First Lattice QCD determination of semileptonic decays of charmed-strange baryons $Ξ_c$

While the standard model is the most successfully theory to describe all interactions and constituents in elementary particle physics, it has been constantly examined for over four decades. Weak decays of charm quarks can measure the coupling strength of quarks in different families and serve as an ideal probe for CP violation. As the lowest charm-strange baryons with three different flavors, $Ξ_c$ baryons (made of $csu$ or $csd$) have been extensively studied in experiments at the large hadron collider and in electron-positron collision. However the lack of reliable knowledge in theory becomes the unavoidable obstacle in the way. In this work, we use the state-of-the-art Lattice QCD techniques, and generate 2+1 clover fermion ensembles with two lattice spacings, $a=(0.108{\rm fm},0.080{\rm fm})$. We then present the first {\it ab-initio} lattice QCD determination of form factors governing $Ξ_{c}\to Ξ\ell^+ν_{\ell}$, analogous with the notable $β$-decay of nuclei. Our theoretical results for decay widths are consistent with and about two times more precise than the latest measurements by ALICE and Belle collaborations. Together with experimental measurements, we independently determine the quark-mixing matrix element $|V_{cs}|$, which is found in good agreement with other determinations.

Extraction of the CKM phase $γ$ from charmless two-body B meson decays

Utilizing all the experimental measured charmless $B \to PP$, $PV$ decay modes, where $P(V)$ denotes a light pseudoscalar (vector) meson, we extract the CKM angle $γ$ by global fit. All the unknown hadronic parameters are fitted with $γ$ together from experimental data, so as to make the approach least model dependent. The different contributions for various decay modes are classified by topological weak Feynman diagram amplitudes, which are to be determined by the global fit. To improve the precision of this approach, we consider flavor SU(3) breaking effects of topological diagram amplitudes among different decay modes by including the form factors and decay constants. The fitted result for CKM angle $γ$ is $(69.8 \pm 2.1 \pm 0.9) ^{\degree}$. It is consistent with the current world average with a better precision.

Sensitivity study of anomalous HZZ couplings at future Higgs factory

We study the sensitivity of constraining the model independent Higgs-Z-Z coupling under effective theory up to dimension-6 operators at the future Higgs factory. Utilizing the current conceptual design parameters of the Circular Electron Positron Collider, we give the experimental limits for the model independent operators by the total Higgsstrahlung cross section and angular distribution of Z boson decay in the Higgs factory. Especially, we give very small sensitivity limit for the CP violation parameter $\tilde g$, which will be a clear window to test the Standard Model and look for New Physics signal.

Two-body Charmed $B$ Meson Decays In Factorization Assisted Topological Amplitude Approach

We analyze the two-body charmed $B$ meson decays $B_{u,d,s} \to D^{(*)}P(V)$ in the factorization assisted topological amplitude approach, where $P(V)$ denoting a light pseudoscalar (vector) meson. Different from the conventional topological diagram approach, flavor $SU(3)$ symmetry breaking effects are taken into account. Therefore only four universal nonperturbative parameters are introduced to describe the contribution from non-factorization diagrams for all the decay channels. The number of free parameters and the $χ^2$ per degree of freedom are both significantly reduced comparing with the conventional topological diagram approach. With the 4 fitted parameters, we predict the branching fractions of 120 decay modes induced by both $b\to c$ and $b\to u$ transitions, which are well consistent with the measured data or to be tested on the future experiments. We also investigated the relative size of different topological diagrams, isospin violation, flavor $SU(3)$ symmetry breaking effects, compared with previous approaches.

Analysis of Two-body Charmed $B$ Meson Decays in Factorization-Assisted Topological-Amplitude Approach

Within the factorization-assisted topological-amplitude approach, we study the two-body charmed $B$ meson decays $B_{u,d,s} \to D^{(*)}M$, with $M$ denoting a light pseudoscalar (or vector) meson. The meson decay constants and transition form factors are factorized out from the hadronic matrix element of topological diagrams. Therefore the effect of SU(3) symmetry breaking is retained, which is different from the conventional topological diagram approach. The number of free nonperturbative parameters to be fitted from experimental data is also much less. Only four universal nonperturbative parameters $χ^C$, $ϕ^C$, $χ^E$ and $ϕ^E$ are introduced to describe the contribution of the color suppressed tree and $W$-exchanged diagrams for all the decay channels. With the fitted parameters from 31 decay modes induced by $b\to c$ transition, we then predict the branching fractions of 120 decay modes induced by both $b\to c$ and $b\to u$ transitions. Our results are well consistent with the measured data or to be tested in the LHCb and Belle-II experiments in the future. Besides, the SU(3) symmetry breaking, isospin violation and $CP$ asymmetry are also investigated.

