Various spectra and energies of subgroup generating bipartite graph

Let $L(G)$ be the set of all subgroups of a group $G$. The subgroup generating bipartite graph $\mathcal{B}(G)$ defined on $G$ is a bipartite graph whose vertex set is partitioned into two sets $G \times G$ and $L(G)$, and two vertices $(a, b) \in G \times G$ and $H \in L(G)$ are adjacent if $H$ is generated by $a$ and $b$. In this paper, we compute various spectra and energies of $\mathcal{B}(G)$ and determine whether $\mathcal{B}(G)$ is hypoenergetic, hyperenergetic, CN-hyperenergetic, L-hyperenergetic or Q-hyperenergetic if $G$ is a dihedral group of order $2p$ and $2p^2$ and dicyclic group of order $4p$ and $4p^2$, where $p$ is any prime. We also show that $\mathcal{B}(G)$ satisfies E-LE conjecture for these groups.

Common neighbourhood spectrum and energy of commuting conjugacy class graph

In this paper we compute common neighbourhood (abbreviated as CN) spectrum and energy of commuting conjugacy class graph of several families of finite non-abelian groups. As a consequence of our results we show that the commuting conjugacy class graphs of the groups $D_{2n}$, $T_{4n}$, $SD_{8n}$, $U_{(n,m)}$, $U_{6n}$, $V_{8n}$, $G(p, m, n)$ and some families of groups whose central quotient is isomorphic to $D_{2n}$ or $Z_p \times Z_p$, for some prime $p$, are CN-integral but not CN-hyperenergetic.

Solvable conjugacy class graph of groups

In this paper we introduce the graph $Γ_{sc}(G)$ associated with a group $G$, called the solvable conjugacy class graph (abbreviated as SCC-graph), whose vertices are the nontrivial conjugacy classes of $G$ and two distinct conjugacy classes $C, D$ are adjacent if there exist $x \in C$ and $y \in D$ such that $\langle x, y\rangle$ is solvable. We discuss the connectivity, girth, clique number, and several other properties of the SCC-graph. One of our results asserts that there are only finitely many finite groups whose SCC-graph has given clique number~$d$, and we find explicitly the list of such groups with $d=2$.

Genus of commuting conjugacy class graph of groups

For a non-abelian group $G$, its commuting conjugacy class graph $\mathcal{CCC}(G)$ is a simple undirected graph whose vertex set is the set of conjugacy classes of the non-central elements of $G$ and two distinct vertices $x^G$ and $y^G$ are adjacent if there exists some elements $x' \in x^G$ and $y' \in y^G$ such that $x'y' = y'x'$. In this paper we compute the genus of $\mathcal{CCC}(G)$ for six well-known classes of non-abelian two-generated groups (viz. $D_{2n}, SD_{8n}, Q_{4m}, V_{8n}, U_{(n, m)}$ and $G(p, m, n)$) and determine whether $\mathcal{CCC}(G)$ for these groups are planar, toroidal, double-toroidal or triple-toroidal.

Relative g-noncommuting graph of finite groups

Let $G$ be a finite group. For a fixed element $g$ in $G$ and a given subgroup $H$ of $G$, the relative $g$-noncommuting graph of $G$ is a simple undirected graph whose vertex set is $G$ and two vertices $x$ and $y$ are adjacent if $x \in H$ or $y \in H$ and $[x,y] \neq g, g^{-1}$. We denote this graph by $Γ_{H, G}^g$. In this paper, we obtain computing formulae for degree of any vertex in $Γ_{H, G}^g$ and characterize whether $Γ_{H, G}^g$ is a tree, star graph, lollipop or a complete graph together with some properties of $Γ_{H, G}^g$ involving isomorphism of graphs. We also present certain relations between the number of edges in $Γ_{H, G}^g$ and certain generalized commuting probabilities of $G$ which give some computing formulae for the number of edges in $Γ_{H, G}^g$. Finally, we conclude this paper by deriving some bounds for the number of edges in $Γ_{H, G}^g$.

Spectral aspects of commuting conjugacy class graph of finite groups

The commuting conjugacy class graph of a non-abelian group $G$, denoted by $\mathcal{CCC}(G)$, is a simple undirected graph whose vertex set is the set of conjugacy classes of the non-central elements of $G$ and two distinct vertices $x^G$ and $y^G$ are adjacent if there exists some elements $x' \in x^G$ and $y' \in y^G$ such that $x'y' = y'x'$. In this paper we compute various spectra and energies of commuting conjugacy class graph of the groups $D_{2n}, Q_{4m}, U_{(n, m)}, V_{8n}$ and $SD_{8n}$. Our computation shows that $\mathcal{CCC}(G)$ is super integral for these groups. We compare various energies and as a consequence it is observed that $\mathcal{CCC}(G)$ satisfy E-LE Conjecture of Gutman et al. We also provide negative answer to a question posed by Dutta et al. comparing Laplacian and Signless Laplacian energy. Finally, we conclude this paper by characterizing the above mentioned groups $G$ such that $\mathcal{CCC}(G)$ is hyperenergetic, L-hyperenergetic or Q-hyperenergetic.

