Invariances of the operator properties of frame multipliers under perturbations of frames and symbol

Let ΦΦ and ΨΨ be frames for H\cal H and let Mm,Φ,ΨM_{m,Φ,Ψ} be a frame multiplier with the symbol mm. In this paper, we restrict our investigation to show that the operator properties of Mm,Φ,ΨM_{m,Φ,Ψ} are stable under the perturbations of ΦΦ, ΨΨ and mm. Also, special attention is devoted to the study of invertible frame multipliers. These results are not only of interest in their own right, but also they pave the way for obtaining some new results for Gabor multipliers which have been studied mostly by Hans Georg Feichtinger and his coauthors in recent years.

Measure Algebras on Homogeneous Spaces

For a locally compact group GG and a compact subgroup HH, we show that the Banach space M(G/H)M(G/H) may be considered as a quotient space of M(G)M(G). Also, we define a convolution on M(G/H)M(G/H) which makes it into a Banach algebra. It may be identified with a closed subalgebra of the involutive Banach algebra M(G)M(G), and there is no involution on M(G/H)M(G/H) compatible with this identification unless HH is a normal subgroup of GG. In other words, M(G/H)M(G/H) is a ∗*-Banach subalgebra of M(G)M(G) only if HH is a normal subgroup of GG. As well, it is a unital Banach algebra just when HH is a normal subgroup. Furthermore, when G/HG/H is attached to a strongly quasi-invariant measure, L1(G/H)L^1(G/H) is a Banach subspace of M(G/H)M(G/H). Using the restriction of the convolution on M(G/H)M(G/H), we obtain a Banach algebra L1(G/H)L^1(G/H), which may be considered as a Banach subalgebra of L1(G)L^1(G), with a right approximate identity. It has no involution and no left approximate identity except for a normal subgroup HH. Consequently, the Banach algebra L1(G/H)L^1(G/H) is amenable if and only if HH is a normal subgroup and GG is amenable.

On the weak∗^* continuity of LUC(G)∗LUC({\cal G})^*-module action on LUC(X,G)∗LUC({\cal X},{\cal G})^* related to G\cal G-space X\cal X

Associated with a locally compact group G\cal G and a G\cal G-space X\cal X there is a Banach subspace LUC(X,G)LUC({\cal X},{\cal G}) of Cb(X)C_b({\cal X}), which has been introduced and studied by Lau and Chu in \cite{chulau}. In this paper, we study some properties of the first dual space of LUC(X,G)LUC({\cal X},{\cal G}). In particular, we introduce a left action of LUC(G)∗LUC({\cal G})^* on LUC(X,G)∗LUC({\cal X},{\cal G})^* to make it a Banach left module and then we investigate the Banach subalgebra Z(X,G){\frak{Z}({\cal X},{\cal G})} of LUC(G)∗LUC({\cal G})^*, as the topological centre related to this module action, which contains M(G)M({\cal G}) as a closed subalgebra. Also, we show that the faithfulness of this module action is related to the properties of the action of G\cal G on X\cal X and we extend the main results of Lau~\cite{lau} from locally compact groups to G{\cal G}-spaces. Sufficient and/or necessary conditions for the equality Z(X,G)=M(G){\frak{Z}({\cal X},{\cal G})}=M({\cal G}) or LUC(G)∗LUC({\cal G})^* are given. Finally, we apply our results to some special cases of G\cal G and X\cal X for obtaining various examples whose topological centres Z(X,G){\frak{Z}({\cal X},{\cal G})} are M(G)M({\cal G}), LUC(G)∗LUC({\cal G})^* or neither of them.

Some cohomological notions on A×TB{\mathcal A}\times_T {\mathcal B}

Associated with two Banach algebras A\mathcal A and B\mathcal B and a norm decreasing homomorphism T:B→AT:{\mathcal B}\rightarrow{\mathcal A}, there is a certain Banach algebra product A×TB{\mathcal A}\times_T {\mathcal B}, which is a splitting extension of B\mathcal B by A\mathcal A. We investigate some notions of amenability such as approximate weak amenability, approximate cyclic amenability, ideal amenability, approximate Connes-amenability, Pseudo-Connes amenability, w∗w^*-approximate Connes-amenability, essential amenability, essential ϕϕ-amenability and essential character amenability. In particular, we improve the previous results for cyclic amenability of A×TB{\mathcal A}\times_T {\mathcal B}.

Some properties of generalized and approximately dual frames in Hilbert spaces

In the present paper, some sufficient and necessary conditions for two frames Φ=(φn)nΦ=(φ_n)_n and Ψ=(ψn)nΨ=(ψ_n)_n under which they are approximately or generalized dual frames are determined depending on the properties of their analysis and synthesis operators. We also give a new characterization for approximately dual frames associated with a given frame and given operator by using of bounded operators. Among other things, we prove that if two frames Φ=(φn)nΦ=(φ_n)_n and Ψ=(ψn)nΨ=(ψ_n)_n are close to each other, then we can find approximately dual frames Φad=(φnad)nΦ^{ad}=(φ^{ad}_n)_n and Ψad=(ψnad)nΨ^{ad}=(ψ^{ad}_n)_n of them which are close to each other and TΦUΦad=TΨUΨadT_ΦU_{Φ^{ad}}=T_ΨU_{Ψ^{ad}}, where TΦT_Φ and TΨT_Ψ (resp. UΦadU_{Φ^{ad}} and UΨadU_{Ψ^{ad}}) are the analysis operators (resp. synthesis operators) of the frames ΦΦ and ΨΨ (resp. ΦadΦ^{ad} and ΨadΨ^{ad}), respectively. We then give some consequences on generalized dual frames. Finally, we apply these results to find some construction results for approximately dual frames for a given Gabor frame.

The multiplier algebra and BSE-functions for certain product of Banach algebras

In this paper, we characterize the (left) multiplier algebra of a semidirect product algebra A=B⊕I{\mathcal A}={\mathcal B}\oplus {\mathcal I}, where I{\mathcal I} and B{\mathcal B} are closed two-sided ideal and closed subalgebra of A{\mathcal A}, respectively. As an application of this result we investigate the BSE-property of this class of Banach algebras. We then for two commutative semisimple Banach algebras A{\mathcal A} and B{\mathcal B} characterize the BSE-functions on the carrier space of A×ϕB{\mathcal A}\times_ϕ{\mathcal B}, the ϕϕ-Lau product of A{\mathcal A} and B{\mathcal B}, in terms of those functions on carrier spaces of A{\mathcal A} and B{\mathcal B}. We also prove that A×ϕB{\mathcal A}\times_ϕ{\mathcal B} is a BSE-algebra if and only if both A{\mathcal A} and B{\mathcal B} are BSE.
