Semi-Supervised Clustering with Contrastive Learning for Discovering New Intents

Most dialogue systems in real world rely on predefined intents and answers for QA service, so discovering potential intents from large corpus previously is really important for building such dialogue services. Considering that most scenarios have few intents known already and most intents waiting to be discovered, we focus on semi-supervised text clustering and try to make the proposed method benefit from labeled samples for better overall clustering performance. In this paper, we propose Deep Contrastive Semi-supervised Clustering (DCSC), which aims to cluster text samples in a semi-supervised way and provide grouped intents to operation staff. To make DCSC fully utilize the limited known intents, we propose a two-stage training procedure for DCSC, in which DCSC will be trained on both labeled samples and unlabeled samples, and achieve better text representation and clustering performance. We conduct experiments on two public datasets to compare our model with several popular methods, and the results show DCSC achieve best performance across all datasets and circumstances, indicating the effect of the improvements in our work.

Thermomechanical properties of polypropylene and styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene blends: a molecular simulation and experimental study

Polymer blends consisting of two or more polymers are important for a wide variety of industries and processes, but, the precise mechanism of their thermomechanical behaviour is incompletely understood. In order to understand clearly, it is essential to determine the miscibility and interactions between the components in polymer blend and its macroscopic thermomechanical properties. In this study, we performed experiments on SEBS and isotactic PP blends (SP) as well as molecular dynamics simulations, aiming to know the role played by molecular interactions on the thermomechanical properties. To investigate the glass transition temperature (Tg) of SEBS, PP and their blends at different ratio, the unit cell of the polymer molecular structure of each was established. The LAMMPS molecular dynamics method was used to predict the density, specific volume, free volume, enthalpy, kinetic energy, potential energy and bond energy. The (Tg) s of the SEBS, PP and SP blends were predicted by analysing these properties. Interestingly, the simulated values of the Tg of SEBS, PP and their blends showed good agreement with our experimental results obtained from dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). This technique used in this work can be used in studying glass transition of other complex polymer blends.

K-Commuting Mappings of Generalized Matrix Algebras

In this paper we will study $k$-commuting mappings of generalized matrix algebras. The general form of arbitrary $k$-commuting mapping of a generalized matrix algebra is determined. It is shown that under mild assumptions, every $k$-commuting mapping of a generalized matrix algebra takes a certain form which is said to be proper. A number of applications related to $k$-commuting mappings are presented. These results extend the existing works of Cheung, Du and Wang \cite{Cheung2, DuWang1} to the case of generalized matrix

Lie Biderivations on Triangular Algebras

Let $\mathcal{T}$ be a triangular algebra over a commutative ring $\mathcal{R}$ and $φ: \mathcal{T} \times \mathcal{T}\longrightarrow \mathcal{T}$ be an arbitrary Lie biderivation of $\mathcal{T}$. We will address the question of describing the form of $φ$ in the current work. It is shown that under certain mild assumptions, $φ$ is the sum of an inner biderivation and an extremal biderivation and a some central bilinear mapping. Our results is immediately applied to block upper triangular algebras and Hilbert space nest algebras .

Multiplicative Lie-type derivations on alternative rings

Let $\R$ be an alternative ring containing a nontrivial idempotent and $\D$ be a multiplicative Lie-type derivation from $\R$ into itself. Under certain assumptions on $\R$, we prove that $\D$ is almost additive. Let $p_n(x_1, x_2, \cdots, x_n)$ be the $(n-1)$-th commutator defined by $n$ indeterminates $x_1, \cdots, x_n$. If $\R$ is a unital alternative ring with a nontrivial idempotent and is $\{2,3,n-1,n-3\}$-torsion free, it is shown under certain condition of $\R$ and $\D$, that $\D=δ+τ$, where $δ$ is a derivation and $τ\colon\R\longrightarrow{\mathcal Z}(\R)$ such that $τ(p_n(a_1,\ldots,a_n))=0$ for all $a_1,\ldots,a_n\in\R$.

