Inhomogeneous Universe in f(T) Theory

We obtain the equations of motions of the $f(T)$ theory considering the Lemaître-Tolman-Bondi's metric for a set of diagonal and non-diagonal tetrads. In the case of diagonal tetrads the equations of motion of the $f(T)$ theory impose a constant torsion or the same equations of the General Relativity, while in the case of non-diagonal set the equations are quite different from that obtained in GR. We show a simple example of an universe dominated by the matter for the two cases. The comparison of the mass in the non-diagonal case shows a sort of increased with respect to the diagonal one. We also perform two examples for the non-diagonal case. The first concerns a black hole solution of type Sshwarzschild which presents a temperature higher than that of Schwarzschild, and a black hole in a dust-dominated universe.

Anisotropic fluid for a set of non-diagonal tetrads in f(T) gravity

We consider $f(T)$ gravity for a Weitzenbock spherically symmetric and static spacetime, where the metric is projected in the tangent space to the manifold for a set of non-diagonal tetrads. The matter content is coupled through the energy momentum tensor of an anisotropic fluid, generating various classes of new black hole and wormhole solutions. One of these classes is that of cold black holes. We also perform the reconstruction scheme of the algebraic function $f(T)$ for two cases where the radial pressure is proportional to $f(T)$ and its first derivative.

Note on the Evolution of the Gravitational Potential in Rastall Scalar Field Theories

We investigate the evolution of the gravitational potential in Rastall scalar field theories. In a single component model a consistent perturbation theory, formulated in the newtonian gauge, is possible only for $γ= 1$, which is the General Relativity limit. On the other hand, the addition of another canonical fluid component allows also to consider the case $γ\neq 1$.

Reconstruction of f(T) gravity according to holographic dark energy

We develop the reconstruction of a model of $f(T)$ gravity according to the holographic dark energy. $T$ is the torsion scalar and its initial value from the Teleparallel gravity is imposed for fitting the initial value of the function $f(T)$. The result shows a polynomial function for $f(T)$, and we also observe that, when $Ω_V\rightarrow 1$ at the future time, $ω_V$ may cross -1 for some values of the input parameter $b$. Another interesting aspect of the obtained model is that it provides the unification of the dark matter with the dark energy.

Static Anisotropic Solutions in f(T) Theory

In a previously work, we undertook a static and anisotropic content in $f(T)$ theory and obtained new spherically symmetric solutions considering a constant torsion and some particular conditions for the pressure. In this paper, still in the framework of $f(T)$ theory, new spherically symmetric solutions are obtained, first considering the general case of an isotropic fluid and later the anisotropic content case in which the generalized conditions for the matter content are considered such that the energy density, the radial and tangential pressures depend on the algebraic $f(T)$ and its derivative $f_{T}(T)$. Moreover, we obtain the algebraic function $f(T)$ through the reconstruction method for two cases and also study a polytropic model for the stellar structure.

New Black Holes Solutions in a Modified Gravity

We present a theory of modified gravity, inspired by the gauge theories, where the commutator algebra of covariant derivative gives us an added term with respect to the General Relativity, which represents the interaction of gravity with a substratum. New spherically symmetric solutions of this theory are obtained and can be view as solutions that reproduce, the mass, the charge, the cosmological constant and the Rindler acceleration, without coupling with the matter content, i.e., in the vacuum.

Scalar models for the generalized Chaplygin gas and the structure formation constraints

The generalized Chaplygin gas model represents an attempt to unify dark matter and dark energy. It is characterized by a fluid with an equation of state $p = - A/ρ^α$. It can be obtained from a generalization of the DBI action for a scalar, tachyonic field. At background level, this model gives very good results, but it suffers from many drawbacks at perturbative level. We show that, while for background analysis it is possible to consider any value for $α$, the perturbative analysis must be restricted to positive values of $α$. This restriction can be circumvented if the origin of the generalized Chaplygin gas is traced back to a self-interacting scalar field, instead of the DBI action. But, in doing so, the predictions coming from formation of large scale structures reduce the generalized Chaplygin gas model to a kind of quintessence model, and the unification scenario is lost, if the scalar field is the canonical one. However, if the unification condition is imposed from the beginning as a prior, the model may remain competitive. More interesting results, concerning the unification program, are obtained if a non-canonical self-interacting scalar field, inspired by Rastall's theory of gravity, is imposed. In this case, an agreement with the background tests is possible.

Testing the Rastall's theory using matter power spectrum

The Rastall's theory is a modification of the General Relativity theory leading to a different expression for the conservation law in the matter sector compared with the usual one. It has been argued recently that such a theory may have applications to the dark energy problem, since a pressureless fluid may lead to an accelerated universe. In the present work we confront the Rastall's theory with the power spectrum data. The results indicate a configuration that essentially reduces the Rastall's theory to General Relativity, unless the non-usual conservation law refers to a scalar field, situation where other configurations are eventually possible.
