Observations on the massive particle surface method

The geodesic method has played a crucial role in understanding the circular orbits generated by compact objects, culminating in the definition of the photon sphere, which was later generalized to a photon surface in arbitrary spacetimes. This new formulation extends the concept of the photon sphere in a broader sense, including dynamical spacetimes, as shown by the Vaidya solution. The photon surface essentially defines the null geodesics, which are originally tangent to the temporal surface, and keeps them confined to this surface. However, this formalism does not cover all classes of particles, and to overcome this limitation, a more comprehensive approach, denoted as the "massive particle surface", has been proposed that also accounts for charged massive particles. Indeed, the photon surface concept is recovered when the charge and mass of the particles are zero. In this work, we use these three formalisms to check the consistency of the results for the values of the radius of the photon sphere ($r_{ps}$) and the radius of the "innermost stable circular orbit" (ISCO) ($r_{\rm ISCO}$) for some gravitational models. In our results, the first model is described by conformal gravity, with the peculiarity that $g_{00}\neq-g_{11}^{-1}$. The second model, i.e. the Culetu solution, is developed by coupling General Relativity with nonlinear electrodynamics, which requires the consideration of the effective metric ($g_{\rm eff}^{μν}$) for geodesic approaches. Furthermore, we have also analysed the expressions for $r_{ps}$ and $r_{\rm ISCO}$ in a general static and spherically symmetric metric. Under these circumstances, we have found a discrepancy of $r_{ps}$ and $r_{\rm ISCO}$ obtained by the massive particle surface formalism as compared to the geodesic and photon surface formalisms.

Bardeen-Kiselev black hole with cosmological constant

In this work we analyze a solution that mimics the Bardeen solution with a cosmological constant surrounded by quintessence. We show that this solution can be obtained by Einstein equations coupled with nonlinear electrodynamics. We also show that the solution is not always regular and what the conditions for regularity are. We analyze the thermodynamics associated with this type of solution by establishing the form of the Smarr formula and the first law of thermodynamics. We obtain some thermodynamic quantities such as pressure, temperature, heat capacity and isothermal compressibility. Once we have these thermodynamic quantities, we check if this solution has phase transitions and how it behaves at the points where the transitions occur. For some values of the parameters, we find that the solution exhibits a first-order phase transition, like a van der Waals fluid.

Black-Bounce in $f(T)$ Gravity

We study new solutions of black bounce spacetimes formulated in $f(T)$ gravity in four dimensions. First, we present the case of a diagonal tetrad, where a constraint arises in the equations of motion, which is divided into the cases of null torsion, constant torsion, and Teleparallel. The Null Energy Condition (NEC) is still always violated, which implies that the other energy conditions are violated. The solutions are regular in all spacetime and the solution with null torsion exhibits discontinuity between the energy conditions outside and inside the event horizon. Second, we present the case of non-diagonal tetrads. This case is divided into a Simpson-Visser type model and a quadratic model. The NEC continues to be violated, implying a violation of the other energy conditions. The solutions are regular in all spacetimes. An interesting result is that due to the possibility that the area associated with the metric is different from $4πr^2$, the no-go theorem established in the usual $f(T)$ is violated, appearing the new possibility $g_{00}=-g^{11}$, for the components of the metric.

Generalization of Regular Black Holes in General Relativity to $f(R)$ Gravity

In this paper, we determine regular black hole solutions using a very general $f(R)$ theory, coupled to a non-linear electromagnetic field given by a Lagrangian $\mathcal{L}_{NED}$. The functions $f(R)$ and $\mathcal{L}_{NED}$ are left in principle unspecified. Instead, the model is constructed through a choice of the mass function $M(r)$ presented in the metric coefficients. Solutions which have a regular behaviour of the geometric invariants are found. These solutions have two horizons, the event horizon and the Cauchy horizon. All energy conditions are satisfied in the whole space-time, except the strong energy condition (SEC) which is violated near the Cauchy horizon.

Generalized Teleparallel Theory

We construct a theory in which the gravitational interaction is described only by torsion, but that generalizes the Teleparallel Theory still keeping the invariance of local Lorentz transformations in one particular case. We show that our theory falls, to a certain limit of a real parameter, in the $f(\bar{R})$ Gravity or, to another limit of the same real parameter, in a modified $f(T)$ Gravity, interpolating between these two theories and still can fall on several other theories. We explicitly show the equivalence with $f(\bar{R})$ Gravity for cases of Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker flat metric for diagonal tetrads, and a metric with spherical symmetry for diagonal and non-diagonal tetrads. We do still four applications, one in the reconstruction of the de Sitter universe cosmological model, for obtaining a static spherically symmetric solution type-de Sitter for a perfect fluid, for evolution of the state parameter $ω_{DE}$ and for the thermodynamics to the apparent horizon.

