Impact of quark flavor violating SUSY on h(125) decays at future lepton colliders

We study the CP-even neutral Higgs boson decays $h^0 \to c \bar{c}, b \bar{b}, b \bar{s}, γγ, g g$ in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with general quark flavor violation (QFV) due to squark generation mixings, identifying the $h^0$ as the Higgs boson with a mass of 125 GeV. We compute the widths of the $h^0$ decays to $c \bar c, b \bar b, b \bar s$ at full one-loop level. For the $h^0$ decays to $γγ$ and $g g$ we compute the widths at NLO QCD level. {\it For the first time}, we perform a systematic MSSM parameter scan for these widths respecting all the relevant theoretical and experimental constraints, such as those from B-meson data, and the 125 GeV Higgs boson data from recent LHC experiments, as well as the limits on Supersymmetric (SUSY) particle (sparticle) masses from the LHC experiments. We also take into account the expected sparticle mass limits from the future HL-LHC experiment in our analysis. {\it In strong contrast to} the usual studies in the MSSM with Minimal Flavor Violation (MFV), we find that the deviations of these MSSM decay widths from the Standard Model (SM) values can be quite sizable and that there are significant correlations among these deviations. All of these sizable deviations in the $h^0$ decays are mainly due to large scharm-stop mixing and large sstrange-sbottom mixing. Such sizable deviations from the SM can be observed at high signal significance in future lepton colliders such as ILC, CLIC, CEPC, FCC-ee and muon collider {\it even after} the failure of SUSY particle discovery at the HL-LHC. In case the deviation pattern shown here is really observed at the lepton colliders, then it would strongly suggest the discovery of QFV SUSY (the MSSM with general QFV).

Quark-flavour violating Higgs decays to charm and bottom pairs in the MSSM

We calculate the decay width of $h^0 \to b \bar{b}$ in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with quark-flavour violation (QFV) at full one-loop level. The effect of $\tilde{c}-\tilde{t}$ mixing and $\tilde{s}-\tilde{b}$ mixing is studied taking into account the constraints from the B-meson data. We discuss and compare in detail the decays $h^0 \to c \bar{c}$ and $h^0 \to b \bar{b}$ within the framework of the perturbative mass insertion technique using the Flavour Expansion Theorem. The deviation of both decay widths from the Standard Model results can be quite large. While in $h^0 \to c \bar{c}$ it is almost entirely due to the flavour violating part of the MSSM, in $h^0 \to b \bar{b}$ it is mainly due to the flavour conserving part. Nevertheless, $Γ(h^0 \to b \bar{b})$ can fluctuate up to $\sim 7\%$ due to QFV chargino exchange with large $\tilde{c}-\tilde{t}$ mixing. due to QFV chargino exchange with large $\tilde{c}-\tilde{t}$ mixing.

The decays $h^0 \to b \bar{b}$ and $h^0 \to c \bar{c}$ in the light of the MSSM with quark flavour violation

We calculate the decay width of h0 -> b bbar in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with quark flavour violation (QFV) at full one-loop level. We study the effect of scharm-stop mixing and sstrange-sbottom mixing taking into account the constraints from the B meson data. The deviation of both decay widths from the Standard Model values can be quite large. Whereas in h0 -> c cbar it is almost entirely due to the flavour violating part of the MSSM, in h0 -> b bbar it is mainly due to the flavour conserving part. Nevertheless, the QFV contribution to Gamma(h0 -> b bbar) due to scharm-stop mixing and chargino exchange can go up to about 8%.

$h^0 \to c \bar{c}$ as a test case for quark flavor violation in the MSSM

We compute the decay width of $h^0 \to c \bar{c}$ in the MSSM with quark flavor violation (QFV) at full one-loop level adopting the $\overline{\rm DR}$ renormalisation scheme. We study the effects of $\tilde{c}-\tilde{t}$ mixing, taking into account the constraints from the B meson data. We show that the full one-loop corrected decay width $Γ(h^0 \to c \bar{c})$ is very sensitive to the MSSM QFV parameters. In a scenario with large $\tilde{c}_{L,R}-\tilde{t}_{L,R}$ mixing $Γ(h^0 \to c \bar{c})$ can differ up to $\sim \pm 35\%$ from its SM value. After estimating the uncertainties of the width, we conclude that an observation of these SUSY QFV effects is possible at an $e^+ e^-$ collider (ILC).

