Quantum generalized Heisenberg algebras and their representations

We introduce and study a new class of algebras, which we name \textit{quantum generalized Heisenberg algebras} and denote by $\mathcal{H}_q (f,g)$, related to generalized Heisenberg algebras, but allowing more parameters of freedom, so as to encompass a wider range of applications and include previously studied algebras, such as (generalized) down-up algebras. In particular, our class now includes the enveloping algebra of the $3$-dimensional Heisenberg Lie algebra and its $q$-deformation, neither of which can be realized as a generalized Heisenberg algebra. This paper focuses mostly on the classification of finite-dimensional irreducible representations of quantum generalized Heisenberg algebras, a study which reveals their rich structure. Although these algebras are not in general noetherian, their representations still retain some Lie-theoretic flavor. We work over a field of arbitrary characteristic, although our results on the representations require that it be algebraically closed.

Structure and isomorphisms of quantum generalized Heisenberg algebras

In [14] we introduced a new class of algebras, which we named \textit{quantum generalized Heisenberg algebras} and which depend on a parameter $q$ and two polynomials $f,g$. We have shown that this class includes all generalized Heisenberg algebras (as defined in [8] and [16]) as well as generalized down-up algebras (as defined in [3] and [7]), but the parameters of freedom we allow give rise to many algebras which are in neither one of these two classes (if $q\neq 1$ and $\, \mathsf{deg}\, f>1$). Having classified their finite-dimensional irreducible representations in [14], in this paper we turn to their classification by isomorphism, the description of their automorphism groups and the study of ring-theoretical properties like Gelfand-Kirillov dimension and being Noetherian.

The algebraic and geometric classification of nilpotent anticommutative algebras

We give algebraic and geometric classifications of $6$-dimensional complex nilpotent anticommutative algebras. Specifically, we find that, up to isomorphism, there are $14$ one-parameter families of $6$-dimensional nilpotent anticommutative algebras, complemented by $130$ additional isomorphism classes. The corresponding geometric variety is irreducible and determined by the Zariski closure of a one-parameter family of algebras. In particular, there are no rigid $6$-dimensional complex nilpotent anticommutative algebras.

A Parametric Family of Subalgebras of the Weyl Algebra III. Derivations

An Ore extension over a polynomial algebra F[x] is either a quantum plane, a quantum Weyl algebra, or an infinite-dimensional unital associative algebra A_h generated by elements x,y, which satisfy yx-xy = h, where h is in F[x]. When h is nonzero, these algebras are subalgebras of the Weyl algebra A_1 and can be viewed as differential operators with polynomial coefficients. In previous work, we investigated the structure of A_h, determined its automorphisms and their invariants, and studied the irreducible A_h-modules. Here we determine the derivations of A_h over an arbitrary field.

A Parametric Family of Subalgebras of the Weyl Algebra I. Structure and Automorphisms

An Ore extension over a polynomial algebra $\mathbb{F}[x]$ is either a quantum plane, a quantum Weyl algebra, or an infinite-dimensional unital associative algebra $\mathsf{A}_h$ generated by elements $x,y$, which satisfy $yx-xy = h$, where $h\in \mathbb{F}[x]$. We investigate the family of algebras $\mathsf{A}_h$ as $h$ ranges over all the polynomials in $\mathbb{F}[x]$. When $h \neq 0$, these algebras are subalgebras of the Weyl algebra $\mathsf{A}_1$ and can be viewed as differential operators with polynomial coefficients. We give an exact description of the automorphisms of $\mathsf{A}_h$ over arbitrary fields $\mathbb{F}$ and describe the invariants in $\mathsf{A}_h$ under the automorphisms. We determine the center, normal elements, and height one prime ideals of $\mathsf{A}_h$, localizations and Ore sets for $\mathsf{A}_h$, and the Lie ideal $[\mathsf{A}_h,\mathsf{A}_h]$. We also show that $\mathsf{A}_h$ cannot be realized as a generalized Weyl algebra over $\mathbb{F}[x]$, except when $h \in \mathbb{F}$. In two sequels to this work, we completely describe the derivations and irreducible modules of $\mathsf{A}_h$ over any field.

A Parametric Family of Subalgebras of the Weyl Algebra II. Irreducible Modules

In previous work, we studied the structure of A_h and determined its automorphism group and the subalgebra of invariants under the automorphism group. Here we determine the irreducible A_h-modules. In a sequel to this paper, we completely describe the derivations of A_h over any field.
