Tensor-Network Analysis of Root Patterns in the XXX Model with Open Boundaries

The string hypothesis for Bethe roots represents a cornerstone in the study of quantum integrable systems, providing access to physical quantities such as the ground-state energy and the finite-temperature free energy. While the $t-W$ scheme and the inhomogeneous $T-Q$ relation have enabled significant methodological advances for systems with broken $U(1)$ symmetry, the underlying physics induced by symmetry breaking remains largely unexplored, due to the previously unknown distributions of the transfer-matrix roots. In this paper, we propose a new approach to determining the patterns of zero roots and Bethe roots for the $Λ-θ$ and inhomogeneous Bethe ansatz equations using tensor-network algorithms. As an explicit example, we consider the isotropic Heisenberg spin chain with non-diagonal boundary conditions. The exact structures of both zero roots and Bethe roots are obtained in the ground state for large system sizes, up to ($N\simeq 60$ and $100$). We find that even in the absence of $U(1)$ symmetry, the Bethe and zero roots still exhibit a highly structured pattern. The zero roots organize into bulk strings, boundary strings, and additional roots, forming two dominant lines with boundary-string attachments. Correspondingly, the Bethe roots can be classified into four distinct types: regular roots, line roots, arc roots, and paired-line roots. These structures are associated with a real-axis line, a vertical line, characteristic arcs in the complex plane, and boundary-induced conjugate pairs. Comparative analysis reveals that the $t-W$ scheme generates significantly simpler root topologies than those obtained via off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz.

Exact ground state and elementary excitations of a competing spin chain with twisted boundary condition

A novel Bethe ansatz scheme is proposed to investigate the exact physical properties of an integrable anisotropic quantum spin chain with competing interactions among the nearest, next nearest neighbor and chiral three spin couplings, where the boundary condition is the twisted one. The eigenvalue of the transfer matrix is characterized by its zero roots instead of the traditional Bethe roots. Based on the exact solution, the conserved momentum and charge operators of this U(1)-symmetry broken system are obtained. The ground state energy and density of rapidities are calculated. It is found that there exist three kinds of elementary excitations and the corresponding dispersion relations are obtained, which gives a different picture from that with periodic boundary condition.

Exact solution of the quantum integrable model associated with the twisted $D^{(2)}_3$ algebra

We generalize the nested off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method to study the quantum chain associated with the twisted $D^{(2)}_3$ algebra (or the $D^{(2)}_3$ model) with either periodic or integrable open boundary conditions. We obtain the intrinsic operator product identities among the fused transfer matrices and find a way to close the recursive fusion relations, which makes it possible to determinate eigenvalues of transfer matrices with an arbitrary anisotropic parameter $η$. Based on them, and the asymptotic behaviors and values at certain points, we construct eigenvalues of transfer matrices in terms of homogeneous $T-Q$ relations for the periodic case and inhomogeneous ones for the open case with some off-diagonal boundary reflections. The associated Bethe ansatz equations are also given. The method and results in this paper can be generalized to the $D^{(2)}_{n+1}$ model and other high rank integrable models.

Exact surface energy of the $D^{(1)}_2$ spin chain with generic non-diagonal boundary reflections

The exact solution of the $D^{(1)}_2$ quantum spin chain with generic non-diagonal boundary reflections is obtained. It is found that the generating functional of conserved quantities of the system can be factorized as the product of transfer matrices of two anisotropic $XXZ$ spin chains with open boundary conditions. By using the factorization identities and the fusion technique, the eigenvalues and the Bethe ansatz equations of the model are obtained. The eigenvalues are also parameterized by the zero roots of the transfer matrix, and the patterns of root distributions are obtained. Based on them, ground states energy and the surface energies induced by the twisted boundary magnetic fields in the thermodynamic limit are obtained. These results are checked by the numerical calculations. The corresponding isotropic limit is also discussed. The results given in this paper are the foundation to study the exact physical properties of high rank $D^{(1)}_{n}$ model by using the nested processes.