Improved Estimates of The $B_{(s)}\to V V$ Decays in Perturbative QCD Approach

We reexamine the branching ratios, $CP$-asymmetries, and other observables in a large number of $B_q\to VV(q=u,d,s)$ decays in the perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach, where $V$ denotes a light vector meson $(ρ, K^*, ω, ϕ)$. The essential difference between this work and the earlier similar works is of parametric origin and in the estimates of the power corrections related to the ratio $r_i^2=m_{V_i}^2/m_B^2(i=2,3)$ ($m_V$ and $m_B$ denote the masses of the vector and $B$ meson, respectively). In particular, we use up-to-date distribution amplitudes for the final state mesons and keep the terms proportional to the ratio $r_i^2$ in our calculations. Our updated calculations are in agreement with the experimental data, except for a limited number of decays which we discuss. We emphasize that the penguin annihilation and the hard-scattering emission contributions are essential to understand the polarization anomaly, such as in the $B\to ϕK^*$ and $B_s \to ϕϕ$ decay modes. We also compare our results with those obtained in the QCD factorization (QCDF) approach and comment on the similarities and differences, which can be used to discriminate between these approaches in future experiments.

Pure Annihilation Type $B \to K_0^{*\pm}(1430)K^{(*)\mp}$ Decays in the Family Non-universal $Z^\prime$ Model

By assuming that the scalar meson $K_0^*(1430)$ belongs to the first excited states or the lowest lying ground states, we study the pure annihilation-type decays $B \to K_0^{*\pm}(1430)K^{(*)\mp}$ in the QCD factorization approach. Within the standard model, the branching fractions are at the order of $10^{-8}-10^{-7}$, which is possible to be measured in the ongoing LHCb experiment or forthcoming Belle-II experiment. We also study these decays in the family non-universal $Z^\prime$ model. The results show that if $m_{Z^\prime}\approx 600\mathrm{GeV}$ ($ζ=0.02$), both the branching fractions and $CP$ asymmetries of $\overline B^0\to K_0^{*+}(1430)K^-$ could be changed remarkably, which provides us a place for probing the effect of new physics. These results could be used to constrain the parameters of $Z^\prime$ model.

Study of $B \to K_0^*(1430)K^{(*)}$ decays in QCD Factorization Approach

Within the QCD factorization approach, we calculate the branching fractions and $CP$ asymmetry parameters of 12 $B \to K_0^*(1430)K^{(*)}$ decay modes under the assumption that the scalar meson $K_0^*(1430)$ is the first excited state or the lowest lying ground state in the quark model. We find that the decay modes with the scalar meson emitted, have large branching fractions due to the enhancement of large chiral factor $r_χ^{K_0^*}$. The branching fractions of decays with the vector meson emitted, become much smaller owing to the smaller factor $r_χ^{K^*}$. Moreover, the annihilation type diagram will induce large uncertainties because of the extra free parameter dealing with the endpoint singularity. For the pure annihilation type decays, our predictions are smaller than that from PQCD approach by 2-3 orders of magnitudes. These results will be tested by the ongoing LHCb experiment, forthcoming Belle-II experiment and the proposing circular electron-positron collider.

The $B_c\rightarrow ψ(2S)π$, $η_c(2S)π$ decays in the perturbative QCD approach

Nonleptonic two body $B_c$ decays including radially excited $ψ(2S)$ or $η_c(2S)$ mesons in the final state are studied using the perturbative QCD approach based on $k_T$ factorization. The charmonium distribution amplitudes are extracted from the $n = 2, l = 0$ Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger states for the harmonic oscillator potential. Utilizing these distribution amplitudes, we calculate the numerical results of the $B_c\rightarrow ψ(2S),η_c(2S)$ transition form factors and branching fractions of $B_c\rightarrow ψ(2S)π, η_c(2S)π$ decays. The ratio between two decay modes $B_c\rightarrow ψ(2S)π$ and $B_c\rightarrow J/ψπ$ is compatible with the experimental data within uncertainties, which indicate that the harmonic oscillator wave functions for $ψ(2S)$ and $η_c(2S)$ work well. It is found that the branching fraction of $B_c\rightarrow η_c(2S)π$, which is dominated by the twist-3 charmonium distribution amplitude, can reach the order of $10^{-3}$. We hope it can be measured soon in the LHCb experiment.

