Model independent study for the anomalous quartic WWγγWWγγ couplings at Future Electron-Proton Colliders

The Large Hadron Electron Collider and the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron with high center-of-mass energy and luminosity allow to better understand the Standard Model and to examine new physics beyond the Standard Model in the electroweak sector. Multi-boson processes permit for a measurement of the gauge boson self-interactions of the Standard Model that can be used to determine the anomalous gauge boson couplings. For this purpose, we present a study of the process ep→νeγγjep \rightarrow ν_{e} γγj at the Large Hadron Electron Collider with center-of-mass energies of 1.30, 1.98 TeV and at the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron with center-of-mass energies of 7.07, 10 TeV to interpret the anomalous quartic WWγγWWγγ gauge couplings using a model independent way in the framework of effective field theory. We obtain the sensitivity limits at 95%95\% Confidence Level on 13 different anomalous couplings arising from dimension-8 operators. The best limit in fMi/Λ4f_{Mi}/Λ^{4} (i=0,1,2,3,4,5,7i=0,1,2,3,4,5,7) parameters is obtained for fM2/Λ4f_{M2}/Λ^{4} parameter while the best sensitivity derived on fTi/Λ4f_{Ti}/Λ^{4} (i=0,1,2,5,6,7i=0,1,2,5,6,7) parameters is obtained for fT5/Λ4f_{T5}/Λ^{4}. In addition, this study is the first report on the anomalous quartic couplings determined by effective Lagrangians at epep colliders.

Sensitivity physics expected to the measurement of the quartic WWγγWWγγ couplings at the LHeC and the FCC-he

We explore the physics expected sensitivity at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he) to search for the anomalous quartic WWγγWWγγ couplings in single WW-boson production in association with a photon. We study the process ep→e−γ∗p→eWγq′Xep \to e^-γ^* p \to eWγq'X via the subprocess γ∗q→Wγq′γ^* q \to Wγq'. The center-of-mass energies and luminosities of the LHeC are assumed to be s=1.30,1.98\sqrt{s}=1.30, 1.98 TeV, L=10−100{\cal L}=10-100 fb−1{\rm fb^{-1} } and for the FCC-he s=3.46,5.29\sqrt{s}=3.46, 5.29 TeV and L=100−1000{\cal L}=100-1000 fb−1{\rm fb^{-1} }. With these energies and luminosities, we estimate bounds on the anomalous quartic WWγγWWγγ couplings at 95%95\% C.L., which can be an order of magnitude stringent than the experimental limits report by ATLAS and CMS Collaborations at the LHC.

Bounds on the non-standard W+W−γW^+W^-γ couplings at the LHeC and the FCC-he

We examine the potential of the e−p→e−γ∗p→e−W−q′Xe^-p \to e^-γ^*p \to e^-W^-q'X (γ∗γ^* is Weizsacker-Willams photon) reaction to probe the non-standard W+W−γW^+W^-γ couplings at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he). We find 95%95\% confidence level bounds on the anomalous coupling ΔκγΔκ_γ and λγλ_γ parameters in the view of effective Lagrangian approach with various values of the integrated luminosity. We assume center-of-mass energies of the electron-proton system s=1.30,1.98,7.07,10TeV\sqrt{s}= 1.30, 1.98, 7.07, 10\hspace{0.8mm}{\rm TeV} and luminosities L=10−1000fb−1{\cal L} = 10-1000 \hspace{0.8mm}{\rm fb^{-1}}. The best limits obtained from the process e−p→e−γ∗p→e−W−q′Xe^-p \to e^-γ^*p \to e^-W^-q'X on the anomalous ΔκγΔκ_γ and λγλ_γ couplings are Δκγ=∣0.00069∣Δκ_γ= |0.00069| and λγ=[−0.0099,0.0054]λ_γ= [-0.0099, 0.0054]. These bounds show that the process under consideration is a good prospect for the searching of the non-standard ΔκγΔκ_γ and λγλ_γ couplings at the LHeC and the FCC-he. In addition, our results provide complementary information on other results for ΔκγΔκ_γ and λγλ_γ couplings.

