Concentration of curvature and Lipschitz invariants of holomorphic functions of two variables

By combining analytic and geometric viewpoints on the concentration of the curvature of the Milnor fibre, we prove that Lipschitz homeomorphisms preserve the zones of multi-scale curvature concentration as well as the gradient canyon structure of holomorphic functions of two variables. This yields the first new Lipschitz invariants after those discovered by Henry and Parusinski in 2003.

Monodromies at infinity of non-tame polynomials

We consider the monodromy at infinity and the monodromies around the bifurcation points of polynomial functions $f : \CC^n \longrightarrow \CC$ which are not tame and might have non-isolated singularities. Our description of their Jordan blocks in terms of the Newton polyhedra and the motivic Milnor fibers relies on two new issues: the non-atypical eigenvalues of the monodromies and the corresponding concentration results for their generalized eigenspaces.

Index formula for MacPherson cycles of affine algebraic varieties

We give explicit MacPherson cycles for the Chern-MacPherson class of a closed affine algebraic variety XX and for any constructible function αα with respect to a complex algebraic Whitney stratification of XX. We define generalized degrees of the global polar varieties and of the MacPherson cycles and we prove a global index formula for the Euler characteristic of αα. Whenever αα is the Euler obstruction of XX, this index formula specializes to the Seade-Tibar-Verjovsky global counterpart of the Le-Teissier formula for the local Euler obstruction.

The vanishing neighbourhood of non-isolated singularities

We study the vanishing neighbourhood of non-isolated singularities of functions on singular spaces by associating a general linear function. We use the carrousel monodromy in order to show how to get a better control over the attaching of thimbles. For one dimensional singularities, we prove obstructions to integer (co)homology groups and to the eigenspaces of the monodromy via monodromies of nearby sections. Our standpoint allows to find, in certain cases, the structure of the Milnor fibre up to the homotopy type.
