Asymmetric Galilean conformal algebras

The usual Galilean contraction procedure for generating new conformal symmetry algebras takes as input a number of symmetry algebras which are equivalent up to central charge. We demonstrate that the equivalence condition can be relaxed by inhomogeneously contracting the chiral algebras and present general results for the ensuing asymmetric Galilean algebras. Several examples relevant to conformal field theory are discussed in detail, including superconformal algebras and W-algebras. We also discuss how the Sugawara construction is modified in the asymmetric setting.

Mapping current and activity fluctuations in exclusion processes: consequences and open questions

Considering the large deviations of activity and current in the Asymmetric Simple Exclusion Process (ASEP), we show that there exists a non-trivial correspondence between the joint scaled cumulant generating functions of activity and current of two ASEPs with different parameters. This mapping is obtained by applying a similarity transform on the deformed Markov matrix of the source model in order to obtain the deformed Markov matrix of the target model. We first derive this correspondence for periodic boundary conditions, and show in the diffusive scaling limit (corresponding to the Weakly Asymmetric Simple Exclusion Processes, or WASEP) how the mapping is expressed in the language of Macroscopic Fluctuation Theory (MFT). As an interesting specific case, we map the large deviations of current in the ASEP to the large deviations of activity in the SSEP, thereby uncovering a regime of Kardar-Parisi-Zhang in the distribution of activity in the SSEP. At large activity, particle configurations exhibit hyperuniformity [Jack et al., PRL 114 060601 (2015)]. Using results from quantum spin chain theory, we characterize the hyperuniform regime by evaluating the small wavenumber asymptotic behavior of the structure factor at half-filling. Conversely, we formulate from the MFT results a conjecture for a correlation function in spin chains at any fixed total magnetization (in the thermodynamic limit). In addition, we generalize the mapping to the case of two open ASEPs with boundary reservoirs, and we apply it in the WASEP limit in the MFT formalism. This mapping also allows us to find a symmetry-breaking dynamical phase transition (DPT) in the WASEP conditioned by activity, from the prior knowledge of a DPT in the WASEP conditioned by the current.

Multi-graded Galilean conformal algebras

Galilean conformal algebras can be constructed by contracting a finite number of conformal algebras, and enjoy truncated $\mathbb{Z}$-graded structures. Here, we present a generalisation of the Galilean contraction procedure, giving rise to Galilean conformal algebras with truncated $\mathbb{Z}^{\otimesσ}$-gradings, $σ\in\mathbb{N}$. Detailed examples of these multi-graded Galilean algebras are provided, including extensions of the Galilean Virasoro and affine Kac-Moody algebras. We also derive the associated Sugawara constructions and discuss how these examples relate to multivariable extensions of Takiff algebras. We likewise apply our generalised contraction prescription to tensor products of $W_3$ algebras and obtain new families of higher-order Galilean $W_3$ algebras.

The $q$-Higgs and Askey-Wilson algebras

A $q$-analogue of the Higgs algebra, which describes the symmetry properties of the harmonic oscillator on the $2$-sphere, is obtained as the commutant of the $\mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(2) \oplus \mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(2)$ subalgebra of $\mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(4)$ in the $q$-oscillator representation of the quantized universal enveloping algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{u}(4))$. This $q$-Higgs algebra is also found as a specialization of the Askey--Wilson algebra embedded in the tensor product $U_q(\mathfrak{su}(1,1))\otimes U_q(\mathfrak{su}(1,1))$. The connection between these two approaches is established on the basis of the Howe duality of the pair $\big(\mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(4),U_q(\mathfrak{su}(1,1))\big)$.

The dual pair $\big(U_q(\mathfrak{su}(1,1)),\mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(2n)\big)$, $q$-oscillators and Askey-Wilson algebras

The universal Askey-Wilson algebra $AW(3)$ can be obtained as the commutant of $U_q(\mathfrak{su}(1,1))$ in $U_q(\mathfrak{su}(1,1))^{\otimes3}$. We analyze the commutant of $\mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(2)\oplus\mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(2)\oplus\mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(2)$ in $q$-oscillator representations of $\mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(6)$ and show that it also realizes $AW(3)$. These two pictures of $AW(3)$ are shown to be dual in the sense of Howe; this is made clear by highlighting the role of the intermediate Casimir elements of each members of the dual pair $\big(U_q(\mathfrak{su}(1,1)),\mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(6)\big)$. We also generalize these results. A higher rank extension of the Askey-Wilson algebra denoted $AW(n)$ can be defined as the commutant of $U_q(\mathfrak{su}(1,1))$ in $U_q(\mathfrak{su}(1,1))^{\otimes n}$ and a dual description of $AW(n)$ as the commutant of $\mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(2)^{\oplus n}$ in $q$-oscillator representations of $\mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(2n)$ is offered by calling upon the dual pair $\big(U_q(\mathfrak{su}(1,1)),\mathfrak{o}_{q^{1/2}}(2n)\big)$.

