Heat kernel estimates for Markov processes with jump kernels blowing-up at the boundary

In this paper, we study purely discontinuous symmetric Markov processes on closed subsets of ${\mathbb R}^d$, $d\ge 1$, with jump kernels of the form $J(x,y)=|x-y|^{-d-α}{\mathcal B}(x,y)$, $α\in (0,2)$, where the function ${\mathcal B}(x,y)$ may blow up at the boundary of the state space. This extends the framework developed recently for conservative self-similar Markov processes on the upper half-space to a broader geometric setting. Examples of Markov processes that fall into our general framework include traces of isotropic $α$-stable processes in $C^{1,\rm Dini}$ sets, processes in Lipschitz sets arising in connection with the nonlocal Neumann problem, and a large class of resurrected self-similar processes in the closed upper half-space. We establish sharp two-sided heat kernel estimates for these Markov processes. A fundamental difficulty in accomplishing this task is that, in contrast to the existing literature on heat kernels for jump processes, the tails of the associated jump measures in our setting are not uniformly bounded. Thus, standard techniques in the existing literature used to study heat kernels are not applicable. To overcome this obstacle, we employ recently developed weighted functional inequalities specifically designed for jump kernels blowing up at the boundary.

Asymptotic behaviors of subcritical branching killed Brownian motion with drift

In this paper, we study asymptotic behaviors of a subcritical branching killed Brownian motion with drift $-ρ$ and offspring distribution $\{p_k:k\ge 0\}$. Let $\widetildeζ^{-ρ}$ be the extinction time of this subcritical branching killed Brownian motion, $\widetilde{M}_t^{-ρ}$ the maximal position of all the particles alive at time $t$ and $\widetilde{M}^{-ρ}:=\max_{t\ge 0}\widetilde{M}_t^{-ρ}$ the all time maximal position. Let $\mathbb{P}_x$ be the law of this subcritical branching killed Brownian motion when the initial particle is located at $x\in (0,\infty)$. Under the assumption $\sum_{k=1}^\infty k (\log k) p_k <\infty$, we establish the decay rates of $\mathbb{P}_x(\widetildeζ^{-ρ}>t)$ and $\mathbb{P}_x(\widetilde{M}^{-ρ}>y)$ as $t$ and $y$ tend to $\infty$ respectively. We also establish the decay rate of $\mathbb{P}_x(\widetilde{M}_t^{-ρ}>z(t,ρ))$ as $t\to\infty$, where $z(t,ρ)=\sqrt{t}z-ρt$ for $ρ\leq 0$ and $z(t,ρ)=z$ for $ρ>0$. As a consequence, we obtain a Yaglom-type limit theorem.

Branching Brownian motion in a periodic environment and existence of pulsating travelling waves

We study the limits of the additive and derivative martingales of one-dimensional branching Brownian motion in a periodic environment. Then we prove the existence of pulsating travelling wave solutions of the corresponding F-KPP equation in the supercritical and critical cases by representing the solutions probabilistically in terms of the limits of the additive and derivative martingales. We also prove that there is no pulsating travelling wave solution in the subcritical case. Our main tools are the spine decomposition and martingale change of measures.

Branching Brownian motion in a periodic environment and uniqueness of pulsating travelling waves

Using one-dimensional branching Brownian motion in a periodic environment, we give probabilistic proofs of the asymptotics and uniqueness of pulsating travelling waves of the F-KPP equation in a periodic environment. This paper is a sequel to [Ren et al. Branching Brownian motion in a periodic environment and existence of pulsating travelling waves], in which we proved the existence of the pulsating travelling waves in the supercritical and critical cases using the limits of the additive and derivative martingales of branching Brownian motion in a periodic environment.

Invariance principle for the maximal position process of branching Brownian motion in random environment

In this paper we study the maximal position process of branching Brownian motion in random spatial environment. The random environment is given by a process $ξ= \left(ξ(x)\right)_{x\in\mathbb{R}}$ satisfying certain conditions. We show that the maximum position $M_t$ of particles alive at time $t$ satisfies a quenched strong law of large numbers and an annealed invariance principle.