The study of the nonleptonic two body B decays involving a light tensor meson in final states

The nonleptonic two body $B_{u,d,s,c}$ decays involving a light tensor meson in final states are studied in the perturbative QCD approach based on $k_T$ factorization. The decay modes with a tensor meson emitted, are prohibited in naive factorization, since the emission diagram with a tensor meson produced from vacuum is vanished. While contributions from the so-called hard scattering emission diagrams and annihilation type diagrams are important and calculable in the perturbative QCD approach. The branching rations of most decays are in the range of $10^{-4}$ to $10^{-8}$, which are bigger by 1 or 2 orders of magnitude than the predictions given by naive factorization, but consistent with the predictions from QCD factorization and the recent experimental measurements. We also give the predictions for the direct $CP$ asymmetries, some of which are large enough for the future experiments to measure. We also find that, even with a small mixing angle, the mixing between $f_2$ and $f_2^{\prime}$ can bring remarkable changes to both branching ratios and the direct $CP$ asymmetries for some decays involving $f_2^{(\prime)}$ mesons. For decays with a vector meson and a tensor meson in final states, we predict a large percentage of transverse polarization contributions due to the contributions of the orbital angular momentum of the tensor mesons.

Study the Forward-Backward Asymmetry of the Top Quark Production in the Randall-Sundrum Model with an Extension of Strong Interaction

The large forward-backward asymmetry of the top quark pair production measured by the hadron colliders shed light on new physics signals beyond the Standard Model. In the Randall-Sundrum model with an additional SU(3) group in the strong sector, we compare the total cross section and forward-backward asymmetry of the top quark pair production with the newest data obtained by the CDF and the D0 collaborations. Our numerical analysis shows that the parameter $c_q \gtrsim 0.5$, $c_t \sim -0.6\sim-0.8$, $\tanϕ\gtrsim 20$ or $\tanϕ\leq 1/20$ and the first excitation of axial gluon with a mass about $5 \thicksim 6 \mathrm{TeV}$ can accommodate this large anomaly without violating other experimental constraints.

Time-dependent CP-violations of B(Bs) decays in the perturbative QCD approach

We study the decay modes of B_{s}^{0}(\bar{B}_{s}^{0})-->D_{s}^{\pm} K^{\mp}, B_{s}^{0}(\bar{B}_{s}^{0})-->D^{\pm} π^{\mp} and B^{0}(\bar{B}^{0})-->D^{\pm} π^{\mp} in the perterbative QCD approach based on k_T factorization, including the branching ratios and CP violation parameters which provide a clear way to extract the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle γ. Our results of branching ratios of B_{s}^{0}(\bar{B}_{s}^{0})-->D_{s}^{\pm} K^{\mp} and B^{0}(\bar{B}^{0})--> D^{\pm} π^{\mp} and the CP asymmetry of B^{0}(\bar{B}^{0})--> D^{\pm} π^{\mp} agree well with the experimental data. We also give the predictions of the other observables, which provide some guidance for experiments in the future, especially for LHCb experiment.

Branching ratios and direct CP asymmetries in $D\to PP$ decays

We propose a theoretical framework for analyzing two-body nonleptonic $D$ meson decays, based on the factorization of short-distance (long-distance) dynamics into Wilson coefficients (hadronic matrix elements of four-fermion operators). The parametrization of hadronic matrix elements in terms of several nonperturbative quantities is demonstrated for the $D\to PP$ decays, $P$ denoting a pseudoscalar meson. We consider the evolution of Wilson coefficients with energy release in individual decay modes, and the Glauber strong phase associated with the pion in nonfactorizable annihilation amplitudes, that is attributed to the unique role of the pion as a Nambu-Goldstone boson and a quark-anti-quark bound state simultaneously. The above inputs improve the global fit to the branching ratios involving the $η'$ meson, and resolves the long-standing puzzle from the $D^0\toπ^+π^-$ and $D^0\to K^+K^-$ branching ratios, respectively. Combining short-distance dynamics associated with penguin operators and the hadronic parameters determined from the global fit to branching ratios, we predict direct CP asymmetries, to which the quark loops and the scalar penguin annihilation give dominant contributions. In particular, we predict $ΔA_{\rm CP}\equiv A_{\rm CP}(K^+K^-)-A_{\rm CP}(π^+π^-)=-1.00\times 10^{-3}$, lower than the LHCb and CDF data.

Charmed B(B_{s}) decays involving a light tensor meson in PQCD approach

We study the $B(B_{s})\rightarrow D_{(s)}(\bar{D}_{(s)})\,T$ and $D_{(s)}^{\ast}(\bar{D}_{(s)}^{*})\,T$ decays in perturbative QCD approach, where T denotes a light tensor meson. In addition to the branching ratios, we also give predictions to the polarization fractions for the $D^{*}_{(s)}(\bar{D}_{(s)}^{*})T$ decays. For those decays with a tensor meson emitted, the factorizable emission diagrams do not contribute because of lorentz covariance considerations. In order to give the predictions to these decay channels, it is necessary to go beyond the naive factorization to calculate the nonfactorizable and annihilation diagrams.