Twitter Bot Detection Using Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory Neural Networks and Word Embeddings

Twitter is a web application playing dual roles of online social networking and micro-blogging. The popularity and open structure of Twitter have attracted a large number of automated programs, known as bots. Legitimate bots generate a large amount of benign contextual content, i.e., tweets delivering news and updating feeds, while malicious bots spread spam or malicious contents. To assist human users in identifying who they are interacting with, this paper focuses on the classification of human and spambot accounts on Twitter, by employing recurrent neural networks, specifically bidirectional Long Short-term Memory (BiLSTM), to efficiently capture features across tweets. To the best of our knowledge, our work is the first that develops a recurrent neural model with word embeddings to distinguish Twitter bots from human accounts, that requires no prior knowledge or assumption about users' profiles, friendship networks, or historical behavior on the target account. Moreover, our model does not require any handcrafted features. The preliminary simulation results are very encouraging. Experiments on the cresci-2017 dataset show that our approach can achieve competitive performance compared with existing state-of-the-art bot detection systems.

Characterizations of Lie Higher Derivations on J-Subspace Lattice Algebras

Let $\mathcal{L}$ be a $\mathcal{J}$-subspace lattice on a Banach space $X$ over the real or complex field $\mathbb{F}$ and $ \mathrm{Alg}\mathcal{L}$ be the associated $\mathcal{J}$-subspace lattice algebras. In this paper, we characterize the structure of a family $\{L_n\}_{n=0}^{\infty}: \mathrm{Alg}\mathcal{L}\rightarrow \mathrm{Alg}\mathcal{L}$ of linear mappings satisfying the condition $$L_n([A, B])=\sum_{i+j=n}[L_i(A), L_j(B)]$$ for any $A, B\in\mathrm{Alg}\mathcal{L}$ with $AB = 0$. Moreover, the family $\{L_n\}_{n=0}^{\infty}: \mathrm{Alg}\mathcal{L}\rightarrow \mathrm{Alg}\mathcal{L}$ of linear mappings satisfying $L_n([A, B]_ξ)=\sum_{i+j=n}[L_i(A), L_j(B)]_ξ$ for any $A, B\in\mathrm{Alg}\mathcal{L}$ with $AB = 0$ and $1\neq ξ\in \mathbb{F}$ is also considered in the current work.

The Iwasawa Algebra $Ω_G$ and Its Dual Artin Coalgebra

For any compact $p$-adic Lie group $G$, the Iwasawa algebra $Ω_G$ over finite field $\mathbb{F}_p$ is a complete noetherian semilocal algebra. It is shown that $Ω_G$ is the dual algebra of an artinian coalgebra $C$. We induce a duality between the derived category $\mathcal{D}^b_{fg}(_{Ω_G}\mathcal{M})$ of bounded complexes of left $Ω_G$-modules with finitely generated cohomology modules and the derived category $\mathcal{D}^b_{qf}(^C\mathcal{M})$ of bounded complexes of left $C$-comodules with quasi-finite cohomology comodules.

Upper bound for the Dvoretzky dimension in Milman-Schechtman theorem

For a symmetric convex body $K\subset\mathbb{R}^n$, the Dvoretzky dimension $k(K)$ is the largest dimension for which a random central section of $K$ is almost spherical. A Dvoretzky-type theorem proved by V.~D.~Milman in 1971 provides a lower bound for $k(K)$ in terms of the average $M(K)$ and the maximum $b(K)$ of the norm generated by $K$ over the Euclidean unit sphere. Later, V.~D.~Milman and G. Schechtman obtained a matching upper bound for $k(K)$ in the case when $\frac{M(K)}{b(K)}>c(\frac{\log(n)}{n})^{\frac{1}{2}}$. In this paper, we will give an elementary proof of the upper bound in Milman-Schechtman theorem which does not require any restriction on $M(K)$ and $b(K)$.