Three Favorite Edges Occurs Infinitely Often for One-Dimensional Simple Random Walk

For a one-dimensional simple symmetric random walk $(S_n)$, an edge $x$ (between points $x-1$ and $x$) is called a favorite edge at time $n$ if its local time at $n$ achieves the maximum among all edges. In this paper, we show that with probability 1 three favorite edges occurs infinitely often. Our work is inspired by Tóth and Werner [Combin. Probab. Comput. {\bf 6} (1997) 359-369], and Ding and Shen [Ann. Probab. {\bf 46} (2018) 2545-2561], disproves a conjecture mentioned in Remark 1 on page 368 of Tóth and Werner [Combin. Probab. Comput. {\bf 6} (1997) 359-369].

Factorization and estimates of Dirichlet heat kernels for non-local operators with critical killings

In this paper we discuss non-local operators with killing potentials, which may not be in the standard Kato class. We first discuss factorization of their Dirichlet heat kernels in metric measure spaces. Then we establish explicit estimates of the Dirichlet heat kernels under critical killings in $C^{1,1}$ open subsets of $\mathbb{R}^d$ or in $\mathbb{R}^d\setminus\{0\}$. The decay rates of our explicit estimates come from the values of the multiplicative constants in the killing potentials. Our method also provides an alternative and unified proof of the main results of \cite{CKS10a, CKS10b, CKS-AOP}.

Spine decomposition and $L\log L$ criterion for superprocesses with non-local branching mechanisms

In this paper, we provide a pathwise spine decomposition for superprocesses with both local and non-local branching mechanisms under a martingale change of measure. This result complements the related results obtained in Evans (1993), Kyprianou et al. (2012) and Liu, Ren and Song (2009) for superprocesses with purely local branching mechanisms and in Chen, Ren and Song (2016) and Kyprianou and Palau (2016) for multitype superprocesses. As an application of this decomposition, we obtain necessary/sufficient conditions for the limit of the fundamental martingale to be non-degenerate. In particular, we obtain extinction properties of superprocesses with non-local branching mechanisms as well as a Kesten-Stigum $L\log L$ theorem for the fundamental martingale.

Williams decomposition for superprocesses

We decompose the genealogy of a general superprocess with spatially dependent branching mechanism with respect to the last individual alive (Williams decomposition). This is a generalization of the main result of Delmas and Hénard [Electron. J. Probab.,18,1-43,2013] where only superprocesses with spatially dependent quadratic branching mechanism were considered. As an application of the Williams decomposition, we prove that, for some superprocesses, the normalized total mass will converge to a point mass at its extinction time. This generalizes a result of Tribe [Ann. Probab.,20,286-311,1992] in the sense that our branching mechanism is more general.

Limit Theorems for Some Critical Superprocesses

In this paper we establish some conditional limit theorems for some critical superprocesses $X=\{X_t, t\ge 0\}$. First we identify the rate of non-extinction. Then we show that, for a large class of functions $f$, conditioned on non-extinction at time $t$, the limit, as $t\to\infty$, of $t^{-1}\langle f, X_t\rangle$ exists in distribution and we identify this limit. Finally, we also establish, under some conditions, a central limit theorem for $\langle f, X_t\rangle$ conditioned on non-extinction at time $t$.

Stochastic flows for Lévy processes with Hölder drifts

In this paper we study the following stochastic differential equation (SDE) in ${\mathbb R}^d$: $$ \mathrm{d} X_t= \mathrm{d} Z_t + b(t, X_t)\mathrm{d} t, \quad X_0=x, $$ where $Z$ is a Lévy process. We show that for a large class of Lévy processes ${Z}$ and Hölder continuous drift $b$, the SDE above has a unique strong solution for every starting point $x\in{\mathbb R}^d$. Moreover, these strong solutions form a $C^1$-stochastic flow. As a consequence, we show that, when ${Z}$ is an $α$-stable-type Lévy process with $α\in (0, 2)$ and $b$ is bounded and $β$-Hölder continuous with $β\in (1- α/{2},1)$, the SDE above has a unique strong solution. When $α\in (0, 1)$, this in particular solves an open problem from Priola \cite{Pr1}. Moreover, we obtain a Bismut type derivative formula for $\nabla {\mathbb E}_x f(X_t)$ when ${Z}$ is a subordinate Brownian motion. To study the SDE above, we first study the following nonlocal parabolic equation with Hölder continuous $b$ and $f$: $$ \partial_t u+{\mathscr L} u+b\cdot \nabla u+f=0,\quad u(1, \cdot )=0, $$ where $\mathscr L$ is the generator of the Lévy process ${Z}$.