Forward-backward asymmetry of $B\to K_J l^+l^-$ decays in SM and new physics models

We report on our studies of $B\to K_Jl^+l^-$ in the standard model and several new physics variations, with $K_J$ denoting a kaonic resoanance. In terms of helicity amplitudes, we derive a compact form for the full angular distributions, and use them to calculate the branching ratios, forward-backward asymmetries and polarizations. We have updated the constraints on effective Wilson coefficients and/or free parameters in these new physics scenarios by making use of the $B\to K^*l^+l^-$ and $b\to s l^+l^-$ experimental data. Their impact on $B\to K_J^*l^+l^-$ is subsequently explored and in particular the zero-crossing point for forward-backward asymmetry in new physics scenarios can sizably deviate from the standard model.

Nonleptonic two-body charmless B decays involving a tensor meson in the Perturbative QCD Approach

Two-body charmless hadronic B decays involving a light tensor meson in the final states are studied in the perturbative QCD approach based on $k_T$ factorization. From our calculations, we find that the decay branching ratios for color allowed tree-dominated decays $B\to a_{2}^{0}π^{+}$ and $B\to a_{2}^{-}π^{+}$ modes are of order $10^{-6}$ and $10^{-5}$, respectively. While other color suppressed tree-dominated decays have very small branching ratios. In general, the branching ratios of most decays are in the range of $10^{-5}$ to $10^{-8}$, which are bigger by one or two orders of magnitude than those predictions obtained in Isgur-Scora-Grinstein-Wise II model and in the covariant light-front approach, but consistent with the recent experimental measurements and the QCD factorization calculations. Since the decays with a tensor meson emitted from vacuum are prohibited in naive factorization, the contributions of nonfactorizable and annihilation diagrams are very important to these decays, which are calculable in our perturbative QCD approach. We also give predictions to the direct CP asymmetries, some of which are large enough for the future experiments to measure. Because we considered the mixing between $f_{2}$ and $f_{2}'$, the decay rates are enhanced significantly for some decays involving $f_{2}^{\prime}$ meson, even with a small mixing angle.

Recent theoretical improvement of hadronic $B_s$ decays

In this mini-review, we show that a lot of theoretical efforts have been made for the theoretical study of two body hadronic $B_{(s)}$ and $B_c$ decays. In addition to many next-to-leading order or even next-to-next-to leading order $α_s$ corrections made, we also study many of the previously unknown next-to-leading order power corrections. While the former corrections are theoretically solid, the latter corrections are phenomenologically more important. In the QCD factorization approach based on collinear factorization, there is difficulty to deal with the power correction diagrams due to the endpoint singularity. Thus many of these analysis use phenomenological method. In the perturbative QCD approach based on $k_T$ factorization, the endpoint singularity is killed by including the quark transverse momentum. Therefore we can calculate the annihilation type diagrams quantitatively, which give the right sign for the direct CP asymmetry parameters. More and more $B_{(s)}$ decays channels, especially the pure annihilation type decays have been measured by the recent experiments to confirm our theoretical predictions. More channels are predicted for future experiments, such as the charmless and charmed $B_s$ and $B_c$ hadronic decays and the decays involving a scalar, axial vector, even a tensor meson in the final states.

Revisiting the B {\to} π ρ, π ω Decays in the Perturbative QCD Approach Beyond the Leading Order

We calculate the branching ratios and CP asymmetries of the $B \to πρ$, $πω$ decays in the perturbative QCD factorization approach up to the next-to-leading-order contributions. We find that the next-to-leading-order contributions can interfere with the leading-order part constructively or destructively for different decay modes. Our numerical results have a much better agreement with current available data than previous leading-order calculations, e.g., the next-to-leading-order corrections enhance the $B^0\rightarrow π^0ρ^0$ branching ratios by a factor 2.5, which is helpful to narrow the gaps between theoretic predictions and experimental data. We also update the direct CP-violation parameters, the mixing-induced CP-violation parameters of these modes, which show a better agreement with experimental data than many of the other approaches.

The $B_c\rightarrow D^{(*)}T$ decays in perturbative QCD approach

In this work, we investigate those $B_{c}\rightarrow D^{(*)}T$ decays in perturbative QCD approach, based on $k_T$ factorization, where T denotes a light tensor meson. For all decays considered in this work, there are no contributions from factorizable emission diagrams because the emitted meson is the tensor meson. We find that the annihilation amplitudes are dominant in these decays due to the large Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa elements, which are only calculable in the pQCD approach. The numerical results show that the predictions for the branching ratios of most decays are in the order of $10^{-6}$ or even bigger, which can be observed in the ongoing experiments. We also predict large percentage of transverse polarizations in those W annihilation diagram dominant $B_{c} \rightarrow D^{*}T$ decay channels.

