Free fermionic probability theory and K-theoretic Schubert calculus

For each of the four particle processes given by Dieker and Warren [arXiv:0707.1843], we show the $n$-step transition kernels are given by the (dual) (weak) refined symmetric Grothendieck functions up to a simple overall factor. We do so by encoding the particle dynamics as the basis of free fermions first introduced by the first author, which we translate into deformed Schur operators acting on partitions. We provide a direct combinatorial proof of this relationship in each case, where the defining tableaux naturally describe the particle motions.

A class of partition functions associated with $E_{τ,η}(gl_3)$ by Izergin-Korepin analysis

Recently, a class of partition functions associated with higher rank rational and trigonometric integrable models were introduced by Foda and Manabe. We use the dynamical $R$-matrix of the elliptic quantum group $E_{τ,η}(gl_3)$ to introduce an elliptic analogue of the partition functions associated with $E_{τ,η}(gl_3)$. We investigate the partition functions of Foda-Manabe type by developing a nested version of the elliptic Izergin-Korepin analysis, and present the explicit forms as symmetrization of multivariable elliptic functions. We show that special cases are essentially the elliptic weights functions introduced in the works by Rimányi-Tarasov-Varchenko, Konno, Felder-Rimányi-Varchenko.

Integrability approach to Feher-Nemethi-Rimanyi-Guo-Sun type identities for factorial Grothendieck polynomials

Recently, Guo and Sun derived an identity for factorial Grothendieck polynomials which is a generalization of the one for Schur polynomials by Fehér, Némethi and Rimányi. We analyze the identity from the point of view of quantum integrability, based on the correspondence between the wavefunctions of a five-vertex model and the Grothendieck polynomials. We give another proof using the quantum inverse scattering method. We also apply the same idea and technique to derive an identity for factorial Grothendieck polynomials for rectangular Young diagrams. Combining with the Guo-Sun identity, we get a duality formula. We also discuss a $q$-deformation of the Guo-Sun identity.

Refined dual Grothendieck polynomials, integrability, and the Schur measure

We construct a vertex model whose partition function is a refined dual Grothendieck polynomial, where the states are interpreted as nonintersecting lattice paths. Using this, we show refined dual Grothendieck polynomials are multi-Schur functions and give a number of identities, including a Littlewood and Cauchy(-Littlewood) identity. We then refine Yeliussizov's connection between dual Grothendieck polynomials and the last passage percolation (LPP) stochastic process discussed by Johansson. By refining algebraic techniques of Johansson, we show Jacobi-Trudi formulas for skew refined dual Grothendieck polynomials conjectured by Grinberg and recover a relation between LPP and the Schur process due to Baik and Rains. Lastly, we extend our vertex model techniques to show some identities for refined Grothendieck polynomials, including a Jacobi-Trudi formula.

Izergin-Korepin analysis on the wavefunctions of the $U_q(sl_2)$ six-vertex model with reflecting end

We extend the recently developed Izergin-Korepin analysis on the wavefunctions of the $U_q(sl_2)$ six-vertex model to the reflecting boundary conditions. Based on the Izergin-Korepin analysis, we determine the exact forms of the symmetric functions which represent the wavefunctions and its dual. Comparison of the symmetric functions with the coordinate Bethe ansatz wavefunctions for the open XXZ chain by Alcaraz-Barber-Batchelor-Baxter-Quispel is also made. As an application, we derive algebraic identities for the symmetric functions by combining the results with the determinant formula of the domain wall boundary partition function of the six-vertex model with reflecting end.

Nonstandard representations of type C affine Hecke algebra from K-operators

We construct nonstandard finite-dimensional representations of type C affine Hecke algebra from the viewpoint of quantum integrable models. There exists two classes of nonstandard solutions to the Yang-Baxter equation called the Cremmer-Gervais and Jordanian R-matrices. These R-matrices also satisfy the Hecke-relation, thus can be used to construct nonstandard finite-dimensional representations of type A affine Hecke algebra. We construct the corresponding nonstandard representations for type C affine Hecke algebra by explicitly constructing solutions to the reflection equation under the Hecke relation. We achieve this by taking the finite-dimensional representations and deBaxterizing the K-operators acting on the infinite-dimensional function space, taking advantage of the fact that the Cremmer-Gervais and Jordanian R-matrices can be obtained from the R-operator.

