$θ$-dependence of light nuclei and nucleosynthesis

We investigate the impact of the QCD vacuum at nonzero $θ$ on the properties of light nuclei, Big Bang nucleosynthesis, and stellar nucleosynthesis. Our analysis starts with a calculation of the $θ$-dependence of the neutron-proton mass difference and neutron decay using chiral perturbation theory. We then discuss the $θ$-dependence of the nucleon-nucleon interaction using a one-boson-exchange model and compute the properties of the two-nucleon system. Using the universal properties of four-component fermions at large scattering length, we then deduce the binding energies of the three-nucleon and four-nucleon systems. Based on these results, we discuss the implications for primordial abundances of light nuclei, the production of nuclei in stellar environments, and implications for an anthropic view of the universe.

From Gauged Linear Sigma Models to Geometric Representation of $\mathbb{WCP}(N,\tilde{N})$ in 2D

In this paper two issues are addressed. First, we discuss renormalization properties of a class of gauged linear sigma models (GLSM) which reduce to $\mathbb{WCP}(N,\tilde{N})$ non-linear sigma models (NLSM) in the low-energy limit. Sometimes they are referred to as the Hanany-Tong models. If supersymmetry is ${\cal N} =(2,2)$ the ultraviolet-divergent logarithm in LGSM appears, in the renormalization of the Fayet-Iliopoulos parameter, and is exhausted by a single tadpole graph. This is not the case in the daughter NLSMs. As a result, the one-loop renormalizations are different in GLSMs and their daughter NLSMs We explain this difference and identify its source. In particular, we show why at $N=\tilde N$ there is no UV logarithms in the parent GLSM, while they do appear on the corresponding NLSM does not vanish. In the second part of the paper we discuss the same problem for a class of ${\cal N} =(0,2)$ GLSMs considered previously. In this case renormalization is not limited to one loop; all-orders exact $β$ functions for GLSMs are known. We discuss divergent loops at one and two-loop levels.

Interpolating Between $CP(N-1)$ and $S^{2N-1}$ Target Spaces

Some magnetic phenomena in correlated electron systems were recently shown to be described in the continuum limit by a class of sigma models which present a U(1) Hopf fibration over CP(1). In this paper we study a generalization of such models with a target space given by a U(1) fibration over Grassmannian manifolds, of which CP($N-1$) is a special case. The metric of our target space is shown to be left-symmetric which implies that it is fully parametrized by two constants: the first one -- the conventional coupling constant -- is responsible for the overall scale while the second constant $κ$ parametrizes the strength of a deformation. In two dimensions these sigma models are perturbatively renormalizable. We calculate their $β$ functions to two loops and find the RG flow of the coupling constants. We calculate the two-point function in the UV limit, which has a power law dependence with an exponent dependent on the RG trajectory.

New Soft Theorems for Goldstone Boson Amplitudes

In this letter we discuss new soft theorems for the Goldstone boson amplitudes with non-vanishing soft limits. The standard argument is that the non-linearly realized shift symmetry leads to the vanishing of scattering amplitudes in the soft limit, known as the Alder zero. This statement involves certain assumptions of the absence of cubic vertices and the absence of linear terms in the transformations of fields. For theories which fail to satisfy these conditions, we derive a new soft theorem which involves certain linear combinations of lower point amplitudes, generalizing the Adler zero statement. We provide an explicit example of $SU(N)/SU(N-1)$ sigma model which was also recently studied in the context of $U(1)$ fibrated models. The soft theorem can be then used as an input into the modified soft recursion relations for the reconstruction of all tree-level amplitudes.

A Visible QCD Axion from an Enlarged Color Group

We consider the possibility of an enlarged QCD color group, SU(3+$N^\prime$) spontaneously broken to SU(3)$_c\times$SU($N^\prime$) with extra vector-like quarks transforming in the fundamental representation. When the heavy quarks are integrated out below the PQ-breaking scale, they generate an axion coupling which simultaneously solves the strong CP problem for both gauge groups. However, the axion mass now receives a new nonperturbative contribution from the SU($N^\prime$) confinement scale, which can be substantially larger than the QCD scale. This can increase the axion mass to be at or above the electroweak scale. This visible axion can then decay into gluons and photons giving rise to observable signals at Run-II of the LHC. In particular, if the mass is identified with the 750 GeV diphoton resonance then the new confinement scale is $\sim$ TeV and the PQ-breaking scale is $\sim$ 10 TeV. This predicts vector-like quarks and a PQ scalar resonance in the multi-TeV range, with the possibility that dark matter is an SU($N^\prime$) baryon.

