A quasi-coherent description of the category D-mod(Gr$_{GL(n)}$)

In arXiv:1807.09038 we formulated a conjecture describing the derived category D-mod(Gr$_{GL(n)}$) of (all) D-modules on the affine Grassmannian of the group $GL(n)$ as the category of quasi-coherent sheaves on a certain stack (it is explained in loc. cit. that this conjecture "follows" naturally from some heuristic arguments involving 3-dimensional quantum field theory). In this paper we prove a weaker version of this conjecture for the case $n=2$.

Fourier transform on hyperplane arrangements

We consider the category of perverse sheaves on a complex vector space smooth with respect to a stratification given by an arrangement of hyperplanes with real equations. As shown in an earlier wotk of two of the authors, this category can be described in terms of certain diagrams of vector spaces labelled by all the faces of the real arrangement (we call such diagrams hyperbolic sheaves). In this paper we calculate, in these terms, several fundamental operations of sheaf theory such as forming the space of vanishing cycles, specialization and the Fourier-Sato transform.

Coulomb branch of a multiloop quiver gauge theory

We compute the Coulomb branch of a multiloop quiver gauge theory for the quiver with a single vertex, $r$ loops, one-dimensional framing, and $\dim V=2$. We identify it with a Slodowy slice in the nilpotent cone of the symplectic Lie algebra of rank $r$. Hence it possesses a symplectic resolution with $2r$ fixed points with respect to a Hamiltonian torus action. We also idenfity its flavor deformation with a base change of the full Slodowy slice.

A note on the symplectic structure on the space of G-monopoles

Let $G$ be a semisimple complex Lie group with a Borel subgroup $B$. Let $X=G/B$ be the flag manifold of $G$. Let $C=P^1\ni\infty$ be the projective line. Let $α\in H_2(X,{\Bbb Z})$. The moduli space of $G$-monopoles of topological charge $α$ (see e.g. [Jarvis]) is naturally identified with the space $M_b(X,α)$ of based maps from $(C,\infty)$ to $(X,B)$ of degree $α$. The moduli space of $G$-monopoles carries a natural hyperkähler structure, and hence a holomorphic symplectic structure. We propose a simple explicit formula for the symplectic structure on $M_b(X,α)$. It generalizes the well known formula for $G=SL_2$ (see e.g. [Atiyah-Hitchin]). Let $P\supset B$ be a parabolic subgroup. The construction of the Poisson structure on $M_b(X,α)$ generalizes verbatim to the space of based maps $M=M_b(G/P,β)$. In most cases the corresponding map $T^*M\to TM$ is not an isomorphism, i.e. $M$ splits into nontrivial symplectic leaves. These leaves are explicilty described.

Gaiotto-Witten superpotential and Whittaker D-modules on monopoles

Let $G$ be an almost simple simply connected group over complex numbers. For a positive element $α$ of the coroot lattice of $G$ let $Z^α$ denote the space of based maps from the projective line to the flag variety of $G$ of degree $α$. This space is known to be isomorphic to the space of framed euclidean $G$-monopoles with maximal symmetry breaking at infinity of charge $α$. In [Finkelberg-Kuznetsov-Markarian-Mirković] a system of (étale, rational) coordinates on $Z^α$ is introduced. In this note we compute various known structures on $Z^α$ in terms of the above coordinates. As a byproduct we give a natural interpretation of the Gaiotto-Witten superpotential and relate it to the theory of Whittaker D-modules introduced by D.Gaitsgory.

Character D-modules via Drinfeld center of Harish-Chandra bimodules

The category of character D-modules is realized as Drinfeld center of the abelian monoidal category of Harish-Chandra bimodules. Tensor product of Harish-Chandra bimodules is related to convolution of D-modules via the long intertwining functor (Radon transform) by a result of Beilinson and Ginzburg. Exactness property of the long intertwining functor on a cell subquotient of the Harish-Chandra bimodules category shows that the truncated convolution category can be realized as a subquotient of the category of Harish-Chandra bimodules. Together with the description of the truncated convolution category arXiv:math/0605628v3 this allows us to derive classification of irreducible character sheaves over $\mathbb C$ obtained by Lusztig by a different method. We also give a simple description for the top cohomology of convolution of character sheaves over $\mathbb C$ in a given cell modulo smaller cells and relate the so-called Harish-Chandra functor to Verdier specialization in the De Concini-Procesi compactification.