Reconstruction, Thermodynamics and Stability of $Λ$CDM Model in $f(T,\mathcal{T})$ Gravity

We reconstruct the $Λ$CDM model for $f(T,\mathcal{T})$ Theory, where $T$ is the torsion scalar and $\mathcal{T}$ the trace of the energy-momentum tensor. The result shows that the action of $Λ$CDM is a combination of a linear term, a constant ($-2Λ$) and a non-linear term given by the product $\sqrt{-T}F_g\left[(T^{1/3}/16πG)\left(16πG\mathcal{T}+T+8Λ\right)\right]$, with $F_g$ being a generic function. We show that to maintain conservation of energy-momentum tensor should impose that $F_g[y]$ must be linear on the trace $\mathcal{T}$. This reconstruction decays in the $f(T)$ Theory for $F_g\equiv Q$, with $Q$ a constant. Our reconstruction describes the cosmological eras to the present time. The model present stability within the geometric and matter perturbations for the choice $F_g=y$, where $y=(T^{1/3}/16πG)\left(16πG\mathcal{T}+T+8Λ\right)$, except for geometric part to de Sitter model. We impose the first and second laws of thermodynamics to the $Λ$CDM and find the condition where they are satisfied, that is, $T_A,G_{eff}>0$, however where this is not possible for cases where we choose, leading to a breakdown of positive entropy and Misner-Sharp energy.

Regular black holes in $f(R)$ gravity coupled to nonlinear electrodynamics

We obtain a class of regular black hole solutions in four-dimensional $f(R)$ gravity, $R$ being the curvature scalar, coupled to a nonlinear electromagnetic source. The metric formalism is used and static spherically symmetric spacetimes are assumed. The resulting $f(R)$ and nonlinear electrodynamics functions are characterized by a one-parameter family of solutions which are generalizations of known regular black holes in general relativity coupled to nonlinear electrodynamics. The related regular black holes of general relativity are recovered when the free parameter vanishes, in which case one has $f(R)\propto R$. We analyze the regularity of the solutions and also show that there are particular solutions that violate only the strong energy condition

Born-Infeld and Charged Black Holes with non-linear source in $f(T)$ Gravity

We investigate $f(T)$ theory coupled with a nonlinear source of electrodynamics, for a spherically symmetric and static spacetime in $4D$. We re-obtain the Born-Infeld and Reissner-Nordstrom-AdS solutions. We generalize the no-go theorem for any content that obeys the relationship $\mathcal{T}^{\;\;0}_{0}=\mathcal{T}^{\;\;1}_{1}$ for the energy-momentum tensor and a given set of tetrads. Our results show new classes of solutions where the metrics are related through $b(r)=-Na(r)$. We do the introductory analysis showing that solutions are that of asymptotically flat black holes, with a singularity at the origin of the radial coordinate, covered by a single event horizon. We also reconstruct the action for this class of solutions and obtain the functional form $f(T) = f_0\left(-T\right)^{(N+3)/[2(N+1)]}$ and $\mathcal{L}_{NED} = \mathcal{L}_0\left(-F\right)^{(N+3)/[2(N+1)]}$. Using the Lagrangian density of Born-Infeld, we obtain a new class of charged black holes where the action reads $f(T) = -16β_{BI} \left[1 - \sqrt{1 + (T/4β_{BI})}\right]$.

Regular black holes in $f(T)$ Gravity through a nonlinear electrodynamics source

We seek to obtain a new class of exact solutions of regular black holes in $f(T)$ Gravity with non-linear electrodynamics material content, with spherical symmetry in $4D$. The equations of motion provide the regaining of various solutions of General Relativity, as a particular case where the function $f(T)=T$. We developed a powerful method for finding exact solutions, where we get the first new class of regular black holes solutions in the $f(T)$ Theory, where all the geometrics scalars disappear at the origin of the radial coordinate and are finite everywhere, as well as a new class of singular black holes.

Inhomogeneous Universe in f(T) Theory

We obtain the equations of motions of the $f(T)$ theory considering the Lemaître-Tolman-Bondi's metric for a set of diagonal and non-diagonal tetrads. In the case of diagonal tetrads the equations of motion of the $f(T)$ theory impose a constant torsion or the same equations of the General Relativity, while in the case of non-diagonal set the equations are quite different from that obtained in GR. We show a simple example of an universe dominated by the matter for the two cases. The comparison of the mass in the non-diagonal case shows a sort of increased with respect to the diagonal one. We also perform two examples for the non-diagonal case. The first concerns a black hole solution of type Sshwarzschild which presents a temperature higher than that of Schwarzschild, and a black hole in a dust-dominated universe.

