Handedness-filter and Doppler shift of spin waves in ferrimagnetic domain walls

Excitation and propagation of spin waves inside magnetic domain walls has received attention because of their potentials in spintronic and communication applications. Besides wave amplitude and frequency, spin-wave has its third character: handedness, whose manipulation is certainly of interest. We propose in this Letter that the handedness of low energy spin-wave excitations can be controlled by tuning the net angular momentum δs in a ferrimagnetic (FiM) domain wall, attributing to the inequivalent magnetic sublattices. The results indicate that the spin-wave dispersion depends on both δs and wave handedness. For a positive (negative) δs, a gapless dispersion is observed for the left-handed (righ-handed) spin waves, while a frequency gap appears for the right-handed (left-handed) spin waves. Thus a FiM wall could serve as a multifold filter of low energy spin-wave in which only spin waves with particular handedness can propagate. Furthermore, the energy consumption loss for spin-wave excitation in the wall is much lower than that inside the domain, while the group velocity is much faster too, demonstrating the advantages of domain walls serving as spin waveguides. Moreover, the current-induced spin-wave Doppler shift in the FiM wall is also revealed, and can be controlled by δs. This work unveils for the first time the interesting spin-wave dynamics in FiM domain walls, benefiting future spin-wave applications.

Measurement of the D→K−π+π+π−D \to K^-π^+π^+π^- and D→K−π+π0D \to K^-π^+π^0 coherence factors and average strong-phase differences in quantum-correlated DDˉ{D\bar{D}} decays

The decays D→K−π+π+π−D\to K^-π^+π^+π^- and D→K−π+π0D \to K^-π^+π^0 are studied in a sample of quantum-correlated DDˉD\bar{D} pairs produced through the process e+e−→ψ(3770)→DDˉe^+e^- \to ψ(3770) \to D\bar{D}, exploiting a data set collected by the BESIII experiment that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb−1^{-1}. Here DD indicates a quantum superposition of a D0D^0 and a Dˉ0\bar{D}^0 meson. By reconstructing one neutral charm meson in a signal decay, and the other in the same or a different final state, observables are measured that contain information on the coherence factors and average strong-phase differences of each of the signal modes. These parameters are critical inputs in the measurement of the angle γγ of the Unitarity Triangle in B−→DK−B^- \to DK^- decays at the LHCb and Belle II experiments. The coherence factors are determined to be RK3π=0.52−0.10+0.12R_{K3π}=0.52^{+0.12}_{-0.10} and RKππ0=0.78±0.04R_{Kππ^0}=0.78 \pm 0.04, with values for the average strong-phase differences that are δDK3π=(167−19+31)∘δ_D^{K3π}=\left(167^{+31}_{-19}\right)^\circ and δDKππ0=(196−15+14)∘δ_D^{Kππ^0}=\left(196^{+14}_{-15}\right)^\circ, where the uncertainties include both statistical and systematic contributions. The analysis is re-performed in four bins of the phase-space of the D→K−π+π+π−D \to K^-π^+π^+π^- to yield results that will allow for a more sensitive measurement of γγ with this mode, to which the BESIII inputs will contribute an uncertainty of around 6∘^\circ.

Pre-launch characterization of the spectrometer of Hard X-ray Imager (HXI) onboard the ASO-S mission

As one of the three payloads of the Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory (ASO-S), the pre-launch characterization of HXI includes the characterization of the collimator and the spectrometer. This article focuses on the pre-launch characterization of HXI's spectrometer, including detection efficiency, energy resolution, and energy to ADC channel (E-C) relationship. The detection efficiency characterization necessitates a sufficient number of calibrated energy points in the HXI observation energy range, with a refined measurement around the absorption edge of the lanthanum bromide crystal, and is calibrated with an X-ray beam. The characterization results are consistent with the simulations and show that the detection efficiency difference between detector modules is controlled within ±3%\pm3\%. Radioactive sources 133Ba^{133}\textrm{Ba} and 137Cs^{137}\textrm{Cs} are used to calibrate the energy resolution and E-C relationship. The characterization results show that all detector modules' energy resolutions are better than 26%26\% at 32 keV, meeting the design specification. And their E-C relationships vary regularly with voltage. All of the characterization results indicate that the flight model of the HXI spectrometer meets the performance requirements and is capable of performing on-orbit observation activities.