Strong law of large numbers for supercritical superprocesses under second moment condition

Suppose that $X=\{X_t, t\ge 0\}$ is a supercritical superprocess on a locally compact separable metric space $(E, m)$. Suppose that the spatial motion of $X$ is a Hunt process satisfying certain conditions and that the branching mechanism is of the form $$ ψ(x,λ)=-a(x)λ+b(x)λ^2+\int_{(0,+\infty)}(e^{-λy}-1+λy)n(x,dy), \quad x\in E, \quadλ> 0, $$ where $a\in \mathcal{B}_b(E)$, $b\in \mathcal{B}_b^+(E)$ and $n$ is a kernel from $E$ to $(0,\infty)$ satisfying $$ \sup_{x\in E}\int_0^\infty y^2 n(x,dy)<\infty. $$ Put $T_tf(x)=\mathbb{P}_{δ_x}< f,X_t>$. Let $λ_0>0$ be the largest eigenvalue of the generator $L$ of $T_t$, and $ϕ_0$ and $\hatϕ_0$ be the eigenfunctions of $L$ and $\hat{L}$ (the dural of $L$) respectively associated with $λ_0$. Under some conditions on the spatial motion and the $ϕ_0$-transformed semigroup of $T_t$, we prove that for a large class of suitable functions $f$, we have $$ \lim_{t\rightarrow\infty}e^{-λ_0 t}< f, X_t> = W_\infty\int_E\hatϕ_0(y)f(y)m(dy),\quad \mathbb{P}_μ{-a.s.}, $$ for any finite initial measure $μ$ on $E$ with compact support, where $W_\infty$ is the martingale limit defined by $W_\infty:=\lim_{t\to\infty}e^{-λ_0t}< ϕ_0, X_t>$. Moreover, the exceptional set in the above limit does not depend on the initial measure $μ$ and the function $f$.

Central Limit Theorems for Supercritical Branching Nonsymmetric Markov Processes

In this paper, we establish a spatial central limit theorem for a large class of supercritical branching, not necessarily symmetric, Markov processes with spatially dependent branching mechanisms satisfying a second moment condition. This central limit theorem generalizes and unifies all the central limit theorems obtained recently in \cite{RSZ2} for supercritical branching symmetric Markov processes. To prove our central limit theorem, we have to carefully develop the spectral theory of nonsymmetric strongly continuous semigroups which should be of independent interest.

Central Limit Theorems for Supercritical Superprocesses

In this paper, we establish a central limit theorem for a large class of general supercritical superprocesses with spatially dependent branching mechanisms satisfying a second moment condition. This central limit theorem generalizes and unifies all the central limit theorems obtained recently in Miłoś (2012, arXiv:1203:6661) and Ren, Song and Zhang (2013, to appear in Acta Appl. Math., DOI 10.1007/s10440-013-9837-0) for supercritical super Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes. The advantage of this central limit theorem is that it allows us to characterize the limit Gaussian field. In the case of supercritical super Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes with non-spatially dependent branching mechanisms, our central limit theorem reveals more independent structures of the limit Gaussian field.

Functional central limit theorems for supercritical superprocesses

In this paper, we establish some functional central limit theorems for a large class of general supercritical superprocesses with spatially dependent branching mechanisms satisfying a second moment condition. In the particular case when the state $E$ is a finite set and the underline motion is an irreducible Markov chain on $E$, our results are superprocess analogs of the functional central limit theorems of \cite{Janson} for supercritical multitype branching processes. The results of this paper are refinements of the central limit theorems in \cite{RSZ3}.

Weak extinction versus global exponential growth of total mass for superdiffusions

