Future projections on the anomalous WWγγWWγγ couplings in hadron-hadron interactions at the FCC-hh

We carry out a study in the approach of a dimension-8 effective field theory on the anomalous quartic WWγγWWγγ couplings that arise from the process pp→Wγγpp \to Wγγ at the Future Circular Collider-hadron hadron (FCC-hh). The process is sensitive to the WWγγWWγγ vertex, and future projections on the anomalous fM,i/Λ4f_ {M,i}/Λ^4 and fT,j/Λ4 f_ {T,j}/Λ^4 couplings can be put by measurements of WγγWγγ production. We illustrate the physics opportunities and reach of the FCC-hh operating for a high integrated luminosity scenario of L=1,5,10,30{\cal L}=1, 5, 10, 30 ab−1{\rm ab}^{-1} of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of s=100\sqrt{s}=100 TeV and systematic uncertainties of δsys=0%,3%,5%,10%δ_{sys}=0\%, 3\%, 5\%, 10\%. Production cross-sections of the signal and the sensitivity constraints on the anomalous fM,i/Λ4f_ {M,i}/Λ^4 and fT,j/Λ4 f_ {T,j}/Λ^4 couplings at 95%95\% C.L. are identified through the leptonic and hadronic decay modes of the WW-boson. The FCC-hh sensitivity on these anomalous couplings is expected might reach up to the order of magnitude O(10−4−101){\cal O}(10^{-4}-10^1). These sensitivity perspectives indicate that the pp→Wγγpp \to Wγγ channel at the FCC-hh has a greater potential to search for the anomalous quartic WWγγWWγγ couplings and to search for new physics than present colliders.

Search for the anomalous ZZγZZγ and ZγγZγγ couplings via ννγννγ production at the CLIC

The non-Abelian gauge structure of the Standard Model implies the presence of the multi-boson self-interactions. Precise measurements in experimental and theoretical studies of these interactions allow not only testing the nature of the Standard Model but also new physics contribution coming from the beyond Standard Model. These interactions can be examined using a model-independent way in effective theory approach that composes the motivation part of this study. In this paper, we examine the anomalous ZZγZZγ and ZγγZγγ neutral triple gauge couplings via the process e−e+→Zγe^{-} e^{+}\to Zγ for the neutrino-antineutrino pair decay of ZZ boson. It has performed with both unpolarized and polarized electron beams at the Compact Linear Collider with s=3\sqrt{s}= 3 TeV. The study focused on CPCP-conserving CB~W/Λ4C_{\widetilde{B}W}/{Λ^4} and CPCP-violating CBB/Λ4C_{BB}/{Λ^4}, CBW/Λ4C_{BW}/{Λ^4}, CWW/Λ4C_{WW}/{Λ^4} couplings. Obtained sensitivities on the anomalous neutral triple gauge couplings with 95%95\% Confidence Level are given with systematic uncertainties of 0%0\%, 5%5\% and 10%10\% for unpolarized, −80%-80\% and 80%80\% polarized electron beams with integrated luminosities of Lint=5{\cal L}_{\text{int}}=5 ab−1\rm ab^{-1}, Lint=4{\cal L}_{\text{int}}=4 ab−1\rm ab^{-1} and Lint=1{\cal L}_{\text{int}}=1 ab−1\rm ab^{-1}, respectively. Comparing the latest experimental limits and related phenomenological studies, our results on the anomalous neutral gauge couplings are set more stringent sensitivity between 10-30 times of magnitude.

Sensitivity analysis for the anomalous W+W−γW^+W^-γ couplings at the LHeC and the FCC-he

We study the anomalous W+W−γW^+W^-γ couplings in performing the production of the W-pair through the process e−p → e−γ∗γ∗p → e−W+W−pe^- p\,\rightarrow\,e^-γ^*γ^* p\,\rightarrow\,e^-W^+W^-p at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he). We examine the pure hadronic, the semi-leptonic and the pure leptonic decay channels of the produced W-pair. We assume the center-of-mass energies of s=1.30\sqrt{s}=1.30 and 1.981.98 TeV and the integrated luminosities of 10-100 fb−1^{-1} for the LHeC and the center-of-mass energies of s=3.46\sqrt{s}=3.46 and 5.295.29 TeV and the integrated luminosities of 100-2000 fb−1^{-1} for the FCC-he. The best limits at 95%\% confidence level obtained for the anomalous couplings ΔκγΔκ_γ and λγλ_γ are Δκγ=[−0.00208;0.00206]Δκ_γ=[-0.00208; 0.00206] and λγ=[−0.00174;0.00834]λ_γ=[-0.00174; 0.00834]. By comparing these limits with the experimental limits, we present the potentials of the process and future epep colliders.