Non-Abelian Vortex in Four Dimensions as a Critical String on a Conifold

Non-Abelian vortex strings supported in a certain four-dimensional N=2 Yang-Mills theory with fundamental matter were shown arXiv:1502.00683 to become critical superstrings. In addition to translational moduli non-Abelian string under consideration carries orientational and size moduli. Their dynamics is described by two-dimensional sigma model whose target space is a tautological bundle over the complex projective space. For the N=2 theory with the $U(2)$ gauge group and four fundamental hypermultiplets there are six orientational and size moduli. After combining with four translational moduli they form a ten-dimensional target space required for a superstring to be critical. For the theory in question the target space of the sigma model is C^2 x Y_6, where Y_6 is a conifold. We study closed string states which emerge in four dimensions (4D) and identify them with hadrons of the 4D bulk N=2 theory. It turns out that most of the states arising from the ten-dimensional graviton spectrum are non-dynamical in 4D. We find a single dynamical massless hypermultiplet associated with the deformation of the complex structure of the conifold. We interpret this degree of freedom as a monopole-monopole baryon of the 4D theory (at strong coupling).

Anomalies of Minimal N=(0, 1) and N=(0, 2) Sigma Models on Homogeneous Spaces

We study chiral anomalies in $\mathcal N=(0, 1)$ and $(0, 2)$ two-dimensional minimal sigma models defined on generic homogeneous spaces $G/H$. Such minimal theories contain only (left) chiral fermions and in certain cases are inconsistent because of "incurable" anomalies. We explicitly calculate the anomalous fermionic effective action and show how to remedy it by adding a series of local counter-terms. In this procedure, we derive a local anomaly matching condition, which is demonstrated to be equivalent to the well-known global topological constraint on $p_1(G/H)$. More importantly, we show that these local counter-terms further modify and constrain "curable" chiral models, some of which, for example, flow to nontrivial infrared superconformal fixed point. Finally, we also observe an interesting relation between $\mathcal N=(0, 1)$ and $(0, 2)$ two-dimensional minimal sigma models and supersymmetric gauge theories. This paper generalizes and extends the results of our previous publication arXiv:1510.04324.

Confining Strings in Supersymmetric Theories with Higgs Branches

We study flux tubes (strings) on the Higgs branches in supersymmetric gauge theories. In generic vacua on the Higgs branches strings were shown to develop long-range "tails" associated with massless fields, a characteristic feature of the Higgs branch (the only exception is the vacuum at the base of the Higgs branch). A natural infrared regularization for the above tails is provided by a finite string length L. We perform a numerical study of these strings in generic vacua. We focus on the simplest example of strings in N=1 supersymmetric QED with the Fayet-Iliopoulos term. In particular, we examine the accuracy of a logarithmic approximation (proposed earlier by Evlampiev and Yung) for the tension of such string solutions. In the Evlampiev-Yung formula the dependence of tension on the string length is logarithmic and the dependence on the geodesic length from the base of the Higgs branch is quadratic. We observe a remarkable agreement of our numerical results for the string tension with the Evlampiev-Yung analytic expression.

Impact of Axions on Confinement in Three and Two Dimensions

In this paper we discuss well-known three- and two-dimensional models with confinement, namely, the Polyakov compact electrodynamics in 3D and two-dimensional CP(N-1) sigma model, and reveal changes in the confining regimes of these model upon adding the axion field. In both cases the addition of axion has a drastic impact. In the CP(N-1) model the axion-induced deconfinement was known previously, but we discuss a new feature not considered in the previous publication.

Making supersymmetric connected N =(0,2) Sigma Models

We construct "connected" (0,2) sigma models starting from n copies of (2,2) CP(N-1) models. General aspects of models of this type (known as T+O deformations) had been previously studied in the context of heterotic string theories. Our construction presents a natural generalization of the nonminimally deformed (2,2) model with an extra (0,2) fermion superfield on tangent bundle T CP(N-1) x C^1. We had thoroughly analyzed the latter model previously, found the exact beta function and a spontaneous breaking of supersymmetry. In contrast, in certain connected sigma models the spontaneous breaking of supersymmetry disappears. We study the connected sigma models in the large-N limit finding supersymmetric vacua and determining the particle spectrum. While the Witten index vanishes in all the models under consideration, in these special cases of connected models one can use a permutation symmetry to define a modification of the Witten index which does not vanish. This eliminates the spontaneous breaking of supersymmetry. We then examine the exact beta functions of our connected (0,2) sigma models.