Finite difference quantum Toda lattice via equivariant K-theory

We construct the action of the quantum group U_v(sl_n) by the natural correspondences in the equivariant localized $K$-theory of the Laumon based Quasiflags' moduli spaces. The resulting module is the universal Verma module. We construct geometrically the Shapovalov scalar product and the Whittaker vectors. It follows that a certain generating function of the characters of the global sections of the structure sheaves of the Laumon moduli spaces satisfies a $v$-difference analogue of the quantum Toda lattice system, reproving the main theorem of Givental-Lee. The similar constructions are performed for the affine Lie agebra \hat{sl}_n.

Quantization of Drinfeld Zastava in type A

Drinfeld Zastava is a certain closure of the moduli space of maps from the projective line to the Kashiwara flag scheme of the affine Lie algebra $\hat{sl}_n$. We introduce an affine, reduced, irreducible, normal quiver variety $Z$ which maps to the Zastava space bijectively at the level of complex points. The natural Poisson structure on the Zastava space can be described on $Z$ in terms of Hamiltonian reduction of a certain Poisson subvariety of the dual space of a (nonsemisimple) Lie algebra. The quantum Hamiltonian reduction of the corresponding quotient of its universal enveloping algebra produces a quantization $Y$ of the coordinate ring of $Z$. The same quantization was obtained in the finite (as opposed to the affine) case generically in arXiv:math/0409031. We prove that, for generic values of quantization parameters, $Y$ is a quotient of the affine Borel Yangian.

Quantization of Drinfeld Zastava in type C

Drinfeld zastava is a certain closure of the moduli space of maps from the projective line to the Kashiwara flag scheme of an affine Lie algebra $\hat g$. In case $g$ is the symplectic Lie algebra $sp_N$, we introduce an affine, reduced, irreducible, normal quiver variety $Z$ which maps to the zastava space isomorphically in characteristic 0. The natural Poisson structure on the zastava space $Z$ can be described in terms of Hamiltonian reduction of a certain Poisson subvariety of the dual space of a (nonsemisimple) Lie algebra. The quantum Hamiltonian reduction of the corresponding quotient of its universal enveloping algebra produces a quantization $Y$ of the coordinate ring of $Z$. The same quantization was obtained in the finite (as opposed to the affine) case generically in arXiv:math/0409031 . We prove that $Y$ is a quotient of the affine Borel Yangian. The analogous results for $g=sl_N$ were obtained in our previous work arXiv:1009.0676 .

Wreath Macdonald polynomials and categorical McKay correspondence

Mark Haiman has reduced Macdonald positivity conjecture to a statement about geometry of the Hilbert scheme of points on the plane, and formulated a generalization of the conjectures where the symmetric group is replaced by the wreath product $S_n\ltimes (Z/r Z)^n$. He has proven the original conjecture by establishing the geometric statement about the Hilbert scheme, as a byproduct he obtained a derived equivalence between coherent sheaves on the Hilbert scheme and coherent sheaves on the orbifold quotient of ${\mathbb A}^{2n}$ by the symmetric group $S_n$. A short proof of a similar derived equivalence for any symplectic quotient singularity has been obtained by the first author and Kaledin via quantization in positive characteristic. In the present note we show the properties of the derived equivalence which imply the generalized Macdonald positivity for wreath products.

Macdonald polynomials, Laumon spaces and perverse coherent sheaves

Let $G$ be an almost simple simply connected complex Lie group, and let $G/U_-$ be its base affine space. In this paper we formulate a conjecture, which provides a new geometric interpretation of the Macdonald polynomials associated to $G$ via perverse coherent sheaves on the scheme of formal arcs in the affinization of $G/U_-$. We prove our conjecture for $G=SL(N)$ using the so called Laumon resolution of the space of quasi-maps (using this resolution one can reformulate the statement so that only "usual" (not perverse) coherent sheaves are used). In the course of the proof we also give a $K$-theoretic version of the main result of arXiv/0811.4454.

A finite analog of the AGT relation I: finite W-algebras and quasimaps' spaces

Recently Alday, Gaiotto and Tachikawa proposed a conjecture relating 4-dimensional super-symmetric gauge theory for a gauge group G with certain 2-dimensional conformal field theory. This conjecture implies the existence of certain structures on the (equivariant) intersection cohomology of the Uhlenbeck partial compactification of the moduli space of framed G-bundles on P^2. More precisely, it predicts the existence of an action of the corresponding W-algebra on the above cohomology, satisfying certain properties. We propose a "finite analog" of the (above corollary of the) AGT conjecture. Namely, we replace the Uhlenbeck space with the space of based quasi-maps from P^1 to any partial flag variety G/P of G and conjecture that its equivariant intersection cohomology carries an action of the finite W-algebra U(g,e) associated with the principal nilpotent element in the Lie algebra of the Levi subgroup of P; this action is expected to satisfy some list of natural properties. This conjecture generalizes the main result of arXiv:math/0401409 when P is the Borel subgroup. We prove our conjecture for G=GL(N), using the works of Brundan and Kleshchev interpreting the algebra U(g,e) in terms of certain shifted Yangians.