Consider a superdiffusion $X$ on $\mathbb R^d$ corresponding to the semilinear operator $\mathcal{A}(u)=Lu+βu-ku^2,$ where $L$ is a second order elliptic operator, $β(\cdot)$ is in the Kato class and bounded from above, and $k(\cdot)\ge 0$ is bounded on compact subsets of $\R^d$ and is positive on a set of positive Lebesgue measure. The main purpose of this paper is to complement the results obtained in \cite{Englander:2004}, in the following sense. Let $λ_\infty $ be the $L^\infty$-growth bound of the semigroup corresponding to the Schrödinger operator $L+β$. If $λ_\infty \neq0$, then we prove that, in some sense, the exponential growth/decay rate of $\|X_t\|$, the total mass of $X_t$, is $λ_\infty $. We also describe the limiting behavior of $\exp(-λ_\infty t)\|X_t\|$ in these cases. This should be compared to the result in \cite{Englander:2004}, which says that the generalized principal eigenvalue $λ_2$ of the operator gives the rate of {\it local} growth when it is positive, and implies local extinction otherwise. It is easy to show that $λ_{\infty}\ge λ_2$, and we discuss cases when $λ_{\infty}> λ_2$ and when $λ_{\infty}= λ_2$. When $λ_\infty =0$, and under some conditions on $β$, we give a sufficient and necessary condition for the superdiffusion $X$ to exhibit weak extinction. We show that the branching intensity $k$ affects weak extinction; this should be compared to the known result that $k$ does not affect weak {\it local} extinction (which only depends on the sign of $λ_2$, and which turns out to be equivalent to local extinction) of $X$.

Central Limit Theorems for Super-OU Processes

In this paper we study supercritical super-OU processes with general branching mechanisms satisfying a second moment condition. We establish central limit theorems for the super-OU processes. In the small and crtical branching rate cases, our central limit theorems sharpen the corresponding results in the recent preprint of Milos in that the limit normal random variables in our central limit theorems are non-degenerate. Our central limit theorems in the large branching rate case are completely new. The main tool of the paper is the so called "backbone decomposition" of superprocesses.

Dirichlet Heat Kernel Estimates for Subordinate Brownian Motions with Gaussian Components

In this paper, we derive explicit sharp two-sided estimates for the Dirichlet heat kernels, in C^{1,1} open sets D in R^d, of a large class of subordinate Brownian motions with Gaussian components. When D is bounded, our sharp two-sided Dirichlet heat kernel estimates hold for all t>0. Integrating the heat kernel estimates with respect to the time variable t, we obtain sharp two-sided estimates for the Green functions, in bounded C^{1,1} open sets, of such subordinate Brownian motions with Gaussian components.

Global uniform boundary Harnack principle with explicit decay rate and its application

In this paper, we consider a large class of subordinate Brownian motions $X$ via subordinators with Laplace exponents which are complete Bernstein functions satisfying some mild scaling conditions at zero and at infinity. We first discuss how such conditions govern the behavior of the subordinator and the corresponding subordinate Brownian motion for both large and small time and space. Then we establish a global uniform boundary Harnack principle in (unbounded) open sets for the subordinate Brownian motion. When the open set satisfies the interior and exterior ball conditions with radius $R >0$, we get a global uniform boundary Harnack principle with explicit decay rate. Our boundary Harnack principle is global in the sense that it holds for all $R>0$ and the comparison constants do not depend on $R$, and it is uniform in the sense that it holds for all balls with radii $r \le R$ and the comparison constants depend neither on $D$ nor on $r$. As an application, we give sharp two-sided estimates for the transition density and the Green function of such subordinate Brownian motions in the half-space.

Asymmetric non-Gaussian effects in a tumor growth model with immunization

The dynamical evolution of a tumor growth model, under immune surveillance and subject to asymmetric non-Gaussian $α$-stableLévy noise, is explored. The lifetime of a tumor staying in the range between the tumor-free state and the stable tumor state, and the likelihood of noise-inducing tumor extinction, are characterized by the mean exit time (also called mean residence time) and the escape probability, respectively. For various initial densities of tumor cells, the mean exit time and the escape probability are computed with different noise parameters. It is observed that unlike the Gaussian noise or symmetric non-Gaussian noise, the asymmetric non-Gaussian noise plays a constructive role in the tumor evolution in this simple model. By adjusting the noise parameters, the mean exit time can be shortened and the escape probability can be increased, simultaneously. This suggests that a tumor may be mitigated with higher probability in a shorter time, under certain external environmental stimuli.

Boundary Harnack principle and Martin boundary at infinity for subordinate Brownian motions

In this paper we study the Martin boundary of unbounded open sets at infinity for a large class of subordinate Brownian motions. We first prove that, for such subordinate Brownian motions, the uniform boundary Harnack principle at infinity holds for arbitrary unbounded open sets. Then we introduce the notion of $κ$-fatness at infinity for open sets and show that the Martin boundary at infinity of any such open set consists of exactly one point and that point is a minimal Martin boundary point.

