, in general, the following points: (a) For all the considered B/BsB/B_s semileptonic decays, the next-to-leading order (NLO) pQCD predictions for their decay rates agree well with the data and those from other different theoretical methods; (b) For R(D)R(D) and R(D∗)R(D^*), the pQCD predictions agree very well with the data, the BaBar's anomaly of R(D(∗))R(D^{(*)}) are therefore explained successfully in the standard model by employing the pQCD approach; and (c) We defined several new ratios RDl,τR_D^{l,τ} and RDsl,τR_{D_s}^{l,τ}, they may be more sensitive to the QCD dynamics which controls the B/Bs→(D(∗),Ds(∗))B/B_s \to (D^{(*)},D_s^{(*)}) transitions than the old ratios, we therefore strongly suggest LHCb and the forthcoming Super-B experiments to measure these new ratios.

$B \to K \etap$ decays in the SM with fourth generation fermions

By employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach, we calculate the new physics contributions to the four $B \to K \etap$ decays in the Standard Model (SM) with a fourth generation of fermions (SM4), induced by the loop diagrams involving $\tp$ quark. Within the considered parameter space of the SM4 we find that (a) the next-to-leading order (NLO) pQCD predictions for the branching ratios and CP-violating asymmetries in both the SM and SM4 generally agree with the data within one standard deviation; (b) for Br(B→Kη)Br(B \to K η), the inclusion of the fourth generation contributions can improve the agreement between the theoretical predictions and the data effectively; (c) for $Br(B \to K \etar)$, however, the decrease due to $\tp$ loops is disfavored by the data; and (d) the new physics corrections to the CP-violating asymmetries of the considered decays are about 10% only.

Anatomy of B→Kη(′)B \to K η^{(\prime)} decays in different mixing schemes and effects of next-to-leading order contributions in the perturbative QCD approach

In this paper we perform a comprehensive study of the four $B \to K \etap$ decays in the pQCD factorization approach. We calculate the CP-averaged branching ratios and CP-violating asymmetries of $B \to K\etap$ decays in the ordinary ηη-$\etar$, the ηη-$\etar$-GG, and the ηη-$\etar$-GG-ηcη_c mixing schemes. Besides the full LO contributions, all currently known NLO contributions to $B \to K \etap$ decays in the pQCD approach are taken into account. From our calculations and phenomenological analysis, we find the following. (a) The NLO contributions in general can provide significant enhancements to the LO pQCD predictions for the decay rates of the two $B \to K \etar$ decays, around 7070%-89% in magnitude, but result in relatively small changes to Br(B→Kη)Br(B \to K η). (b) Although the NLO pQCD predictions in all three considered mixing schemes agree well with the data within one standard deviation, those pQCD predictions in the ηη-$\etar$-GG mixing scheme provide the best interpretation for the measured pattern of $Br(B \to K \etap)$: Br(B0→K0η)≈1.13×10−6Br(B^0 \to K^0 η) \approx 1.13\times 10^{-6}, $Br(B^0 \to K^0 \etar) \approx 66.5 \times 10^{-6}$, Br(B±→K±η)≈2.36×10−6Br(B^\pm \to K^\pm η) \approx 2.36\times 10^{-6}, and $Br(B^\pm \to K^\pm \etar) \approx 67.3 \times 10^{-6}$, which agree perfectly with the measured values. (c) The NLO pQCD predictions for the CP-violating asymmetries for the four considered decays are also in good consistent with the data. (d) The newly known NLO contribution to the relevant form factors $\calm_{FF}$ can produce about a 20% enhancement to the branching ratios $Br(B \to K \etar)$, which plays an important role in closing the gap between the pQCD predictions and the relevant data. (e) The general expectations about the relative strength of the LO and NLO contributions from different sources are examined and confirmed by explicit numerical calculations.

Revisiting KπKπ puzzle in the pQCD factorization approach

In this paper, we calculated the branching ratios and direct CP violation of the four B→KπB\to Kπ decays with the inclusion of all currently known next-to-leading order (NLO) contributions by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. We found that (a) Besides the 10% enhancement from the NLO vertex corrections, the quark-loops and magnetic penguins, the NLO contributions to the form factors can provide an additional ∼15\sim 15% enhancement to the branching ratios, and lead to a very good agreement with the data; (b) The NLO pQCD predictions are $\acp^{dir}(B^0\to K^+π^-)=(-6.5\pm 3.1)%$ and $\acp^{dir}(B^+\to K^+ π^0)=(2.2\pm 2.0)%$, become well consistent with the data due to the inclusion of the NLO contributions.