Spectrum of the quantum integrable $D^{(2)}_2$ spin chain with generic boundary fields

Exact solution of the quantum integrable $D^{(2)}_2$ spin chain with generic integrable boundary fields is constructed. It is found that the transfer matrix of this model can be factorized as the product of those of two open staggered anisotropic XXZ spin chains. Based on this identity, the eigenvalues and Bethe ansatz equations of the $D^{(2)}_2$ model are derived via off-diagonal Bethe ansatz.

Thermodynamic limit and boundary energy of the spin-1 Heisenberg chain with non-diagonal boundary fields

The thermodynamic limit and boundary energy of the isotropic spin-1 Heisenberg chain with non-diagonal boundary fields are studied. The finite size scaling properties of the inhomogeneous term in the $ T-Q $ relation at the ground state are calculated by the density matrix renormalization group. Based on our findings, the boundary energy of the system in the thermodynamic limit can be obtained from Bethe ansatz equations of a related model with parallel boundary fields. These results can be generalized to the $SU(2)$ symmetric high spin Heisenberg model directly.

Exact solutions of the $C_n$ quantum spin chain

We study the exact solutions of quantum integrable model associated with the $C_n$ Lie algebra, with either a periodic or an open one with off-diagonal boundary reflections, by generalizing the nested off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method. Taking the $C_3$ as an example we demonstrate how the generalized method works. We give the fusion structures of the model and provide a way to close fusion processes. Based on the resulted operator product identities among fused transfer matrices and some necessary additional constraints such as asymptotic behaviors and relations at some special points, we obtain the eigenvalues of transfer matrices and parameterize them as homogeneous $T-Q$ relations in the periodic case or inhomogeneous ones in the open case. We also give the exact solutions of the $C_n$ model with an off-diagonal open boundary condition. The method and results in this paper can be generalized to other high rank integrable models associated with other Lie algebras.

Surface energy of the one-dimensional supersymmetric $t-J$ model with general integrable boundary terms in the antiferromagnetic sector

In this paper, we study the surface energy of the one-dimensional supersymmetric $t-J$ model with unparallel boundary magnetic fields, which is a typical $U(1)$-symmetry broken quantum integrable strongly correlated electron system. It is shown that at the ground state, the contribution of inhomogeneous term in the Bethe ansatz solution of eigenvalues of transfer matrix satisfies the finite size scaling law $L^β$ where $β<0$. Based on it, the physical quantities of the system in the thermodynamic limit are calculated. We obtain the patterns of Bethe roots and the analytical expressions of density of states, ground state energy and surface energy. We also find that there exist the stable boundary bound states if the boundary fields satisfy some constraints.

Coherence of an extended central spin model with a coupled spin bath

We study an extended central spin model with an isotropic nearest-neighbour spin-exchange interaction among the bath spins. The system is controllable by external magnetic fields applied on the central spin and the bath, respectively. We construct a basis set of the Hilbert space and express the Hamiltonian of the extended model into a series of $2\times2$ block matrices to obtain the exact solution of the model successfully. Therefrom, the coherence and the spin polarization of the central spin are investigated. We find that if the couplings among the bath spins are antiferromagnetic, the central spin has good coherence and polarization at low temperatures. Moreover, the decoherence is greatly suppressed at the critical point where the strengthes of the central and the bath magnetic field take the same value. A dephasing phenomenon is identified when the initial state of the central spin is unpolarized.

Non-Hermitian mobility edges in one-dimensional quasicrystals with parity-time symmetry

We investigate localization-delocalization transition in one-dimensional non-Hermitian quasiperiodic lattices with exponential short-range hopping, which possess parity-time ($\mathcal{PT}$) symmetry. The localization transition induced by the non-Hermitian quasiperiodic potential is found to occur at the $\mathcal{PT}$-symmetry-breaking point. Our results also demonstrate the existence of energy dependent mobility edges, which separate the extended states from localized states and are only associated with the real part of eigen-energies. The level statistics and Loschmidt echo dynamics are also studied.

