On the Brauer-Picard groups of fusion categories

We develop methods of computation of the Brauer-Picard groups of fusion categories and apply them to compute such groups for several classes of fusion categories of prime power dimension: representation categories of elementary abelian groups with twisted associativity constraint, extra special p-groups, and the Kac-Paljutkin Hopf algebra. We conclude that many finite groups of Lie type occur as composition factors of the Brauer-Picard groups of pointed fusion categories.

Poisson reduction of the space of polygons

A family of Poisson structures, parametrised by an arbitrary odd periodic function $ϕ$, is defined on the space $\cW$ of twisted polygons in $\RR^ν$. Poisson reductions with respect to two Poisson group actions on $\cW$ are described. The $ν=2$ and $ν=3$ cases are discussed in detail and the general $ν$ case in less detail. Amongst the Poisson structures arising in examples are to be found the lattice Virasoro structure, the second Toda lattice structure and some extended Toda lattice structures. A general result is proved showing that, for any $ν$, to certain concrete choices of $ϕ$ there correspond compatible Poisson structures which generate all the extended bigraded Toda hierarchies of a suitable size.

Extended matrix Gelfand-Dickey hierarchies: reduction to classical Lie algebras

The Drinfeld-Sokolov reduction method has been used to associate with $gl_n$ extensions of the matrix r-KdV system. Reductions of these systems to the fixed point sets of involutive Poisson maps, implementing reduction of $gl_n$ to classical Lie algebras of type $B, C, D$, are here presented. Modifications corresponding, in the first place to factorisation of the Lax operator, and then to Wakimoto realisations of the current algebra components of the factorisation, are also described.