The $B(B_{s})\rightarrow D_{(s)}(\bar{D}_{(s)}) T$ and $D_{(s)}^{*}(\bar{D}_{(s)}^{*})T$ decays in perturbative QCD approach

In perturbative QCD approach, we investigate the $B(B_{s})\rightarrow D_{(s)}(\bar{D}_{(s)})\,T$ and $D_{(s)}^{*}(\bar{D}_{(s)}^{*})\,T$ decays, which include the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) favored decays and the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa-suppressed decays, where T denotes a light tensor meson. From our calculation, we find that the nonfactorizable emission diagrams and the annihilation type diagrams are important, especially for those color suppressed channels. For those decays with a tensor meson emitted, the factorizable emission diagrams vanish owing to the fact that a tensor meson can not be produced through the local (V-A) or tensor current. The numerical results show that the predictions for the branching ratios of considered charmed B decays are in the range of $10^{-4}$ to $10^{-6}$ for those CKM-favored decays (governed by $|V_{cb}|$) and in the range of $10^{-5}$ to $10^{-8}$ for those CKM-suppressed decays (governed by $|V_{ub}|$). We also predict large transverse polarization contributions in many of the $B(B_{s}) \rightarrow D_{(s)}^{\ast}(\bar{D}_{(s)}^{*})T$ decay channels.

The double charm decays of $B_c$ Meson in the Perturbative QCD Approach

We make a systematic investigation on the double charm decays of $B_c$ meson, by employing the perturbative QCD approach based on $k_T$ factorization. It is found that the non-factorizable emission diagrams are not negligible in these channels. We predict the branching ratios of these $B_c$ decays and also the transverse polarization fractions of $B_c\rightarrow D_{(s)}^{*+}\bar D^{*0}, D_{(s)}^{*+}D^{*0}$ decays, % where V denote the vector $D^*_{(s)}$ meson. We find that the magnitudes of the branching ratios of the decays $B_c\rightarrow D_s\bar{D}^0$ and $B_c\rightarrow D_sD^0$ are very close to each other, which are well suited to extract the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle $γ$ through the amplitude relations. In addition, a large transverse polarization contribution that can reach $50%\sim 60%$ is predicted in some of the $B_c$ meson decay to two vector charmed mesons.

The pure annihilation type decays $B^0\rightarrow D_{s}^{-}K_{2}^{*+}$ and $B_{s}\rightarrow \bar{D}a_{2}$ in perturbative QCD approach

We calculate the branching ratios of pure annihilation type decays $B^0\rightarrow D_{s}^{-}K_{2}^{*+}$ and $B_s\rightarrow \bar{D}a_{2}$ using the perturbative QCD approach based on $k_T$ factorization. The branching ratios are predicted to be $(60.6_{-16.5\,-10.4\,-2.1}^{+17.3\,+4.3\,+3.2}) \times 10^{-6}$ for $B^0\rightarrow D_{s}^{-}K_{2}^{*+}$, $(1.1_{-0.4\,-0.2\,-0.1}^{+0.4\,+0.1\,+0.1})\times 10^{-6}$ for $B_s\rightarrow \bar{D}a_{2}^{0}$ and $(2.3_{-0.8\,-0.4\,-0.1}^{+0.8\,+0.2\,+0.1})\times 10^{-6}$ for $B_{s}\rightarrow D^{-}a_{2}^{+}$. They are large enough to be measured in the ongoing experiment. Due to the shortage of contributions from penguin operators, there are no direct CP asymmetries for these decays in the standard model. We also derive simple relations among these decay channels to reduce theoretical uncertainties for the experiments to test the accuracy of theory and search of new physics signal.

The two-body B_c {\to} D^{(*)}_{(s)}P, D^{(*)}_{(s)}V decays in the Perturbative QCD Approach

We make a systematic investigation on the two-body nonleptonic decays B_c {\to} D^{(*)}_{(s)}P, D^{(*)}_{(s)}V, by employing the perturbative QCD approach based on k_T factorization, where P and V denote any light pseudoscalar meson and vector meson, respectively. We predict the branching ratios and direct CP-asymmetries of these B_c decays and also the transverse polarization fractions of B_c {\to} D^{*}_{(s)}V decays. It is found that the non-factorizable emission diagrams and annihilation type diagrams have remarkable effects on the physical observables in many channels, especially the color-suppressed and annihilation-dominant decay modes. A possible large direct CP-violation is predicted in some channels; and a large transverse polarization contribution that can reach 50% ~ 70% is predicted in some of the Bc {\to} D^{*}_{(s)}V decays.

