A quasispecies continuous contact model in a subcritical regime

We study a non-equilibrium dynamical model: a marked continuous contact model in $d$-dimensional space, $d \ge 1$. In contrast with the continuous contact model in a critical regime, see \cite{KKP}, \cite{KPZ}, the model under consideration is in the subcritical regime and it contains an additional spontaneous spatially homogeneous birth from an external source. We prove that this system has an invariant measure. We prove also that the process starting from any initial distribution converges to this invariant measure.

A quasispecies continuous contact model in a critical regime

We study a new non-equilibrium dynamical model: a marked continuous contact model in $d$-dimensional space ($d \ge 3$). We prove that for certain values of rates (the critical regime) this system has the one-parameter family of invariant measures labelled by the spatial density of particles. Then we prove that the process starting from the marked Poisson measure converges to one of these invariant measures. In contrast with the continuous contact model studied earlier in \cite{KKP}, now the spatial particle density is not a conserved quantity.

On ground state of non local Schrodinger operators

We study a ground state of a non local Schrodinger operator associated with an evolution equation for the density of population in the stochastic contact model in continuum with inhomogeneous mortality rates. We found a new effect in this model, when even in the high dimensional case the existence of a small positive perturbation of a special form (so-called, small paradise) implies the appearance of the ground state. We consider the problem in the Banach space of bounded continuous functions $C_b (R^d)$ and in the Hilbert space $L^2(R^d)$.

Recombination processes and non-linear Markov chains

Bacteria are known to exchange genetic information by horizontal gene transfer. Since the frequency of homologous recombination depends on the similarity of recombining segments, several studies examined whether this could lead to the emergence of subspecies. Most of them used simulations of fixed size Wright-Fisher populations, in which the genetic drift should be taken into account. Here, we use non-linear Markov chains to describe a bacterial population evolving under mutation and recombination processes. We consider a population as a space of genomes and a probability measure on it. Thus, the genetic drift is not assumed. We prove that under these conditions the emergence of subspecies is impossible, so the genetic drift is a necessary driving force of bacterial speciation.

Phase Transition of Laminated Models at Any Temperature

The standard Pirogov -- Sinai theory is generalized to the class of models with two modes of interaction: longitudinal and transversal. Under rather general assumptions about the longitudinal interaction and for one specific form of the transversal interaction it is proved that such system has a variety of phase transitions at any temperature: the parameter which plays the role of inverse temperature is the strength of the transversal interaction. The concrete examples of such systems are $(1+1)$-dimensional models.
