Time and band limiting operator and Bethe ansatz

The time and band limiting operator is introduced to optimize the reconstruction of a signal from only a partial part of its spectrum. In the discrete case, this operator commutes with the so-called algebraic Heun operator which appears in the context of the quantum integrable systems. The construction of both operators and the proof of their commutativity is recalled. A direct connection between their spectra is obtained. Then, the Bethe ansatz, a well-known method to diagonalize integrable quantum Hamiltonians, is used to diagonalize the Heun operator and to obtain insights on the spectrum of the time and band limiting operator.

Integrable dissipative exclusion process: Correlation functions and physical properties

We study a one-parameter generalization of the symmetric simple exclusion process on a one dimensional lattice. In addition to the usual dynamics (where particles can hop with equal rates to the left or to the right with an exclusion constraint), annihilation and creation of pairs can occur. The system is driven out of equilibrium by two reservoirs at the boundaries. In this setting the model is still integrable: it is related to the open XXZ spin chain through a gauge transformation. This allows us to compute the full spectrum of the Markov matrix using Bethe equations. Then, we derive the spectral gap in the thermodynamical limit. We also show that the stationary state can be expressed in a matrix product form permitting to compute the multi-points correlation functions as well as the mean value of the lattice current and of the creation-annihilation current. Finally the variance of the lattice current is exactly computed for a finite size system. In the thermodynamical limit, it matches perfectly the value obtained from the associated macroscopic fluctuation theory. It provides a confirmation of the macroscopic fluctuation theory for dissipative system from a microscopic point of view.

Matrix product solution to a 2-species TASEP with open integrable boundaries

We present an explicit representation for the matrix product ansatz for some two-species TASEP with open boundary conditions. The construction relies on the integrability of the models, a property that constrains the possible rates at the boundaries. The realisation is built on a tensor product of copies of the DEHP algebras. Using this explicit construction, we are able to calculate the partition function of the models. The densities and currents in the stationary state are also computed. It leads to the phase diagram of the models. Depending on the values of the boundary rates, we obtain for each species shock waves, maximal current, or low/high densities phases.

Inhomogeneous discrete-time exclusion processes

We study discrete time Markov processes with periodic or open boundary conditions and with inhomogeneous rates in the bulk. The Markov matrices are given by the inhomogeneous transfer matrices introduced previously to prove the integrability of quantum spin chains. We show that these processes have a simple graphical interpretation and correspond to a sequential update. We compute their stationary state using a matrix ansatz and express their normalization factors as Schur polynomials. A connection between Bethe roots and Lee-Yang zeros is also pointed out.

Open two-species exclusion processes with integrable boundaries

We give a complete classification of integrable Markovian boundary conditions for the asymmetric simple exclusion process with two species (or classes) of particles. Some of these boundary conditions lead to non-vanishing particle currents for each species. We explain how the stationary state of all these models can be expressed in a matrix product form, starting from two key components, the Zamolodchikov-Faddeev and Ghoshal-Zamolodchikov relations. This statement is illustrated by studying in detail a specific example, for which the matrix Ansatz (involving 9 generators) is explicitly constructed and physical observables (such as currents, densities) calculated.

Integrable approach to simple exclusion processes with boundaries. Review and progress

We study the matrix ansatz in the quantum group framework, applying integrable systems techniques to statistical physics models. We start by reviewing the two approaches, and then show how one can use the former to get new insight on the latter. We illustrate our method by solving a model of reaction-diffusion. An eigenvector for the transfer matrix for the XXZ spin chain with non-diagonal boundary is also obtained using a matrix ansatz.

Classification of three-state Hamiltonians solvable by Coordinate Bethe Ansatz

We classify all Hamiltonians with rank 1 symmetry, acting on a periodic three-state spin chain, and solvable through (generalisation of) the coordinate Bethe ansatz (CBA). We obtain in this way four multi-parametric extensions of the known 19-vertex Hamiltonians (such as Zamolodchikov-Fateev, Izergin-Korepin, Bariev Hamiltonians). Apart from the 19-vertex Hamiltonians, there exists 17-vertex and 14-vertex Hamiltonians that cannot be viewed as subcases of the 19-vertex ones. In the case of 17-vertex Hamiltonian, we get a generalization of the genus 5 special branch found by Martins, plus three new ones. We get also two 14-vertex Hamiltonians. We solve all these Hamiltonians using CBA, and provide their spectrum, eigenfunctions and Bethe equations. A special attention is made to provide the specifications of our multi-parametric Hamiltonians that give back known Hamiltonians.

Set-theoretical reflection equation: Classification of reflection maps

The set-theoretical reflection equation and its solutions, the reflection maps, recently introduced by two of the authors, is presented in general and then applied in the context of quadrirational Yang-Baxter maps. We provide a method for constructing reflection maps and we obtain a classification of solutions associated to all the families of quadrirational Yang-Baxter maps that have been classified recently.

Matrix Coordinate Bethe Ansatz: Applications to XXZ and ASEP models

We present the construction of the full set of eigenvectors of the open ASEP and XXZ models with special constraints on the boundaries. The method combines both recent constructions of coordinate Bethe Ansatz and the old method of matrix Ansatz specific to the ASEP. This "matrix coordinate Bethe Ansatz" can be viewed as a non-commutative coordinate Bethe Ansatz, the non-commutative part being related to the algebra appearing in

Sutherland Models for Complex Reflection Groups

There are known to be integrable Sutherland models associated to every real root system -- or, which is almost equivalent, to every real reflection group. Real reflection groups are special cases of complex reflection groups. In this paper we associate certain integrable Sutherland models to the classical family of complex reflection groups. Internal degrees of freedom are introduced, defining dynamical spin chains, and the freezing limit taken to obtain static chains of Haldane-Shastry type. By considering the relation of these models to the usual BC_N case, we are led to systems with both real and complex reflection groups as symmetries. We demonstrate their integrability by means of new Dunkl operators, associated to wreath products of dihedral groups.

The thermal conductivity of alternating spin chains

We study a class of integrable alternating (S1,S2) quantum spin chains with critical ground state properties. Our main result is the description of the thermal Drude weight of the one-dimensional alternating spin chain as a function of temperature. We have identified the thermal current of the model with alternating spins as one of the conserved currents underlying the integrability. This allows for the derivation of a finite set of non-linear integral equations for the thermal conductivity. Numerical solutions to the integral equations are presented for specific cases of the spins S1 and S2. In the low-temperature limit a universal picture evolves where the thermal Drude weight is proportional to temperature T and central charge c.

Exact energy spectrum for models with equally spaced point potentials

We describe a non-perturbative method for computing the energy band structures of one-dimensional models with general point potentials sitting at equally spaced sites. This is done thanks to a Bethe ansatz approach and the method is applicable even when periodicity is broken, that is when Bloch's theorem is not valid any more. We derive the general equation governing the energy spectrum and illustrate its use in various situations. In particular, we get exact results for boundary effects. We also study non-perturbatively the effects of impurities in such systems. Finally, we discuss the possibility of including interactions between the particles of these systems.
