Continuum extrapolation of Ward identities in $\mathbf{\mathcal{N}=1}$ supersymmetric SU(3) Yang-Mills theory

In $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory, regularised on a space-time lattice, in addition to the breaking by the gluino mass term, supersymmetry is broken explicitly by the lattice regulator. In addition to the parameter tuning in the theory, the supersymmetric Ward identities can be used as a tool to investigate lattice artefacts as well as to check whether supersymmetry can be recovered in the chiral and continuum limits. In this paper we present the numerical results of an analysis of the supersymmetric Ward identities for our available gauge ensembles at different values of the inverse gauge coupling $β$ and of the hopping parameter $κ$. The results clearly indicate that the lattice artefacts vanish in the continuum limit, confirming the restoration of supersymmetry.

Continuum limit of SU(3) $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and supersymmetric gauge theories on the lattice

We summarize our investigations of several aspects of $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills (SYM) theory. We present our final results for SU(3) $\mathcal{N}=1$ SYM simulated with Wilson fermions. We also discuss the first test of the simulations of the theory with overlap gluinos. Finally, we present some recent progresses concerning the phase structure of the compactified theory on $R^3\times S^1$.

On Computing Linearizing Coordinates From Symmetry Algebra

A characterization of the symmetry algebra of the $n$th order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) with maximal symmetry and all third order linearizable ODEs is given. This is used to show that such an algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ determines $-$ up to a point transformation $-$ only one linear equation whose symmetry algebra is $\mathfrak{g}$ and an algorithmic procedure is given to find the linearizing coordinates. The procedure is illustrated by several examples from literature.

A study of positive energy condition in Bianchi V spacetimes via Noether symmetries

In this paper we use Noether symmetries of the geodesic Lagrangian in Bianchi V spacetimes to study various cosmological solutions of Einstein's field equations. Our first result is the identification of the subalgebras of Noether symmetries of the equations of motions in such spacetimes with dimension 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 or 10 of the maximal algebra of Lie point symmetries of dimension 13. Secondly we give physical interpretation of new cosmological solutions which satisfy positive energy condition and yield critical bounds on the expansion coefficient $α$, in which the underlying non-flat spacetimes carry interesting physical properties. Specifically the energy density behaves in one of the following ways. (i) It is positive and constant for all time. (ii) It varies with time and attains a global maximum after some time and then asymptotically converges to zero. (iii) It increases for all time and attains a maximum value at the asymptotic limit $t\rightarrow \infty$. In particular a non-flat spacetime is obtained that mimics the expansion in a flat FRW universe dominated by vacuum energy such that the expansion factor has the same form in both. However, the energy density is dynamical in the former.

Marginally Stable Circular Orbits in Schwarzschild Black Hole Surrounded by Quintessence Matter

Marginally stable circular orbits (MSCOs) of a massive test particle are investigated in the spacetime geometry of Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by quintessence. For that matter we consider three important scenarios where the equation of state parameter $ω_{q}$, has one of the following forms (i) $ω_q=-1$ (ii) $ω_q=-2/3$ and (iii) $ω_q= -1/3$. The existence of such marginally stable circular orbits in these scenarios depend on the range of normalization factor $α$. Briefly, we show that in the first case such orbits exist only if $0<α<4/16875$. Moreover in the second case which is a special Kiselev black hole it is found that MSCOs exist when the value of the normalization factor satisfy $0<α\leq 0.00536165238$. In the last case the MSCOs are also shown to exist.

Complete classification of spherically symmetric static spacetimes via Noether symmetries

In this paper we give a complete classification of spherically symmetric static space-times by their Noether symmetries. The determining equations for Noether symmetries are obtained by using the usual Lagrangian of a general spherically symmetric static spacetime which are integrated for each case. In particular we observe that spherically symmetric static spacetimes are categorized into six distinct classes corresponding to Noether algebra of dimensions 5, 6, 7, 9, 11 and 17. Using Noether`s theorem we also write down the first integrals for each class of such spacetimes corresponding to their Noether symmetries. Some new spherically symmetric static solutions have also been obtained.

Revisiting Noether gauge symmetry approach in quintom cosmology

The Noether gauge symmetry approach is revisited to study various quintom scenarios (those that arise by the presence of two dynamical scalar fields) to comprehend the role of dark energy in our universe. For such models, we obtain smooth parameterizations of the equation of state of dark energy across the boundary of cosmological constant $w_Λ=-1$. This study gives rise to two new cases of the potential $V(ϕ, σ)$, due to a quintom field in which nonlinear coupling of the scalar fields arise. Besides we report that a few cases of Noether gauge symmetries and their invariants in [Adnan Aslam, et. al., Astrophys Space Sci (2013), 348:533-540] are incorrect. Consequently, the given cosmological model in their paper is not a feasible quintom model.

