Three-dimensional black holes via Noether symmetries

We investigate the Noether symmetries of the Lagrangian for the stationary rotating BTZ-type three-dimensional spacetimes in $f(R)$ theory of gravity. A detailed analysis of Noether symmetries of (2+1)-dimensional rotating BTZ-type black hole spacetime model is presented. Applying the Noether symmetry approach, the first integrals (constants of motion) for each of Noether symmetries are obtained to look for the exact solutions. After solving the first integral equations depending on the form of the function $f(R)$, we derived some new (2+1)-dimensional rotating BTZ-type black hole solutions. We discussed the physical implications of the derived exact solutions. The thermodynamical properties of the obtained BTZ-type black hole solutions are analyzed by making use of the mass $M$ and the angular momentum $J$ in terms of $r_{\pm}$, where $r_+$ is the event horizon and $r_{-}$ is the inner horizon. Further, it is shown that thermodynamic quantities obey the first law, and the Smarr-like formulas of the solutions we found are obtained.

Exact spherically symmetric solutions in modified Gauss-Bonnet gravity from Noether symmetry approach

It is broadly known that Lie point symmetries and their subcase, Noether symmetries, can be used as a geometric criterion to select alternative theories of gravity. Here, we use Noether symmetries as a selection criterion to distinguish those models of $f(R,G)$ theory, with $R$ and $G$ being the Ricci and the Gauss-Bonnet scalars respectively, that are invariant under point transformations in a spherically symmetric background. In total, we find ten different forms of $f$ that present symmetries and calculate their invariant quantities, i.e Noether vector fields. Furthermore, we use these Noether symmetries to find exact spherically symmetric solutions in some of the models of $f(R,G)$ theory.

Accretion on Reissner-Nordstrom-(anti)-de Sitter Black Hole with Global Monopole

In this paper, we investigate the accretion on the Reissner-Nordström anti-de-Sitter black hole with global monopole charge. We discuss the general solutions of accretion using the isothermal and polytropic equations of state for steady state, spherically symmetric, non-rotating accretion on the black hole. In the case of isothermal flow, we consider some specific fluids and derive their solutions at the sonic point as well. However, in case of polytropic fluid we calculate the general expressions only, as there exists no global (Bondi) solutions for polytropic test fluids. In addition to this, the effect of fluid on the mass accretion rate are also studied. Moreover, the large monopole parameter $β$ greatly suppresses the maximum accretion rate.

Scalar-Tensor Teleparallel Wormholes by Noether Symmetries

A gravitational theory of a scalar field non-minimally coupled with torsion and boundary term is considered with the aim to construct Lorentzian wormholes. Geometrical parameters including shape and redshift functions are obtained for these solutions. We adopt the formalism of Noether Gauge Symmetry Approach in order to find symmetries, Lie brackets and invariants (conserved quantities). Furthermore by imposing specific forms of potential function, we are able to calculate metric coefficients and discuss their geometrical behavior.

Shadow of Kerr-Taub-NUT black hole

The shadow of a rotating black hole with nonvanishing gravitomagnetic charge has been studied. It was shown that in addition to the angular momentum of black hole the gravitomagnetic charge term deforms the shape of the black hole shadow. From the numerical results we have obtained that for a given value of the rotation parameter, the presence of a gravitomagnetic charge enlarges the shadow and reduces its deformation with respect to the spacetime without gravitomagnetic charge. Finally we have studied the capture cross section for massive particles by black hole with the nonvanishing gravitomagnetic charge.

Conformal Ricci collineations of static spherically symmetric spacetimes

Conformal Ricci collineations of static spherically symmetric spacetimes are studied. The general form of the vector fields generating conformal Ricci collineations is found when the Ricci tensor is non-degenerate, in which case the number of independent conformal Ricci collineations is \emph{fifteen}; the maximum number for 4-dimensional manifolds. In the degenerate case it is found that the static spherically symmetric spacetimes always have an infinite number of conformal Ricci collineations. Some examples are provided which admit non-trivial conformal Ricci collineations, and perfect fluid source of the matter.
