Bartnik Hilbert manifold structure on fibers of the scalar curvature and the constraint operator

We adapt the Bartnik method to provide a Hilbert manifold structure for the space of solutions, without KID's, to the vacuum constraint equations on compact manifold of any dimension $\geq 3$. In the course, we prove that some fibers of the scalar curvature or the constraint operator are Hilbert submanifolds. We also study some operators and inequalities related to the KID's operator. Finally we comment the adaptation to some non compact manifolds.

Smooth compactly supported solutions of some underdetermined elliptic PDE, with gluing applications

We give sufficient conditions for some underdetermined elliptic PDE of any order to construct smooth compactly supported solutions. In particular we show that two smooth elements in the kernel of certain underdetermined linear elliptic operators $P$ can be glued in a chosen region in order to obtain a new smooth solution. This new solution is exactly equal to the starting elements outside the gluing region. This result completely contrasts with the usual unique continuation for determined or overdetermined elliptic operators. As a corollary we obtain compactly supported solutions in the kernel of $P$ and also solutions vanishing in a chosen relatively compact open region. We apply the result for natural geometric and physics contexts such as divergence free fields or TT-tensors.

Unique continuation and extensions of Killing vectors at boundaries for stationary vacuum space-times

Generalizing Riemannian theorems of Anderson-Herzlich and Biquard, we show that two $(n+1)$-dimensional stationary vacuum space-times (possibly with cosmological constant $Λ\in \R$) that coincide up to order one along a timelike hypersurface $\mycal T$ are isometric in a neighbourhood of $\mycal T$. We further prove that KIDS of $\partial M$ extend to Killing vectors near $\partial M$. In the AdS type setting, we show unique continuation near conformal infinity if the metrics have the same conformal infinity and the same undetermined term. Extension near $\partial M$ of conformal Killing vectors of conformal infinity which leave the undetermined Fefferman-Graham term invariant is also established.

Localized gluing of Riemannian metrics in interpolating their scalar curvature

We show that two smooth nearby Riemannian metrics can be glued interpolating their scalar curvature. The resulting smooth metric is the same as the starting ones outside the gluing region and has scalar curvature interpolating between the original ones. One can then glue metrics while maintaining inequalities satisfied by the scalar curvature. We also glue asymptotically Euclidean metrics to Schwarzschild ones and the same for asymptotically Delaunay metrics, keeping bounds on the scalar curvature, if any. This extend the Corvino gluing near infinity to non-constant scalar curvature metrics.

Refined gluing for Vacuum Einstein constraint equations

We first show that the connected sum along submanifolds introduced by the second author for compact initial data sets of the vacuum Einstein system can be adapted to the asymptotically Euclidean and to the asymptotically hyperbolic context. Then, we prove that in any case, and generically, the gluing procedure can be localized, in order to obtain new solutions which coincide with the original ones outside of a neighborhood of the gluing locus.