$B$-to-Glueball form factor and Glueball production in $B$ decays

We investigate transition form factors of $B$ meson decays into a scalar glueball in the light-cone formalism. Compared with form factors of $B$ to ordinary scalar mesons, the $B$-to-glueball form factors have the same power in the expansion of $1/m_B$. Taking into account the leading twist light-cone distribution amplitude, we find that they are numerically smaller than those form factors of $B$ to ordinary scalar mesons. Semileptonic $B\to Gl\barν$, $B\to Gl^+l^-$ and $B_s\to Gl^+l^-$ decays are subsequently investigated. We also analyze the production rates of scalar mesons in semileptonic $B$ decays in the presence of mixing between scalar $\bar qq$ and glueball states. The glueball production in $B_c$ meson decays is also investigated and the LHCb experiment may discover this channel. The sizable branching fraction in $B_c\to (π^+π^-)l^-\barν$, $B_c\to (K^+K^-)l^-\barν$ or $B_c\to (π^+π^-π^+π^-)l^-\barν$ could be a clear signal for a scalar glueball state.

Study light scalar meson property from heavy meson decays

In the SU(3) symmetry limit, the ratio $R\equiv\frac{{\cal B}(D^+\to f_0l^+ν)+ {\cal B}(D^+\to σl^+ν)}{{\cal B}(D^+\to a_0^0l^+ν)}$ is equal to 1 if the scalar mesons are $\bar qq$ states, while it is 3 if these mesons are tentraquark states. This ratio provides a model-independent way to distinguish the descriptions for light scalar mesons . It also applies to the $B^-\to Sl^-\barν$ and $\bar B^0\to J/ψ(η_c) S$ decays. The SU(3) symmetry breaking effect is found to be under control, which will not spoil our method. The branching fractions of the $D^+\to S l^+ν$, $B^-\to S l^-\barν$ and $\bar B^0\to J/ψ(η_c) S$ decays roughly have the order $10^{-4}$, $10^{-5}$ and $10^{-6}$, respectively. The B factory experiments and ongoing BEPC-II experiments are able to measure these channels and accordingly to provide the detailed information of the scalar meson inner structure.

$B \to K^{\ast}_0(1430) l^{+} l^{-}$ decays in supersymmetric theories

The weak decays of $B \to K^{\ast}_0(1430) l^{+} l^{-}$ ($l=μ, τ$) are investigated in Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) and also in Supersymmetric (SUSY) SO(10) Grand Unified Models. Neutral Higgs bosons are the point of main focus in MSSM because they make quite a large contribution in exclusive $B \to X_{s} l^{+} l^{-}$ decays at large $\tanβ$ regions of parameter space of SUSY models, as part of SUSY contributions is proportional to $\tan^{3}β$. The analysis of decay rate, forward-backward asymmetries and lepton polarization asymmetries in $B \to K^{\ast}_0(1430) l^{+} l^{-}$ show that the values of these physical observables are greatly modified by the effects of neutral Higgs bosons. In SUSY SO(10) GUT model, the new physics contribution comes from the operators which are induced by the neutral Higgs boson penguins and also from the operators with chirality opposite to that of the corresponding Standard Model (SM) operators. SUSY SO(10) effects show up only in the decay $B \to K^{\ast}_0 μ^{+} μ^{-}$ where the transverse lepton polarization asymmetries deviate significantly from the SM value while the effects in the decay rate, forward-backward asymmetries, the longitudinal and normal lepton polarization asymmetries are very mild. The transverse lepton polarization asymmetry is almost zero in SM and in MSSM model, whereas it can reach to -0.3 in SUSY SO(10) GUT model which could be seen at the future colliders; hence this asymmetry observable can be used to discriminate between different SUSY models.

The pure annihilation type B_c to M_2 M_3 decays in the perturbative QCD approach

In the standard model the two-body charmless hadronic $B_c$ meson decays can occur via annihilation diagrams only. In this work, we studied the $B_c \to PP, PV/VP,VV$ decays by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. From our calculations, we find that (a) the pQCD predictions for the branching ratios of the considered $B_c$ decays are in the range of $10^{-6}$ to $10^{-8}$; (b) for $B_c \to PV/VP, VV$ decays, the branching ratios of $ΔS= 0$ decays are much larger than those of $ΔS =1$ ones because the different Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa(CKM) factors are involved; (c) analogous to $B \to K η^{(\prime)}$ decays, we find $Br(B_c \to K^+ η^\prime) \sim 10 \times Br(B_c \to K^+ η)$, which can be understood by the destructive and constructive interference between the $η_q$ and $η_s$ contribution to the $B_c \to K^+ η$ and $B_c \to K^+ η^\prime$ decay; (d) the longitudinal polarization fractions of $B_c \to VV$ decays are in the range of $86%-95%$ and play the dominant role; and (e) there is no CP-violating asymmetries for the considered $B_c$ decays because only one type tree operators involved.

