The "a1(1420)a_1(1420)" peak as the πf0(980)πf_0(980) decay mode of the a1(1260)a_1(1260)

We study the decay mode of the a1(1260)a_1(1260) into a π+π^+ in p-wave and the f0(980)f_0(980) that decays into π+π−π^+ π^- in s-wave. The mechanisms proceeds via a triangular mechanism where the a1(1260)a_1(1260) decays into K∗KˉK^* \bar K, the K∗K^* decays to an external π+π^+ and an internal KK that fuses with the Kˉ\bar K to produce the f0(980)f_0(980) resonance. The mechanism develops a singularity at a mass of the a1(1260)a_1(1260) around 1420 MeV, producing a peak in the cross section of the πpπp reaction, used to generate the mesonic final state, which provides a natural explanation of all the features observed in the COMPASS experiment, where a peak observed at this energy is tentatively associated to a new resonance called a1(1420)a_1(1420). On the other hand, the triangular singularity studied here gives rise to a remarkable feature, where a peak is seen for a certain decay channel of a resonance at an energy about 200 MeV higher than its nominal mass.

f1(1285)f_1(1285) decays into a0(980)π0a_0(980)π^0, f0(980)π0f_0(980)π^0 and isospin breaking

We evaluate the decay width for the processes f1(1285)→π0a0(980)f_1(1285) \to π^0 a_0(980) and f1(1285)→π0f0(980)f_1(1285) \to π^0 f_0(980) taking into account that all three resonances are dynamically generated from the meson-meson interaction, the f1(1285)f_1(1285) from K∗Kˉ−c.cK^* \bar K -c.c and the a0(980)a_0(980), f0(980)f_0(980) from πη,KKˉπη, K \bar K and ππ,KKˉππ, K \bar K respectively. We use a triangular mechanism similar to that of the η(1405)→ππηη(1405) \to ππη, which provides a decay width for f1(1285)→π0a0(980)f_1(1285) \to π^0 a_0(980) with a branching fraction of the order of 30%, in agreement with experiment. At the same time we evaluate the decay width for the isospin forbidden f1(1285)→π0f0(980)f_1(1285) \to π^0 f_0(980), which appears when we consider different masses for the charged and neutral kaons, and show that it is much more suppressed than in the η(1405)→ππηη(1405) \to ππη case, but gives rise to a narrow shape of the π+π−π^+ π^- distribution similar to the one found in the η(1405)→ππηη(1405) \to ππη decay.

The KKˉπK \bar K π decay of the f1(1285)f_1(1285) and its nature as a K∗Kˉ−ccK^* \bar K -cc molecule

We investigate the decay of f1(1285)→πKKˉf_1(1285) \to πK \bar K with the assumption that the f1(1285)f_1(1285) is dynamically generated from the K∗Kˉ−ccK^* \bar{K} - cc interaction. In addition to the tree level diagrams that proceed via f1(1285)→K∗Kˉ−cc→πKKˉf_1(1285) \to K^* \bar{K} - cc \to πK \bar K, we take into account also the final state interactions of KKˉ→KKˉK \bar K \to K \bar K and πK→πKπK \to πK. The partial decay width and mass distributions of f1(1285)→πKKˉf_1(1285) \to πK \bar K are evaluated. We get a value for the partial decay width which, within errors, is in fair agreement with the experimental result. The contribution from the tree level diagrams is dominant, but the final state interactions have effects in the mass distributions. The predicted mass distributions are significantly different from phase space and tied to the K∗Kˉ−ccK^* \bar{K} - cc nature of the f1(1285)f_1(1285) state.

Meson baryon components in the states of the baryon decuplet

We apply an extension of the Weinberg compositeness condition on partial waves of L=1L=1 and resonant states to determine the weight of meson-baryon component in the Δ(1232)Δ(1232) resonance and the other members of the JP=32+J^P= \frac{3}{2}^+ baryon decuplet. We obtain an appreciable weight of πNπN in the Δ(1232)Δ(1232) wave function, of the order of 60 \%, which looks more natural when one recalls that experiments on deep inelastic and Drell Yan give a fraction of πNπN component of 34 \% for the nucleon. We also show that, as we go to higher energies in the members of the decuplet, the weights of meson-baryon component decrease and they already show a dominant part for a genuine, non meson-baryon, component in the wave function. We write a section to interpret the meaning of the Weinberg sum-rule when it is extended to complex energies and another one for the case of an energy dependent potential.

