Travel Time, Distance and Costs Optimization for Paratransit Operations using Graph Convolutional Neural Network

The provision of paratransit services is one option to meet the transportation needs of Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs). Like any other means of transportation, paratransit has obstacles such as high operational costs and longer trip times. As a result, customers are dissatisfied, and paratransit operators have a low approval rating. Researchers have undertaken various studies over the years to better understand the travel behaviors of paratransit customers and how they are operated. According to the findings of these researches, paratransit operators confront the challenge of determining the optimal route for their trips in order to save travel time. Depending on the nature of the challenge, most research used different optimization techniques to solve these routing problems. As a result, the goal of this study is to use Graph Convolutional Neural Networks (GCNs) to assist paratransit operators in researching various operational scenarios in a strategic setting in order to optimize routing, minimize operating costs and minimize their users' travel time. The study was carried out by using a randomized simulated dataset to help determine the decision to make in terms of fleet composition and capacity under different situations. For the various scenarios investigated, the GCN assisted in determining the minimum optimal gap.

Some Experiences on BEPCII SRF System Operation

The Superconducting Radio Frequency (SRF) system of the upgrade project of Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPCII) has been in operation for almost 8 years. The SRF system has accelerated both electron and positron at the design beam current of 910 mA successfully, and a high beam intensity colliding of 860 mA (electron)*910 mA (positron) has been achieved in April 2014. Many problems were encountered during the operation, among which some were solved and some remain unsolved. This paper will describe some experiences on BEPCII SRF system operation, including the symptoms, causes and solutions.

Low beta spoke cavity multipacting analysis

The simulation and analysis for electron multipacting phenomenon in low β spoke superconducting cavity in ADS proton accelerator are proposed. Using both CST and Track3P codes, the electron multipacting calculation for β = 0.12 spoke superconducting cavity is implemented. The methods of multipacting calculation on both codes are studied and described. With the comparison between the calculation results and the cavity vertical test results, the accuracy and reliability of different code on calculating multipacting are analyzed. Multipacting calculation can help to understand the result of vertical test and also can help to do the optimation in cavity design.

The study of tuning system for BEPC II

Tuning system plays a very important role when superconducting cavity works. It cooperates with other control loops, to adjust the frequency of cavity with high precision, reduce the reflection power, guarantee the stability of beam and ensure the safety of superconducting cavity. This paper focuses mainly on the tuning system working principle, the working state and problems that BEPC (Beijing Electron Positron Collider) II has encountered during operation.

Black Hole - Never Forms, or Never Evaporates

Many discussion about the black hole conundrums, such as singularity and information loss, suggested that there must be some essential irreconcilable conflict between quantum theory and classical gravity theory, which cannot be solved with any semiclassical quantized model of gravity, the only feasible way must be some complete unified quantum theory of gravity. In \cite{Vachaspati2007a}, the arguments indicate the possibility of an alternate outcome of gravitational collapse which avoids the information loss problem. In this paper, also with semiclassical analysis, it shows that so long as the mechanism of black hole evaporation satisfies a quite loose condition that the evaporation lifespan is finite for external observers, regardless of the detailed mechanism and process of evaporation, the conundrums above can be naturally avoided. This condition can be satisfied with Hawking-Unruh mechanism. Thus, the conflict between quantum theory and classical gravity theory may be not as serious as it seemed to be, the effectiveness of semiclassical methods might be underestimated. An exact universal solution with spherical symmetry of Einstein field equation has been derived in this paper. All possible solutions with spherical symmetry of Einstein field equation are its special cases. In addition, some problems of the Penrose diagram of an evaporating black hole first introduced by Hawking in 1975 \cite{Hawking1975} are clarified.