Measuring $D^0-\bar D^0$ mixing in $D^0(\bar D^0)\to f_0(980) K^{*}$ and more

We investigate the $D^0-\bar D^0$ mixing through the doubly Cabibbo suppressed (DCS) channel $D^0\to f_0(980)K^{*0}$ and its charge conjugate channel, in which the $K^{*0}$ meson is reconstructed in both $K^+π^-$ and $K_Sπ^0$ final state. Although the decay $D^0\to f_0(980)K^{*}$ has a small branching ratio, the final state mesons are relatively easy to identify. The $f_0(980)$ meson can be replaced by $π^+π^-$ in which $π^+π^-$ form an $S$-wave state, or a longitudinally polarized vector meson $ρ^0,ω$. All mixing parameters, including the mass difference and decay width difference, can be extracted by studying the time-dependent decay width of these channels. We show that the method is valid in all regions for mixing parameters and it does not depend on the strong phase difference.

Within the Standard Model, we investigate the weak decays of $Λ_b \to Λ+ γ$ and $Λ_b \to Λ+ l^{+} l^{-}$ with the light-cone sum rules approach. The higher twist distribution amplitudes of $Λ$ baryon to the leading conformal spin are included in the sum rules for transition form factors. Our results indicate that the higher twist distribution amplitudes almost have no influences on the transition form factors retaining the heavy quark spin symmetry, while such corrections can result in significant impacts on the form factors breaking the heavy quark spin symmetry. Two phenomenological models (COZ and FZOZ) for the wave function of $Λ$ baryon are also employed in the sum rules for a comparison, which can give rise to the form factors approximately 5 times larger than that in terms of conformal expansion. Utilizing the form factors calculated in LCSR, we then perform a careful study on the decay rate, polarization asymmetry and forward-backward asymmetry, with respect to the decays of $Λ_b \to Λγ$, $Λl^{+}l^{-}$.

Study Pure Annihilation Decays $B_s^0(\bar B_s^0)\to D^{\pm}π^{\mp}$ in PQCD Approach

The rare decays $B_s^0\to D^\pm π^\mp$ and $\bar B_s^0\to D^\mp π^\pm$ can occur only via annihilation type diagrams in the standard model. In this paper, we calculate branching ratios of these decays in perturbative QCD approach ignoring soft final state interaction. From our calculation, we find that their branching ratios are at $\mathcal{O}(10^{-6})$ with large CP asymmetry, which may be measured in LHC-b experiment in future.

Branching Ratio and Polarization of $B\toρ(ω)ρ(ω)$ Decays in Perturbative QCD Approach

In this work, we calculated the branching ratios, polarization fractions and CP asymmetry of decay modes $B\toρ(ω)ρ(ω)$ in the Perturbative QCD approach, which is based on $\mathbf{k}_T$ factorization. After calculation, we find the the branching ratios of $B^0 \to ρ^+ ρ^-$, $B^+ \to ρ^+ ρ^0$ and $B^+ \to ρ^+ ω$ are at the order of $10^{-5}$, and their longitudinal polarization fractions are more than 90%. The above results agree with BarBar's measurements. We also predict the branching ratios and polarizations of $B^0 \to ρ^0 ρ^0$, $B^0 \to ρ^0 ω$ and $B^0 \to ωω$, which will be measured in future. We predicted the CP asymmetry of $B^0 \to ρ^+ ρ^-$ and $B^+ \to ρ^+ ρ^0$, which will play important role in determining angle $α$.

CP Asymmetry, Branching ratios and Isospin breaking effects in B-> rho gamma and B-> omega gamma decays with the pQCD approach

The radiative B-> rho gamma, B-> omega gamma decay modes are caused by the FCNC process, so they give us good insight towards probing the standard model in order to search for new physics. In this paper, we compute the branching ratio, direct CP asymmetry, and isospin breaking effects using the perturbative QCD approach within the standard model.

Study of $B\to K^* ρ, K^*ω$ Decays with Polarization in Perturbative QCD Approach

The $B \to K^{*}ρ$, $ K^{*}ω$ decays are useful to determine the CKM angle $ϕ_3=γ$. Their polarization fractions are also interesting since the polarization puzzle of the $B\to ϕK^*$ decay. We study these decays in the perturbative QCD approach based on $k_T$ factorization. After calculating of the non-factorizable and annihilation type contributions, in addition to the conventional factorizable contributions, we find that the contributions from the annihilation diagrams are crucial. They give dominant contribution to the strong phases and suppress the longitudinal polarizations. Our results agree with the current existing data. We also predict a sizable direct CP asymmetries in $B^+ \to K^{*+}ρ^0$, $B^0 \to K^{*+}ρ^-$, and $B^+ \to K^{*+}ω$ decays, which can be tested by the oncoming measurements in the B factory experiments.

