A complex analytic approach to orbifold Chern classes on singular varieties and its applications

In this article, we prove the orbifold version of the Bogomolov-Gieseker inequality for stable $\mathbb Q$-sheaves on Kähler varieties, generalizing our earlier work \cite{GP25} in dimension three. We also provide a characterization of the equality case, a new purely analytical proof of the numerical characterization of complex torus quotients as well as a novel, complex analytic interpretation of the second orbifold Chern class associated to a $\mathbb Q$-sheaf.

Curvature formula for direct images of twisted relative canonical bundles endowed with a singular metric

In this note, we obtain various formulas for the curvature of the $L^2$ metric on the direct image of the relative canonical bundle twisted by a holomorphic line bundle endowed with a positively curved metric with analytic singularities, generalizing some of Berndtsson's seminal results in the smooth case. When the twist is assumed to be relatively big, we further provide a very explicit lower bound for the curvature of the $L^2$ metric.

A decomposition theorem for $\mathbb Q$-Fano Kähler-Einstein varieties

Let $X$ be a $\mathbb Q$-Fano variety admitting a Kähler-Einstein metric. We prove that up to a finite quasi-étale cover, $X$ splits isometrically as a product of Kähler-Einstein $\mathbb Q$-Fano varieties whose tangent sheaf is stable with respect to the anticanonical polarization. This relies among other things on a very general splitting theorem for algebraically integrable foliations. We also prove that the canonical extension of $T_X$ by $\mathscr O_X$ is semistable with respect to the anticanonical polarization.

Variation of singular Kähler-Einstein metrics: Kodaira dimension zero

We study several questions involving relative Ricci-flat Kähler metrics for families of log Calabi-Yau manifolds. Our main result states that if $p:(X,B)\to Y$ is a Kähler fiber space such that $\displaystyle (X_y, B|_{X_y})$ is generically klt, $K_{X/Y}+B$ is relatively trivial and $p_*(m(K_{X/Y}+B))$ is Hermitian flat for some suitable integer $m$, then $p$ is locally trivial. Motivated by questions in birational geometry, we investigate the regularity of the relative singular Ricci-flat Kähler metric corresponding to a family $p:(X,B)\to Y$ of klt pairs $(X_y,B_y)$ such that $κ(K_{X_y}+B_y)=0$. Finally, we disprove a folkore conjecture by exhibiting a one-dimensional family of elliptic curves whose relative (Ricci-) flat metric is not semipositive.

Conic singularities metrics with prescribed Ricci curvature: the case of general cone angles along normal crossing divisors

Let $X$ be a non-singular compact Kähler manifold, endowed with an effective divisor $D= \sum (1-β_k) Y_k$ having simple normal crossing support, and satisfying $β_k \in (0,1)$. The natural objects one has to consider in order to explore the differential-geometric properties of the pair $(X, D)$ are the so-called metrics with conic singularities. In this article, we complete our earlier work \cite{CGP} concerning the Monge-Ampère equations on $(X, D)$ by establishing Laplacian and ${\mathscr C}^{2,α, β}$ estimates for the solution of this equations regardless to the size of the coefficients $0<β_k< 1$. In particular, we obtain a general theorem concerning the existence and regularity of Kähler-Einstein metrics with conic singularities along a normal crossing divisor.

Orbifold generic semi-positivity: an application to families of canonically polarized manifolds

In this article we establish a version of Y. Miyaoka generic semi-positivity theorem in the context of log-canonical orbifold pairs. As an application, we show that the canonical bundle associated to a lc pair is big as soon as there exists a generically injective morphism from an ample line bundle to some symmetric power of the cotangent bundle associated to the orbifold pair.

Positivity of twisted relative pluricanonical bundles and their direct images

Our main goal in this article is to establish a quantitative version of the positivity properties of twisted relative pluricanonical bundles and their direct images. The notion of "singular Hermitian metric" on vector bundles (together with an appropriate definition of positivity of the associated curvature) plays a major role here, and its properties are studied via a version of Ohsawa-Takegoshi extension theorem. Part of this article is based on the joint work of the first named author with Bo Berndtsson, and it can be seen as an expanded and updated version of it.

Metrics with cone singularities along normal crossing divisors and holomorphic tensor fields

We prove the existence of non-positively curved Kähler-Einstein metrics with cone singularities along a given simple normal crossing divisor on a compact Kähler manifold, under a technical condition on the cone angles, and we also discuss the case of positively-curved Kähler-Einstein metrics with cone singularities. As an application we extend to this setting classical results of Lichnerowicz and Kobayashi on the parallelism and vanishing of appropriate holomorphic tensor fields.

Bergman kernels and subadjunction

In this article our main result is a more complete version of the statements obtained in {\rm [6]}. One of the important technical point of our proof is an $\displaystyle L^{2\over m}$ extension theorem of Ohsawa-Takegoshi type, which is derived from the original result by a simple fixed point method. Moreover, we show that these techniques combined with an appropriate form of the"invariance of plurigenera" can be used in order to obtain a new proof of the celebrated Y. Kawamata subadjunction theorem.