Dirichlet heat kernel estimates for fractional Laplacian with gradient perturbation

Suppose that $d\geq2$ and $α\in(1,2)$. Let D be a bounded $C^{1,1}$ open set in $\mathbb{R}^d$ and b an $\mathbb{R}^d$-valued function on $\mathbb{R}^d$ whose components are in a certain Kato class of the rotationally symmetric α-stable process. In this paper, we derive sharp two-sided heat kernel estimates for $\mathcal{L}^b=Δ^{α/2}+b\cdot\nabla$ in D with zero exterior condition. We also obtain the boundary Harnack principle for $\mathcal{L}^b$ in D with explicit decay rate.

Mean exit time and escape probability for dynamical systems driven by Levy noise

The mean first exit time and escape probability are utilized to quantify dynamical behaviors of stochastic differential equations with non-Gaussian alpha-stable type Levy motions. Both deterministic quantities are characterized by differential-integral equations(i.e.,differential equations with non local terms) but with different exterior conditions. The non-Gaussianity of noises manifests as nonlocality at the level of mean exit time and escape probability. An objective of this paper is to make mean exit time and escape probability as efficient computational tools, to the applied probability community, for quantifying stochastic dynamics. An accurate numerical scheme is developed and validated for computing the mean exit time and escape probability. Asymptotic solution for the mean exit time is given when the pure jump measure in the Levy motion is small. From both the analytical and numerical results, it is observed that the mean exit time depends strongly on the domain size and the value of alpha in the alpha-stable Levy jump measure. The mean exit time can measure which of the two competing factors in alpha-stable Levy motion, i.e. the jump frequency or the jump size, is dominant in helping a process exit a bounded domain. The escape probability is shown to vary with the underlying vector field(i.e.,drift). The mean exit time and escape probability could become discontinuous at the boundary of the domain, when the process is subject to certain deterministic potential and the value of alpha is in (0,1).

Potential theory of subordinate Brownian motions with Gaussian components

In this paper we study a subordinate Brownian motion with a Gaussian component and a rather general discontinuous part. The assumption on the subordinator is that its Laplace exponent is a complete Bernstein function with a Lévy density satisfying a certain growth condition near zero. The main result is a boundary Harnack principle with explicit boundary decay rate for non-negative harmonic functions of the process in $C^{1,1}$ open sets. As a consequence of the boundary Harnack principle, we establish sharp two-sided estimates on the Green function of the subordinate Brownian motion in any bounded $C^{1,1}$ open set $D$ and identify the Martin boundary of $D$ with respect to the subordinate Brownian motion with the Euclidean boundary.

Sharp heat kernel estimates for relativistic stable processes in open sets

In this paper, we establish sharp two-sided estimates for the transition densities of relativistic stable processes [i.e., for the heat kernels of the operators $m-(m^{2/α}-Δ)^{α/2}$] in $C^{1,1}$ open sets. Here $m>0$ and $α\in(0,2)$. The estimates are uniform in $m\in(0,M]$ for each fixed $M>0$. Letting $m\downarrow0$, we recover the Dirichlet heat kernel estimates for $Δ^{α/2}:=-(-Δ)^{α/2}$ in $C^{1,1}$ open sets obtained in [14]. Sharp two-sided estimates are also obtained for Green functions of relativistic stable processes in bounded $C^{1,1}$ open sets.

Trace estimates for relativistic stable processes

In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior, as the time $t$ goes to zero, of the trace of the semigroup of a killed relativistic $α$-stable process in bounded $C^{1,1}$ open sets and bounded Lipschitz open sets. More precisely, we establish the asymptotic expansion in terms of $t$ of the trace with an error bound of order $t^{2/α}t^{-d/α}$ for $C^{1,1}$ open sets and of order $t^{1/α}t^{-d/α}$ for Lipschitz open sets. Compared with the corresponding expansions for stable processes, there are more terms between the orders $t^{-d/α}$ and $t^{(2-d)/α}$ for $C^{1,1}$ open sets, and, when $α\in (0, 1]$, between the orders $t^{-d/α}$ and $t^{(1-d)/α}$ for Lipschitz open sets.