Prediction of a Zc(4000)Z_c(4000) D∗Dˉ∗D^* \bar D^* state and relationship to the claimed Zc(4025)Z_c(4025)

After discussing the OZI suppression of one light meson exchange in the interaction of D∗Dˉ∗D^* \bar D^* with isospin I=1, we study the contribution of two pion exchange to the interaction and the exchange of a heavy vector J/ψJ/ψ. We find this latter mechanism weak but enough to barely bind the system in J=2 with a mass around 4000 MeV, while the effect of the two pion exchange is a net attraction but weaker than that from J/ψJ/ψ exchange. We discuss this state and try to relate it to the Zc(4025)Z_c(4025) state, above the D∗Dˉ∗D^* \bar D^* threshold, claimed in an experiment at BES from and enhancement of the D∗Dˉ∗D^* \bar D^* distribution close to threshold. Together with the results from a recent reanalysis of the BES experiment showing that it is compatible with a J=2 state below threshold around 3990 MeV, we conclude that the BES experiment could be showing the existence of the state that we find in our approach.

Prediction of an I=1I=1 DDˉ∗D \bar D^* state and relationship to the claimed Zc(3900)Z_c(3900), Zc(3885)Z_c(3885)

We study here the interaction of DDˉ∗D \bar D^* in the isospin I=1I=1 channel in the light of recent theoretical advances that allow to combine elements of the local hidden gauge approach with heavy quark spin symmetry. We find that the exchange of light qqˉq \bar q is OZI suppressed and, thus, we concentrate on the exchange of heavy vectors and of two pion exchange. The latter is found to be small compared to the exchange of heavy vectors, which then determines the strength of the interaction. A barely DDˉ∗D\bar{D}^* bound state decaying into ηcρη_cρ and πJ/ψπJ/ψ is found. At the same time we reanalyze the data of the BESIII experiment on e+e−→π±(DDˉ∗)∓e^+ e^- \to π^{\pm} (D \bar D^*)^\mp, from where a Zc(3885)Z_c(3885) state was claimed, associated to a peak in the (DDˉ∗)∓(D \bar D^*)^\mp invariant mass distribution close to threshold, and we find the data compatible with a resonance with mass around 38753875 MeV and width around 3030 MeV. We discuss the possibility that this and the Zc(3900)Z_c(3900) state found at BESIII, reconfirmed at 3896 MeV at Belle, or 3885 MeV at CLEO, could all be the same state and correspond to the one that we find theoretically.

Signature of an h1h_1 state from J/ψ→ηK∗0Kˉ∗0J/ψ\to ηK^{*0}\bar{K}^{*0} and theoretical description of the Zc(3900)Z_c(3900) and Zc(4020)Z_c(4020) as DDˉ∗D \bar D^* and D∗Dˉ∗D^* \bar D^* molecular states

In this talk we address two topics: The first one is an empirical explanation in terms of a new state h1h_1 of the peak in the K∗0Kˉ∗0K^{*0}\bar{K}^{*0} invariant mass distribution close to threshold of this channel in the J/ψ→ηK∗0Kˉ∗0J/ψ\to ηK^{*0}\bar{K}^{*0} decay. The second one is a theoretical description of the isospin I=1I=1 Zc(3900)Z_c(3900) and Zc(4020)Z_c(4020) states in terms of molecular states of DDˉ∗+ccD \bar D^*+ cc and D∗Dˉ∗D^* \bar D^*.

Study of BBˉ∗B\bar{B}^* and B∗Bˉ∗B^*\bar{B}^* interactions in I=1I=1 and relationship to the Zb(10610)Z_b(10610), Zb(10650)Z_b(10650) states

We use the local hidden gauge approach in order to study the BBˉ∗B\bar{B}^* and B∗Bˉ∗B^*\bar{B}^* interactions for isospin I=1. We show that both interactions via one light meson exchange are not allowed by OZI rule and, for that reason, we calculate the contributions due to the exchange of two pions, interacting and noninteracting among themselves, and also due to the heavy vector mesons. Then, to compare all these contributions, we use the potential related to the heavy vector exchange as an effective potential corrected by a factor which takes into account the contribution of the others light mesons exchange. In order to look for poles, this effective potential is used as the kernel of the Bethe-Salpeter equation. As a result, for the BBˉ∗B\bar{B}^* interaction we find a loosely bound state with mass in the range 10587−1060110587-10601 MeV, very close to the experimental value of the Zb(10610)Z_b(10610) reported by Belle Collaboration. For the B∗Bˉ∗B^*\bar{B}^* case, we find a cusp at 1065010650 MeV for all spin J=0, 1, 2J=0,\,1,\,2 cases.

