Landscape of heavy baryons from the perspective of the chiral quark-soliton model

We employ the chiral quark-soliton model and the heavy quark symmetry to describe spectra of charm and beauty baryons. Heavy baryons can be classified according to the SU(3) representations of the light sector. We argue that recently discovered $Ξ_b$ states can be interpreted as negative parity excited anti-triplets or sextets, and the $Σ_b$ states as negative parity sextets. Consequences of such assignments for the decay patterns are discussed and also predictions of masses of the yet unmeasured sextet members are given.

Nucleon quasi-Parton Distributions in the large N$_c$ limit

In this letter, we investigate the nucleon quasi-parton distribution functions in the chiral quark soliton model. We derive a set of sum-rules depending on the velocity of the nucleon and on the Dirac matrix defining the distribution functions. We present numerical results for the isosinglet unpolarized distribution, in which we find that the anti-quark distribution breaks the positivity condition at nucleon velocities $v\approx 0.99\;(P_N\approx 7.0 M_N)$ and smaller. We found that, for the isosinglet unpolarized case, a large nucleon momentum is required for the quasi-parton distribution to get close enough to the usual parton distribution function.

Quadrupole pressure and shear forces inside baryons in the large $N_c$ limit

We derive number of relations between quadrupole energy, elastic pressure, and shear force distributions in baryons using the large $N_c$ picture of baryons as chiral solitons. The obtained large $N_c$ relations are independent of particular dynamics and should hold in any picture in which the baryon is the chiral soliton. One of remarkable qualitative predictions of the soliton picture is the nullification of the tangential forces acting on the radial area element for any tensor polarisation of the baryon. The derived relations provide a powerful tool to check the hypothesis that the baryons are chiral solitons, say using lattice QCD.

Strong force fields and stabilities of the nucleon and singly heavy baryon $Σ_c$

We investigate the strong force fields and stabilities of the nucleon and the singly heavy baryon $Σ_c$ within the framework of the chiral quark-soliton model. Having constructed the pion mean fields in the presence of the $N_c-1$ level quarks self-consistently, we are able to examine the gravitational form factors of $Σ_c$. We mainly focus in the present work on the stability conditions for both the nucleon and $Σ_c$ and discuss the strong force fields and their physical implications. We also present the results for the gravitational form factors and relevant observables, emphasising the difference between the nucleon and $Σ_c$.

New LHCb pentaquarks as hadrocharmonium states

New LHCb Collaboration results on pentaquarks with hidden charm [1] are discussed. These results fit nicely in the hadrocharmonium pentaquark scenario [2,3]. In the new data the old LHCb pentaquark $P_c(4450)$ splits into two states $P_c(4440)$ and $P_c(4457)$. We interpret these two almost degenerate hadrocharmonium states with $J^P=1/2^-$ and $J^P=3/2^-$ as a result of hyperfine splitting between hadrocharmonium states predicted in [2]. It arises due to QCD multipole interaction between color-singlet hadrocharmonium constituents. We improve the theoretical estimate of hyperfine splitting [2,3] that is compatible with the experimental data. The new $P_c(4312)$ state finds a natural explanation as a bound state of $χ_{c0}$ and a nucleon, with $I=1/2$, $J^P=1/2^+$ and binding energy 42 MeV. As a bound state of a spin-zero meson and a nucleon, hadrocharmonium pentaquark $P_c(4312)$ does not experience hyperfine splitting. We find a series of hadrocharmonium states in the vicinity of the wide $P_c(4380)$ pentaquark that can explain its apparently large decay width. We compare the hadrocharmonium and molecular pentaquark scenarios and discuss their relative advantages and drawbacks.

Pion mean fields and heavy baryons

We show that the masses of the lowest-lying heavy baryons can be very well described in a pion mean-field approach. We consider a heavy baryon as a system consisting of the $N_c-1$ light quarks that induce the pion mean field, and a heavy quark as a static color source under the influence of this mean field. In this approach we derive a number of \textit{model-independent} relations and calculate the heavy baryon masses using those of the lowest-lying light baryons as input. The results are in remarkable agreement with the experimental data. In addition, the mass of the $Ω_b^*$ baryon is predicted.

Structure of the Energy-Momentum Tensor and Applications

The probably most fundamental information about a particle is contained in the matrix elements of its energy momentum tensor (EMT) which are accessible from hard-exclusive reactions via generalized parton distribution functions. The spin decomposition of the nucleon and Ji sum rule are one example. Less prominent but equally important information is encoded in the stress tensor, related to the spatial components of the EMT, which shows in detail how the strong forces inside the nucleon balance to form a bound state. This provides not only unique insights on nucleon structure. It also leads to fascinating new applications to hadron spectroscopy which allow us to formulate new interpretations of the charmonium-nucleon pentaquarks discovered by LHCb. Recent progress is reviewed in this short overview article.

Narrow Nucleon-$ψ(2S)$ Bound State and LHCb Pentaquarks

We interpret the newly discovered pentaquark $P_c(4450)$ as a bound state of charmonium $ψ(2S)$ and the nucleon. The binding potential is due to charmonium-nucleon interaction that in the heavy quark approximation is proportional to the product of the charmonium chromoelectric polarizability and the nucleon energy-momentum distribution. We use the large $N_c$ expansion to estimate the quarkonium polarizability and calculate the nucleon properties in the framework of the mean-field picture of light baryons. Two almost degenerate states $J^P=(1/2)^-$ and $J^P=(3/2)^-$ are predicted at the position of the $P_c(4450)$ pentaquark. We find that the nucleon-$ψ(2S)$ bound state has a naturally narrow width in the range of tens of MeV. The unitary multiplet partners of the $P_c(4450)$ pentaquark and the generalization to $b \bar b$-nucleon pentaquark bound states are discussed.