Partition functions of integrable lattice models and combinatorics of symmetric polynomials

We review and present new studies on the relation between the partition functions of integrable lattice models and symmetric polynomials, and its combinatorial representation theory based on the correspondence, including our work. In particular, we examine the correspondence between the wavefunctions of the XXZ type, Felderhof type and the boson type integrable models and symmetric polynomials such as the Schur, Grothendieck and symplectic Schur functions. We also give a brief report of our work on generalizing the correspondence between the Felderhof models and factorial Schur and symplectic Schur functions.

Quantum integrable combinatorics of Schur polynomials

We examine and present new combinatorics for the Schur polynomials from the viewpoint of quantum integrability. We introduce and analyze an integrable six-vertex model which can be viewed as a certain degeneration model from a t-deformed boson model. By a detailed analysis of the wavefunction from the quantum inverse scattering method, we present a novel combinatorial formula which expresses the Schur polynomials by using an additional parameter, which is in the same sense but different from the Tokuyama formula. We also give an algebraic analytic proof for the Cauchy identity and make applications of the domain wall boundary partition functions to the enumeration of alternating sign matrices.

K-theoretic boson-fermion correspondence and melting crystals

We study non-Hermitian integrable fermion and boson systems from the perspectives of Grothendieck polynomials. The models considered in this article are the five-vertex model as a fermion system and the non-Hermitian phase model as a boson system. Both of the models are characterized by the different solutions satisfying the same Yang-Baxter relation. From our previous works on the identification between the wavefunctions of the five-vertex model and Grothendieck polynomials, we introduce skew Grothendieck polynomials, and derive the addition theorem among them. Using these relations, we derive the wavefunctions of the non-Hermitian phase model as a determinant form which can also be expressed as the Grothendieck polynomials. Namely, we establish a K-theoretic boson-fermion correspondence at the level of wavefunctions. As a by-product, the partition function of the statistical mechanical model of a 3D melting crystal is exactly calculated by use of the scalar products of the wavefunctions of the phase model. The resultant expression can be regarded as a K-theoretic generalization of the MacMahon function describing the generating function of the plane partitions, which interpolates the generating functions of two-dimensional and three-dimensional Young diagrams.

Absence of finite size correction at the combinatorial point of the integrable higher spin XXZ chain

We investigate the integrable higher spin XXZ chain at the Razumov-Stroganov point. We present a method to evaluate the exact value of the eigenvalue which is conjectured to correspond to the groundstate of the Hamiltonian for finite size chain from the Baxter Q operator. This allows us to examine the exact total energy difference between different number of total sites, from which we find strong evidence for the absence of finite size correction to the groundstate energy.

On Baxter's Q operator of the higher spin XXZ chain at the Razumov-Stroganov point

Based on the conjecture for the exact eigenvalue of the transfer matrix of the higher half-integer spin XXZ chain at the Razumov-Stroganov point, we evaluate the corresponding Baxter's Q operator in closed form by solving the TQ equation. The combination of the Q operators on the "right side" and the "wrong side" is shown to produce the hierarchy of functional relations.

Vertex models, TASEP and Grothendieck polynomials

We examine the wavefunctions and their scalar products of a one-parameter family of integrable five vertex models. At a special point of the parameter, the model investigated is related to an irreversible interacting stochastic particle system the so-called totally asymmetric simple exclusion process (TASEP). By combining the quantum inverse scattering method with a matrix product representation of the wavefunctions, the on/off-shell wavefunctions of the five vertex models are represented as a certain determinant form. Up to some normalization factors, we find the wavefunctions are given by Grothendieck polynomials, which are a one-parameter deformation of Schur polynomials. Introducing a dual version of the Grothendieck polynomials, and utilizing the determinant representation for the scalar products of the wavefunctions, we derive a generalized Cauchy identity satisfied by the Grothendieck polynomials and their duals. Several representation theoretical formulae for Grothendieck polynomials are also presented. As a byproduct, the relaxation dynamics such as Green functions for the periodic TASEP are found to be described in terms of Grothendieck polynomials.