The composite nature of the Λ(1520)Λ(1520) resonance

Recently, the Weinberg compositeness condition of a bound state was generalized to account for resonant states and higher partial waves. We apply this extension to the case of the Λ(1520)Λ(1520) resonance and quantify the weight of the meson-baryon components in contrast to other possible genuine building blocks. This resonance was theoretically obtained from a coupled channels analysis using the s-waves πΣ∗πΣ^*, KΞ∗KΞ^* and the d-waves KˉN\bar{K}N and πΣπΣ channels applying the techniques of the chiral unitary approach. We obtain that this resonance is essentially dynamically generated from these meson-baryon channels, leaving room for only 15%15 \% weight of other kind of components into its wave function.

Isospin breaking and f0(980)f_0(980)-a0(980)a_0(980) mixing in the η(1405)→π0f0(980)η(1405) \to π^{0} f_0(980) reaction

We make a theoretical study of the η(1405)→π0f0(980)η(1405) \to π^{0} f_0(980) and η(1405)→π0a0(980)η(1405) \to π^{0} a_0(980) reactions with an aim to determine the isospin violation and the mixing of the f0(980)f_0(980) and a0(980)a_0(980) resonances. We make use of the chiral unitary approach where these two resonances appear as composite states of two mesons, dynamically generated by the meson-meson interaction provided by chiral Lagrangians. We obtain a very narrow shape for the f0(980)f_0(980) production in agreement with a BES experiment. As to the amount of isospin violation, or f0(980)f_0(980) and a0(980)a_0(980) mixing, assuming constant vertices for the primary η(1405)→π0KKˉη(1405)\rightarrow π^{0}K\bar{K} and η(1405)→π0π0ηη(1405)\rightarrow π^{0}π^{0}η production, we find results which are much smaller than found in the recent experimental BES paper, but consistent with results found in two other related BES experiments. We have tried to understand this anomaly by assuming an I=1 mixture in the η(1405)η(1405) wave function, but this leads to a much bigger width of the f0(980)f_0(980) mass distribution than observed experimentally. The problem is solved by using the primary production driven by η′→K∗Kˉη' \to K^* \bar K followed by K∗→KπK^* \to K π, which induces an extra singularity in the loop functions needed to produce the f0(980)f_0(980) and a0(980)a_0(980) resonances. Improving upon earlier work along the same lines, and using the chiral unitary approach, we can now predict absolute values for the ratio Γ(π0,π+π−)/Γ(π0,π0η)Γ(π^0, π^+ π^-)/Γ(π^0, π^0 η) which are in fair agreement with experiment. We also show that the same results hold if we had the η(1475)η(1475) resonance or a mixture of these two states, as seems to be the case in the BES experiment.

The X(3872)→J/ψγX(3872) \to J/ψγ decay in the DDˉ∗D \bar D^* molecular picture

From a picture of the X(3872) where the resonance is a bound state of DˉD∗−c.c.\bar{D}D^*-c.c., we evaluate the decay width into the J/ψγJ/ψγ channel, which is sensitive to the internal structure of this state. For this purpose we evaluate the loops through which the X(3872) decays into its components, and the J/ψJ/ψ and the photon are radiated from these components. We use the local hidden gauge approach extrapolated to SU(4) with a particular SU(4) breaking. The radiative decay involves anomalous couplings and we obtain acceptable values which are compared to experiments and results of other calculations. Simultaneusly, we evaluate the decay rate for the X(3872) into J/ψωJ/ψω and J/ψρJ/ψρ, and the results obtained for the ratio of these decay widths are compatible with the experiment. We also show the grossly unacceptable results that come from taking only the Dˉ0D∗0+c.c.\bar{D}^0D^{*0}+c.c. component.

The small KπK π component in the K∗K^* wave functions

We use a recently developed formalism which generalizes the Weinberg's compositeness condition to partial waves higher than s-wave in order to determine the probability of having a KπK π component in the K∗K^* wave function. A fit is made to the KπK π phase shifts in p-wave, from where the coupling of K∗K^* to KπK π and the KπK π loop function are determined. These ingredients allow us to determine that the K∗K^* is a genuine state, different to a KπK π component, in a proportion of about 80%.

Wave functions of composite hadron states and relationship to couplings of scattering amplitudes for general partial waves

In this paper we present the connection between scattering amplitudes in momentum space and wave functions in coordinate space, generalizing previous work done for s-waves to any partial wave. The relationship to the wave function of the residues of the scattering amplitudes at the pole of bound states or resonances is investigated in detail. A sum rule obtained for the couplings provides a generalization to coupled channels, any partial wave and bound or resonance states, of Weinberg's compositeness condition, which was only valid for weakly bound states in one channel and s-wave. An example, requiring only experimental data, is shown for the ρρ meson indicating that it is not a composite particle of ππππ but something else.