Dual parametrization of generalized parton distributions in two equivalent representations

The dual parametrization and the Mellin-Barnes integral approach represent two frameworks for handling the double partial wave expansion of generalized parton distributions (GPDs) in the conformal partial waves and in the $t$-channel ${\rm SO}(3)$ partial waves. Within the dual parametrization framework, GPDs are represented as integral convolutions of forward-like functions whose Mellin moments generate the conformal moments of GPDs. The Mellin-Barnes integral approach is based on the analytic continuation of the GPD conformal moments to the complex values of the conformal spin. GPDs are then represented as the Mellin-Barnes-type integrals in the complex conformal spin plane. In this paper we explicitly show the equivalence of these two independently developed GPD representations. Furthermore, we clarify the notions of the $J=0$ fixed pole and the $D$-form factor. We also provide some insight into GPD modeling and map the phenomenologically successful Kumerički-Müller GPD model to the dual parametrization framework by presenting the set of the corresponding forward-like functions. We also build up the reparametrization procedure allowing to recast the double distribution representation of GPDs in the Mellin-Barnes integral framework and present the explicit formula for mapping double distributions into the space of double partial wave amplitudes with complex conformal spin.

Electromagnetic mass differences of SU(3) baryons within a chiral soliton model

We investigate the electromagnetic mass differences of SU(3) baryons, using an "model-independent approach" within a chiral soliton model. The electromagnetic self-energy corrections to the masses of the baryon are expressed as the baryonic two-point correlation function of the electromagnetic currents. Using the fact that the electromagnetic current can be treated as an octet operator, and considering possible irreducible representations of the correlation function, we are able to construct a general collective operator for the electromagnetic self-energies, which consists of three unknown parameters. These parameters are fixed, the empirical data for the electromagnetic mass differences of the baryon octet being employed. We predict those of the baryon decuplet and antidecuplet. In addition, we obtain various mass relations between baryon masses within the corresponding representation with isospin symmetry breaking considered. We also predict the physical mass differences of the baryon decuplet. The results are in good agreement with the exisiting data.

Dual parametrization of GPDs versus the double distribution Ansatz

We establish a link between the dual parametrization of GPDs and a popular parametrization based on the double distribution Ansatz, which is in prevalent use in phenomenological applications. We compute several first forward-like functions that express the double distribution Ansatz for GPDs in the framework of the dual parametrization and show that these forward-like functions make the dominant contribution into the GPD quintessence function. We also argue that the forward-like functions $Q_{2 ν}(x)$ with $ν\ge 1$ contribute to the leading singular small-$x_{Bj}$ behavior of the imaginary part of DVCS amplitude. This makes the small-$x_{Bj}$ behavior of $\im A^{DVCS}$ independent of the asymptotic behavior of PDFs. Assuming analyticity of Mellin moments of GPDs in the Mellin space we are able to fix the value of the $D$-form factor in terms of the GPD quintessence function $N(x,t)$ and the forward-like function $Q_0(x,t)$.

Dual parameterization and Abel transform tomography for twist-3 DVCS

We derive dual parameterization for the DVCS amplitude to the twist-3 accuracy. The relation of the dual parameterization to the Abel transform tomography for amplitudes of hard exclusive processes is elaborated. We prove dispersion relations for the twist-3 DVCS amplitude in the Wandzura -- Wilczek approximation and show that the subtraction constant is given by the D-term form factor. The same as in the case of twist-2 DVCS amplitude.

Nucleon Tensor Charges in the SU(2) Chiral Quark--Soliton Model

We investigate the singlet $g_T^{(0)}$ and isovector $g_T^{(3)}$ tensor charges of the nucleon, which are deeply related to the first moment of the leading twist transversity quark distribution $h_1(x)$, in the SU(2) chiral quark-soliton model. With rotational $O(1/N_c)$ corrections taken into account, we obtain $g_T^{(0)}=0.69$ and $g_T^{(3)}=1.45$ at a low normalization point of several hundreds MeV. Within the same approximation and parameters the model yields $g_A^{(0)}=0.36$, $g_A^{(3)}=1.21$ for axial charges and correct octet--decuplet mass splitting. We show how the chiral quark-soliton model interpolates between the nonrelativistic quark model and the Skyrme model.

Tensor Charges of the Nucleon in the SU(3) Chiral Quark Soliton Model

The tensor charges of the nucleon are calculated in the framework of the SU(3) chiral quark soliton model. The rotational $1/N_c$ and strange quark mass corrections are taken into account up to linear order. We obtain the following numerical values of the tensor charges: $δu=1.12$, $δd=-0.42$, and $δs=-0.008$. In contrast to the axial charges, the tensor charges in our model are closer to those of the nonrelativistic quark model, in particular, the net number of the transversely polarized strange quarks in a transversely polarized nucleon $δs$ is compatible with zero.

Electromagnetic Form Factors of the SU(3) Octet Baryons in the semibosonized SU(3) Nambu-Jona-Lasinio Model

The electromagnetic form factors of the SU(3) octet baryons are investigated in the semibosonized SU(3) Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model (chiral quark-soliton model). The rotational $1/N_c$ and strange quark mass corrections in linear order are taken into account. The electromagnetic charge radii of the nucleon and magnetic moments are also evaluated. It turns out that the model is in a remarkable good agreement with the experimental data.