Multiple Actions of the Monodromy Matrix in $\mathfrak{gl}(2|1)$-Invariant Integrable Models

We study $\mathfrak{gl}(2|1)$ symmetric integrable models solvable by the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz. Using explicit formulas for the Bethe vectors we derive the actions of the monodromy matrix entries onto these vectors. We show that the result of these actions is a finite linear combination of Bethe vectors. The obtained formulas open a way for studying scalar products of Bethe vectors.

GL(3)-Based Quantum Integrable Composite Models. I. Bethe Vectors

We consider a composite generalized quantum integrable model solvable by the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz. Using explicit formulas of the action of the monodromy matrix elements onto Bethe vectors in the GL(3)-based quantum integrable models we prove a formula for the Bethe vectors of composite model. We show that this representation is a particular case of general coproduct property of the weight functions (Bethe vectors) found in the theory of the deformed Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation.

GL(3)-Based Quantum Integrable Composite Models. II. Form Factors of Local Operators

We study integrable models solvable by the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz and possessing the GL(3)-invariant R-matrix. We consider a composite model where the total monodromy matrix of the model is presented as a product of two partial monodromy matrices. Assuming that the last ones can be expanded into series with respect to the inverse spectral parameter we calculate matrix elements of the local operators in the basis of the transfer matrix eigenstates. We obtain determinant representations for these matrix elements. Thus, we solve the inverse scattering problem in a weak sense.

Higher Sugawara operators for the quantum affine algebras of type A

We give explicit formulas for the elements of the center of the completed quantum affine algebra in type $A$ at the critical level which are associated with the fundamental representations. We calculate the images of these elements under a Harish-Chandra-type homomorphism. These images coincide with those in the free field realization of the quantum affine algebra and reproduce generators of the $q$-deformed classical $W$-algebra of Frenkel and Reshetikhin.

Exact scattering matrix of graphs in magnetic field and quantum noise

We consider arbitrary quantum wire networks modelled by finite, noncompact, connected quantum graphs in the presence of an external magnetic field. We find a general formula for the total scattering matrix of the network in terms of its local scattering properties and its metric structure. This is applied to a quantum ring with $N$ external edges. Connecting the external edges of the ring to heat reservoirs, we study the quantum transport on the graph in ambient magnetic field. We consider two types of dynamics on the ring: the free Schrödinger and the free massless Dirac equations. For each case, a detailed study of the thermal noise is performed analytically. Interestingly enough, in presence of a magnetic field, the standard linear Johnson-Nyquist law for the low temperature behaviour of the thermal noise becomes nonlinear. The precise regime of validity of this effect is discussed and a typical signature of the underlying dynamics is observed.

Bethe Vectors of Quantum Integrable Models with GL(3) Trigonometric $R$-Matrix

We study quantum integrable models with GL(3) trigonometric $R$-matrix and solvable by the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz. Using the presentation of the universal Bethe vectors in terms of projections of products of the currents of the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\hat{\mathfrak{gl}}_3)$ onto intersections of different types of Borel subalgebras, we prove that the set of the nested Bethe vectors is closed under the action of the elements of the monodromy matrix.

Quantum Wire Network with Magnetic Flux

The charge transport and the noise of a quantum wire network, made of three semi-infinite external leads attached to a ring crossed by a magnetic flux, are investigated. The system is driven away from equilibrium by connecting the external leads to heat reservoirs with different temperatures and/or chemical potentials. The properties of the exact scattering matrix of this configuration as a function of the momentum, the magnetic flux and the transmission along the ring are explored. We derive the conductance and the noise, describing in detail the role of the magnetic flux. In the case of weak coupling between the ring and the reservoirs, a resonant tunneling effect is observed. We also discover that a non-zero magnetic flux has a strong impact on the usual Johnson-Nyquist law for the pure thermal noise at small temperatures.

Bethe Ansatz and Bethe Vectors Scalar Products

An integral presentation for the scalar products of nested Bethe vectors for the quantum integrable models associated with the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\hat{\mathfrak{gl}}_3)$ is given. This result is obtained in the framework of the universal Bethe ansatz, using presentation of the universal Bethe vectors in terms of the total currents of a "new" realization of the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\hat{\mathfrak{gl}}_3)$.

Eigenvectors of open XXZ and ASEP models for a class of non-diagonal boundary conditions

We present a generalization of the coordinate Bethe ansatz that allows us to solve integrable open XXZ and ASEP models with non-diagonal boundary matrices, provided their parameters obey some relations. These relations extend the ones already known in the literature in the context of algebraic or functional Bethe ansatz. The eigenvectors are represented as sums over cosets of the $BC_n$ Weyl group.

Complete Bethe Ansatz solution of the open spin-s XXZ chain with general integrable boundary terms

We consider the open spin-s XXZ quantum spin chain with N sites and general integrable boundary terms for generic values of the bulk anisotropy parameter, and for values of the boundary parameters which satisfy a certain constraint. We derive two sets of Bethe Ansatz equations, and find numerical evidence that together they give the complete set of $(2s+1)^{N}$ eigenvalues of the transfer matrix. For the case s=1, we explicitly determine the Hamiltonian, and find an expression for its eigenvalues in terms of Bethe roots.