$h^0(125GeV) \to c \bar{c}$ as a test case for quark flavor violation in the MSSM

We calculate the decay width of $h^0(125GeV) \to c \bar{c}$ in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with non-minimal quark flavor violation (QFV) at full one-loop level. We adopt the $\overline{\rm DR}$ renormalization scheme. We study the effects of the mixing of the second and third squark generations (i.e. scharm-stop mixing) on the decay width, respecting the experimental constraints from B-meson data, the Higgs mass measurement and supersymmetric (SUSY) particle searches. We show that the decay width $Γ(h^0 \to c \bar{c})$ at the full one-loop level is very sensitive to the SUSY QFV parameters. In a scenario with large scharm-stop mixing, the decay width can differ up to $\sim \pm 35\%$ from its SM prediction. After taking into account the experimental and theoretical uncertainties of the decay width, we conclude that these QFV SUSY effects can be observed at a future $e^+ e^-$ collider such as ILC (International Linear Collider).

Quark-flavour violation in $h^0 \to b \bar{b}$ in the MSSM at one-loop level

We compute the width of the decay $h^0$ (125 GeV) $\to b \bar{b}$ at next-to-leading order in the general MSSM with quark-flavour violation (QFV). We study the effect of mixing between the second and the third generation of squarks, taking into account the constraints on QFV from B-meson data. We discuss the renormalisation of the process as well as the resummation of the bottom Yukawa coupling at large $\tan β$. We show numerical results on the decay width $Γ(h^0 \to b \bar{b})$ as a function of the involved QFV parameters and compare them with the corresponding width in the Standard Model.

Flavour violating bosonic squark decays at LHC

We study quark flavour violation (QFV) in the squark sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We assume mixing between the second and the third squark generations, i.e. sc_R-st_{L,R} mixing mixing. We focus on QFV effects in bosonic squark decays, in particular on the decay into the lightest Higgs boson h0, su_2 -> su_1 h0, where su_{1,2} are the lightest up-type squarks. We show that the branching ratio of this QFV decay can be quite large (up to 50 %) due to large QFV trilinear couplings, and large sc_R-st_{L, R} and st_L-st_R mixing, despite the strong constraints on QFV from B meson data. This can result in characteristic QFV final states with significant rates at LHC (14 TeV), such as pp -> gluino gluino X -> t + h0 + 3jets + Etmiss + X and pp -> gluino gluino X -> t t (or tbar tbar) + h0 + 2jets + Etmiss + X. The QFV bosonic squark decays can have an influence on the squark and gluino searches at LHC.

Higgs boson decay to charm pair at full one-loop level in the MSSM with flavour violation

We study the decay of the lightest neutral Higgs boson to a charm quark pair at full one-loop level in the MSSM with non-minimal quark flavour violation (QFV). In the numerical analysis we consider mixing between the second and the third squark generation and all relevant constraints from B meson data are taken into account. It is shown that the full one-loop corrected decay width can be quite sensitive to the MSSM QFV parameters due to large $\tilde c - \tilde t$ mixing and large trilinear couplings. After summarising the theoretical and experimental errors, we conclude that an observation of these SUSY QFV effects is possible at the ILC.

Flavour violating bosonic squark decays at LHC

Quark flavour conserving (QFC) fermionic squark decays, such as ~t_{1,2} -> t neutralino_i, are usually assumed in squark search analyses. Here we study quark flavour violating (QFV) bosonic squark decays, such as ~u_2 -> ~u_1 h^0/Z^0, where the mass eigenstates ~u_{1,2} are mixtures of scharm and stop quarks. We show that the branching ratios of such QFV decays can be very large due to sizable ~c_R - ~t_{R/L} and ~t_R - ~t_L mixing effects despite the very strong constraints on the QFV parameters from B meson data. This can result in remarkable QFV signatures with significant rates at LHC (14 TeV), such as pp -> gluino gluino X -> t c bar{c} bar{c} h^0/Z^0 missing-E_T X and pp -> gluino gluino X -> t t bar{c} bar{c} h^0/Z^0 missing-E_T X. The QFV bosonic squark decays can play an important role in the squark and gluino searches at LHC (14 TeV).

Flavour violating squark and gluino decays at LHC

We study the effects of squark generation mixing on squark and gluino production and decays at LHC in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with focus on the mixing between second and third generation squarks. Taking into account the constraints from B-physics experiments we show that various regions in parameter space exist where decays of squarks and/or gluinos into quark flavour violating (QFV) final states can have large branching ratios. Here we consider both fermionic and bosonic decays of squarks. Rates of the corresponding QFV signals, e.g. pp -> t t bar{c} bar{c} missing-E_T X, can be significant at LHC(14 TeV). We find that the inclusion of flavour mixing effects can be important for the search of squarks and gluinos and the determination of the underlying model parameters of the MSSM at LHC.

