VMO spaces associated with Neumann Laplacian

In this paper, we establish several different characterizations of the vanishing mean oscillation space associated with Neumann Laplacian ΔNΔ_N, written VMOΔN(Rn){\rm VMO}_{Δ_N}(\mathbb{R}^n). We first describe it with the classical VMO(Rn){\rm VMO}(\mathbb{R}^n) and certain VMO{\rm VMO} on the half-spaces. Then we demonstrate that VMOΔN(Rn){\rm VMO}_{Δ_N}(\mathbb{R}^n) is actually BMOΔN(Rn){\rm BMO}_{Δ_N}(\mathbb{R}^n)-closure of the space of the smooth functions with compact supports. Beyond that, it can be characterized in terms of compact commutators of Riesz transforms and fractional integral operators associated to the Neumann Laplacian. Additionally, by means of the functional analysis, we obtain the duality between certain VMO{\rm VMO} and the corresponding Hardy spaces on the half-spaces. Finally, we present an useful approximation for BMO{\rm BMO} functions on the space of homogeneous type, which can be applied to our argument and otherwhere.

Fractional type Marcinkiewicz integral operators associated to surfaces

In this paper, we discuss the boundedness of the fractional type Marcinkiewicz integral operators associated to surfaces, and extend a result given by Chen, Fan and Ying in 2002. They showed that under certain conditions the fractional type Marcinkiewicz integral operators are bounded from the Triebel-Lizorkin spaces F˙pqα(Rn)\dot F_{pq}^α({\mathbb R}^n) to Lp(Rn)L^p({\mathbb R}^n). Recently the second author, together with Xue and Yan, greatly weakened their assumptions. In this paper, we extend their results to the case where the operators are associated to the surfaces of the form {x=ϕ(∣y∣)y/∣y∣}⊂Rn×(Rn∖{0})\{x=ϕ(|y|)y/|y|\} \subset {\mathbb R}^n \times ({\mathbb R}^n \setminus \{0\}). To prove our result, we discuss a characterization of the homogeneous Triebel-Lizorkin spaces in terms of lacunary sequences.