Entanglement Properties of a Higher-Integer-Spin AKLT Model with Quantum Group Symmetry

We study the entanglement properties of a higher-integer-spin Affleck-Kennedy-Lieb-Tasaki model with quantum group symmetry in the periodic boundary condition. We exactly calculate the finite size correction terms of the entanglement entropies from the double scaling limit. We also evaluate the geometric entanglement, which serves as another measure for entanglement. We find the geometric entanglement reaches its maximum at the isotropic point, and decreases with the increase of the anisotropy. This behavior is similar to that of the entanglement entropies.

Exact Relaxation Dynamics in the Totally Asymmetric Simple Exclusion Process

The relaxation dynamics of the one-dimensional totally asymmetric simple exclusion process on a ring is considered in the case of step initial condition. Analyzing the time evolution of the local particle densities and currents by the Bethe ansatz method, we examine their full relaxation dynamics. As a result, we observe peculiar behaviors, such as the emergence of a ripple in the density profile and the existence of the excessive particle currents. Moreover, by making a finite-size scaling analysis of the asymptotic amplitudes of the local densities and currents, we find the scaling exponents with respect to the total number of sites to be -3/2 and -1 respectively.

Long time asymptotics of the totally asymmetric simple exclusion process

We study the long time asymptotics of the relaxation dynamics of the totally asymmetric simple exclusion process on a ring. Evaluating the asymptotic amplitudes of the local currents by the algebraic Bethe ansatz method, we find the relaxation times starting from the step and alternating initial conditions are governed by different eigenvalues of the Markov matrix. In both cases, the scaling exponents of the leading asymptotic amplitudes with respect to the total number of sites are found to be -1. We also study the asymptotics of correlation functions such as the emptiness formation probability.

Spin-spin correlation functions of the q-VBS state of an integer spin model

We consider the valence-bond-solid ground state of the q-deformed higher-spin AKLT model (q-VBS state). We investigate the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of a matrix (G matrix), which is constructed from the matrix product representation of the q-VBS state. We compute the longitudinal and transverse spin-spin correlation functions, and determine the correlation amplitudes and correlation lengths for real q.

A note on a boundary one point function for the six vertex model with reflecting end

A boundary one point function related to the boundary spontaneous polarization, which is different from the ones considered in the past, is studied for the six vertex model on a 2N \times N lattice with domain wall boundary condition and left reflecting end. It is expressible in terms of a special kind of coordinate space wave functions, which can be expressed as determinants.

Boundary correlation functions of the six and nineteen vertex models with domain wall boundary conditions

Correlation functions of the six and nineteen vertex models on an N \times N lattice with domain wall boundary conditions are studied. The general expression of the boundary correlation functions is obtained for the six vertex model by use of the quantum inverse scattering method. The correlation functions which are not "boundary" can be expressed as a linear sum of the boundary correlation functions. For the nineteen vertex model, the boundary correlation functions are shown to be expressed in terms of those for the six vertex model.

Reflection equation for the N=3 Cremmer-Gervais R-matrix

We consider the reflection equation of the N=3 Cremmer-Gervais R-matrix. The reflection equation is shown to be equivalent to 38 equations which do not depend on the parameter of the R-matrix, q. Solving those 38 equations. the solution space is found to be the union of two types of spaces, each of which is parametrized by the algebraic variety $\mathbb{P}^1(\mathbb{C}) \times \mathbb{P}^1(\mathbb{C}) \times \mathbb{P}^2(\mathbb{C})$ and $ \mathbb{C} \times \mathbb{P}^1(\mathbb{C}) \times \mathbb{P}^2(\mathbb{C})$.

The matrix product representation for the q-VBS state of one-dimensional higher integer spin model

The generalized q-deformed valence-bond-solid groundstate of one-dimensional higher integer spin model is studied. The Schwinger boson representation and the matrix product representation of the exact groundstate is determined, which recovers the former results for the spin-1 case or the isotropic limit. As an application, several correlation functions are evaluated from the matrix product representation.

Form factors and correlation functions of an interacting spinless fermion model

Introducing the fermionic R-operator and solutions of the inverse scattering problem for local fermion operators, we derive a multiple integral representation for zero-temperature correlation functions of a one-dimensional interacting spinless fermion model. Correlation functions particularly considered are the one-particle Green's function and the density-density correlation function both for any interaction strength and for arbitrary particle densities. In particular for the free fermion model, our formulae reproduce the known exact results. Form factors of local fermion operators are also calculated for a finite system.
