Symplectic geometry of Cartan-Hartogs domains

This paper studies the geometry of Cartan-Hartogs domains from the symplectic point of view. Inspired by duality between compact and noncompact Hermitian symmetric spaces, we construct a dual counterpart of Cartan-Hartogs domains and give explicit expression of global Darboux coordinates for both Cartan-Hartogs and their dual. Further, we compute their symplectic capacity and show that a Cartan-Hartogs admits a symplectic duality if and only if it reduces to be a complex hyperbolic space.

Stability with respect to actions of real reductive Lie groups

We give a systematic treatment of the stability theory for action of a real reductive Lie group G on a topological space. More precisely, we introduce an abstract setting for actions of non-compact real reductive Lie groups on topological spaces that admit functions similar to the Kempf-Ness function. The point of this construction is that one can characterize stability, semi-stability and polystability of a point by numerical criteria, that is in terms of a function called maximal weight. We apply this setting to the actions of a real non-compact reductive Lie group G on a real compact submanifold M of a Kaehler manifold Z and to the action of G on measures of M.

Strongly not relatives Kaehler manifolds

In this paper we study Kaehler manifolds that are strongly not relative to any projective Kaehler manifold, i.e. those Kaehler manifolds that do not share a Kaehler submanifold with any projective Kaehler manifold even when their metric is rescaled by the multiplication by a positive constant. We prove two results which highlight some relations between this property and the existence of a full Kaehler immersion into the infinite dimensional complex projective space. As application we get that the 1-parameter families of Bergman-Hartogs and Fock-Bargmann-Hartogs domains are strongly not relative to projective Kaehler manifolds.

On the J-flow in Sasakian manifolds

We study the space of Sasaki metrics on a compact manifold $M$ by introducing an odd-dimensional analogue of the $J$-flow. That leads to the notion of critical metric in the Sasakian context. In analogy to the Kähler case, on a polarised Sasakian manifold there exists at most one normalised critical metric. The flow is a tool for texting the existence of such a metric. We show that some results proved by Chen in [7] can be generalised to the Sasakian case. In particular, the Sasaki $J$-flow is a gradient flow which has always a long-time solution minimising the distance on the space of Sasakian potentials of a polarized Sasakian manifold. The flow minimises an energy functional whose definition depends on the choice of a background transverse Kähler form $χ$. When $χ$ has nonnegative transverse holomorphic bisectional curvature, the flow converges to a critical Sasakian structure.

On the Szegö kernel of Cartan-Hartogs domains

Inspired by the work of Z. Lu and G. Tian [21] in the compact setting, in this paper we address the problem of studying the Szegö kernel of the disk bundle over a noncompact Kähler manifold. In particular we compute the Szegö kernel of the disk bundle over a Cartan-Hartogs domain based on a bounded symmetric domain. The main ingredients in our analysis are the fact that every Cartan-Hartogs domain can be viewed as an "iterated" disk bundle over its base and the the ideas given in [4] for the computation of the Szegö kernel of the disk bundle over an Herimitian symmetric space of compact type.

Global symplectic coordinates on gradient Kaehler-Ricci solitons

A classical result of D. McDuff asserts that a simply-connected complete Kaehler manifold $(M,g,ω)$ with non positive sectional curvature admits global symplectic coordinates through a symplectomorphism $Ψ: M\rightarrow R^{2n}$ (where $n$ is the complex dimension of $M$), satisfying the following property (proved by E. Ciriza): the image $Ψ(T)$ of any complex totally geodesic submanifold $T\subset M$ through the point $p$ such that $Ψ(p)=0$, is a complex linear subspace of $C^n \simeq R^{2n}$. The aim of this paper is to exhibit, for all positive integers $n$, examples of $n$-dimensional complete Kaehler manifolds with non-negative sectional curvature globally symplectomorphic to $R^{2n}$ through a symplectomorphism satisfying Ciriza's property.

Canonical metrics on Cartan--Hartogs domains

In this paper we address two problems concerning a family of domains $M_Ω(μ) \subset \C^n$, called Cartan-Hartogs domains, endowed with a natural Kaehler metric $g(μ)$. The first one is determining when the metric $g(μ)$ is extremal (in the sense of Calabi), while the second one studies when the coefficient $a_2$ in the Engliš expansion of Rawnsley $ε$-function associated to $g(μ)$ is constant.

Some remarks on the Kaehler geometry of LeBrun's Ricci flat metrics on C^2

In this paper we investigate the balanced condition (in the sense of Donaldson) and the existence of an Englis expansion for the LeBrun's metrics on $C^2$. Our first result shows that a LeBrun's metric on $C^2$ is never balanced unless it is the flat metric. The second one shows that an Englis expansion of the Rawnsley's function associated to a LeBrun's metric always exists, while the coefficient $a_3$ of the expansion vanishes if and only if the LeBrun's metric is indeed the flat one.

Balanced metrics on Cartan and Cartan-Hartogs domains

This paper consists of two results dealing with balanced metrics (in S. Donaldson terminology) on nonconpact complex manifolds. In the first one we describe all balanced metrics on Cartan domains. In the second one we show that the only Cartan-Hartogs domain which admits a balanced metric is the complex hyperbolic space. By combining these results with those obtained in [13] (Kaehler-Einstein submanifolds of the infinite dimensional projective space, to appear in Mathematische Annalen) we also provide the first example of complete, Kaehler-Einstein and projectively induced metric g such that $αg$ is not balanced for all $α>0$.

Kaehler-Einstein submanifolds of the infinite dimensional projective space

This paper consists of two main results. In the first one we describe all Kaehler immersions of a bounded symmetric domain into the infinite dimensional complex projective space in terms of the Wallach set of the domain. In the second one we exhibit an example of complete and non-homogeneous Kaehler-Einstein metric with negative scalar curvature which admits a Kaehler immersion into the infinite dimensional complex projective space.