Effect of quintessence on the energy of the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole

The energy content of the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole surrounded by quintessence is investigated using approximate Lie symmetry methods. It is mainly done by assuming mass and charge of the black hole as small quantities ($ε$), and by retaining its second power in the perturbed geodesic equations for such black hole while neglecting its higher powers. Due to the presence of trivial second-order approximate Lie symmetries of these perturbed geodesic equations, a rescaling of the geodetic parameter gives a rescaling of the energy in this black hole. Interestingly we obtain an explicit relation of the rescaling factor that depends on the square of the charge to mass ratio of the black hole, the normalization factor $α$, which is related to the state parameter of the quintessence matter, and the coordinate $r$. A comparison of this rescaling factor with that of the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole (Hussain et. al SIGMA, 2007), without quintessence is given. It is observed that the presence of the quintessence field reduces the energy in this black hole spacetime. Further it is found that there exists a point outside the event horizon of this black hole where the effect of quintessence balances the energy content in this black hole without quintessence, and where the total energy of the underlying spacetime becomes zero.

Linearization from complex Lie point transformations

Complex Lie point transformations are used to linearize a class of systems of second order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) which have Lie algebras of maximum dimension $d$, with $d\leq 4$. We identify such a class by employing complex structure on the manifold that defines the geometry of differential equations. Furthermore we provide a geometrical construction of the procedure adopted that provides an analogue in $\R^{3}$ of the linearizability criteria in $\R^2$.

On the symmetry solutions of two-dimensional systems not solvable by standard symmetry analysis

A class of two-dimensional systems of second-order ordinary differential equations is identified in which a system requires fewer Lie point symmetries than required to solve it. The procedure distinguishes among those which are linearizable, complex-linearizable and solvable systems. We also present the underlying concept diagrammatically that provides an analogue in $\Re^{3}$ of the geometric linearizability criteria in $\Re^2$.

Exact Solutions of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations by the Method of Group Foliation Reduction

A novel symmetry method for finding exact solutions to nonlinear PDEs is illustrated by applying it to a semilinear reaction-diffusion equation in multi-dimensions. The method uses a separation ansatz to solve an equivalent first-order group foliation system whose independent and dependent variables respectively consist of the invariants and differential invariants of a given one-dimensional group of point symmetries for the reaction-diffusion equation. With this group-foliation reduction method, solutions of the reaction-diffusion equation are obtained in an explicit form, including group-invariant similarity solutions and travelling-wave solutions, as well as dynamically interesting solutions that are not invariant under any of the point symmetries admitted by this equation.

Gender Recognition in Walk Gait through 3D Motion by Quadratic Bezier Curve and Statistical Techniques

Motion capture is the process of recording the movement of objects or people. It is used in military, entertainment, sports, and medical applications, and for validation of computer vision[2] and robotics. In filmmaking and video game development, it refers to recording actions of human actors, and using that information to animate digital character models in 2D or 3D computer animation. When it includes face and fingers or captures subtle

Bianchi Type I Cosmology in Generalized Saez-Ballester Theory via Noether Gauge Symmetry

In this paper, we investigate the generalized Saez-Ballester scalar-tensor theory of gravity via Noether gauge symmetry (NGS) in the background of Bianchi type I cosmological spacetime. We start with the Lagrangian of our model and calculate its gauge symmetries and corresponding invariant quantities. We obtain the potential function for the scalar field in the exponential form. For all the symmetries obtained, we determine the gauge functions corresponding to each gauge symmmetry which include constant and dynamic gauge. We discuss cosmological implications of our model and show that it is compatible with the observational data.

Linearizability of Systems of Ordinary Differential Equations Obtained by Complex Symmetry Analysis

Five equivalence classes had been found for systems of two second-order ordinary differential equations, transformable to linear equations (linearizable systems) by a change of variables. An "optimal (or simplest) canonical form" of linear systems had been established to obtain the symmetry structure, namely with 5, 6, 7, 8 and 15 dimensional Lie algebras. For those systems that arise from a scalar complex second-order ordinary differential equation, treated as a pair of real ordinary differential equations, a "reduced optimal canonical form" is obtained. This form yields three of the five equivalence classes of linearizable systems of two dimensions. We show that there exist 6, 7 and 15-dimensional algebras for these systems and illustrate our results with examples.