Correlation functions of the XXZ spin chain with the twisted boundary condition

The scalar products, form factors and correlation functions of the XXZ spin chain with twisted (or antiperiodic) boundary condition are obtained based on the inhomogeneous $T-Q$ relation and the Bethe states constructed via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz. It is shown that the scalar product of two off-shell Bethe states, the form factors and the two-point correlation functions can be expressed as the summation of certain determinants. The corresponding homogeneous limits are studied. The results are also checked by the numerical calculations.

Exact solution of a anisotropic $J_1-J_2$ spin chain with antiperiodic boundary condition

The exact solution of an integrable anisotropic Heisenberg spin chain with nearest-neighbour, next-nearest-neighbour and scalar chirality couplings is studied, where the boundary condition is the antiperiodic one. The detailed construction of Hamiltonian and the proof of integrability are given. The antiperiodic boundary condition breaks the $U(1)$-symmetry of the system and we use the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz to solve it. The energy spectrum is characterized by the inhomogeneous $T-Q$ relations and the contribution of the inhomogeneous term is studied. The ground state energy and the twisted boundary energy in different regions are obtained. We also find that the Bethe roots at the ground state form the string structure if the coupling constant $J=-1$ although the Bethe Ansatz equations are the inhomogeneous ones.

Exact solution of an integrable anisotropic $J_1-J_2$ spin chain model

An integrable anisotropic Heisenberg spin chain with nearest-neighbour couplings, next-nearest-neighbour couplings and scalar chirality terms is constructed. After proving the integrability, we obtain the exact solution of the system. The ground state and the elementary excitations are also studied. It is shown that the spinon excitation of the present model possesses a novel triple arched structure. The elementary excitation is gapless if the anisotropic parameter $η$ is real while the elementary excitation has an enhanced gap by the next-nearest-neighbour and chiral three-spin interactions if the anisotropic parameter $η$ is imaginary. The method of this paper provides a general way to construct new integrable models with next-nearest-neighbour interactions.

A representation basis for the quantum integrable spin chain associated with the su(3) algebra

An orthogonal basis of the Hilbert space for the quantum spin chain associated with the su(3) algebra is introduced. Such kind of basis could be treated as a nested generalization of separation of variables (SoV) basis for high-rank quantum integrable models. It is found that all the monodromy-matrix elements acting on a basis vector take simple forms. With the help of the basis, we construct eigenstates of the su(3) inhomogeneous spin torus (the trigonometric su(3) spin chain with antiperiodic boundary condition) from its spectrum obtained via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz (ODBA). Based on small sites (i.e. N=2) check, it is conjectured that the homogeneous limit of the eigenstates exists, which gives rise to the corresponding eigenstates of the homogenous model.

Bethe ansatz solution of the $τ_2$-model with arbitrary boundary fields

The quantum $τ_2$-model with generic site-dependent inhomogeneity and arbitrary boundary fields is studied via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz method. The eigenvalues of the corresponding transfer matrix are given in terms of an inhomogeneous T-Q relation, which is based on the operator product identities among the fused transfer matrices and the asymptotic behavior of the transfer matrices. Moreover, the associated Bethe Ansatz equations are also obtained.

Exact solution of an su(n) spin torus

The trigonometric su(n) spin chain with anti-periodic boundary condition (su(n) spin torus) is demonstrated to be Yang-Baxter integrable. Based on some intrinsic properties of the R-matrix, certain operator product identities of the transfer matrix are derived. These identities and the asymptotic behavior of the transfer matrix together allow us to obtain the exact eigenvalues in terms of an inhomogeneous T-Q relation via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz.

