On pp-Dunford integrable functions with values in Banach spaces

Let (Ω,Σ,μ)(Ω,Σ,μ) be a complete probability space, XX a Banach space and 1≤p<∞1\leq p<\infty. In this paper we discuss several aspects of pp-Dunford integrable functions f:Ω→Xf:Ω\to X. Special attention is paid to the compactness of the Dunford operator of ff. We also study the pp-Bochner integrability of the composition u∘f:Ω→Yu\circ f:Ω\to Y, where uu is a pp-summing operator from XX to another Banach space YY. Finally, we also provide some tests of pp-Dunford integrability by using w∗w^*-thick subsets of X∗X^*.

Domination spaces and factorization of linear and multilinear summing operators

It is well known that not every summability property for non linear operators leads to a factorization theorem. In this paper we undertake a detailed study of factorization schemes for summing linear and nonlinear operators. Our aim is to integrate under the same theory a wide family of classes of mappings for which a Pietsch type factorization theorem holds. We analyze the class of linear operators that are defined by a summability inequality involving a homogeneous map. Our construction includes the cases of absolutely pp-summing linear operators, (p,σ)(p,σ)-absolutely continuous linear operators, factorable strongly pp-summing multilinear operators, (p1,…,pn)(p_1,\ldots,p_n)-dominated multilinear operators and dominated (p1,…,pn;σ)(p_1,\ldots, p_n;σ)-continuous multilinear operators.

The Dvoretsky-Rogers Theorem for vector valued integrals on function spaces

We show a Dvoretsky-Rogers type Theorem for the adapted version of the qq-summing operators to the topology of the convergence of the vector valued integrals on Banach function spaces. In the pursuit of this objective we prove that the mere summability of the identity map does not guaranty that the space has to be finite dimensional, contrarily to the classical case. Some local compactness assumptions on the unit balls are required. Our results open the door to new convergence theorems and tools regarding summability of series of integrable functions and approximation in function spaces, since we may find infinite dimensional spaces in which convergence of the integrals ---our vector valued version of convergence in the weak topology--- is equivalent to the convergence with respect to the norm. Examples and applications are also given.

Competing supersolids of Bose-Bose mixtures in a triangular lattice

We study the ground state properties of a frustrated two-species mixture of hard-core bosons on a triangular lattice, as a function of tunable amplitudes for tunnelling and interactions. By combining three different methods, a self-consistent cluster mean-field, exact diagonalizations and effective theories, we unravel a very rich and complex phase diagram. More specifically, we discuss the existence of three original mixture supersolids: (i) a commensurate with frozen densities and supersolidity in spin degrees of freedom, in a regime of strong interspecies interactions; and (ii) when this interaction is weaker, two mutually competing incommensurate supersolids. Finally, we show how these phases can be stabilized by a quantum fluctuation enhancement of peculiar insulating parent states.

When is the Haar measure a Pietsch measure for nonlinear mappings?

We show that, as in the linear case, the normalized Haar measure on a compact topological group GG is a Pietsch measure for nonlinear summing mappings on closed translation invariant subspaces of C(G)C(G). This answers a question posed to the authors by J. Diestel. We also show that our result applies to several well-studied classes of nonlinear summing mappings. In the final section some problems are proposed.
