Entanglement-Assisted and Subsystem Quantum Codes: New Propagation Rules and Constructions

This paper proposes new propagation rules on quantum codes in the entanglement-assisted and in quantum subsystem scenarios. The rules lead to new families of such quantum codes whose parameters are demonstrably optimal. To obtain the results, we devise tools to puncture and shorten codes in ways that ensure their Hermitian hulls have certain desirable properties. More specifically, we give a general framework to construct $k$-dimensional generalized Reed-Solomon codes whose Hermitian hulls are $(k-1)$-dimensional maximum distance separable codes.

Fractional revival on abelian Cayley graphs

Fractional revival, known as a quantum transport phenomenon, is essential for entanglement generation in quantum spin networks. The concept of fractional revival is a generalization of perfect state transfer and periodicity on graphs. In this paper, we propose a sufficient and necessary condition for abelian Cayley graphs having fractional revival between any two distinct vertices. With this characterization, two general constructions of abelian Cayley graphs having fractional revival is presented. Meanwhile, we establish several new families of abelian Cayley graphs admitting fractional revival.

A new generalized inverse of matrices from core-EP decomposition

A new generalized inverse for a square matrix $H\in\mathbb{C}^{n\times n}$, called CCE-inverse, is established by the core-EP decomposition and Moore-Penrose inverse $H^†$. We propose some characterizations of the CCE-inverse. Furthermore, two canonical forms of the CCE-inverse are presented. At last, we introduce the definitions of CCE-matrices and $k$-CCE matrices, and prove that CCE-matrices are the same as $i$-EP matrices studied by Wang and Liu in [The weak group matrix, Aequationes Mathematicae, 93(6): 1261-1273, 2019].
