N-point spherical functions and asymptotic boundary KZB equations

Let $G$ be a split real connected Lie group with finite center. In the first part of the paper we define and study formal elementary spherical functions. They are formal power series analogues of elementary spherical functions on $G$ in which the role of the quasi-simple admissible $G$-representations is replaced by Verma modules. For generic highest weight we express the formal elementary spherical functions in terms of Harish-Chandra series and integrate them to spherical functions on the regular part of $G$. We show that they produce eigenstates for spin versions of quantum hyperbolic Calogero-Moser systems. In the second part of the paper we define and study special subclasses of global and formal elementary spherical functions, which we call global and formal $N$-point spherical functions. Formal $N$-point spherical functions arise as limits of correlation functions for boundary Wess-Zumino-Witten conformal field theory on the cylinder when the position variables tend to infinity. We construct global $N$-point spherical functions in terms of compositions of equivariant differential intertwiners associated with principal series representations, and express them in terms of Eisenstein integrals. We show that the eigenstates of the spin quantum Calogero-Moser system associated to $N$-point spherical functions are also common eigenfunctions of a commuting family of first-order differential operators, which we call asymptotic boundary Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov-Bernard operators. These operators are explicitly given in terms of $θ$-folded classical dynamical $r$-matrices and associated dynamical $k$-matrices.

Poisson sigma model and semiclassical quantization of integrable systems

In this paper we outline the construction of semiclassical eigenfunctions of integrable models in terms of the semiclassical path integral for the Poisson sigma model with the target space being the phase space of the integrable system. The semiclassical path integral is defined as a formal power series with coefficients being Feynman diagrams. We also argue that in a similar way one can obtain irreducible semiclassical representations of Kontsevich's star product.

Limit Shapes of the Stochastic Six Vertex Model

We show that limit shapes for the stochastic 6-vertex model on a cylinder with the uniform boundary state on one end are solutions to the Burger type equation. Solutions to these equations are studied for step initial conditions. When the circumference of the cylinder goes to infinity the solution corresponding to critical initial densities coincides with the one found by Borodin, Corwin and Gorin.

Perturbative BV theories with Segal-like gluing

This is a survey of our program of perturbative quantization of gauge theories on manifolds with boundary compatible with cutting/pasting and with gauge symmetry treated by means of a cohomological resolution (Batalin-Vilkovisky) formalism. We also give two explicit quantum examples -- abelian BF theory and the Poisson sigma model. This exposition is based on a talk by P.M. at the ICMP 2015 in Santiago de Chile.

Combinatorial Quantum Field Theory and Gluing Formula for Determinants

We define the combinatorial Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator and establish a gluing formula for determinants of discrete Laplacians using a combinatorial Gaussian quantum field theory. In case of a diagonal inner product on cochains we provide an explicit local expression for the discrete Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator. We relate the gluing formula to the corresponding Mayer-Vietoris formula by Burghelea, Friedlander and Kappeler for zeta-determinants of analytic Laplacians, using the approximation theory of Dodziuk. Our argument motivates existence of gluing formulas as a consequence of a gluing principle on the discrete level.

Degenerately Integrable Systems

The subject of this paper is degenerate integrability in Hamiltonian mechanics. It starts with a short survey of degenerate integrability. The first section contains basic notions. It is followed by a number of examples which include the Kepler system, Casimir models, spin Calogero models, spin Ruijsenaars models, and integrable models on symplectic leaves of Poisson Lie groups. The new results are degenerate integrability of relativistic spin Ruijsenaars and Calogero-Moser systems and the duality between them.

Boundary quantum Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations and fusion

In this paper we extend our previous results concerning Jackson integral solutions of the boundary quantum Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations with diagonal K-operators to higher-spin representations of quantum affine $\mathfrak{sl}_2$. First we give a systematic exposition of known results on $R$-operators acting in the tensor product of evaluation representations in Verma modules over quantum $\mathfrak{sl}_2$. We develop the corresponding fusion of $K$-operators, which we use to construct diagonal $K$-operators in these representations. We construct Jackson integral solutions of the associated boundary quantum Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations and explain how in the finite-dimensional case they can be obtained from our previous results by the fusion procedure.

Geometry of the analytic loop group

We introduce and study a notion of analytic loop group with a Riemann-Hilbert factorization relevant for the representation theory of quantum affine algebras at roots of unity with non trivial central charge. We introduce a Poisson structure and study properties of its Poisson dual group. We prove that the Hopf-Poisson structure is isomorphic to the semi-classical limit of the center of the quantum affine algebra (it is a geometric realization of the center). Then the symplectic leaves, and corresponding equivalence classes of central characters, are parameterized by certain G-bundles on an elliptic curve.

Semiclassical quantization of classical field theories

These lectures are an introduction to formal semiclassical quantization of classical field theory. First we develop the Hamiltonian formalism for classical field theories on space time with boundary. It does not have to be a cylinder as in the usual Hamiltonian framework. Then we outline formal semiclassical quantization in the finite dimensional case. Towards the end we give an example of such a quantization in the case of Abelian Chern-Simons theory.

Classical BV theories on manifolds with boundary

In this paper we extend the classical BV framework to gauge theories on spacetime manifolds with boundary. In particular, we connect the BV construction in the bulk with the BFV construction on the boundary and we develop its extension to strata of higher codimension in the case of manifolds with corners. We present several examples including electrodynamics, Yang-Mills theory and topological field theories coming from the AKSZ construction, in particular, the Chern-Simons theory, the $BF$ theory, and the Poisson sigma model. This paper is the first step towards developing the perturbative quantization of such theories on manifolds with boundary in a way consistent with gluing.

Random skew plane partitions with a piecewise periodic back wall

Random skew plane partitions of large size distributed according to an appropriately scaled Schur process develop limit shapes. In the present work we consider the limit of large random skew plane partitions where the inner boundary approaches a piecewise linear curve with non-lattice slopes, describing the limit shape and the local fluctuations in various regions. This analysis is fairly similar to that in [OR2], but we do find some new behavior. For instance, the boundary of the limit shape is now a single smooth (not algebraic) curve, whereas the boundary in [OR2] is singular. We also observe the bead process introduced in [B] appearing in the asymptotics at the top of the limit shape.

Dimers on surface graphs and spin structures. II

In a previous paper, we showed how certain orientations of the edges of a graph G embedded in a closed oriented surface S can be understood as discrete spin structures on S. We then used this correspondence to give a geometric proof of the Pfaffian formula for the partition function of the dimer model on G. In the present article, we generalize these results to the case of compact oriented surfaces with boundary. We also show how the operations of cutting and gluing act on discrete spin structures and how they change the partition function. These operations allow to reformulate the dimer model as a quantum field theory on surface graphs.
