Using dynamical stability of symplectic curvature flow, we show that on a compact Calabi-Yau manifold, any small symplectic deformation of a Kähler form remains Kähler.
We introduce a new curvature flow which matches with the Ricci flow on metrics and preserves the almost Hermitian condition. This enables us to use Ricci flow to study almost Hermitian manifolds.
In this paper, we prove an existence result for Kähler-Einstein metrics on $\mathbb Q$-Fano compactifications of Lie groups. As an application, we classify $\mathbb Q$-Fano compactifications of $SO_4(\mathbb C)$ which admit a Kähler-Einstein metric with the same volume as that of a smooth Fano compactification of $SO_4(\mathbb C)$.
In this paper, we give the asymptotic expansion of $n_{0,d}$ and $n_{1,d}$.
In this paper we investigate the differential geometric and algebro-geometric properties of the noncollapsing limit in the continuity method that was introduced by the first two named authors in \cite{LaTi14}.
We consider triholomorphic maps from an almost hyper-Hermitian manifold $\mathcal{M}^{4m}$ into a hyperKähler manifold $\mathcal{N}^{4n}$. This means that $u \in W^{1,2}$ satisfies a quaternionic del-bar equation. We work under the assumption that $u$ is locally strongly approximable in $W^{1,2}$ by smooth maps: then such maps are almost stationary harmonic (when $\mathcal{M}$ is hyperKähler as well, then stationary harmonic). We show that in this more general situation the classical $ε$-regularity result still holds. We then address compactness issues for a weakly converging sequence $u_\ell \rightharpoonup u_\infty$ of strongly approximable triholomorphic maps $u_\ell:\mathcal{M} \to \mathcal{N}$ with uniformly bounded Dirichlet energies. The blow up analysis leads, as in the usual stationary setting, to the existence of a rectifiable blow-up set $Σ$ of codimension $2$, away from which the sequence converges strongly. The defect measure $Θ(x) {\mathcal{H}}^{4m-2} \llcorner Σ$ encodes the loss of energy in the limit; we prove that for a.e. point on $Σ$ the value of $Θ$ is given by the sum of energies of a (finite) number of smooth non-constant holomorphic bubbles (here the holomorphicity is understood w.r.t. a complex structure on $\mathcal{N}$ that depends on the chosen point on $Σ$). In the case that $\mathcal{M}$ is hyperKähler this result was established by C. Y. Wang (2003) with a different proof; we rely on Lorentz space estimates. By means of a calibration and a homological argument we further prove that for each portion of $Σ\setminus \text{Sing}_{u_\infty}$ contained in a Lipschitz graph we find a unique alm. compl. st. on $\mathcal{M}$ that makes the portion pseudoholomorphic and smooth, with $Θ$ constant; moreover the bubbles originating at points of such a smooth piece are holomorphic for a common complex structure.
In this paper, we prove that the $L^4$-norm of Ricci curvature is uniformly bounded along a Kähler-Ricci flow on any minimal algebraic manifold. As an application, we show that on any minimal algebraic manifold $M$ of general type and with dimension $n\le 3$, any solution of the normalized Kähler-Ricci flow converges to the unique singular Kähler-Einstein metric on the canonical model of $M$ in the Cheeger-Gromov topology.
This note corrects a mistake in the original book in the evolution equations of total curvature for the curve-shrinking flow in an ambient Ricci Flow. The resulting upper bound for the evolution of total curvature is an exponential bound in time. The change involves the multiplicative constant. Here we show that it depends on the initial total curvature and the initial length, rather than just on the initial total curvature as was asserted before. This change does not affect the application of these results to prove finite-time extinction when the third homotopy group of the manifold is non-trivial.
In this note, we prove that any non-collapsing and compact Gromov-Hausdorff limit of Kahler-Einstein manifolds is either smooth or is orbifold outside a subvariety of complex codimension at least 3.
In this paper, we apply the method developed in [Ti97] and [TZ00] to proving the properness of log $F$-functional on any conic Kähler-Einstein manifolds. As an application, we give an alternative proof for the openness of the continuity method through conic Kähler-Einstein metrics.
We obtain a compactness result for Fano manifolds and Kähler Ricci flows. Comparing to the more general Riemannian versions by Anderson and Hamilton, in this Fano case, the curvature assumption is much weaker and is preserved by the Kähler Ricci flows. One assumption is the boundedness of the Ricci potential and the other is the smallness of Perelman's entropy. As one application, we obtain a new local regularity criteria and structure result for Kähler Ricci flows. The proof is based on a Hölder estimate for the gradient of harmonic functions, which may be of independent interest.
We introduce a new continuity method which provides an alternative way of carrying out the Analytic Minimal Model Program introduced by G. Tian and J. Song and G. Tian. This equation -- unlike the Ricci flow -- has the advantage of having Ricci curvature bounded from below along the deformation, so that the compactness theory of Cheeger-Colding-Tian for Kaehler manifolds and the partial $C^0$-estimate, can be applied.
The gauged Witten equation was essentially introduced by Witten in his formulation of gauged linear $σ$-model (GLSM). GLSM is a physics theory which explains the so-called Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence. This is the first paper in a series towards a mathematical construction of GLSM. In this paper we study some analytical properties of the gauged Witten equation for a Lagrange multiplier type superpotential. It contains the asymptotic property of finite energy solutions, the linear Fredholm property, the uniform $C^0$-bound, and the compactness of the moduli space of solutions over a fixed smooth $r$-spin curve with uniform energy bound.
This is the second paper in a series following arXiv:1405.6352, on the construction of a mathematical theory of the gauged linear $σ$-model (GLSM). In this paper, assuming the existence of virtual moduli cycles and their certain properties, we define the correlation function of GLSM for a fixed smooth rigidified $r$-spin curve.