Exact solution of the trigonometric SU(3) spin chain with generic off-diagonal boundary reflections

The nested off-diagonal Bethe ansatz is generalized to study the quantum spin chain associated with the $SU_q(3)$ R-matrix and generic integrable non-diagonal boundary conditions. By using the fusion technique, certain closed operator identities among the fused transfer matrices at the inhomogeneous points are derived. The corresponding asymptotic behaviors of the transfer matrices and their values at some special points are given in detail. Based on the functional analysis, a nested inhomogeneous T-Q relations and Bethe ansatz equations of the system are obtained. These results can be naturally generalized to cases related to the $SU_q(n)$ algebra.

Thermodynamic limit and boundary energy of the SU(3) spin chain with non-diagonal boundary fields

We investigate the thermodynamic limit of the su(n)-invariant spin chain models with unparallel boundary fields. It is found that the contribution of the inhomogeneous term in the associated T-Q relation to the ground state energy does vanish in the thermodynamic limit. This fact allows us to calculate the boundary energy of the system. Taking the su(2) (or the XXX) spin chain and the su(3) spin chain as concrete examples, we have studied the corresponding boundary energies of the models. The method used in this paper can be generalized to study the thermodynamic properties and boundary energy of other high rank models with non-diagonal boundary fields.

Bethe states of the XXZ spin-1/2 chain with arbitrary boundary fields

Based on the inhomogeneous T-Q relation constructed via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz, the Bethe-type eigenstates of the XXZ spin-1/2 chain with arbitrary boundary fields are constructed. It is found that by employing two sets of gauge transformations, proper generators and reference state for constructing Bethe vectors can be obtained respectively. Given an inhomogeneous T-Q relation for an eigenvalue, it is proven that the resulting Bethe state is an eigenstate of the transfer matrix, provided that the parameters of the generators satisfy the associated Bethe Ansatz equations.

Exact solution of the spin-s Heisenberg chain with generic non-diagonal boundaries

The off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method is generalized to the high spin integrable systems associated with the su(2) algebra by employing the spin-s isotropic Heisenberg chain model with generic integrable boundaries as an example. With the fusion techniques, certain closed operator identities for constructing the functional T-Q relations and the Bethe ansatz equations are derived. It is found that a variety of inhomogeneous T-Q relations obeying the operator product identities can be constructed. Numerical results for two-site s=1 case indicate that an arbitrary choice of the derived T-Q relations is enough to give the complete spectrum of the transfer matrix.

Exact solution of the XXZ alternating spin chain with generic non-diagonal boundaries

The integrable XXZ alternating spin chain with generic non-diagonal boundary terms specified by the most general non-diagonal K-matrices is studied via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz method. Based on the intrinsic properties of the fused R-matrices and K-matrices, we obtain certain closed operator identities and conditions, which allow us to construct an inhomogeneous T-Q relation and the associated Bethe Ansatz equations accounting for the eigenvalues of the transfer matrix.

Exotic pairing in 1D spin-3/2 atomic gases with $SO(4)$ symmetry

Tuning interactions in the spin singlet and quintet channels of two colliding atoms could change the symmetry of the one-dimensional spin-3/2 fermionic systems of ultracold atoms while preserving the integrability. Here we find a novel $SO(4)$ symmetry integrable point in thespin-3/2 Fermi gas and derive the exact solution of the model using the Bethe ansatz. In contrast to the model with $SU(4)$ and $SO(5)$ symmetries, the present model with $SO(4)$ symmetry preserves spin singlet and quintet Cooper pairs in two sets of $SU(2)\otimes SU(2)$ spin subspaces. We obtain full phase diagrams, including the Fulde-Ferrel-Larkin-Ovchinnikov like pair correlations, spin excitations and quantum criticality through the generalized Yang-Yang thermodynamic equations. In particular, various correlation functions are calculated by using finite-size corrections in the frame work of conformal field theory. Moreover, within the local density approximation, we further find that spin singlet and quintet pairs form subtle multiple shell structures in density profiles of the trapped gas.

