Low-Dimensional Fluctuations and Pseudogap in Gaudin-Yang Fermi Gases

Pseudogap is a ubiquitous phenomenon in strongly correlated systems such as high-$T_{\rm c}$ superconductors, ultracold atoms and nuclear physics. While pairing fluctuations inducing the pseudogap are known to be enhanced in low-dimensional systems, such effects have not been explored well in one of the most fundamental 1D models, that is, Gaudin-Yang model. In this work, we show that the pseudogap effect can be visible in the single-particle excitation in this system using a diagrammatic approach. Fermionic single-particle spectra exhibit a unique crossover from the double-particle dispersion to pseudogap state with increasing the attractive interaction and the number density at finite temperature. Surprisingly, our results of thermodynamic quantities in unpolarized and polarized gases show an excellent agreement with the recent quantum Monte Carlo and complex Langevin results, even in the region where the pseudogap appears.

An improvement in complex Langevin dynamics from a view point of Lefschetz thimbles

We develop a way of improving complex Langevin dynamics motivated by the Lefschetz-thimble decomposition of integrals. In our method, arbitrary observables of an original model with multiple Lefschetz thimbles are computed by a modified model with a single thimble. We apply our modification method to a one dimensional integral in which the naive implementation of the complex Langevin dynamics fails to reproduce the exact results due to the severe sign problem. We show that the toy model can be modified so that the new model consists of a single Lefschetz thimble. We find that correct results can be obtained by the improved complex Langevin dynamics.

Parametric instability of classical Yang-Mills fields in a color magnetic background

We investigate instabilities of classical Yang-Mills fields in a time-dependent spatially homogeneous color magnetic background field in a non-expanding geometry for elucidating the earliest stage dynamics of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The background gauge field configuration considered in this article is spatially homogeneous and temporally periodic, and is alluded by Berges-Scheffler-Schlichting-Sexty (BSSS). We discuss the whole structure of instability bands of fluctuations around the BSSS background gauge field on the basis of Floquet theory, which enables us to discuss the stability in a systematic way. We find various instability bands on the $(p_z, p_T)$-plane. These instability bands are caused by parametric resonance despite the fact that the momentum dependence of the growth rate for $|\mathbf{p}| \leq \sqrt{B}$ is similar to a Nielsen-Olesen instability. Moreover, some of instability bands are found to emerge not only in the low momentum but also in the high momentum region; typically of the order of the saturation momentum as $|\mathbf{p}| \sim \sqrt{B} \sim Q_{\rm s}$.

Parametric Instability of Classical Yang-Mills Fields in an Expanding Geometry

We investigate the instability of classical Yang-Mills field in an expanding geometry under a color magnetic background field within the linear regime. We consider homogeneous, boost-invariant and time-dependent color magnetic fields simulating the glasma configuration. We introduce the conformal coordinates which enable us to map an expanding problem approximately into a nonexpanding problem. We find that the fluctuations with finite longitudinal momenta can grow exponentially due to parametric instability. Fluctuations with finite transverse momenta can also show parametric instability, but their momenta are restricted to be small. The most unstable modes start to grow exponentially in the early stage of the dynamics and they may affect the thermalization in heavy-ion collisions.

Lattice QCD study for stringy excitation and role of UV gluons

In both cases of quark-antiquark (Q-Qbar) and three-quark (3Q) systems, we study ground-state and low-lying excited-state potentials in terms of the gluon-momentum component in the Coulomb gauge in SU(3) quenched lattice QCD. By introducing UV-cut in the gluon-momentum space, we investigate the "UV-gluon sensitivity" of the ground-state and excited-state potentials quantitatively. Such a non-quark-origin excitation is a purely gluonic excitation, which can be interpreted as a stringy excitation in the color flux-tube picture of hadrons. For both Q-Qbar and 3Q systems, the IR part of the ground-state potential is almost unchanged, even after cutting off high-momentum gluon component. On the other hand, we find more significant change of excited-state potential by the cut of UV-gluons. However, even after the removal of UV-gluons, the magnitude of the low-lying gluonic excitation remains to be of the order of 1GeV.

Stringy excitation and role of UV gluons in lattice QCD

Using SU(3) quenched lattice QCD, we study ground-state and low-lying even-parity excited-state potentials of quark-antiquark systems in terms of the gluon-momentum component in the Coulomb gauge. By introducing UV-cut in the gluon-momentum space, we investigate the "UV-gluon sensitivity" of the ground-state and excited-state potentials and the stringy excitation quantitatively. Even after cutting off high-momentum gluon component above 1.5GeV, the IR part of the ground-state potential is almost unchanged. On the other hand, the change of excited-state potential is more significant by the cut of UV-gluons. However, even after the removal of UV-gluons, the magnitude of the low-lying gluonic excitation remains to be of the order of 1GeV.