In this paper, we prove that any polarized K-stable manifold is CM-stable. This extends what I did for Fano manifolds in my 2012 paper.
Let $({\M}, g(t))$ be a Kähler Ricci flow with positive first Chern class. We prove a uniform isoperimetric inequality for all time. In the process we also prove a Cheng-Yau type log gradient bound for positive harmonic functions on $({\M}, g(t))$, and a Poincaré inequality without assuming the Ricci curvature is bounded from below.
In this new version, we correct some typos. For the readers' convenience, we also added some footnotes and more details for certain lemmas and theorems.
In this short note we announce a regularity theorem for Kähler-Ricci flow on a compact Fano manifold (Kähler manifold with positive first Chern class) and its application to the limiting behavior of Kähler-Ricci flow on Fano 3-manifolds. Moreover, we also present a partial $C^0$ estimate to the Kähler-Ricci flow under the regularity assumption, which extends previous works on Kähler-Einstein metrics and shrinking Kähler-Ricci solitons (cf. \cite{Ti90}, \cite{DoSu12}, \cite{Ti12}, \cite{PSS12}). The detailed proof will appear in \cite{TiZh13}.
In this paper, we will establish a regularity theory for the Kähler-Ricci flow on Fano $n$-manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded in $L^p$-norm for some $p > n$. Using this regularity theory, we will also solve a long-standing conjecture for dimension 3. As an application, we give a new proof of the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture for Fano 3-manifolds. The results have been announced in \cite{TiZh12b}.
In prior work the authors introduced a parabolic flow of pluriclosed metrics. Here we give improved regularity results for solutions to this equation. Furthermore, we exhibit this equation as the gradient flow of the lowest eigenvalue of a certain Schrödinger operator, and show the existence of an expanding entropy functional for this flow. Finally, we motivate a conjectural picture of the optimal regularity results for this flow, and discuss some of the consequences.
This is essentially an expository note based on S. Paul's works on the stability of pairs. Its connection to K-stability will be also discussed.
In this paper, we introduce an α-flow for the Yang-Mills functional in vector bundles over four dimensional Riemannian manifolds, and establish global existence of a unique smooth solution to the α-flow with smooth initial value. We prove that the limit of solutions of the α-flow as α\to 1 is a weak solution to the Yang-Mills flow. By an application of the α-flow, we then follow the idea of Sacks and Uhlenbeck to prove some existence results for Yang-Mills connections and improve the minimizing result of the Yang-Mills functional of Sedlacek.
In prior work the authors introduced a parabolic flow for pluriclosed metrics, referred to as pluriclosed flow. We also demonstrated that this flow, after certain gauge transformations, gives a class of solutions to the renormalization group flow of the nonlinear sigma model with B-field. Using these transformations, we show that our pluriclosed flow preserves generalized Kahler structures in a natural way. Equivalently, when coupled with a nontrivial evolution equation for the two complex structures, the B-field renormalization group flow also preserves generalized Kahler structure. We emphasize that it is crucial to evolve the complex structures in the right way to establish this fact.
We show that timelike maximal cylinders in $\RR^{1 + 2}$ always develop singularities in finite time and that, infinitesimally at a generic singularity, their time slices are evolved by a rigid motion or a self-similar motion. We also prove a mild generalization in non-flat backgrounds.
In this paper, we study the structure of the limit space of a sequence of almost Einstein manifolds, which are generalizations of Einstein manifolds. Roughly speaking, such manifolds are the initial manifolds of some normalized Ricci flows whose scalar curvatures are almost constants over space-time in the $L^1$-sense, Ricci curvatures are bounded from below at the initial time. Under the non-collapsed condition, we show that the limit space of a sequence of almost Einstein manifolds has most properties which is known for the limit space of Einstein manifolds. As applications, we can apply our structure results to study the properties of Kähler manifolds.
We introduce a parabolic flow of almost Kahler structures, providing an approach to constructing canonical geometric structures on symplectic manifolds. We exhibit this flow as one of a family of parabolic flows of almost Hermitian structures, generalizing our previous work on parabolic flows of Hermitian metrics. We exhibit a long time existence obstruction for solutions to this flow by showing certain smoothing estimates for the curvature and torsion. We end with a discussion of the limiting objects as well as some open problems related to the symplectic curvature flow.
We show that the scalar curvature is uniformly bounded for the normalized Kahler-Ricci flow on a Kahler manifold with semi-ample canonical bundle. In particular, the normalized Kahler-Ricci flow has long time existence if and only if the scalar curvature is uniformly bounded, for Kahler surfaces, projective manifolds of complex dimension three, and for projective manifolds of all dimensions if assuming the abundance conjecture.
In this paper, we give an alternative proof for the convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano mnaifold $(M,J)$. This proof differs from that in [TZ3]. Moreover, we generalize the main theorem of [TZ3] to the case that $(M,J)$ may not admit any Kähler-Einstein metrics.
In this paper, we extend the method in [TZhu5] to study the energy level $L(\cdot)$ of Perelman's entropy $λ(\cdot)$ for Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano manifold. Consequently, we first compute the supremum of $λ(\cdot)$ in Kähler class $2πc_1(M)$ under an assumption that the modified Mabuchi's K-energy $μ(\cdot)$ defined in [TZhu2] is bounded from below. Secondly, we give an alternative proof to the main theorem about the convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow in [TZhu3].
Let $(Y, d)$ be a Gromov-Hausdorff limit of $n$-dimensional closed shrinking Kähler-Ricci solitons with uniformly bounded volumes and Futaki invariants. We prove that off a closed subset of codimension at least 4, Y is a smooth manifold satisfying a shrinking Kähler-Ricci soliton equation. A similar convergence result for Kähler-Ricci flow of positive first Chern class is also obtained.