Spectrum and energies of commuting conjugacy class graph of a finite group

In this paper we compute spectrum, Laplacian spectrum, signless Laplacian spectrum and their corresponding energies of commuting conjugacy class graph of the group $G(p, m, n) = \langle x, y : x^{p^m} = y^{p^n} = [x, y]^p = 1, [x, [x, y]] = [y, [x, y]] = 1\rangle$, where $p$ is any prime, $m \geq 1$ and $n \geq 1$. We derive some consequences along with the fact that commuting conjugacy class graph of $G(p, m, n)$ is super integral. We also compare various energies and determine whether commuting conjugacy class graph of $G(p, m, n)$ is hyperenergetic, L-hyperenergetic or Q-hyperenergetic.

Spectrum and energy of non-commuting graphs of finite groups

Let $G$ be a finite non-abelian group and $Γ_{nc}(G)$ be its non-commuting graph. In this paper, we compute spectrum and energy of $Γ_{nc}(G)$ for certain classes of finite groups. As a consequence of our results we construct infinite families of integral complete $r$-partite graphs. We compare energy and Laplacian energy (denoted by $E(Γ_{nc}(G))$ and $LE(Γ_{nc}(G))$ respectively) of $Γ_{nc}(G)$ and conclude that $E(Γ_{nc}(G)) \leq LE(Γ_{nc}(G))$ for those groups except for some non-abelian groups of order $pq$. This shows that the conjecture posed in [Gutman, I., Abreu, N. M. M., Vinagre, C. T.M., Bonifacioa, A. S and Radenkovic, S. Relation between energy and Laplacian energy, MATCH Commun. Math. Comput. Chem., 59: 343--354, (2008)] does not hold for non-commuting graphs of certain finite groups, which also produces new families of counter examples to the above mentioned conjecture.

On Generalized Commutator

In this paper, we consider some generalized commutator equations in a finite group and show that the number of solutions of such equations are characters of that group. We also obtain explicit formula for this character, considering the equation $[\cdots[[[x_1,x_2],x_3],$ $x_4],\cdots, x_n] = g$, for some well-known classes of finite groups in terms of orders of the group, its center and its commutator subgroup. This paper is an extension of the works of Pournaki and Sobhani in [22].

On generalized non-commuting graph of a finite ring

Let $S, K$ be two subrings of a finite ring $R$. Then the generalized non-commuting graph of subrings $S, K$ of $R$, denoted by $Γ_{S, K}$, is a simple graph whose vertex set is $(S \cup K) \setminus (C_K(S) \cup C_S(K))$ and two distinct vertices $a, b$ are adjacent if and only if $a \in S$ or $b \in S$ and $ab \neq ba$. We determine the diameter, girth and some dominating sets for $Γ_{S, K}$. Some connections between the $Γ_{S, K}$ and $\Pr(S, K)$ are also obtained. Further, $\Z$-isoclinism between two pairs of finite rings is defined and showed that the generalized non-commuting graphs of two $\Z$-isoclinic pairs are isomorphic under some condition.

On super integral groups

A finite non-abelian group $G$ is called super integral if the spectrum, Laplacian spectrum and signless Laplacian spectrum of its commuting graph contain only integers. In this paper, we first compute various spectra of several families of finite non-abelian groups and conclude that those groups are super integral. As an application of our results we obtain some positive integers $n$ such that $n$-centralizer groups are super integral. We also obtain some positive rational numbers $r$ such that $G$ is super integral if it has commutativity degree $r$. In the last section, we show that $G$ is super integral if $G$ is not isomorphic to $S_4$ and its commuting graph is planar. We conclude the paper showing that $G$ is super integral if its commuting graph is toroidal.

Spectrum of commuting graphs of some classes of finite groups

In this paper, we initiate the study of spectrum of the commuting graphs of finite non-abelian groups. We first compute the spectrum of this graph for several classes of finite groups, in particular AC-groups. We show that the commuting graphs of finite non-abelian AC-groups are integral. We also show that the commuting graph of a finite non-abelian group $G$ is integral if $G$ is not isomorphic to the symmetric group of degree $4$ and the commuting graph of $G$ is planar. Further it is shown that the commuting graph of $G$ is integral if the commuting graph of $G$ is toroidal.

On commuting probability of finite rings

The commuting probability of a finite ring $R$, denoted by $\Pr(R)$, is the probability that any two randomly chosen elements of $R$ commute. In this paper, we obtain several bounds for $\Pr(R)$ through a generalization of $\Pr(R)$. Further, we define ${\Z}$-isoclinism between two pairs of rings and show that the generalized commuting probability, defined in this paper, is invariant under ${\Z}$-isoclinism between two pairs of finite rings.