Centralizing traces and Lie triple isomorphisms on generalized matrix algebras

Let $\mathcal{G}$ be a generalized matrix algebra over a commutative ring $\mathcal{R}$ and $\mathcal{Z(G)}$ be the center of $\mathcal{G}$. Suppose that ${\mathfrak q}\colon \mathcal{G}\times \mathcal{G}\longrightarrow \mathcal{G}$ is an $\mathcal{R}$-bilinear mapping and ${\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}\colon \mathcal{G}\longrightarrow \mathcal{G}$ is the trace of $\mathfrak{q}$. We describe the form of ${\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}$ satisfying the condition $[{\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}(G), G]\in \mathcal{Z(G)}$ for all $G\in \mathcal{G}$. The question of when ${\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}$ has the proper form is considered. Using the aforementioned trace function, we establish sufficient conditions for each Lie triple isomorphism of $\mathcal{G}$ to be almost standard. As applications we characterize Lie triple isomorphisms of full matrix algebras, of triangular algebras and of certain unital algebras with nontrivial idempotents. Some topics for future research closely related to our current work are proposed at the end of this article.

Centralizing Traces and Lie Triple Isomorphisms on Triangular Algebras

Let $\mathcal{T}$ be a triangular algebra over a commutative ring $\mathcal{R}$ and $\mathcal{Z(T)}$ be the center of $\mathcal{T}$. Suppose that ${\mathfrak q}\colon \mathcal{T}\times \mathcal{T}\longrightarrow \mathcal{T}$ is an $\mathcal{R}$-bilinear mapping and that ${\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}\colon: \mathcal{T}\longrightarrow \mathcal{T}$ is a trace of $\mathfrak{q}$. We describe the form of ${\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}$ satisfying the condition $[{\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}(T), T]\in \mathcal{Z(T)}$ for all $T\in \mathcal{T}$. The question of when ${\mathfrak T}_{\mathfrak q}$ has the proper form will be addressed. Using the aforementioned trace function, we establish sufficient conditions for each Lie triple isomorphism on $\mathcal{T}$ to be almost standard. As applications we characterize Lie triple isomorphisms of triangular matrix algebras and nest algebras. Some further research topics related to current work are proposed at the end of this article.

Jordan Derivations of some extension algebras

In this paper, we mainly study Jordan derivations of dual extension algebras and those of generalized one-point extension algebras. It is shown that every Jordan derivation of dual extension algebras is a derivation. As applications, we obtain that every Jordan generalized derivation and every generalized Jordan derivation on dual extension algebras are both generalized derivations. For generalized one-point extension algebras, it is proved that under certain conditions, each Jordan derivation of them is the sum of a derivation and an anti-derivation.

Jordan Derivations and Antiderivations of Generalized Matrix Algebras

Let $\mathcal{G}=[A & M N & B]$ be a generalized matrix algebra defined by the Morita context $(A, B,_AM_B,_BN_A, Φ_{MN}, Ψ_{NM})$. In this article we mainly study the question of whether there exist proper Jordan derivations for the generalized matrix algebra $\mathcal{G}$. It is shown that if one of the bilinear pairings $Φ_{MN}$ and $Ψ_{NM}$ is nondegenerate, then every antiderivation of $\mathcal{G}$ is zero. Furthermore, if the bilinear pairings $Φ_{MN}$ and $Ψ_{NM}$ are both zero, then every Jordan derivation of $\mathcal{G}$ is the sum of a derivation and an antiderivation. Several constructive examples and counterexamples are presented.

Multicolor Graphene Nanoribbon/Semiconductor Nanowire Heterojunction Light-Emitting Diodes

We report novel graphene nanoribbon (GNR)/semiconductor nanowire (SNW) heterojunction light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for the first time. The GNR and SNW have a face-to-face contact structure, which has the merit of bigger active region. ZnO, CdS, and CdSe NWs were employed in our case. At forward biases, the GNR/SNW heterjunction LEDs could emit light with wavelengths varying from ultraviolet (380 nm) to green (513 nm) to red (705 nm), which were determined by the band-gaps of the involved SNWs. The mechanism of light emitting for the GNR/SNW heterojunction LED was discussed. Our approach can easily be extended to other semiconductor nano-materials. Moreover, our achievement opens the door to next-generation display technologies, including portable, "see-through", and conformable products.