B_s \to ρ(ω) K^* with Perturbative QCD approach

$B_s \to ρ(ω) K^{\ast}$ are useful to determine the $B_s$ distribution amplitude, as well as constrain the CKM phase angle $α$. We study these decays within the Perturbative QCD (PQCD) picture. In this approach, we calculate factorizable, non-factorizable, as well as annihilation diagrams. We find the branching ratio for $B_s \to ρ^+ K^{*-}$ is big to order $10^{-5}$, we also find there's large direct CP violation in $B_s(\bar B_s) \to ρ^0(ω) \bar K^{*0}(K^{*0})$. Our predictions are consistent with those from other methods and current experiments.

Direct CP Violation in Hadronic B Decays

There are different approaches for the hadronic B decay calculations, recently. In this paper, we upgrade three of them, namely factorization, QCD factorization and the perturbative QCD approach based on $k_T$ factorization, by using new parameters and full wave functions. Although they get similar results for many of the branching ratios, the direct CP asymmetries predicted by them are different, which can be tested by recent experimental measurements of B factories.

B to light meson transition form factors calculated in perturbative QCD approach

We calculate the $B\to P$, $B\to V$ (P: light pseudoscalar meson, V light vector meson) form factors in the large-recoil limit in perturbative QCD approach, including both the vector (axial vector) and tensor operators. In general there are two leading components $ϕ_B$ and $\barϕ_B$ for $B$ meson wave functions. We consider both contributions of them. Sudakov effects ($k_{\perp}$ and threshold resummation) are included to regulate the soft end-point singularity. By choosing the hard scale as the maximum virtualities of internal particles in the hard $b$-quark decay amplitudes, Sudakov factors can effectively suppress the long-distance soft contribution. Hard contribution can be dominant in these approaches.

Calculation of pure annihilation type decay $B^+ \to D_s^+ ϕ$

The rare decay $B^+ \to D_s^+ ϕ$ can occur only via annihilation type diagrams in the standard model. We calculate this decay in perturbative QCD approach with Sudakov resummation. We found that the branching ratio of $B^+ \to D_s^+ ϕ$ is of order $10^{-7}$ which may be measured in the near future by KEK and SLAC $B$ factories. The small branching ratio predicted in standard model makes this channel sensitive to new physics contributions.

The Pure Leptonic Decays of B_c Meson and Their Radiative Corrections

The radiative corrections to the pure leptonic decay $B_c \to \ellν_{\ell}$ up-to one-loop order is presented. How to cancel the infrared divergences appearing in the loop calculations, and the radiative decay $B_c \to \ellν_{\ell}γ$ is shown precisely. It is emphasized that the radiative decay may be separated properly and may compare with measurements directly as long as the theoretical `softness' of the photon corresponds to the experimental resolutions. Furthermore with a kind of non-relativistic constituent quark model, a kind of typical long distance contributions to the radiative decays is estimated, and it is shown that the contributions are negligible in comparison with the accuracy of one-loop corrections and the expected experimental measurements.

Non-Leptonic Decays of B Mesons and Strong Coupling Constants

Non-leptonic decays of B mesons into two mesons or meson resonances are studied on the basis of two versions of simple pole-dominance models involving scalar, vector, pseudoscalar and axial-vector poles. The results are compared with those obtained from the usual factorization model and used to obtain information on strong coupling constants between B meson and one light or one charmed meson, respectively. These coupling constants are compared to results from various QCD sum rule calculations.

$b \to s γ$ Decay and Right-handed Top-bottom Charged Current

We introduce an anomalous top quark coupling (right-handed current) into Standard Model Lagrangian. Based on this, a more complete calculation of $b \to sγ$ decay including leading log QCD corrections from $m_{top}$ to $M_W$ in addition to corrections from $M_{W}$ to $m_b$ is given. The inclusive decay rate is found to be suppressed comparing with the case without QCD running from $m_t$ to $M_W$ except at the time of small values of $|f_R^{tb}|$. e.g. when $f_R^{tb}=-0.08$, it is only $1/10$ of the value given before. As $|f_R^{tb}|$ goes smaller, this contribution is an enhancement like standard model case. From the newly experiment of CLEO Collaboration, strict restrictions to parameters of this top-bottom quark coupling are found.
