Adjacency-diametrical matrix of a graph

The adjacency-diametrical matrix (AD matrix) of a connected graph $G$ with diameter $d$, denoted by $AD(G)$, is the matrix indexed by the vertices of $G$ in which the $(i,j)$-entry of $AD(G)$ is $1$ if $d_G(v_i,v_j)=1$, is $d$ if $d_G(v_i,v_j)=d$, and $0$ otherwise, where $d_G(v_i,v_j)$ denotes the distance between the vertices $v_i$ and $v_j$ in $G$. We determine the spectrum of the AD matrix for paths, cycles, and double star graphs and obtain its determinant for a connected graph. We characterize a class of bipartite graphs using the coefficients of the characteristic polynomial and the eigenvalues of the AD matrix. We establish bounds relating the eigenvalues of the AD matrix to various graph invariants, and we determine the spectrum of the AD matrix for graphs formed by the join, lexicographic product, and Cartesian product operations under certain conditions on the constituent graphs.

Spectra of generalized corona of graphs constrained by vertex subsets

In this paper, we introduce a generalization of corona of graphs. This construction generalizes the generalized corona of graphs (consequently, the corona of graphs), the cluster of graphs, the corona-vertex subdivision graph of graphs and the corona-edge subdivision graph of graphs. Further, it enables to get some more variants of corona of graphs as its particular cases. To determine the spectra of the adjacency, Laplacian and the signless Laplacian matrices of the above mentioned graphs, we define a notion namely, the coronal of a matrix constrained by an index set, which generalizes the coronal of a graph matrix. Then we prove several results pertain to the determination of this value. Then we determine the characteristic polynomials of the adjacency and the Laplacian matrices of this graph in terms of the characteristic polynomials of the adjacency and the Laplacian matrices of the constituent graphs and the coronal of some matrices related to the constituent graphs. Using these, we derive the characteristic polynomials of the adjacency and the Laplacian matrices of the above mentioned existing variants of corona of graphs, and some more variants of corona of graphs with some special constraints.

Inclusion graph of subgroups of a group

For a finite group $G$, we define the inclusion graph of subgroups of $G$, denoted by $\mathcal I(G)$, is a graph having all the proper subgroups of $G$ as its vertices and two distinct vertices $H$ and $K$ in $\mathcal I(G)$ are adjacent if and only if either $H \subset K$ or $K \subset H$. In this paper, we classify the finite groups whose inclusion graph of subgroups is one of complete, bipartite, tree, star, path, cycle, disconnected, claw-free. Also we classify the finite abelian groups whose inclusion graph of subgroups is planar. For any given finite group, we estimate the clique number, chromatic number, girth of its inclusion graph of subgroups and for a finite abelian group, we estimate the diameter of its inclusion graph of subgroups. Among the other results, we show that some groups can be determined by their inclusion graph of subgroups

Classification of finite groups with toroidal or projective-planar permutability graphs

Let $G$ be a group. The permutability graph of subgroups of $G$, denoted by $Γ(G)$, is a graph having all the proper subgroups of $G$ as its vertices, and two subgroups are adjacent in $Γ(G)$ if and only if they permute. In this paper, we classify the finite groups whose permutability graphs are toroidal or projective-planar. In addition, we classify the finite groups whose permutability graph does not contain one of $K_{3,3}$, $K_{1,5}$, $C_6$, $P_5$, or $P_6$ as a subgraph.

Coprime graph of subgroups of a group

Let $G$ be a group. We define the coprime graph of subgroups of $G$, denoted by $\mathcal P(G)$, is a graph whose vertex set is the set of all proper subgroups of $G$, and two distinct vertices are adjacent if and only if the order of the corresponding subgroups are coprime. In this paper, we study some connections between algebraic properties of a group and graph theoretic properties of its coprime graph.

Intersection graph of cyclic subgroups of groups

Let $G$ be a group. The intersection graph of cyclic subgroups of $G$, denoted by $\mathscr I_c(G)$, is a graph having all the proper cyclic subgroups of $G$ as its vertices and two distinct vertices in $\mathscr I_c(G)$ are adjacent if and only if their intersection is non-trivial. In this paper, we classify the finite groups whose intersection graph of cyclic subgroups is one of totally disconnected, complete, star, path, cycle. We show that for a given finite group $G$, $girth(\mathscr I_c (G)) \in \{3, \infty\}$. Moreover, we classify all finite non-cyclic abelian groups whose intersection graph of cyclic subgroups is planar. Also for any group $G$, we determine the independence number, clique cover number of $\mathscr I_c (G)$ and show that $\mathscr I_c (G)$ is weakly $α$-perfect. Among the other results, we determine the values of $n$ for which $\mathscr I_c (\mathbb{Z}_n)$ is regular and estimate its domination number.

Permutability graph of cyclic subgroups

Let $G$ be a group. \textit{The permutability graph of cyclic subgroups of $G$}, denoted by $Γ_c(G)$, is a graph with all the proper cyclic subgroups of $G$ as its vertices and two distinct vertices in $Γ_c(G)$ are adjacent if and only if the corresponding subgroups permute in $G$. In this paper, we classify the finite groups whose permutability graph of cyclic subgroups belongs to one of the following: bipartite, tree, star graph, triangle-free, complete bipartite, $P_n$, $C_n$, $K_4$, $K_{1,3}$-free, unicyclic. We classify abelian groups whose permutability graph of cyclic subgroups are planar. Also we investigate the connectedness, diameter, girth, totally disconnectedness, completeness and regularity of these graphs.

Toroidality and projective-planarity of intersection graphs of subgroups of finite groups

Let $G$ be a group. The intersection graph of subgroups of $G$, denoted by $\mathscr{I}(G)$, is a graph with all the proper subgroups of $G$ as its vertices and two distinct vertices in $\mathscr{I}(G)$ are adjacent if and only if the corresponding subgroups having a non-trivial intersection in $G$. In this paper, we classify the finite groups whose intersection graph of subgroups are toroidal or projective-planar. In addition, we classify the finite groups whose intersection graph of subgroups are one of bipartite, complete bipartite, tree, star graph, unicyclic, acyclic, cycle, path or totally disconnected. Also we classify the finite groups whose intersection graph of subgroups does not contain one of $K_5$, $K_4$, $C_5$, $C_4$, $P_4$, $P_3$, $P_2$, $K_{1,3}$, $K_{2,3}$ or $K_{1,4}$ as a subgraph. We estimate the girth of the intersection graph of subgroups of finite groups. Moreover, we characterize some finite groups by using their intersection graphs. Finally, we obtain the clique cover number of the intersection graph of subgroups of groups and show that intersection graph of subgroups of groups are weakly $α$-perfect.