Study on the anomalous quartic W+W−γγW^+W^-γγ couplings of electroweak bosons in e−pe^-p collisions at the LHeC and the FCC-he

In this paper, a study is carried out on the e−p→e−γ∗p→pW+γνee^-p \to e^-γ^* p \to p W^+γν_e production to probe quartic W+W−γγW^+W^-γγ couplings using 10, 100 fb−1{\rm fb^{-1}} of e−pe^-p collisions data at s\sqrt{s}= 1.30, 1.98 GeV at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and 100, 1000 fb−1{\rm fb^{-1}} with s\sqrt{s}= 3.46, 5.29 GeV at the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he). Production cross-sections are determined for both at leptonic and hadronic decay channel of the WW-boson. With the data from future e−pe^-p colliders, it is possible to obtain sensitivity measures at 95%95\% C.L. on the anomalous fM,i/Λ4f_ {M,i}/Λ^4 and fT,i/Λ4 f_ {T,i}/Λ^4 couplings which are competitive with the limits obtained by the LHC, as well as with others limits reported in the literature. The production mode e−p→e−γ∗p→pW+γνee^-p \to e^-γ^* p \to p W^+γν_e in e−pe^-p collisions offers a window for study the quartic W+W−γγW^+W^-γγ electroweak bosons couplings at the LHeC and the FCC-he, which provides a much cleaner collision environment than the LHC.

Model independent study for the anomalous W+W−γW^+W^-γ couplings at the future lepton-hadron colliders

The triple gauge couplings are completely defined by the non-Abelian gauge nature of the Standard Model, precision measurements of these couplings at the present and future colliders in this way provide a substantial opportunity to test the gauge structure of the Standard Model. Also, measurements of these couplings are sensitive to new physics beyond the Standard Model. In this context, these couplings can be described by an effective Lagrangian. Here, we have studied the potential of the future μpμp colliders on the anomalous WWγWWγ interactions via the subprocess γ∗p → W−νμγ^* p\,\rightarrow\,W^-ν_μ. This subprocess has been generated through the main process μp → μγ∗p → W−νμpμp\,\rightarrow\,μγ^* p\,\rightarrow\,W^-ν_μp at the LHC-μpμp, the FCC-μpμp and the SPPC-μpμp. For these reasons, the total cross sections have been obtained as a function of the anomalous WWγWWγ couplings. Also, we have been calculated the best constraints on cWWWc_{WWW}, cWc_{W} and cBc_{B} parameters that define the anomalous WWγWWγ interactions.

Anomalous quartic WWγγWWγγ couplings in epep collisions at the LHeC and the FCC-he

We conducted a study on measuring W+W−W^+W^- production and on the sensitivity limits at 95%95\% Confidence Level on thirteen anomalous couplings obtained by dimension-8 operators which are related to the anomalous quartic WWγγWWγγ couplings. We consider the main e−p→e−γ∗γ∗p→e−W+W−pe^-p \to e^-γ^*γ^*p \to e^-W^+W^-p reaction with the sub-process γ∗γ∗→W+W−γ^*γ^* \to W^+W^- at the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider-hadron electron (FCC-he). For the LHeC, energies of the e−e^- beams are taken to be Ee=60E_e =60 and 140 GeV and the energy of the pp beams is taken to be Ep=7E_p = 7 TeV. For the FCC-he, energies of the e−e^- beams are taken to be Ee=60E_e =60 and 140 GeV and the energy of the pp beams is taken to be Ep=50E_p = 50 TeV, respectively. It is interesting to notice that the LHeC and the FCC-he will lead to model-independent limits on the anomalous quartic WWγγWWγγ couplings which are one order of magnitude stringent than the CMS Collaboration limits, in addition to being competitive with other limits reported in the literature.

Probing model-independent limits on W+W−γW^+W^-γ triple gauge boson vertex at the LHeC and the FCC-he

We study the cross-section of production of a single W−W^- boson in association with a neutrino through the process e−p→e−γ∗p→νeW−pe^-p \to e^-γ^*p \to ν_eW^- p. Additionally, we obtain the anomalous couplings ΔκγΔκ_γ and λγλ_γ of the W+W−γW^+W^-γ vertex at the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider Hadron-Electron (FCC-he). The impact of the polarized beam due to the electron is also analyzed. Our best limits for ΔκγΔκ_γ and λγλ_γ at the 95%95\% C.L. are: Δκγ=±0.0017Δκ_γ= \pm 0.0017, λγ=±0.0053λ_γ= \pm 0.0053 (unpolarized electron beam) and Δκγ=±0.0013Δκ_γ= \pm 0.0013, λγ=±0.0046λ_γ= \pm 0.0046 (polarized electron beam) identifying the W−W^- boson through the hadronic decay channel. In addition, the e−γ∗→νeW−e^-γ^* \to ν_eW^- collision is one of the clean, pure and simple process to investigate the W+W−γW^+W^-γ coupling without the complications of QCD backgrounds.

