Lattice QCD study of four-quark components of the isosinglet scalar mesons: Significance of disconnected diagrams

We study the possible significance of four-quark states in the iso-singlet scalar mesons ($J^{PC}=0^{++}$, $I=0$) by performing two-flavor full lattice QCD simulations on an $8^3 \times 16$ lattice using the improved gauge action and the clover-improved Wilson quark action. In particular, we evaluate the propagators of molecular and tetra-quark operators together with singly disconnected diagrams. In the computation of the singly disconnected diagrams we employ the $Z_2$-noise method with the truncated eigenmode approach. We show that the quark loops given by the disconnected diagrams play an essential role in propagators of tetraquark and molecular operators.

Lattice study of K pi scattering in I = 3/2 and 1/2

We report the first lattice QCD results of the scattering amplitudes of the $Kπ$ system for $I = 1/2$ channel together with $I=3/2$ case. We investigate all quark diagrams contributing to these iso-spin states, and find that the scattering amplitudes are expressed as combinations of only three diagrams after setting the masses of $u$-quark and $d$-quark to be the same. The lattice simulations are performed in the quenched approximation at $β= 2.23$ on a 12$^3 \times 24$ lattice with an improved Iwasaki gauge action. We employ a new dilution-type noise method to get accuracy of data with reasonable CPU time. A simple method is proposed and applied to eliminate lattice artefact due to the finite extent of lattice along the time direction. A clear difference in the quark mass dependence between $I=3/2$ and $I=1/2$ channels is observed. Although the chiral extrapolation is subtle, we assume $E_{Kπ}^2 \propto m_{u,d}^2 $, and obtain the $S$-wave scattering lengths as $a_0(I=3/2) m_π =-0.084^{+0.051}_{-0.064}$ and $a_0(I=1/2) m_π = -0.625 \pm0.012$. We show all necessary formulas which make the calculation possible. We argue that $ΛN$ is the most appropriate target of the Lüscher's formula for baryonic system because it has no $π$ exchange diagrams and has a scattering length suitable for a lattice QCD simulation.

Multiplicity Dependence of Partially Coherent Pion Production in Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions

We investigate two- and three-particle intensity correlation functions of pions in relativistic heavy ion collisions for different colliding energies. Based on three models of particle production, we analyze the degree to which the pion sources are chaotic in the SPS S+Pb, Pb+Pb and the RHIC Au+Au collisions. The ``chaoticity'', $λ$, of the two-particle correlation functions is corrected for long-lived resonance decays. The effect of the partial Coulomb correction is also examined. Although the partially coherent model gives a result which is consistent with that of STAR, the chaotic fraction does not exhibit clear multiplicity dependence if we take into account both the corrected chaoticity and the weight factor of the three-pion correlation function. The result of the partially-multicoherent model indicates an increasing number of coherent sources in higher multiplicity events.

Source Chaoticity from Two- and Three-Pion Correlations in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=130$ GeV?

We consistently analyze two-pion correlation functions and three-pion correlation functions of 130$A$ GeV Au+Au collisions measured at RHIC, applying three models of partially coherent pion sources. The effect of long-lived resonances on the chaoticity in the two-pion correlation function is estimated on the basis of a statistical model. We find that the chaoticity extracted from the three-pion correlation function is consistent with that extracted from the two-pion correlation function at vanishing relative momenta after the subtraction of the contribution of the long-lived resonance decays. All three models indicate that pions are emitted from the mixture of a chaotic source and coherent sources in the 130$A$ GeV Au+Au collisions.

Behavior of Hadrons at Finite Density -- Lattice Study of Color SU(2) QCD

Using two-color lattice QCD with Wilson fermions, we report a study of the finite baryon number density system with two-flavors. First we investigate the Polyakov line and thermodynamical uantities in the $(κ,μ)$ plane, where $κ$ and $μ$ are the hopping parameter and chemical potential in the fermion action, respectively. Then we calculate propagators of meson ($\bar{q}Γq$) and baryon ($qΓq$) states. We find that the vector meson propagators are strongly modified in large $μ$ regions, indicating the reduction of the mass. This anomalous behavior of the vector meson is observed for the first time in lattice QCD.