Off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz solution of the $τ_2$-model

The generic quantum $τ_2$-model (also known as Baxter-Bazhanov-Stroganov (BBS) model) with periodic boundary condition is studied via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz method. The eigenvalues of the corresponding transfer matrix (solutions of the recursive functional relations in $τ_j$-hierarchy) with generic site-dependent inhomogeneity parameters are given in terms of an inhomogeneous T-Q relation with polynomial Q-functions. The associated Bethe Ansatz equations are obtained. Numerical solutions of the Bethe Ansatz equations for small number of sites indicate that the inhomogeneous T-Q relation does indeed give the complete spectrum.

On the complete-spectrum characterization of quantum integrable spin chains via the inhomogeneous T-Q relation

With the XXZ spin chains as examples, we prove two theorems: (1) the functional relations derived from the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz scheme are the sufficient and necessary conditions to characterize the complete spectrum of the corresponding transfer matrix; (2) each eigenvalue of the transfer matrix can be parameterized by a minimal inhomogeneous T-Q relation. These statements hold for both with and without inhomogeneity. The proof can be generalized to other finite-dimensional quantum integrable models.

Retrieve the Bethe states of quantum integrable models solved via off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz

Based on the inhomogeneous T-Q relation constructed via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz, a systematic method for retrieving the Bethe-type eigenstates of integrable models without obvious reference state is developed by employing certain orthogonal basis of the Hilbert space. With the XXZ spin torus model and the open XXX spin-1/2 chain as examples, we show that for a given inhomogeneous T-Q relation and the associated Bethe Ansatz equations, the constructed Bethe-type eigenstate has a well-defined homogeneous limit.

The small polaron, an one-dimensional lattice model of interacting spinless fermions, with generic non-diagonal boundary terms is studied by the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method. The presence of the Grassmann valued non-diagonal boundary fields gives rise to a typical $U(1)$-symmetry-broken fermionic model. The exact spectra of the Hamiltonian and the associated Bethe ansatz equations are derived by constructing an inhomogeneous $T-Q$ relation.

Exact solution of the Izergin-Korepin model with general non-diagonal boundary terms

The Izergin-Korepin model with general non-diagonal boundary terms, a typical integrable model beyond A-type and without U(1)-symmetry, is studied via the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method. Based on some intrinsic properties of the R-matrix and the K-matrices, certain operator product identities of the transfer matrix are obtained at some special points of the spectral parameter. These identities and the asymptotic behaviors of the transfer matrix together allow us to construct the inhomogeneous T-Q relation and the associated Bethe ansatz equations. In the diagonal boundary limit, the reduced results coincide exactly with those obtained via other methods.

Exact solution of the one-dimensional super-symmetric t-J model with unparallel boundary fields

The exact solution of the one-dimensional super-symmetric t-J model under generic integrable boundary conditions is obtained via the Bethe ansatz methods. With the coordinate Bethe ansatz, the corresponding R-matrix and K-matrices are derived for the second eigenvalue problem associated with spin degrees of freedom. It is found that the second eigenvalue problem can be transformed to that of the transfer matrix of the inhomogeneous XXX spin chain, which allows us to obtain the spectrum of the Hamiltonian and the associated Bethe ansatz equations by the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method.

Nested off-diagonal Bethe ansatz and exact solutions of the su(n) spin chain with generic integrable boundaries

The nested off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method is proposed to diagonalize multi-component integrable models with generic integrable boundaries. As an example, the exact solutions of the su(n)-invariant spin chain model with both periodic and non-diagonal boundaries are derived by constructing the nested T-Q relations based on the operator product identities among the fused transfer matrices and the asymptotic behavior of the transfer matrices.