Degenerate flag varieties of type A: Frobenius splitting and BW theorem

Let $\Fl^a_\la$ be the PBW degeneration of the flag varieties of type $A_{n-1}$. These varieties are singular and are acted upon with the degenerate Lie group $SL_n^a$. We prove that $\Fl^a_\la$ have rational singularities, are normal and locally complete intersections, and construct a desingularization $R_\la$ of $\Fl^a_\la$. The varieties $R_\la$ can be viewed as towers of successive $\bP^1$-fibrations, thus providing an analogue of the classical Bott-Samelson-Demazure-Hansen desingularization. We prove that the varieties $R_\la$ are Frobenius split. This gives us Frobenius splitting for the degenerate flag varieties and allows to prove the Borel-Weyl type theorem for $\Fl^a_\la$. Using the Atiyah-Bott-Lefschetz formula for $R_\la$, we compute the $q$-characters of the highest weight $\msl_n$-modules.

Pursuing the double affine Grassmannian III: Convolution with affine Zastava

This is the third paper of a series (started by arXiv:0711.2083, arXiv:0908.3390) which describes a conjectural analog of the affine Grassmannian for affine Kac-Moody groups (also known as the double affine Grassmannian). The current paper is dedicated to describing a conjectural analog of the convolution diagram for the double affine Grassmannian and affine Zastava.

Affine Gindikin-Karpelevich formula via Uhlenbeck spaces

We prove a version of the Gindikin-Karpelevich formula for untwisted affine Kac-Moody groups over a local field of positive characteristic. The proof is geometric and it is based on the results of [1] about intersection cohomology of certain Uhlenbeck-type moduli spaces (in fact, our proof is conditioned upon the assumption that the results of [1] are valid in positive characteristic). In particular, we give a geometric explanation of certain combinatorial differences between finite-dimensional and affine case (observed earlier by Macdonald and Cherednik), which here manifest themselves by the fact that the affine Gindikin-Karpelevich formula has an additional term compared to the finite-dimensional case. Very roughy speaking, that additional term is related to the fact that the loop group of an affine Kac-Moody group (which roughly speaking should be thought of as some kind of "double loop group") does not behave well from algebro-geometric point of view; however it has a better behaved version which has something to do with algebraic surfaces. A uniform (i.e. valid for all local fields) and unconditional (but not geometric) proof of the affine Gindikin-Karpelevich formula is going to appear in [2].

Dynamical Weyl groups and equivariant cohomology of transversal slices in affine Grassmannians

Let G be a reductive group; in this note we give an interpretation of the dynamical Weyl group of of the Langlands dual group $\check{G}$ defined by Etingof and Varchenko in terms of the geometry of the affine Grassmannian Gr of G. In this interpretation the dynamical parameters of Etingof and Varchenko correspond to equivariant parameters with respect to certain natural torus acting on Gr. We also present a conjectural generalization of our results to the case of affine Kac-Moody groups.

Gelfand-Tsetlin algebras and cohomology rings of Laumon spaces

Laumon moduli spaces are certain smooth closures of the moduli spaces of maps from the projective line to the flag variety of GL_n. We calculate the equivariant cohomology rings of the Laumon moduli spaces in terms of Gelfand-Tsetlin subalgebra of U(gl_n), and formulate a conjectural answer for the small quantum cohomology rings in terms of certain commutative shift of argument subalgebras of U(gl_n).

The current paper is dedicated to describing a conjectural analog of the convolution diagram for the double affine Grassmannian. In the case when G=SL(n) our conjectures can be derived from arXiv:0809.2605.