More on Two-Dimensional $O(N)$ Models with $\mathcal{N} = (0,1)$ Supersymmetry

We study the behavior of two dimensional supersymmetric connections of $n$ copies of $O(N)$ models with an $\mathcal{N} = (0,1)$ heterotic deformation generated by a right moving fermion. We develop the model in analogy with the connected $\mathcal{N}=(0,2)$ $CP(N-1)$ models for the case of a single connecting fermionic superfield. We calculate the effective potential in the large $N$ limit and determine the vacuum field configurations. Similarily to other SUSY connected models we find that SUSY is unbroken under certain conditions despite the vanishing of the Witten index. Specifically, this preservation of SUSY occurs when we have an even number $n$ of $O(N)$ families. As in previous cases we show that this result follows from a $Z_n$ symmetry under a particular exchange of the $O(N)$ families. This leads to a definition of a modified Witten index, which gaurantees the preservation of SUSY in this case.

Non-Abelian Moduli on Domain Walls

We study a simple model supporting domain walls which possess two orientational moduli in addition to the conventional translational modulus. This model is conceptually close to Witten's cosmic strings. We observe an $O(3)$ sigma model on the wall world volume in the low-energy limit. We solve (numerically) classical static equations of motion and find the wall profile functions and the value of the coupling of the $O(3)$ model in terms of the bulk parameters. In the second part a term describing a spin-orbit interaction in the bulk is added, which gives rise to an entanglement between rotational and translational moduli. The corresponding extra term in the low-energy Lagrangian is calculated.

Non-Abelian String of a Finite Length

We consider world-sheet theories for non-Abelian strings assuming compactification on a cylinder with a finite circumference $L$ and periodic boundary conditions. The dynamics of the orientational modes is described by two-dimensional CP$(N-1)$ model. We analyze both non-supersymmetric (bosonic) model and ${\mathcal N}=(2,2)$ supersymmetric CP$(N-1)$ emerging in the case of 1/2-BPS saturated strings in \ntwo supersymmetric QCD with $N_f=N$. The non-supersymmetric case was studied previously; technically our results agree with those obtained previously, although our interpretation is totally different. In the large-$N$ limit we detect a phase transition at $L\sim Λ_{\rm CP}^{-1}$ (which is expected to become a rapid crossover at finite $N$). If at large $L$ the CP$(N-1)$ model develops a mass gap and is in the Coulomb/confinement phase, with exponentially suppressed finite-$L$ effects, at small $L$ it is in the deconfinement phase, and the orientational modes contribute to the Lüsher term. The latter becomes dependent on the rank of the bulk gauge group. In the supersymmetric CP$(N-1)$ models at finite $L$ we find a large-$N$ solution which was not known previously. We observe a single phase independently of the value of $LΛ_{\rm CP}$. For any value of this parameter a mass gap develops and supersymmetry remains unbroken. So does the $SU(N)$ symmetry of the target space. The mass gap turns out to be independent of the string length. The Lüscher term is absent due to supersymmetry.

On Isometry Anomalies in Minimal N=(0,1) and N=(0,2) Sigma Models

The two-dimensional minimal supersymmetric sigma models with homogeneous target spaces $G/H$ and chiral fermions of the same chirality are revisited. We demonstrate that the Moore-Nelson consistency condition revealing a global anomaly in CP(N-1) (with N>2 and ${\mathcal N}=(0,2)$ supersymmetry) due to a nontrivial first Pontryagin class is in one-to-one correspondence with the local anomalies of isometries in these models. These latter anomalies are generated by fermion loop diagrams which we explicitly calculate. In the case of O}(N) sigma models the first Pontryagin class vanishes, so there is no global obstruction for the minimal ${\mathcal N}=(0,1)$ supersymmetrization of these models. We show that at the local level isometries in these models are anomaly free. Thus, there are no obstructions to quantizing the minimal ${\mathcal N}=(0,1)$ models with the $S^{N-1}= SO(N)/SO(N-1)$ target space. This also includes CP(1) (equivalent to $S^{2}$) which is an exceptional case from the CP(N-1) series. We also discuss a relation between the geometric and gauged formulations of the CP}(N-1) models.