Flavour violating gluino three-body decays at LHC

We study the effect of squark generation mixing on gluino production and decays at LHC in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) for the case that the gluino is lighter than all squarks and dominantly decays into three particles, $gl -> q qbar neut_k, gl -> q qbar' char_l$. We assume mixing between the second and the third squark generations in the up-type and down-type squark sectors. We show that this mixing can lead to very large branching ratios of the quark-flavour violating gluino three-body decays despite the strong constraints on quark-flavour violation (QFV) from the experimental data on B mesons. We also show that the QFV gluino decay branching ratios are very sensitive not only to the generation mixing in the squark sector, but also to the parameters of the neutralino and chargino sectors. We show that the branching ratio of the QFV gluino decay $gl -> c tbar (cbar t) neut_1$ can go up to ~ 40%. Analogously, that of the QFV decay $gl -> s bbar (sbar b) neut_1$ can reach ~35%. We find that the rates of the resulting QFV signatures, such as $pp -> t t cbar cbar E_T^mis$, can be significant at LHC. This could have an important influence on the gluino searches at LHC.

Flavour violating up-squark decays at LHC

We study the effect of squark generation mixing on squark production and decays at the LHC in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We show that the effect can be very large despite the very strong constraints on quark flavour violation (QFV) from experimental data on B mesons. We find that the two lightest up-type squarks ${\tilde u}_{1,2}$ can have large branching ratios for the decays into $c {\tildeχ_1^0}$ and $t {\tildeχ_1^0}$ at the same time, leading to QFV signals '$p p \to c \bar t\, (t \bar c)$ + missing-$E_T$ + $X$' with a significant rate. The observation of this remarkable signature would provide a powerful test of supersymmetric QFV at LHC. This could have a significant impact on the search for squarks and the determination of the underlying MSSM parameters.

We show that the effect can be very large despite the very strong constraints on quark flavour violation (QFV) from experimental data on B mesons. We find that the two lightest up-type squarks su_{1,2} can have large branching ratios for the decays into 'c-quark + neutralino_1' and 't-quark + neutralino_1' at the same time due to squark generation mixing, leading to QFV signals 'pp -> c bar{t} (t bar{c}) + missing-E_T + X' with a significant rate. The observation of this remarkable signature would provide a powerful test of supersymmetric QFV at LHC. This could have a significant impact on the search for squarks and the determination of the underlying MSSM parameters.

Impact of squark generation mixing on the search for gluinos at LHC

We study the effect of squark-generation mixing on gluino decays in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We show that due to the effect the quark-flavor violating (QFV) gluino decay branching ratio B(gluino -> c bar{t} (t bar{c}) + neutralino_1) can be very large (up to ~50%) in a significant part of the MSSM parameter space despite the very strong experimental constraints on QFV from B meson observables. This could have an important impact on the search for gluinos and the determination of the MSSM parameters at LHC.

Impact of squark generation mixing on the search for gluinos at LHC

We study gluino decays in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with squark generation mixing. We show that the effect of this mixing on the gluino decay branching ratios can be very large in a significant part of the MSSM parameter space despite the very strong experimental constraints on quark flavour violation (QFV) from B meson observables. Especially we find that under favourable conditions the branching ratio of the the QFV gluino decay gluino -> c bar{t} (bar{c} t) + neutralino_1 can be as large as about 50%. We also find that the squark generation mixing can result in a multiple-edge (3- or 4-edge) structure in the charm-top quark invariant mass distribution. The appearance of this remarkable structure provides an additional powerful test of supersymmetric QFV at LHC. These could have an important impact on the search for gluinos and the determination of the MSSM parameters at LHC.

Impact of squark generation mixing on the search for squarks and gluinos at LHC

We study the effect of squark-generation mixing on production and decays of squarks and gluinos at LHC in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We show that the mixing effects can be very large in a significant range of the squark-generation mixing parameters despite the very strong constraints on quark-flavour violation (QFV) from experimental data on B mesons. We find that under favourable conditions the QFV decay branching ratio B(gluino -> c bar{t} (t bar{c}) neutralino_1) can be as large as about 50%, which may lead to significant QFV signals at LHC. We also find that the squark generation mixing can result in a novel multiple-edge (3- or 4-edge) structure in the charm-top quark invariant mass distribution. Further we show that the two lightest up-type squarks ~u_{1,2} can have very large branching ratios for the decays ~u_i -> c neutralino_1 and ~u_i -> t neutralino_1 simultaneously due to the mixing effect, resulting in QFV signals 'pp -> c bar{t} (t bar{c}) + missing-E_T + X' at a significant rate at LHC. These remarkable signatures could provide a powerful test of supersymmetric QFV at LHC and could have an important impact on the search for squarks and gluinos and the determination of the MSSM parameters at LHC.