Yangians and cohomology rings of Laumon spaces

Laumon moduli spaces are certain smooth closures of the moduli spaces of maps from the projective line to the flag variety of $GL_n$. We construct the action of the Yangian of $sl_n$ in the cohomology of Laumon spaces by certain natural correspondences. We construct the action of the affine Yangian (two-parametric deformation of the universal enveloping algebra of the universal central extension of $sl_n[s^{\pm1},t]$) in the cohomology of the affine version of Laumon spaces. We compute the matrix coefficients of the generators of the affine Yangian in the fixed point basis of cohomology. This basis is an affine analogue of the Gelfand-Tsetlin basis. The affine analogue of the Gelfand-Tsetlin algebra surjects onto the equivariant cohomology rings of the affine Laumon spaces. The cohomology ring of the moduli space $M_{n,d}$ of torsion free sheaves on the plane, of rank $n$ and second Chern class $d$, trivialized at infinity, is naturally embedded into the cohomology ring of certain affine Laumon space. It is the image of the center $Z$ of the Yangian of $gl_n$ naturally embedded into the affine Yangian. In particular, the first Chern class of the determinant line bundle on $M_{n,d}$ is the image of a noncommutative power sum in $Z$.

On mirabolic D-modules

Let an algebraic group G act on X, a connected algebraic manifold, with finitely many orbits. For any Harish-Chandra pair (D,G) where D is a sheaf of twisted differential operators on X, we form a left ideal D.g in D generated by the Lie algebra g, of G. Then, D/D.g is a holonomic D-module and its restriction to a unique Zariski open dense G-orbit in X is a G-equivariant local system. We prove a criterion saying that the D-module D/D.g is isomorphic, under certain (quite restrictive) conditions, to a direct image of that local system to X. We apply this criterion in the special case where the group G=SL(n) acts diagonally on X = F \times F \times P^{n-1}, a triple product where F is the flag manifold for SL(n) and P^{n-1} is the projective space. We further relate D-modules on F \times F \times P^{n-1} to D-modules on the space SL(n) \times P^{n-1} via a pair, CH, HC, of adjoint functors, analogous to those used in Lusztig's theory of character sheaves. A second important result of the paper provides an explicit description of these functors showing that the functor HC gives an exact functor on the abelian category of mirabolic D-modules.

Parabolic sheaves on surfaces and affine Lie algebra $\hat{gl}_n$

We give an example of geometric construction (via Hecke correspondences) of certain representations of the affine Lie algebra $\hat{gl}_n$. The construction is similar to the one of [FK] for the Lie algebra $sl_n$. Given a surface with a smooth embedded curve $C$ we consider the moduli spaces $K_α$ of rank $n$ parabolic sheaves satisfying certain conditions. The top dimensional irreducible components of $K_α$ are numbered by the isomorphism classes of $α$-dimensional nilpotent representations of the cyclic quiver $\tilde{A}_{n-1}$. Summing up over all $α\in{\Bbb N}[{\Bbb Z}/n{\Bbb Z}]$ we obtain a vector space $M$ with a basis of fundamental classes of top dimensional components of $K_α$. The natural correspondences give rise to the action of Chevalley generators $e_i,f_i\in\hat{sl}_n$ on $M$. We compute explicitly the matrix coefficients of $e_i,f_i$ in the above basis. The central charge of $M$ depends on the genus of the curve $C$ and the degree of its normal bundle.

Global Intersection Cohomology of Quasimaps' Spaces

Let $C$ be a smooth projective curve of genus 0. Let $\CB$ be the variety of complete flags in an $n$-dimensional vector space $V$. Given an $(n-1)$-tuple $α\in\BN[I]$ of positive integers one can consider the space $\CQ_α$ of algebraic maps of degree $α$ from $C$ to $\CB$. This space admits some remarkable compactifications $\CQ^D_α$ (Quasimaps), $\CQ^L_α$ (Quasiflags), $\CQ^K_α$ (Stable Maps) of $\CQ_α$ constructed by Drinfeld, Laumon and Kontsevich respectively. It has been proved that the natural map $π: \CQ^L_α\to \CQ^D_α$ is a small resolution of singularities. The aim of the present note is to study the cohomology $H^\bullet(\CQ^L_α,\BQ)$ of Laumon's spaces or, equivalently, the Intersection Cohomology $H^\bullet(\CQ^L_α,IC)$ of Drinfeld's Quasimaps' spaces. We calculate the generating function $P_G(t)$ (``Poincaré polynomial'') of the direct sum $\oplus_{α\in\BN[I]}H^\bullet(\CQ^D_α,IC)$ and construct a natural action of the Lie algebra ${\frak{sl}}_n$ on this direct sum by some middle-dimensional correspondences between Quasiflags' spaces. We conjecture that this module is isomorphic to distributions on nilpotent cone supported at nilpotent subalgebra.