Spin vortices in the Abelian-Higgs model with cholesteric vacuum structure

We continue the study of $U(1)$ vortices with cholesteric vacuum structure. A new class of solutions is found which represent global vortices of the internal spin field. These spin vortices are characterized by a non-vanishing angular dependence at spatial infinity, or winding. We show that despite the topological $\mathbb{Z}_2$ behavior of $SO(3)$ windings, the topological charge of the spin vortices is of the $\mathbb{Z}$ type in the cholesteric. We find these solutions numerically and discuss the properties derived from their low energy effective field theory in $1+1$ dimensions.

Gapless excitations of axially symmetric vortices in systems with tensorial order parameter

We extend the results of previous work on the vortex order parameter in systems similar to the Ginzburg-Landau description of superfluid $^3$He in the bulk B phase. Specifically, we consider vortices preserving an axial $U(1)$ symmetry. We determine the conditions required by the $β_i$ parameters to allow for an energetically favorable development of the off-diagonal antisymmetric and symmetric-traceless elements satisfying the axial symmetry from the trace-only ansatz of the order parameter. The number and type of gapless moduli appearing on the classical low energy theory of axial vortices is determined. The time-dependent part of the Ginzburg-Landau free energy is then considered to determine the number of quantized modes emerging from the gapless moduli fields.

Low energy dynamics of $U(1)$ vortices in systems with cholesteric vacuum structure

We discuss flux tubes in systems with $U(1)$ gauge, and spin-orbit locked $SO(3)_{S+L}$ symmetry. The spin-orbit locking is achieved explicitly in the Lagrangian by introducing a parity violating twist term which causes the spontaneous breaking of $SO(3)_{S+L} \rightarrow SO(2)$. Additionally, this term causes a spontaneous breaking of the translational symmetry along a particular direction. Thus, the system appears with a cholesteric vacuum under certain conditions of the parameter space. With this term, the system admits $U(1)$ topologically stable vortices with additional structure in the vortex cores. This added structure leads to additional moduli appearing in the low energy dynamics. We determine these solutions and their low energy theory.

N=(0, 2) Deformation of (2, 2) Sigma Models: Geometric Structure, Holomorphic Anomaly and Exact Beta Functions

We study N=(0,2) deformed (2,2) two-dimensional sigma models. Such heterotic models were discovered previously on the world sheet of non-Abelian strings supported by certain four-dimensional N=1 theories. We study geometric aspects and holomorphic properties of these models, and derive a number of exact expressions for the beta functions in terms of the anomalous dimensions analogous to the NSVZ beta function in four-dimensional Yang-Mills. Instanton calculus provides a straightforward method for the derivation. The anomalous dimensions are calculated up to two loops implying that one of the beta functions is explicitly known up to three loops. The fixed point in the ratio of the couplings found previously at one loop is not shifted at two loops. We also consider the N=(0,2) supercurrent supermultiplet (the so-called hypercurrent) and its anomalies, as well as the "Konishi anomaly." This gives us another method for finding exact $β$ functions. We prove that despite the chiral nature of the models under consideration quantum loops preserve isometries of the target space.

Heterotic N=(0,2) CP(N-1) Model with Twisted Masses

We present a two-dimensional heterotic N=(0,2) CP(N-1) model with twisted masses. It is supposed to describe internal dynamics of non-Abelian strings in massive N=2 SQCD with N=1-preserving deformations. We present gauge and geometric formulations of the world-sheet theory and check its N=(0,2) supersymmetry. It turns out that the set of twisted masses in the heterotic model has N complex mass parameters, rather than N-1. In the general case, when all mass parameters are nonvanishing, N=(0,2) supersymmetry is spontaneously broken already at the classical level. If at least one of the above mass parameters vanishes, then N=(0,2) is unbroken at the classical level. The spontaneous breaking of supersymmetry in this case occurs through nonperturbative effects.