Spin-1/2 XYZ model revisit: general solutions via off-diagonal Bethe ansatz

The spin-1/2 XYZ model with both periodic and anti-periodic boundary conditions is studied via the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method. The exact spectra of the Hamiltonians and the Bethe ansatz equations are derived by constructing the inhomogeneous T-Q relations, which allow us to treat both the even N (the number of lattice sites) and odd N cases simultaneously in an unified approach.

Thermodynamic limit and surface energy of the XXZ spin chain with arbitrary boundary fields

In two previous papers [26, 27], the exact solutions of the spin-1/2 chains with arbitrary boundary fields were constructed via the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz (ODBA). Here we introduce a method to approach the thermodynamic limit of those models. The key point is that at a sequence of degenerate points of the crossing parameter η=η_m, the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz equations (BAEs) can be reduced to the conventional ones. This allows us to extrapolate the formulae derived from the reduced BAEs to arbitrary ηcase with O(N^{-2}) corrections in the thermodynamic limit N\to\infty. As an example, the surface energy of the XXZ spin chain model with arbitrary boundary magnetic fields is derived exactly. This approach can be generalized to all the ODBA solvable models.

Completeness and Bethe root distribution of the spin-1/2 Heisenberg chain with arbitrary boundary fields

Recently, the XXX spin chain with arbitrary boundary fields was successfully solved [1] via the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method [2]. The correctness and the completeness of this solution were numerically verified by Nepomechie for one choice of the parameterizations [3]. In this paper, we discuss further the completeness of another parameterization of the Bethe ansatz equations and its reduction to the parallel boundary field case. The numerical results show that when the relative angle between the boundary fields turns to zero, both the T-Q relations and the Bethe ansatz equations are reduced to the ones obtained by the conventional Bethe ansatz methods. This allows us to establish a one-to-one correspondence between the Bethe roots of the unparallel boundary field case and those of the parallel boundary field case. In the thermodynamic limit, those two sets of Bethe roots tend to the same and the contribution of the relative angle to the energy is in the order of 1/N.

Exact solution of the one-dimensional Hubbard model with arbitrary boundary magnetic fields

The one-dimensional Hubbard model with arbitrary boundary magnetic fields is solved exactly via the Bethe ansatz methods. With the coordinate Bethe ansatz in the charge sector, the second eigenvalue problem associated with the spin sector is constructed. It is shown that the second eigenvalue problem can be transformed into that of the inhomogeneous XXX spin chain with arbitrary boundary fields which can be solved via the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method.

Off-diagonal Bethe ansatz and exact solution of a topological spin ring

A general method is proposed for constructing the Bethe ansatz equations of integrable models without U(1) symmetry. As an example, the exact spectrum of the XXZ spin ring with M{\" o}bius like topological boundary condition is derived by constructing a modified T-Q relation based on the functional connection between the eigenvalues of the transfer matrix and the quantum determinant of the monodromy matrix. With the exact solution, the elementary excitations of the topological XX spin ring is discussed in detail. It is found that the excitation spectrum indeed shows a nontrivial topological nature.

Off-diagonal Bethe ansatz solutions of the anisotropic spin-1/2 chains with arbitrary boundary fields

The anisotropic spin-1/2 chains with arbitrary boundary fields are diagonalized with the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method. Based on the properties of the R-matrix and the K-matrices, an operator product identity of the transfer matrix is constructed at some special points of the spectral parameter. Combining with the asymptotic behavior (for XXZ case) or the quasi-periodicity properties (for XYZ case) of the transfer matrix, the extended T-Q ansatzs and the corresponding Bethe ansatz equations are derived.

Quantum speed limit for arbitrary initial states

We investigate the generic bound on the minimal evolution time of the open dynamical quantum system. This quantum speed limit time is applicable to both mixed and pure initial states. We then apply this result to the damped Jaynes-Cummings model and the Ohimc-like dephasing model starting from a general time-evolution state. The bound of this time-dependent state at any point in time can be found. For the damped Jaynes-Cummings model, the corresponding bound first decreases and then increases in the Markovian dynamics. While in the non-Markovian regime, the speed limit time shows an interesting periodic oscillatory behavior. For the case of Ohimc-like dephasing model, this bound would be gradually trapped to a fixed value. In addition, the roles of the relativistic effects on the speed limit time for the observer in non-inertial frames are discussed.

