Analysis of three-body charmed B meson decays under the factorization-assisted topological-amplitude approach

We analyze the quasi-two-body charmed $B$ decays $B^{+,0}_{(s)} \to D_{(s)}^* P_2 \to D_{(s)} P_1 P_2$ with $P_{1,2}$ as a pion or kaon. The intermediate processes $B_{(s)} \to D_{(s)}^* P_2 $ are calculated with the factorization-assisted topological-amplitude approach and the resonant effects are calculated with the Breit-Wigner formalism. Taking all p-wave resonance states $ \bar D_{(s)}^*$ into consideration, we present the related branching fractions, calculate the Breit-Wigner-Tail effects, and investigate the flavor $SU(3)$ breaking effects. Most of our branching fractions are consistent with the perturbative QCD approach's predictions as well as the current experimental data. With more precision calculation of the intermediate two body charmed B meson decays, our quasi-two-body B decays calculation has significantly less theoretical uncertainty than the perturbative QCD approach. Many of those channels without any experimental data will be confronted with the future more accurate experiment measurements. Our results of the Breit-Wigner-tail effects also agree with the experimental very well. In $B^0$ decays this effect can reach approximately to $5\%$. It is also found that the Breit-Wigner-tail effects are not sensitive to the widths of their corresponding resonances. The flavor $SU(3)$ symmetry breaking effect is also investigated.

The SVZ sum rules and the heavy quark limit for $Λ_{Q}$

In this work, we evaluate the accuracy of the leading order results in Shifman-Vainshtein-Zakharov (SVZ) sum rules and the leading power results in the heavy quark limit for the mass of $Λ_{Q}$. Up to dim-5 condensate contributions are considered. By comparing with the experimental results, we find that the leading order results in SVZ sum rules can reach about 5\% accuracy both for $Λ_{b}$ and $Λ_{c}$, and it seems that better results can be obtained from the sum rules of the heavy quark limit both for $Λ_{b}$ and $Λ_{c}$. We re-check that the SVZ sum rules in the heavy quark limit coincide with the HQET sum rules. As a byproduct, we also have an exploratory discussion on the $ud$ diquark in $Λ_{Q}$.

Extraction of the CKM phase $γ$ from charmless two-body B meson decays

Utilizing all the experimental measured charmless $B \to PP$, $PV$ decay modes, where $P(V)$ denotes a light pseudoscalar (vector) meson, we extract the CKM angle $γ$ by global fit. All the unknown hadronic parameters are fitted with $γ$ together from experimental data, so as to make the approach least model dependent. The different contributions for various decay modes are classified by topological weak Feynman diagram amplitudes, which are to be determined by the global fit. To improve the precision of this approach, we consider flavor SU(3) breaking effects of topological diagram amplitudes among different decay modes by including the form factors and decay constants. The fitted result for CKM angle $γ$ is $(69.8 \pm 2.1 \pm 0.9) ^{\degree}$. It is consistent with the current world average with a better precision.

Two-body Charmed $B$ Meson Decays In Factorization Assisted Topological Amplitude Approach

We analyze the two-body charmed $B$ meson decays $B_{u,d,s} \to D^{(*)}P(V)$ in the factorization assisted topological amplitude approach, where $P(V)$ denoting a light pseudoscalar (vector) meson. Different from the conventional topological diagram approach, flavor $SU(3)$ symmetry breaking effects are taken into account. Therefore only four universal nonperturbative parameters are introduced to describe the contribution from non-factorization diagrams for all the decay channels. The number of free parameters and the $χ^2$ per degree of freedom are both significantly reduced comparing with the conventional topological diagram approach. With the 4 fitted parameters, we predict the branching fractions of 120 decay modes induced by both $b\to c$ and $b\to u$ transitions, which are well consistent with the measured data or to be tested on the future experiments. We also investigated the relative size of different topological diagrams, isospin violation, flavor $SU(3)$ symmetry breaking effects, compared with previous approaches.

Analysis of Two-body Charmed $B$ Meson Decays in Factorization-Assisted Topological-Amplitude Approach

Within the factorization-assisted topological-amplitude approach, we study the two-body charmed $B$ meson decays $B_{u,d,s} \to D^{(*)}M$, with $M$ denoting a light pseudoscalar (or vector) meson. The meson decay constants and transition form factors are factorized out from the hadronic matrix element of topological diagrams. Therefore the effect of SU(3) symmetry breaking is retained, which is different from the conventional topological diagram approach. The number of free nonperturbative parameters to be fitted from experimental data is also much less. Only four universal nonperturbative parameters $χ^C$, $ϕ^C$, $χ^E$ and $ϕ^E$ are introduced to describe the contribution of the color suppressed tree and $W$-exchanged diagrams for all the decay channels. With the fitted parameters from 31 decay modes induced by $b\to c$ transition, we then predict the branching fractions of 120 decay modes induced by both $b\to c$ and $b\to u$ transitions. Our results are well consistent with the measured data or to be tested in the LHCb and Belle-II experiments in the future. Besides, the SU(3) symmetry breaking, isospin violation and $CP$ asymmetry are also investigated.

A new regularization of loop integral, no divergence, no hierarchy problem

We find a new regularization scheme which is motivated by the Bose-Einstein condensation. The energy of the virtual particle is considered as discrete. Summing them and regulating the summation by the Riemann $ζ$ function can give the result of loop integral. All the divergences vanish, we can get almost the same results as Dimensional Regularization. The prediction beyond Dimensional Regularization is also shown in the QED. The hierarchy problem of the radiative correction of scalar mass completely vanish.

Complete Analysis on the Short Distance Contribution of $B_s\to \ell^+\ell^-γ$ in Standard Model

Using the $B_s$ meson wave function extracted from non-leptonic $B_s$ decays, we evaluate the short distance contribution of rare decays $B_s\to \ell^+\ell^-γ(\ell=e,μ)$ in the standard model, including all the possible diagrams. We focus on the contribution from four-quark operators which are not taken into account properly in previous researches. We found that the contribution is large, leading to the branching ratio of $B_s\to \ell^+\ell^-γ$ being nearly enhanced by a factor 3 and up to $1.7\times 10^{-8}$. The predictions for such processes can be tested in the LHC-b and B factories in near future.

Can contribution from magnetic-penguin operator with real photon to $B_s\to \ell^+\ell^-γ$ in the standard model be neglected?

Using the $B_s$ meson wave function extracted from non-leptonic $B_s$ decays, we reevaluate the rare decays $B_s\to \ell^+\ell^- γ, (\ell=e,μ)$ in the standard model, including two kinds of contributions from magnetic-penguin operator with virtual and real photon. We find that the contributions from magnetic-penguin operator $b\to sγ$ with real photon to the exclusive decays, which is regarded as to be negligible in previous literatures, are large, and the branchings of $B_s\to \ell^+\ell^-γ$ are nearly enhanced by a factor 2. With the predicted branching ratios at order of $10^{-8}$, it is expected that the radiative dileptonic decays will be detected in the LHC-b and B factories in near future.