Low energy dynamics of gapless and quasi-gapless modes of vortices in superfluid $^3$He-B

We discuss the low energy effective dynamics of gapless excitations of the mass vortices of systems similar to the Ginzburg-Landau description of superfluid helium-3 in the bulk B phase. Our approach is to determine the vortex solution by considering a specific ansatz for the order parameter and minimizing the free energy. The conditions on the $β_i$ coefficients required for the stability of the various solutions for the order parameter are calculated. By considering the symmetries that are broken by the vortex solutions we are able to generate the moduli fields associated with the low energy excitations of the vortices. Using these fields we determine the effective free energy describing the dynamics of these excitations.

Non-Abelian Quasi-Gapless Modes Localized on Mass Vortices in Superfluid 3He-B

Kelvin waves or Kelvons have been known for a long time as gapless excitations propagating along superfluid vortices. These modes can be interpreted as the Nambu-Goldstone excitations arising from the spontaneous breaking of the translational symmetry. Recently a different type of gapless excitation localized on strings -- the so-called non-Abelian mode -- attracted much attention in high-energy physics. We discuss their relevance in condensed matter physics. Although we failed to find exactly gapless non-Abelian modes, non-Abelian rotational quasigapless excitations are argued to exist on the mass vortices in the B phase of the superfluid 3He, due to the fact that the order parameter in 3He-B is tensorial. While the U(1) rotational excitations are well established in vortices with asymmetric cores, the non-Abelian rotational excitations belonging to the same family were not considered. In the general case they are coupled with the translational modes.

Twisted-Mass Potential on the Non-Abelian String World Sheet Induced by Bulk Masses

We derive the twisted-mass potential in N=(2,2) CP(N-1) theory on the world sheet of the non-Abelian string from the bulk N=2 theory with massive (s)quarks by determining the profile functions of the adjoint fields. Although this potential was indirectly found some time ago, this is the first direct derivation from the bulk. As an application of the adjoint field profiles, we compute and confirm the $ | μσ| $ potential (where $ σ$ is a scalar field in the gauge supermultiplet) which arises in the effective two-dimensional theory on the string due to the supersymmetry breaking bulk mass term $ μA^2 $ for the adjoint matter.

2D-4D Correspondence: Towers of Kinks versus Towers of Monopoles in N=2 Theories

We continue to study the BPS spectrum of the N=(2,2) CP(N-1) model with the Z_N-symmetric twisted mass terms. We focus on analysis of the "extra" towers found previously in [1], and compare them to the states that can be identified in the quasiclassical domain. Exact analysis of the strong-coupling states shows that not all of them survive when passing to the weak-coupling domain. Some of the states decay on the curves of the marginal stability (CMS). Thus, not all strong-coupling states can be analytically continued to weak coupling to match the observable bound states. At weak coupling, we confirm the existence of bound states of topologically-charged kinks and elementary quanta. Quantization of the U(1) kink modulus leads to formation of towers of such states. For the Z_N-symmetric twisted masses their number is by far less than N-1 as was conjectured previously. We investigate the quasiclassical limit and show that out of N possible towers only two survive in the spectrum for odd N, and a single tower for even N. In the case of CP^2 theory the related CMS are discussed in detail. In these points we overlap and completely agree with the results of Dorey and Petunin. We also comment on 2D-4D correspondence.

BPS Spectrum of Supersymmetric CP(N-1) Theory with Z_N Twisted Masses

We revisit the BPS spectrum of the supersymmetric CP(N-1) two-dimensional model with Z_N-symmetric twisted masses m_l (l=0,1, ..., N-1). A related issue we address is that of the curves of marginal stability (CMS) in this theory. Previous analyses were incomplete. We close the gap by exploiting a number of consistency conditions. In particular, we amend the Dorey formula for the BPS spectrum. Our analysis is based on the exact Veneziano--Yankielowicz-type superpotential and on the strong-coupling spectrum of the theory found from the mirror representation at small masses, |m_l| << Λ. We show that at weak coupling the spectrum, with necessity, must include N-1 BPS towers of states, instead of just one, as was thought before. Only one of the towers is seen in the quasiclassical limit. We find the corresponding CMS for these towers, and argue that in the large-N limit they become circles, filling out a band on the plane of a single mass parameter of the model at hand. Inside the CMS, N-1 towers collapse into N stable states.