Phantom black holes and critical phenomena

We consider the two classes cosh and sinh of normal and phantom black holes of Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory. The thermodynamics of these holes is characterized by heat capacities that may have both signs depending on the parameters of the theory. Leaving aside the normal Reissner-Nordström black hole, it is shown that only some phantom black holes of both classes exhibit critical phenomena. The two classes share a nonextremality, but special, critical point where the transition is continuous and the heat capacity, at constant charge, changes sign with an infinite discontinuity. This point yields a classification scheme for critical points. It is concluded that the two unstable and stable phases coexist on one side of the criticality state and disappear on the other side, that is, there is no configuration where only one phase exists. The sinh class has an extremality critical point where the entropy diverges. The transition from extremality to nonextremality with the charge held constant is accompanied by a loss of mass and an increase in the temperature. A special case of this transition is when the hole is isolated (microcanonical ensemble), it will evolve by emission of energy, which results in a decrease of its mass, to the final state of minimum mass and vanishing heat capacity. The Ehrenfest scheme of classification is inaccurate in this case but the generalized one due to Hilfer leads to conclude that the transition is of order less than unity. Fluctuations near criticality are also investigated.

Thermodynamical, geometrical and Poincaré methods for charged black holes in presence of quintessence

Properties pertaining to thermodynamical local stability of Reissner-Nordström black holes surrounded by quintessence as well as adiabatic invariance, adiabatic charging and a generalized Smarr formula are discussed. Limits for the entropy, temperature and electric potential ensuring stability of canonical ensembles are determined by the classical thermodynamical and Poincaré methods. By the latter approach we show that microcanonical ensembles (isolated black holes) are stable. Two geometrical approaches lead to determine the same states corresponding to second order phase transitions.

Thermodynamics of a class of non-asymptotically flat black holes in Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton theory

We analyse in detail the thermodynamics in the canonical and grand canonical ensembles of a class of non-asymptotically flat black holes of the Einstein-(anti) Maxwell-(anti) Dilaton theory in 4D with spherical symmetry. We present the first law of thermodynamics, the thermodynamic analysis of the system through the geometrothermodynamics methods, Weinhold, Ruppeiner, Liu-Lu-Luo-Shao and the most common, that made by the specific heat. The geometric methods show a curvature scalar identically zero, which is incompatible with the results of the analysis made by the non null specific heat, which shows that the system is thermodynamically interacting, does not possess extreme case nor phase transition. We also analyse the local and global stability of the thermodynamic system, and obtain a local and global stability for the normal case for 0<γ<1 and for other values of γ, an unstable system. The solution where γ=0 separates the class of locally and globally stable solutions from the unstable ones.

Thermodynamics of black plane solution

We obtain a new phantom black plane solution in 4D of the Einstein-Maxwell theory coupled with a cosmological constant. We analyse their basic properties, as well as its causal structure, and obtain the extensive and intensive thermodynamic variables, as well as the specific heat and the first law. Through the specific heat and the so-called geometric methods, we analyse in detail their thermodynamic properties, the extreme and phase transition limits, as well as the local and global stabilities of the system. The normal case is shown with an extreme limit and the phantom one with a phase transition only for null mass, which is physically inaccessible. The systems present local and global stabilities for certain values of the entropy density with respect to the electric charge, for the canonical and grand canonical ensembles.

Anisotropic fluid for a set of non-diagonal tetrads in f(T) gravity

We consider $f(T)$ gravity for a Weitzenbock spherically symmetric and static spacetime, where the metric is projected in the tangent space to the manifold for a set of non-diagonal tetrads. The matter content is coupled through the energy momentum tensor of an anisotropic fluid, generating various classes of new black hole and wormhole solutions. One of these classes is that of cold black holes. We also perform the reconstruction scheme of the algebraic function $f(T)$ for two cases where the radial pressure is proportional to $f(T)$ and its first derivative.

Reconstruction of f(T) gravity according to holographic dark energy

We develop the reconstruction of a model of $f(T)$ gravity according to the holographic dark energy. $T$ is the torsion scalar and its initial value from the Teleparallel gravity is imposed for fitting the initial value of the function $f(T)$. The result shows a polynomial function for $f(T)$, and we also observe that, when $Ω_V\rightarrow 1$ at the future time, $ω_V$ may cross -1 for some values of the input parameter $b$. Another interesting aspect of the obtained model is that it provides the unification of the dark matter with the dark energy.