Model-independent sensitivity estimates for the electromagnetic dipole moments of the top quark at the Large Hadron Collider and beyond

As the heaviest known fundamental particle, the top quark ensures testing of the Standard Model and occupies a significant role in a lot of theories of new physics beyond the Standard Model. Up to now, the top quark has been only generated at the Tevatron and the Large Hadron Collider. However, one of the most important tasks of the physics program at the Large Hadron Collider is the investigation of the anomalous top quark interactions. In addition, the production of single top quarks, though rarer than production in pairs, presents us a different way to study the top quark produced via the electroweak interaction. This makes single top quark production an important signature for studying the properties of the top quark. Hence, we examine the anomalous ttˉγt\bar{t}γ interactions to investigate limits on the anomalous aAa_A and aVa_V couplings through single top quark production of the process pp→pγ∗p→ptWXpp\rightarrow p γ^{*} p \rightarrow p t W X at the Large Hadron Collider, the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider and High Energy Large Hadron Collider. The best limits obtained on the anomalous aAa_A and aVa_V couplings through the subprocess γ∗b→Wtγ^{*} b \rightarrow W t at the High Energy Large Hadron Collider with Lint=15L_{int}=15 ab−1^{-1} at 68%68\% Confidence Level are found to be ∣aA∣=0.0590|a_{A}|=0.0590 and aV=[−0.3202;0.0108]a_{V}=[-0.3202;0.0108]. Therefore, we understand that γ∗pγ^{*} p collisions at the High Energy Large Hadron Collider improves the sensitivity limits of the anomalous coupling parameters according to previous studies.

Graviton production through photon-quark scattering at the LHC

We have investigated real graviton emission in the ADD and RS model of extra dimensions through the photoproduction process pp-> p gamma p-> pGqX at the LHC. We have considered all contributions from the subprocesses gamma q -> G q, where q=u,d,c,s,b,anti-u,anti-d, anti-c, anti-s, anti-b quark. The constraints on model parameters of the ADD and RS model of extra dimensions have been calculated. During numerical calculations we have taken account of 3, 4, 5 and 6 large extra dimensional scenarios. The constraints on RS model parameters have been calculated by considering G -> gamma gamma, e^- e^+, mu^- mu^+ decay channels of the graviton.

Improved bounds on the dipole moments of the tau-neutrino at high-energy γ∗e−γ^* e^- and γ∗γ∗γ^* γ^* collisions: ILC and CLIC

In this work we study the potential of the processes e+e−→e+γ∗e−→e+τνˉτνee^+e^- \to e^+γ^* e^- \to e^+τ\barν_τν_e and e+e−→e+γ∗γ∗e−→e+ντνˉτe−e^+e^- \to e^+γ^* γ^* e^- \to e^+ν_τ\barν_τe^- at a future high-energy and high-luminosity linear electron positron collider, such as the ILC and CLIC to study the sensibility on the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau-neutrino. For integrated luminosity of 590\hspace{1mm}fb−1fb^{-1} and center-of-mass energy of 3\hspace{1mm}TeVTeV, we derive 95%C.L.95 \% \hspace{1mm}C. L. limits on the dipole moments: μντ≤1.44×10−6μBμ_{ν_τ}\leq 1.44 \times 10^{-6}μ_B and dντ≤2.78×10−17ecmd_{ν_τ}\leq 2.78 \times 10^{-17}\hspace{1mm} e\hspace{0.5mm} cm in the γ∗e−γ^* e^- collision mode and of μντ≤3.4×10−7μBμ_{ν_τ}\leq 3.4 \times 10^{-7}μ_B and dντ≤6.56×10−18ecmd_{ν_τ}\leq 6.56 \times 10^{-18}\hspace{1mm} e\hspace{0.5mm}cm with the γ∗γ∗γ^*γ^* collision mode, improving the existing limits.

Anomalous interactions of the top quark with photon via flavor changing neutral currents at the CLIC

Photon-photon reaction provides an excellent opportunity to isolate the tqγtqγ vertex. For this purpose, we have examined the potential of the e−e+→e−γ∗γ∗e+→e−tqˉe+→e−Wbqˉe+e^{-}e^{+}\rightarrow e^{-}γ^{*}γ^{*}e^{+}\rightarrow e^{-}t\bar{q}e^{+}\rightarrow e^{-}W b\bar{q}e^{+} (γ∗γ^{*} is the Weizsacker-Williams photon and q=u,cq=u,c) process to investigate the anomalous tqγtqγ couplings in γ∗γ∗γ^{*}γ^{*} collisions at the CLIC. We have obtained 95%95\% confidence level limits on the anomalous couplings for various values of the center-of-mass energy and integrated luminosity. We have shown that the limit on anomalous κtqγκ_{tqγ} coupling is more restricted with respect to current experimental limits.