Quantum Dynamics of Low-Energy Theory on Semilocal Non-Abelian Strings

Recently a low-energy effective theory on non-Abelian semilocal vortices in SQCD with the U(N) gauge group and N + \tilde{N} quark flavors was obtained in field theory arXiv:1104.2077. The result is exact in a certain limit of large infrared cut-off. The resulting model was called the zn model. We study quantum dynamics of the zn model in some detail. First we solve it at large N in the leading order. Then we compare our results with those of Hanany and Tong hep-th/0403158 (the HT model) who based their derivation on a certain type-IIA formalism, rather than on a field-theory construction. In the 't Hooft limit of infinite N both model's predictions are identical. At finite N our calculations agree with the Hanany-Tong results only in the BPS sector. Beyond the BPS sector there is no agreement between the zn and HT models. Finally, we study perturbation theory of the zn model from various standpoints.

QCD-like Theories on R_3\times S_1: a Smooth Journey from Small to Large r(S_1) with Double-Trace Deformations

We consider QCD-like theories with one massless fermion in various representations of the gauge group SU$(N)$. The theories are formulated on $R_3\times S_1$. In the decompactification limit of large $r(S_1)$ all these theories are characterized by confinement, mass gap and spontaneous breaking of a (discrete) chiral symmetry ($χ$SB). At small $r(S_1)$, in order to stabilize the vacua of these theories at a center-symmetric point, we suggest to perform a double trace deformation. With these deformation, the theories at hand are at weak coupling at small $r(S_1)$ and yet exhibit basic features of the large-$r(S_1)$ limit: confinement and $χ$SB. We calculate the string tension, mass gap, bifermion condensates and $θ$ dependence. The double-trace deformation becomes dynamically irrelevant at large $r(S_1)$. Despite the fact that at small $r(S_1)$ confinement is Abelian, while it is expected to be non-Abelian at large $r(S_1)$, we argue that small and large-$r(S_1)$ physics are continuously connected. If so, one can use small-$r(S_1)$ laboratory to extract lessons about QCD and QCD-like theories on $R_4$.

Marginal Stability and the Metamorphosis of BPS States

We discuss the restructuring of the BPS spectrum which occurs on certain submanifolds of the moduli/parameter space -- the curves of the marginal stability (CMS) -- using quasiclassical methods. We argue that in general a `composite' BPS soliton swells in coordinate space as one approaches the CMS and that, as a bound state of two `primary' solitons, its dynamics in this region is determined by non-relativistic supersymmetric quantum mechanics. Near the CMS the bound state has a wave function which is highly spread out. Precisely on the CMS the bound state level reaches the continuum, the composite state delocalizes in coordinate space, and restructuring of the spectrum can occur. We present a detailed analysis of this behavior in a two-dimensional N=2 Wess-Zumino model with two chiral fields, and then discuss how it arises in the context of `composite' dyons near weak coupling CMS curves in N=2 supersymmetric gauge theories. We also consider cases where some states become massless on the CMS.

More on Supersymmetric Domain Walls, N Counting and Glued Potentials

Various features of domain walls in supersymmetric gluodynamics are discussed. We give a simple field-theoretic interpretation of the phenomenon of strings ending on the walls recently conjectured by Witten. An explanation of this phenomenon in the framework of gauge field theory is outlined. The phenomenon is argued to be particularly natural in supersymmetric theories which support degenerate vacuum states with distinct physical properties. The issue of existence (or non-existence) of the BPS saturated walls in the theories with glued (super)potentials is addressed. The amended Veneziano-Yankielowicz effective Lagrangian belongs to this class. The physical origin of the cusp structure of the effective Lagrangian is revealed, and the limitation it imposes on the calculability of the wall tension is explained. Related problems are considered. In particular, it is shown that the so called discrete anomaly matching, when properly implemented, does not rule out the chirally symmetric phase of supersymmetric gluodynamics, contrary to recent claims.

Matching Conditions and Duality in N=1 SUSY Gauge Theories in the Conformal Window

We discuss duality in $N=1$ SUSY gauge theories in Seiberg's conformal window, $(3N_c/2)<N_f<3N_c$. The 't Hooft consistency conditions -- the basic tool for establishing the infrared duality -- are considered taking into account higher order $α$ corrections. The conserved (anomaly free) $R$ current is built to all orders in $α$. Although this current contains all orders in $α$ the 't Hooft consistency conditions for this current are shown to be one-loop. This observation thus justifies Seiberg's matching procedure. We also briefly discuss the inequivalence of the ``electric" and ``magnetic" theories at short distances.