Tunable Band Topology Reflected by Fractional Quantum Hall States in Two-Dimensional Lattices

Two-dimensional lattice models subjected to an external effective magnetic field can form nontrivial band topologies characterized by nonzero integer band Chern numbers. In this Letter, we investigate such a lattice model originating from the Hofstadter model and demonstrate that the band topology transitions can be realized by simply introducing tunable longer-range hopping. The rich phase diagram of band Chern numbers is obtained for the simple rational flux density and a classification of phases is presented. In the presence of interactions, the existence of fractional quantum Hall states in both |C|=1 and |C|>1 bands is confirmed, which can reflect the band topologies in different phases. In contrast, when our model reduces to a one-dimensional lattice, the ground states are crucially different from fractional quantum Hall states. Our results may provide insights into the study of new fractional quantum Hall states and experimental realizations of various topological phases in optical lattices.

Hidden Sp(2s+1)- or SO(2s+1)-symmetry and new exactly solvable models in ultracold atomic systems

The high spin ultracold atom models with a special form of contact interactions, i.e., the scattering lengthes in the total spin-$2,4 \cdots$ channels are equal but may be different from that in the spin-0 channel, is studied. It is found that those models have either $Sp(2s+1)$-symmetry for the fermions or $SO(2s+1)$-symmetry for the bosons in the spin sector. Based on the symmetry analysis, a new class of exactly solvable models is proposed and solved via the Bethe ansatz. The ground states for repulsive fermions are also discussed.

Mixture of Tonks-Girardeau gas and Fermi gas in one-dimensional optical lattices

We study the Bose-Fermi mixture with infinitely boson-boson repulsion and finite boson-Fermion repulsion. By using a generalized Jordan-Wigner transformation, we show that the system can be mapped to a repulsive Hubbard model and thus can be solved exactly for the case with equal boson and fermion masses. By using the Bethe-ansatz solutions, we investigate the ground state properties of the mixture system. Our results indicate that the system with commensurate filling $n=1$ is a charge insulator but still a superfluid with non-vanishing superfluid density. We also briefly discuss the case with unequal masses for bosons and fermions.

Exact solutions of a one-dimensional mixture of spinor bosons and spinor fermions

The exact solutions of a one-dimensional mixture of spinor bosons and spinor fermions with $δ$-function interactions are studied. Some new sets of Bethe ansatz equations are obtained by using the graded nest quantum inverse scattering method. Many interesting features appear in the system. For example, the wave function has the $SU(2|2)$ supersymmetry. It is also found that the ground state of the system is partial polarized, where the fermions form a spin singlet state and the bosons are totally polarized. From the solution of Bethe ansatz equations, it is shown that all the momentum, spin and isospin rapidities at the ground state are real if the interactions between the particles are repulsive; while the fermions form two-particle bounded states and the bosons form one large bound state, which means the bosons condensed at the zero momentum point, if the interactions are attractive. The charge, spin and isospin excitations are discussed in detail. The thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations are also derived and their solutions at some special cases are obtained analytically.

Fidelity susceptibility in the two-dimensional transverse field Ising and XXZ models

We study the fidelity susceptibility in the two-dimensional(2D) transverse field Ising model and the 2D XXZ model numerically. It is found that in both models, the fidelity susceptibility as a function of the driving parameter diverges at the critical points. The validity of the fidelity susceptibility to signal for the quantum phase transition is thus verified in these two models. We also compare the scaling behavior of the extremum of the fidelity susceptibility to that of the second derivative of the ground state energy. From those results, the theoretical argument that fidelity susceptibility is a more sensitive seeker for a second order quantum phase transition is also testified in the two models.
