Generalized derivations on certain Banach algebras

Let A{\mathcal A} be a Banach algebra with the properties that rad(A)=rann(A)\mathrm{rad}({\mathcal A})={\rm rann}({\mathcal A}) and the algebra A/rad(A){\mathcal A}/\mathrm{rad}({\mathcal A}) is commutative. We show that a derivation of A{\mathcal A} maps A{\mathcal A} into rad(A){\rm rad}({\mathcal A}). Using this, we determine among other things when a generalized derivation of A{\mathcal A} maps A{\mathcal A} into rad(A){\rm rad}({\mathcal A}). We also study kk-centralizing generalized derivations of A{\mathcal A}. Then, for a generalized derivation (δ,d)(δ, d) of A{\mathcal A} we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for (δ2,d2)(δ^2, d^2) to be still a generalized derivation of A{\mathcal A}. The main applications are concerned with the algebras over locally compact groups. In particular, we deduce these results for bidual of Fourier algebras of discrete amenable groups as an application of our approach.

Some cohomological notions on A×TB{\mathcal A}\times_T {\mathcal B}

Associated with two Banach algebras A\mathcal A and B\mathcal B and a norm decreasing homomorphism T:B→AT:{\mathcal B}\rightarrow{\mathcal A}, there is a certain Banach algebra product A×TB{\mathcal A}\times_T {\mathcal B}, which is a splitting extension of B\mathcal B by A\mathcal A. We investigate some notions of amenability such as approximate weak amenability, approximate cyclic amenability, ideal amenability, approximate Connes-amenability, Pseudo-Connes amenability, w∗w^*-approximate Connes-amenability, essential amenability, essential ϕϕ-amenability and essential character amenability. In particular, we improve the previous results for cyclic amenability of A×TB{\mathcal A}\times_T {\mathcal B}.

The multiplier algebra and BSE-functions for certain product of Banach algebras

In this paper, we characterize the (left) multiplier algebra of a semidirect product algebra A=B⊕I{\mathcal A}={\mathcal B}\oplus {\mathcal I}, where I{\mathcal I} and B{\mathcal B} are closed two-sided ideal and closed subalgebra of A{\mathcal A}, respectively. As an application of this result we investigate the BSE-property of this class of Banach algebras. We then for two commutative semisimple Banach algebras A{\mathcal A} and B{\mathcal B} characterize the BSE-functions on the carrier space of A×ϕB{\mathcal A}\times_ϕ{\mathcal B}, the ϕϕ-Lau product of A{\mathcal A} and B{\mathcal B}, in terms of those functions on carrier spaces of A{\mathcal A} and B{\mathcal B}. We also prove that A×ϕB{\mathcal A}\times_ϕ{\mathcal B} is a BSE-algebra if and only if both A{\mathcal A} and B{\mathcal B} are BSE.

Separating maps between commutative Banach algebras

Let A\cal A and B\cal B be Banach algebras. A linear map T:A→BT:{\cal A} \rightarrow {\cal B} is called separating or disjointness preserving if ab=0ab=0 implies Ta  Tb=0Ta\;Tb = 0 for all a,b∈Aa,b\in {\cal A}. In this paper, we study a new class of regular Tauberian algebras and prove that some well-known Banach algebras in harmonic analysis belong to this class. We show that a bijective separating map between these algebras turns out to be continuous and the maximal ideal spaces of underlying algebras are homeomorphic. By imposing extra conditions on these algebras, we find a more thorough characterization of separating maps. The existence of a bijective separating map also leads to the existence of an algebraic isomorphism in some cases.

Lebesgue-Fourier algebra of a hypergroup

Let LA(H){\mathcal L} A(H) be the Lebesgue-Fourier space of a hypergroup HH considered as a Banach space on HH. In addition LA(H){\mathcal L}A(H) is a Banach algebra with the multiplication inherited from L1(H)L^1(H). Moreover If HH is a regular Fourier hypergroup, LA(H){\mathcal L}A(H) is a Banach algebra with pointwise multiplication. We study the amenability and character amenability of these two Banach algebras.