Top Squarks and Bottom Squarks in the MSSM with Complex Parameters

We present a phenomenological study of top squarks (~t_1,2) and bottom squarks (~b_1,2) in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with complex parameters A_t, A_b, μand M_1. In particular we focus on the CP phase dependence of the branching ratios of (~t_1,2) and (~b_1,2) decays. We give the formulae of the two-body decay widths and present numerical results. We find that the effect of the phases on the (~t_1,2) and (~b_1,2) decays can be quite significant in a large region of the MSSM parameter space. This could have important implications for (~t_1,2) and (~b_1,2) searches and the MSSM parameter determination in future collider experiments. We have also estimated the accuracy expected in the determination of the parameters of ~t_i and ~b_i by a global fit of the measured masses, decay branching ratios and production cross sections at e^+ e^- linear colliders with polarized beams. Analysing two scenarios, we find that the fundamental parameters apart from A_t and A_b can be determined with errors of 1% to 2%, assuming an integrated luminosity of 1 ab^-1 and a sufficiently large c.m.s. energy to produce also the heavier ~t_2 and ~b_2 states. The parameter A_t can be determined with an error of 2 - 3%, whereas the error on A_b is likely to be of the order of 50%.

Impact of CP phases on stop and sbottom searches

We study the decays of top squarks (stop_{1,2}) and bottom squarks (sbottom_{1,2}) in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with complex parameters A_t, A_b, mu and M_1. We show that including the corresponding phases substantially affects the branching ratios of stop_{1,2} and sbottom_{1,2} decays in a large domain of the MSSM parameter space. We find that the branching ratios can easily change by a factor of 2 and more when varying the phases. This could have an important impact on the search for stop_{1,2} and sbottom_{1,2} and the determination of the MSSM parameters at future colliders.

Impact of CP phases on the search for sleptons tau and nu_tau

We study the decays of the tau-sleptons (stau_{1,2}) and tau-sneutrino (snu_tau) in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with complex parameters A_tau, mu and M_1 (U(1) gaugino mass). We show that the effect of the CP phases of these parameters on the branching ratios of stau_{1,2} and snu_tau decays can be quite strong in a large region of the MSSM parameter space. This could have an important impact on the search for stau_{1,2} and snu_tau and the determination of the MSSM parameters at future colliders.

Impact of bosonic decays on the search for t~_1 and b~_1 squarks

We perform a detailed study of the decays of the lighter top and bottom squarks (t~_1 and b~_1) in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We show that the decays into Higgs or gauge bosons, i.e. t~_1 -> b~_1 + (H^+ or W^+) and b~_1 -> t~_1 + (H^- or W^-), can be dominant in a wide range of the MSSM parameters due to the large Yukawa couplings and mixings of t~ and b~. Compared to the decays into fermions, such as t~_1 -> t + (neutralino_i or gluino) and t~_1 -> b + chargino_j, these bosonic decay modes can have significantly different decay distributions. We also show that the effect of the supersymmetric QCD running of the quark and squark parameters on the t~_1 and b~_1 decay branching ratios is quite dramatic. These could have an important impact on the search for t~_1 and b~_1 and the determination of the MSSM parameters at future colliders.

Impact of bosonic decays on the search for stau_2 and tau-sneutrino

We perform a detailed study of the decays of the heavier tau slepton (stau_2) and tau-sneutrino (snu_tau) in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We show that the decays into Higgs or gauge bosons, i.e. stau_2 -> stau_1 + (h^0, H^0, A^0 or Z^0), stau_2 -> snu_tau + (H^- or W^-), and snu_tau -> stau_1 + (H^+ or W^+), can be very important due to the sizable tau Yukawa coupling and large mixing parameters of stau. Compared to the decays into fermions, such as stau_2 -> tau + neutralino_i and stau_2 -> nu_tau + chargino_j^-, these bosonic decay modes can have significantly different decay distributions. This could have an important influence on the search for stau_2 and snu_tau and the determination of the MSSM parameters at future colliders.

SUSY-QCD corrections to stop and sbottom decays into Higgs bosons

We calculate the order(α_s) SUSY-QCD corrections to the widths of stop and sbottom decays into Higgs bosons within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We give the complete analytical formulae paying particular attention to the on-shell renormalization of the soft SUSY-breaking parameters. We also perform a detailed numerical analysis of both stop and sbottom decays into all Higgs bosons h^0, H^0, A^0, and H^\pm. QCD corrections to the decay $H^+ \to t \bar{b}$ in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model

We present a complete calculation of the QCD corrections (of the order $α_s$) to the width of the decay $H^+ \to t \bar{b}$ within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We find that the QCD corrections are quite important, and that the supersymmetric QCD corrections (due to gluino, stop and sbottom exchange) can be comparable to or even larger than the standard QCD corrections in a large region of the supersymmetric parameter space. This is mainly due to the effect of large left-right mixings of stop and sbottom. This could significantly affect the phenomenology of the $H^+$ search.