Probe of electromagnetic moments of the tau lepton in gamma-gamma collisions at the CLIC

We have investigated the electromagnetic moments of the tau lepton in e+e−→e+γ∗γ∗e−→e+ττˉe−e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} γ^{*} e^{-}\rightarrow e^{+}τ\barτe^{-} process at the CLIC. We have obtained 95% confidence level bounds on the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments for various values of the integrated luminosity and the center of mass energy. We have shown that the e+e−→e+γ∗γ∗e−→e+ττˉe−e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} γ^{*} e^{-}\rightarrow e^{+}τ\barτe^{-} process at the CLIC leads to a remarkable improvement in the existing experimental bounds on the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments.

Study of anomalous WWγγWWγγ coupling sensitivity at the Compact Linear Collider

The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is one of the most popular linear colliders, planned to realize e−e+e^{-}e^{+} collisions in three energy stages of 0.50.5, 1.51.5, and 33 TeV. It has an energy scale never reached by any existing lepton collider. In this study, we present the sensitivity studies of the WWγγWWγγ anomalous quartic gauge boson coupling (aQGC) in the three different processes e+e−→W−W+γe^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow W^{-} W^{+}γ, e+e−→e+γ∗e−→e+W−γνee^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+} W^{-} γν_{e}, and e+e−→e+γ∗γ∗e−→e+W−W+e−e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} γ^{*} e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+} W^{-} W^{+} e^{-} at the CLIC. We obtained 95%95\% confidence level limits on the aQGC parameters a0Λ2\frac{a_{0}}{Λ^{2}} and acΛ2\frac{a_{c}}{Λ^{2}} at various integrated luminosities and center-of-mass energies. The best limits obtained on the aQGCs a0Λ2\frac{a_{0}}{Λ^{2}} and acΛ2\frac{a_{c}}{Λ^{2}} in these processes are at the order of 10−210^{-2} TeV−2^{-2} and 10−110^{-1} TeV−2^{-2}, respectively.

Probe of extra dimensions in gamma q->gamma q at the LHC

We have examined TeV scale effects of extra spatial dimensions through the processes gamma q-> gamma q where q=u,d,c,s,b, anti-u, anti-d, anti-c, anti-s, anti-b. These processes have been treated in a photon-proton collision via the main reaction pp-> p gamma p-> p gamma qX at the LHC. We have employed equivalent photon approximation for incoming photon beams and performed statistical analysis for various forward detector acceptances.

The effect of electromagnetic properties of neutrinos on the photon-neutrino decoupling temperature

We examine the impact of electromagnetic properties of neutrinos on the annihilation of relic neutrinos with ultra high energy cosmic neutrinos for the ννˉ→γγν\barν\to γγ process. For this process, photon-neutrino decoupling temperature is calculated via effective lagrangian model beyond the standard model. We find that photon-neutrino decoupling temperature can be importantly reduced below the QCD phase transition with the model independent analysis defining electromagnetic properties of neutrinos.

The impact of excited neutrinos on ννˉ→γγν\barν\to γγ process

We examine the effect of excited neutrinos on the annihilation of relic neutrinos with ultra high energy cosmic neutrinos for the ννˉ→γγν\barν\to γγ process. The contribution of the excited neutrinos to the neutrino-photon decoupling temperature are calculated. We see that photon-neutrino decoupling temperature can be significantly reduced below the obtained value of the Standard Model with the impact of excited neutrinos.

Search for electromagnetic properties of the neutrinos at the LHC

Exclusive production of neutrinos via photon-photon fusion provides an excellent opportunity to probe electromagnetic properties of the neutrinos at the LHC. We explore the potential of processes pp-> p gamma gamma p -> p nu anti-nu p and pp -> p gamma gamma p -> p nu anti-nu Z p to probe neutrino-photon and neutrino-two photon couplings. We show that these reactions provide more than seven orders of magnitude improvement in neutrino-two photon couplings compared to LEP limits.