Anomalous WWγWWγ couplings with beam polarization at the Compact Linear Collider

We study the anomalous WWγWWγ couplings at the Compact Linear Collider through the processes e+e−→W+W−e^{+}e^{-}\to W^+W^-, e−e+→e−γ∗e+→e+νeW−e^{-}e^{+} \to e^{-} γ^{*} e^{+} \to e^{+} ν_{e} W^- and e−e+→e−γ∗γ∗e+→e−W+W−e+e^{-}e^{+}\to e^{-} γ^{*} γ^{*} e^{+} \to e^{-} W^+ W^- e^{+} (γ∗ (γ^{*} is the Weizsacker-Williams photon). We give the 95\% confidence level limits for unpolarized and polarized electron (positron) beam on the anomalous couplings for various values of the integrated luminosities and center-of-mass energies. We show that the obtained limits on the anomalous couplings through these processes can highly improve the current experimental limits. In addition, our limits with beam polarization are approximately two times better than the unpolarized case.

Search for anomalous quartic ZZγγZZγγ couplings in photon-photon collisions

The self-couplings of the electroweak gauge bosons are completely specified by the non-Abelian gauge nature of the Standard Model (SM). The direct study of these couplings provides a significant opportunity to test the validity of the SM and the existence of new physics beyond the SM up to the high energy scale. For this reason, we investigate the potential of the processes γγ→ZZγγ\rightarrow ZZ, e−γ→e−γ∗γ→e−Z Ze^{-}γ\rightarrow e^{-}γ^{*}γ\rightarrow e^{-}Z\, Z and e+e−→e+γ∗γ∗e−→e+ Z Z e−e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}γ^{*} γ^{*} e^{-} \rightarrow e^{+}\, Z\, Z\, e^{-} to examine the anomalous quartic couplings of ZZγγZZγγ vertex at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) with center-of-mass energy 33 TeV. We calculate 95%95\% confidence level sensitivities on the dimension-8 parameters with various values of the integrated luminosity. We show that the best bounds on the anomalous fM2Λ4\frac{f_{M2}}{Λ^{4}}, fM3Λ4\frac{f_{M3}}{Λ^{4}}, fT0Λ4\frac{f_{T0}}{Λ^4} and fT9Λ4\frac{f_{T9}}{Λ^4} couplings arise from γγ→ZZγγ\rightarrow ZZ process among those three processes at center-of-mass energy of 3 TeV and integrated luminosity of Lint=2000L_{int}=2000 fb−1^{-1} are found to be [−3.30;3.30]×10−3[-3.30;3.30]\times 10 ^{-3} TeV−4^{-4}, [−1.20;1.20]×10−2[-1.20;1.20]\times 10 ^{-2} TeV−4^{-4}, [−3.40;3.40]×10−3[-3.40;3.40]\times 10 ^{-3} TeV−4^{-4} and [−1.80;1.80]×10−3[-1.80;1.80]\times 10 ^{-3} TeV−4^{-4}, respectively.

Analysis of anomalous quartic WWZγWWZγ couplings in γpγp collision at the LHC

Gauge boson self-couplings are exactly determined by the non-Abelian gauge nature of the Standard Model (SM), thus precision measurements of these couplings at the LHC provide an important opportunity to test the gauge structure of the SM and the spontaneous symmetry breaking mechanism. It is a common way to examine the physics of anomalous quartic gauge boson couplings via effective Lagrangian method. In this work, we investigate the potential of the process pp→pγp→pWZqXpp\rightarrow pγp\rightarrow p W Z q X to analyze anomalous quartic WWZγWWZγ couplings by two different CP-violating and CP-conserving effective Lagrangians at the LHC. We calculate 95%95\% confidence level limits on the anomalous coupling parameters with various values of the integrated luminosity. Our numerical results show that the best limits obtained on the anomalous couplings k0WΛ2\frac{k_{0}^{W}}{Λ^{2}}, kcWΛ2\frac{k_{c}^{W}}{Λ^{2}}, k2mΛ2\frac{k_{2}^{m}}{Λ^{2}} and anΛ2\frac{a_{n}}{Λ^{2}} at s=14\sqrt{s}=14 TeV and an integrated luminosity of Lint=100L_{int}=100 fb−1^{-1} are [−1.37; 1.37]×10−6[-1.37;\, 1.37]\times 10^{-6} GeV−2^{-2}, [−1.88; 1.88]×10−6[-1.88; \, 1.88]\times 10^{-6} GeV−2^{-2}, [−6.55; 6.55]×10−7[-6.55; \, 6.55]\times 10^{-7} GeV−2^{-2} and [−2.21; 2.21]×10−6[-2.21;\,2.21]\times 10^{-6} GeV−2^{-2}, respectively. Thus, γpγp mode of photon-induced reactions at the LHC highly improves the sensitivity limits of the anomalous coupling parameters k0WΛ2\frac{k_{0}^{W}}{Λ^{2}}, kcWΛ2\frac{k_{c}^{W}}{Λ^{2}}, k2mΛ2\frac{k_{2}^{m}}{Λ^{2}} and anΛ2\frac{a_{n}}{Λ^{2}}.
