Perturbed Proximal Gradient ADMM for Nonconvex Composite Optimization

This paper proposes a Perturbed Proximal Gradient ADMM (PPG-ADMM) framework for solving general nonconvex composite optimization problems, where the objective function consists of a smooth nonconvex term and a nonsmooth weakly convex term for both primal variables. Unlike existing ADMM-based methods which necessitate the function associated with the last updated primal variable to be smooth, the proposed PPG-ADMM removes this restriction by introducing a perturbation mechanism, which also helps reduce oscillations in the primal-dual updates, thereby improving convergence stability. By employing a linearization technique for the smooth term and the proximal operator for the nonsmooth and weakly convex term, the subproblems have closed-form solutions, significantly reducing computational complexity. The convergence is established through a technically constructed Lyapunov function, which guarantees sufficient descent and has a well-defined lower bound. With properly chosen parameters, PPG-ADMM converges to an $ε$-approximate stationary point at a sublinear convergence rate of $\mathcal{O}(1/\sqrt{K})$. Furthermore, by appropriately tuning the perturbation parameter $β$, it achieves an $ε$-stationary point, providing stronger optimality guarantees. We further apply PPG-ADMM to two practical distributed nonconvex composite optimization problems, i.e., the distributed partial consensus problem and the resource allocation problem. The algorithm operates in a fully decentralized manner without a central coordinating node. Finally, numerical experiments validate the effectiveness of PPG-ADMM, demonstrating its improved convergence performance.

Analytical Solution of The Two-Qubit Quantum Rabi Model

In this paper, an analytical solution of the two-qubit Rabi model for the general case is presented. Furthermore, a comparison between the information entropies and the Von Neumann entropy $(ρ_{A})$ is given for some special values of the qubit-photon coupling constants in case of the detuning parameters. It is demonstrated that oscillations of the occupation probabilities $ρ_{11}, ρ_{22}, ρ_{33}$ and $ρ_{44}$ are equivalent to the case of the spontaneous emission. The occupation probability $ρ_{11}$ reaches the case of sudden death, when the detuning parameters $Δ_{2}$ equals zero.

Locality and Classicality: role of entropic inequalities

The use of the so-called entropic inequalities is revisited in the light of new quantum correlation measures, specially nonlocality. We introduce the concept of {\it classicality} as the non-violation of these classical inequalities by quantum states of several multiqubit systems and compare it with the non-violation of Bell inequalities, that is, {\it locality}. We explore --numerically and analytically-- the relationship between several other quantum measures and discover the deep connection existing between them. The results are surprising due to the fact that these measures are very different in their nature and application. The cases for $n=2,3,4$ qubits and a generalization to systems with arbitrary number of qubits are studied here when discriminated according to their degree of mixture.

Multi-Qubit Dynamical Quantum Search Algorithm with Dissipation

We invoke an efficient search algorithms as a key challenge in multi-qubit quantum systems. An original algorithm called dynamical quantum search algorithm from which Grover algorithm is obtained at a specified time is presented. This algorithm is distinguished by accuracy in obtaining high probability of finding any marked state in a shorter time than Grover algorithm time. The algorithm performance can be improved with respect to the different values of the controlled phase. A new technique is used to generate the dynamical quantum gates in the presence of dissipation effect that helps in implementing the current algorithm.

New Designs of Universal Reversible Gate Library

We present new algorithms to synthesize exact universal reversible gate library for various types of gates and costs. We use the powerful algebraic software GAP for implementation and examination of our algorithms and the reversible logic synthesis problems have been reduced to group theory problems. It is shown that minimization of arbitrary cost functions of gates and orders of magnitude are faster than its previously counterparts for reversible logic synthesis. Experimental results show that a significant improvement over the previously proposed synthesis algorithm is obtained compared with the existing approaches to reversible logic synthesis.

New Index for Quantifying an Individual's Scientific Research Output

Classifying researchers according to the quality of their published work rather than the quantity is a curtail issue. We attempt to introduce a new formula of the percentage range to be used for evaluating qualitatively the researchers' production. The suggested equation depends on the number of the single-author published papers and their citations to be added as a new factor to the known h-index. These factors give an advantage and make a clear evidence of innovative authors and reduce the known h-index for authors who are gaining citations by adding their names to multi-author papers. It is shown that various dimensions of ethical integrity and originality will be effective in this new index. An important scenario arising from the analysis is shown in terms of examples. It refers to larger differences between the h- and the new index which comes from the whole work and the one comes from the single-author papers only, is shown.

Decoherent many-body dynamics of a nano- mechanical resonator coupled to charge qubits

The dynamics of charge qubits coupled to a nanomechanical resonator under influence of both a phonon bath in contact with the resonator and irreversible decay of the qubits is considered. The focus of our analysis is devoted to multi partite entanglement and the effects arising from the coupling to the reservoir. It is shown that despite losses, entanglement formation may still persist for relatively long times and it is especially robust against temperature dependence of the reservoir. Together with control of system parameters, the system may therefore be especially suited for quantum information processing. Furthermore, our results shed light on the evolution of open quantum many-body systems. For instance, due to intrinsic qubit-qubit couplings our model is related to a driven XY spin model.

Generation of three-qubit entangled states using coupled multi-quantum dots

We discuss a mechanism for generating a maximum entangled state (GHZ) in a coupled quantum dots system, based on analytical techniques. The reliable generation of such states is crucial for implementing solid-state based quantum information schemes. The signature originates from a remarkably weak field pulse or a far off-resonance effects which could be implemented using technology that is currently being developed. The results are illustrated with an application to a specific wide-gap semiconductor quantum dots system, like Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) based quantum dots.

Transient spectrum of a single-Cooper-pair box with binomial states

We present an analytical expression for the response of a transient spectrum to a single-Cooper-pair box biased by a classical voltage and irradiated by a single-mode quantized field. The exact solution of the model is obtained, by means of which we analyze the analytic form of the fluorescence spectrum using the transitions among the dressed states of the system. An interesting relation between the fluorescence spectrum and the dynamical evolution is found when the initial field states are prepared in binomial states.

Aspects of a Two-Level Atom in Squeezed Displaced Fock States

This paper presents some results on some aspects of the two-level atom interacting with a single-mode with the privileged field mode being in the squeezed displaced Fock state (SDFS). The exact results are employed to perform a careful investigation of the temporal evolution of the atomic inversion, entropy and phase distribution. It is shown that the interference between component states leads to non-classical oscillations in the photon number distribution. At mid revival time the field is almost in the pure state. We have briefly discussed the evolution of the Q function of the cavity field. The connection between the field entropy and the collapses and revivals of the atomic inversion has been established. We find that the phase probability distribution of the field reflect the collapses and revivals of the level occupation probabilities in most situations. The interaction brings about the symmetrical splitting of the phase probability distribution. The general conclusions reached are illustrated by numerical results.