Global Heat Kernel Estimate for Relativistic Stable Processes in Exterior Open Sets

In this paper, sharp two-sided estimates for the transition densities of relativistic $α$-stable processes with mass $m\in (0, 1]$ in $C^{1,1}$ exterior open sets are established for all time $t>0$. These transition densities are also the Dirichlet heat kernels of $m-(m^{2/α}-Δ)^{α/2}$ with $m\in (0, 1]$ in $C^{1,1}$ exterior open sets. The estimates are uniform in $m$ in the sense that the constants are independent of $m\in (0, 1]$. As a corollary of our main result, we establish sharp two-sided Green function estimates for relativistic $α$-stable processes with mass $m\in (0, 1]$ in $C^{1,1}$ exterior open sets.

Global Heat Kernel Estimates for $Δ+Δ^{α/2}$ in Half-space-like domains

Suppose that $d\ge 1$ and $α\in (0, 2)$. In this paper, by using probabilistic methods, we establish sharp two-sided pointwise estimates for the Dirichlet heat kernels of $\{Δ+ a^αΔ^{α/2}; \ a\in (0, 1]\}$ on half-space-like $C^{1, 1}$ domains in ${\mathbb R}^d$ for all time $t>0$. The large time estimates for half-space-like domains are very different from those for bounded domains. Our estimates are uniform in $a \in (0, 1]$ in the sense that the constants in the estimates are independent of $a\in (0, 1]$. Thus it yields the Dirichlet heat kernel estimates for Brownian motion in half-space-like domains by taking $a\to 0$. Integrating the heat kernel estimates in time $t$, we obtain uniform sharp two-sided estimates for the Green functions of $\{Δ+ a^αΔ^{α/2}; \ a\in (0, 1]\}$ in half-space-like $C^{1, 1}$ domains in ${\mathbb R}^d$.

Minimal thinness for subordinate Brownian motion in half space

Two-sided Green function estimates for killed subordinate Brownian motions

A subordinate Brownian motion is a Lévy process which can be obtained by replacing the time of the Brownian motion by an independent subordinator. The infinitesimal generator of a subordinate Brownian motion is $-ϕ(-Δ)$, where $ϕ$ is the Laplace exponent of the subordinator. In this paper, we consider a large class of subordinate Brownian motions without diffusion component and with $ϕ$ comparable to a regularly varying function at infinity. This class of processes includes symmetric stable processes, relativistic stable processes, sums of independent symmetric stable processes, sums of independent relativistic stable processes, and much more. We give sharp two-sided estimates on the Green functions of these subordinate Brownian motions in any bounded $κ$-fat open set $D$. When $D$ is a bounded $C^{1,1}$ open set, we establish an explicit form of the estimates in terms of the distance to the boundary. As a consequence of such sharp Green function estimates, we obtain a boundary Harnack principle in $C^{1,1}$ open sets with explicit rate of decay.

Heat Kernel Estimate for $Δ+Δ^{α/2}$ in $C^{1,1}$ open sets

We consider a family of pseudo differential operators $\{Δ+ a^αΔ^{α/2}; a\in (0, 1]\}$ on $\bR^d$ for every $d\geq 1$ that evolves continuously from $Δ$ to $Δ+ Δ^{α/2}$, where $α\in (0, 2)$. It gives rise to a family of Lévy processes $\{X^a, a\in (0, 1]\}$ in $\bR^d$, where $X^a$ is the sum of a Brownian motion and an independent symmetric $α$-stable process with weight $a$. We establish sharp two-sided estimates for the heat kernel of $Δ+ a^α Δ^{α/2}$ with zero exterior condition in a family of open subsets, including bounded $C^{1, 1}$ (possibly disconnected) open sets. This heat kernel is also the transition density of the sum of a Brownian motion and an independent symmetric $α$-stable process with weight $a$ in such open sets. Our result is the first sharp two-sided estimates for the transition density of a Markov process with both diffusion and jump components in open sets. Moreover, our result is uniform in $a$ in the sense that the constants in the estimates are independent of $a\in (0, 1]$ so that it recovers the Dirichlet heat kernel estimates for Brownian motion by taking $a\to 0$. Integrating the heat kernel estimates in time $t$, we recover the two-sided sharp uniform Green function estimates of $X^a$ in bounded $C^{1,1}$ open sets in $\bR^d$, which were recently established in \cite{CKSV2} by using a completely different approach.