Static Anisotropic Solutions in f(T) Theory

In a previously work, we undertook a static and anisotropic content in $f(T)$ theory and obtained new spherically symmetric solutions considering a constant torsion and some particular conditions for the pressure. In this paper, still in the framework of $f(T)$ theory, new spherically symmetric solutions are obtained, first considering the general case of an isotropic fluid and later the anisotropic content case in which the generalized conditions for the matter content are considered such that the energy density, the radial and tangential pressures depend on the algebraic $f(T)$ and its derivative $f_{T}(T)$. Moreover, we obtain the algebraic function $f(T)$ through the reconstruction method for two cases and also study a polytropic model for the stellar structure.

Thermodynamics in Little Rip cosmology in the framework of a type of f(R,T) gravity

Cosmological reconstruction of Little Rip model in $f(R, T)$ gravity is investigated, where $R$ is the curvature scalar and $T$ the trace of the energy momentum tensor. The model perfectly reproduces the present stage of the universe, characterized by the $ΛCDM$ model, without singularity at future finite-time (without the Big Rip). The input parameters are determined according to Supernovae Cosmology data and perfectly fit with the WMAP around the Little Rip. Moreover, the thermodynamics is considered in this Little Rip cosmology and it is illustrated that the second law of thermodynamics is always satisfied around the Little Rip universe for the temperature inside the horizon being the same as that of the apparent horizon. Moreover, we show the existence of a stable fixed point in the Little Rip universe which confirms that this is actually a late-time attractor in the phantom-dominated universe. The linear perturbation analysis is performed around the critical points, showing that the Little Rip model obtained is stable.

Thermodynamics of phantom black holes in Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton theory

A thermodynamic analysis of the black hole solutions coming from the Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton theory (EMD) in 4D is done. By consider the canonical and grand-canonical ensemble, we apply standard method as well as a recent method known as Geometrothermodynamics (GTD). We are particularly interested in the characteristics of the so called phantom black hole solutions. We will analyze the thermodynamics of these solutions, the points of phase transition and their extremal limit. Also the thermodynamic stability is analyzed. We obtain a mismatch of the between the results of the GTD method when compared with the ones obtained by the specific heat, revealing a weakness of the method, as well as possible limitations of its applicability to very pathological thermodynamic systems. We also found that normal and phantom solutions are locally and globally unstable, unless for certain values of the coupled constant of the EMD action. We also shown that the anti-Reissner-Nordstrom solution does not posses extremal limit nor phase transition points, contrary to the Reissner-Nordstrom case.

Thermodynamics of phantom Reissner-Nordstrom-AdS black hole

We obtain a new solution of the Einstein-anti-Maxwell theory with cosmological constant, called anti-Reissner-Nordstrom-(A)de Sitter (anti-RN-(A)dS) solution. The basic properties of this solution is reviewed. Its thermodynamics is consistently established, with the extreme cases and phase transitions, where the analysis is performed through two methods, the usual one and that of Geometrothermodynamics . The Geometrothermodynamics analysis does not provide a result in agreement with the usual method or by the specific heat. We establish local and global thermodynamic stabilities of anti-RN-AdS solution through the specific heat and the canonical and grand-canonical ensembles.

Equivalence of the Hawking temperature in conformal frames

The conformal invariance of the Hawking temperature, conjectured for the asymptotically flat and stationary black holes by Jacobson and Kang, is semiclassically evaluated for a simple particular case of symmetrical spherically and non asymptotically flat black hole. By using the Bogoliubov coefficients, the metric euclideanization, the reflection coefficient and the gravitational anomaly, as methods of calculating the Hawking temperature, we find that it is invariant under a specific conformal transformation of the metric. We discuss briefly the results for each method.

New Black Holes Solutions in a Modified Gravity

We present a theory of modified gravity, inspired by the gauge theories, where the commutator algebra of covariant derivative gives us an added term with respect to the General Relativity, which represents the interaction of gravity with a substratum. New spherically symmetric solutions of this theory are obtained and can be view as solutions that reproduce, the mass, the charge, the cosmological constant and the Rindler acceleration, without coupling with the matter content, i.e., in the vacuum.

Phantom Black Holes and Sigma Models

We construct static multicenter solutions of phantom Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory from null geodesics of the target space, leading to regular black holes without spatial symmetry for certain discrete values of the dilaton coupling constant. We also discuss the three-dimensional gravitating sigma models obtained by reduction of phantom Einstein-Maxwell, phantom Kaluza-Klein and phantom Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton-axion theories. In each case, we generate by group transformations phantom charged black hole solutions from a neutral seed.
