Conceptual design of the Spin Physics Detector

The Spin Physics Detector, a universal facility for studying the nucleon spin structure and other spin-related phenomena with polarized proton and deuteron beams, is proposed to be placed in one of the two interaction points of the NICA collider that is under construction at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia). At the heart of the project there is huge experience with polarized beams at JINR. The main objective of the proposed experiment is the comprehensive study of the unpolarized and polarized gluon content of the nucleon. Spin measurements at the Spin Physics Detector at the NICA collider have bright perspectives to make a unique contribution and challenge our understanding of the spin structure of the nucleon. In this document the Conceptual Design of the Spin Physics Detector is presented.

The transverse momentum dependence of charged kaon Bose-Einstein correlations in the SELEX experiment

We report on the measurement of the one-dimensional charged kaon correlation functions using 600~GeV/{\it c} Σ−Σ^-, π−π^- and 540~GeV/{\it c} pp beams from the SELEX~(E781) experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron. K±K±K^{\pm}K^{\pm} correlation functions are studied for three transverse pair momentum, kTk_T, ranges and parameterized by a Gaussian form. The emission source radii, RR, and the correlation strength, λλ, are extracted. The analysis shows a decrease of the source radii with increasing kaon transverse pair momentum for all beam types.

Uncertainties of QCD predictions for Higgs boson decay into bottom quarks at NNLO and beyond

An importance of the detailed studies of the theoretical QCD predictions for the decay width of Standard Model Higgs boson into bottom quarks, in the case when MH≤2MW\rm{M_H\leq 2M_W}, is emphasized. The effects of higher order perturbative QCD corrections up to order αs4α_s^4-terms are considered. The resummations of the π2π^2 terms resulting from analytical continuation, typical of Minkowskian quantities, is undertaken for the Γ(H→bˉb)Γ(H\to\bar{b}b) decay width. The uncertainties in the calculation of this decay width are analyzed.