Hydrodynamical analysis of hadronic spectra in the 130 GeV/nucleon Au+Au collisions

We study one-particle spectra and a two-particle correlation function in the 130 GeV/nucleon Au+Au collisions at RHIC by making use of a hydrodynamical model. We calculate the one-particle hadronic spectra and present the first analysis of Bose-Einstein correlation functions based on the numerical solution of the hydrodynamical equations which takes both longitudinal and transverse expansion into account appropriately. The hydrodynamical model provides excellent agreement with the experimental data in the pseudorapidity and the transverse momentum spectra of charged hadrons, the rapidity dependence of anti-proton to proton ratio, and almost consistent result for the pion Bose-Einstein correlation functions. Our numerical solution with simple freeze-out picture suggests the formation of the quark-gluon plasma with large volume and low net-baryon density.

Lattice study of "f$_{0}$(600) or $σ$"

We investigate the propagator of "f$_{0}$(600) or the $σ$" by the full-QCD simulation with Wilson fermions. We calculate the mesonic correlator in the I=0, $J^P=0^{+}$ channel on the $8^{3} \times 16$ lattice. Plaquet action and Wilson fermion action are adopted. A coupling constant $β$ is set to 4.8 and three kinds of hopping parameter, $κ$=0.1846, 0.1874 and 0.1891 are assayed. The disconnected diagram in the propagator is evaluated through taking average over 500 or 1000 Z2 noise. Simulations with the larger hopping parameter provide us with less noisy results. Though the statistics is not yet enough, our results indicate the existence of a pole with a mass in almost the same order as that of the $ρ$.

(3+1)-dimensional relativistic hydrodynamical expansion of hot and dense matter in ultra-relativistic nuclear collision

A full (3+1)-dimensional calculation using the Lagrangian hydrodynamics is proposed for relativistic nuclear collisions. The calculation enables us to evaluate anisotropic flow of hadronic matter which appears in non-central and/or asymmetrical relativistic nuclear collisions. Applying hydrodynamical calculations to the deformed uranium collisions at AGS energy region, we discuss the nature of space-time structure and particle distributions in detail.

Two-particle correlation from a relativistic fluid with a first order phase transition

We numerically calculate two-particle correlation functions of CERN-SPS 158 A GeV Pb+Pb central collisions based on a (3+1)-dimensional relativistic hydrodynamics with a first order phase transition. We analyze the pair momentum dependence of pion source sizes extracted from the Yano-Koonin-Podgoretski\uı (YKP) parametrization which is expected to give the source sizes directly. We find that, even in the case of the first order phase transition, the collective expansion and surface dominant freeze-out of the fluid naturally lead to the opaque source for which the interpretation of the temporal source parameter as the emission duration breaks down.

HBT Effect Based on a Hydrodynamical Model

We investigate HBT radii based on the numerical solutions of the hydrodynamical model which are so tuned as to reproduce the recent experimental data at the CERN SPS. Comparing the sizes of freeze-out hypersurface with HBT radii, we discuss dynamical effect of the systematic flow on the apparent HBT radii. Finally we compare HBT radii of the QGP phase transition model with those of the hadron gas model without phase transition.

Numerical Analyses of CERN 200GeV/A Heavy-Ion Collisions Based on a Hydrodynamical Model with Phase Transition

We numerically analyze recent high energy heavy-ion collision experiments based on a hydrodynamical model with phase transition and discuss a systematic change of initial state of QGP-fluid depending on colliding-nuclei's mass. In a previous paper, we formulated a (3+1)-dimensional hydrodynamical model for quark-gluon plasma with phase transition and discussed numerically the space-time evolution in detail. We here compare the numerical solution with the hadronic distributions given by CERN WA80 and NA35. Systematic analyses of the experiments with various colliding nuclei enable us to discuss the dependences of the initial parameters of the hydrodynamical model on colliding nuclei's mass. Furthermore, extrapolating the present experiments, we derive the possible hadronic distributions for lead-lead 150GeV/A collision.
