Unified Value Alignment for Generative Recommendation in Industrial Advertising

Generative Recommendation (GR) reformulates recommendation as a next-token generation problem and has shown promise in industrial applications. However, extending GR to industrial advertising is non-trivial because the system must optimize not only user interest but also commercial value. Existing GR pipelines remain largely semantics-centric, making it difficult to align value signals across tokenization, decoding, and online serving. To address this issue, we propose UniVA, a Unified Value Alignment framework for advertising recommendation. We first introduce a Commercial SID tokenizer that injects value-related attributes into SID construction, yielding value-discriminative item representations. We then develop a Generation-as-Ranking SID Decoder jointly optimized by supervised learning and eCPM-aware reinforcement learning, which fuses value scores into next-item SID generation to perform generation and ranking in one decoding process. Finally, we design a value-guided personalized beam search that reuses generation-as-ranking logits as online value guidance and applies a personalized trie tree to constrain decoding to request-valid SID paths. Experiments on the Tencent WeChat Channels advertising platform show that UniVA achieves a 37.04\% improvement in offline Hit Rate@100 over the baseline and a 1.5\% GMV lift in online A/B tests.

VISTA: Variance-Gated Inter-Sequence Test-Time Adaptation for Multi-Sequence MRI Segmentation

Deploying multi-sequence magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) segmentation models to new clinical environments is challenging due to variations in scanners and acquisition protocols. Although existing TTA methods handle basic per-modality shifts, they often fail under a fundamental dual-shift problem, as their adaptation signals fail to capture modality-interaction shifts that disrupt inter-sequence consistency. To address this, we propose Variance-gated Inter-Sequence Test-time Adaptation (VISTA), a source-free framework that tackles modality-interaction shifts. First, we design an Inter-Sequence Intervention Generator (ISIG) that generates a set of consistency probes by swapping low-frequency spectra and entropy-localized patches across sequences, preserving anatomical semantics while challenging inter-sequence dependencies. Second, we introduce Cross-View Disagreement-Aware Pseudo Labeling (CDPL), which establishes a voxel-wise reliability metric using cross-view disagreement variance to dynamically gate self-training and enforce interventional consistency, encouraging the network to rely on robust anatomical semantics. Extensive experiments adapting from standard adult MRI (BraTS-GLI-Pre) to African low-field (BraTS-SSA) and pediatric (BraTS-PED) cohorts show improved performance over competing methods under clinical shifts, achieving absolute Dice improvements of +1.89% (SSA) and +2.82% (PED) over the source model. The code is available at https://github.com/dzp2095/VISTA.

Learning Context-aware Task Reasoning for Efficient Meta-reinforcement Learning

Despite recent success of deep network-based Reinforcement Learning (RL), it remains elusive to achieve human-level efficiency in learning novel tasks. While previous efforts attempt to address this challenge using meta-learning strategies, they typically suffer from sampling inefficiency with on-policy RL algorithms or meta-overfitting with off-policy learning. In this work, we propose a novel meta-RL strategy to address those limitations. In particular, we decompose the meta-RL problem into three sub-tasks, task-exploration, task-inference and task-fulfillment, instantiated with two deep network agents and a task encoder. During meta-training, our method learns a task-conditioned actor network for task-fulfillment, an explorer network with a self-supervised reward shaping that encourages task-informative experiences in task-exploration, and a context-aware graph-based task encoder for task inference. We validate our approach with extensive experiments on several public benchmarks and the results show that our algorithm effectively performs exploration for task inference, improves sample efficiency during both training and testing, and mitigates the meta-overfitting problem.

The generalized Turán number of spanning linear forests

Let F\mathcal{F} be a family of graphs. A graph GG is called \textit{F\mathcal{F}-free} if for any F∈FF\in \mathcal{F}, there is no subgraph of GG isomorphic to FF. Given a graph TT and a family of graphs F\mathcal{F}, the generalized Turán number of F\mathcal{F} is the maximum number of copies of TT in an F\mathcal{F}-free graph on nn vertices, denoted by ex(n,T,F)ex(n,T,\mathcal{F}). A linear forest is a graph whose connected components are all paths or isolated vertices. Let Ln,k\mathcal{L}_{n,k} be the family of all linear forests of order nn with kk edges and Ks,t∗K^*_{s,t} a graph obtained from Ks,tK_{s,t} by substituting the part of size ss with a clique of the same size. In this paper, we determine the exact values of ex(n,Ks,Ln,k)ex(n,K_s,\mathcal{L}_{n,k}) and ex(n,Ks,t∗,Ln,k)ex(n,K^*_{s,t},\mathcal{L}_{n,k}). Also, we study the case of this problem when the \textit{"host graph"} is bipartite. Denote by exbip(n,T,F)ex_{bip}(n,T,\mathcal{F}) the maximum possible number of copies of TT in an F\mathcal{F}-free bipartite graph with each part of size nn. We determine the exact value of exbip(n,Ks,t,Ln,k)ex_{bip}(n,K_{s,t},\mathcal{L}_{n,k}). Our proof is mainly based on the shifting method.
