On the Laws of Large Numbers in Possibility Theory

In this paper we obtain some possibilistic variants of the probabilistic laws of large numbers, different from those obtained by other authors, but very natural extensions of the corresponding ones in probability theory. Our results are based on the possibility measure and on the "maxitive" definitions for possibility expectation and possibility variance. Also, we show that in this frame, the weak form of the law of large numbers, implies the strong law of large numbers.

Approximation by Complex Baskakov-Szasz-Durrmeyer Operators in Compact Disks

In this paper, we deal with the complex Baskakov-Szasz-Durrmeyer mixed operators and study Voronovskaja type results with quantitative estimates for these operators attached to analytic functions of exponential growth in the open disk of radius R. Also, the exact order of approximation is found. The method used allows to construct complex Szasz-type and Baskakov-type approximation operators without involving the values on the positive real axis.

Linear continuous functionals on FN-type spaces

By using the space of fuzzy numbers, in e.g. [5] have been considered several complete metric spaces (called here {\bf FN}-type spaces) endowed with addition and scalar multiplication, such that the metrics have nice properties but the spaces are not linear, i.e. are not groups with respect to addition and the scalar multiplication is not, in general, distributive with respect to usual scalar addition. This paper deals with the form of linear continuous functionals defined on these spaces.

On Some Geometric Properties of Slice Regular Functions of a Quaternion Variable

The goal of this paper is to introduce and study some geometric properties of slice regular functions of quaternion variable like univalence, subordination, starlikeness, convexity and spirallikeness in the unit ball. We prove a number of results, among which an Area-type Theorem, Rogosinski inequality, and a Bieberbach-de Branges Theorem for a subclass of slice regular functions. We also discuss some geometric and algebraic interpretations of our results in terms of maps from $\mathbb R^4$ to itself. As a tool for subordination we define a suitable notion of composition of slice regular functions which is of independent interest.

Semigroups of Operators on Spaces of Fuzzy-Number-Valued Functions with Applications to Fuzzy Differential Equations

In this paper we introduce and study semigroups of operators on spaces of fuzzy-number-valued functions, and various applications to fuzzy differential equations are presented. Starting from the space of fuzzy numbers, many new spaces sharing the same properties are introduced. We derive basic operator theory results on these spaces and new results in the theory of semigroups of linear operators on fuzzy-number kind spaces. The theory we develop is used to solve classical fuzzy systems of differential equations, including, for example, the fuzzy Cauchy problem and the fuzzy wave equation. These tools allow us to obtain explicit solutions to fuzzy initial value problems which bear explicit formulas similar to the crisp case, with some additional fuzzy terms which in the crisp case disappear. The semigroup method displays a clear advantage over other methods available in the literature (i.e., the level set method, the differential inclusions method and other "fuzzification" methods of the real-valued solution) in the sense that the solutions can be easily constructed, and that the method can be applied to a larger class of fuzzy differential equations that can be transformed into an abstract Cauchy problem.