A search for the hadronic decays of the hch_{c} meson to the final states ppˉπ+π−π0p\bar{p}π^{+}π^{-}π^{0}, ppˉηp\bar{p}η, and ppˉπ0p\bar{p}π^0 via the process ψ(3686)→π0hcψ(3686) \to π^{0}{h_c} is performed using (4.48±0.03)×108(4.48\pm0.03)\times10^{8} ψ(3686)ψ(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector. The decay channel hc→ppˉηh_{c}\to p\bar{p}η is observed for the first time with a significance greater than 5σ5σ and a branching fraction of (6.41±1.74±0.53±1.00)×10−4\left( {6.41 \pm 1.74 \pm 0.53 \pm 1.00} \right) \times {10^{ -4}}, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and that from the branching fraction of ψ(3686)→π0hcψ(3686)\toπ^{0}h_{c}. Strong evidence for the decay hc→ppˉπ+π−π0{h_c} \to p\bar{p}{π^+}{π^-}{π^0} is found with a significance of 4.9σ4.9σ and a branching fraction of (3.84±0.83±0.69±0.58)×10−3\left( {3.84 \pm 0.83 \pm0.69} \pm 0.58 \right) \times {10^{ - 3}}. The significances include systematic uncertainties. No clear signal of the decay hc→ppˉπ0h_c\to p\bar{p}π^{0} is found, and an upper limit of 6.59×10−46.59\times 10^{-4} on its branching fraction is set at the 90% confidence level.

Search for the decay hc→π0J/ψh_c\rightarrowπ^0J/ψ

A search for the decay hc→π0J/ψh_c\rightarrowπ^0J/ψ is performed using a sample of hch_c produced in the reaction e+e−→π+π−hce^+e^-\rightarrowπ^+π^-h_c. The data samples were collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.189 and 4.437 GeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 11 fb−1^{-1}. No significant signal is observed. Upper limits on the branching ratio B(hc→π0J/ψ)/B(hc→γηc→γK+K−π0)\mathcal{B}(h_c\rightarrowπ^0J/ψ)/\mathcal{B}(h_c\rightarrowγη_c\rightarrowγK^+K^-π^0) and on the branching fraction B(hc→π0J/ψ)\mathcal{B}(h_c\rightarrowπ^0J/ψ) are determined to be 7.5×10−27.5\times10^{-2} and 4.7×10−44.7\times10^{-4} at 90%90\% confidence level, respectively. The latter is derived from the former using the measured branching fraction of the normalization channel. This is the first determination of the upper limit of the decay hc→π0J/ψh_c\rightarrowπ^0J/ψ.

Spin-wave-driven skyrmion dynamics in ferrimagnets: Effect of net angular momentum

Searching for low-power-consuming and high-efficient methods for well controllable driving of skyrmion motion is one of the most concerned issues for future spintronic applications, raising high concern with an appreciated choice of magnetic media and driving scenario. In this work, we propose a novel scenario of spin wave driven skyrmion motion in a ferrimagnetic (FiM) lattice with the net angular momentum δs. We investigate theoretically the effect of both δs and the circular polarization of spin wave on the skyrmion dynamics. It is revealed that the momentum onto the skyrmion imposed by the excited spin wave can be partitioned into a ferromagnetic term plus an antiferromagnetic term. The ratio of these two terms and consequently the Hall angle of skyrmion motion can be formulated as the functions of δs, demonstrating the key role of δs as an effective control-parameter for the skyrmion motion. Moreover, the spin wave frequency dependent skyrmion motion is discussed, predicting the frequency enhanced skyrmion Hall motion. This work thus represents an essential contribution to understand the skyrmion dynamics in a FiM lattice.

Cross sections for the reactions e+e−→K+K−π+π−(π0)e^+e^-\rightarrow K^+K^-π^+π^-(π^0), K+K−K+K−(π0)K^+K^-K^+K^-(π^0), π+π−π+π−(π0)π^+π^-π^+π^-(π^0), ppˉπ+π−(π0)p\bar{p}π^+π^-(π^0) in the energy region between 3.773 and 4.600 GeV

Using the data samples collected in the energy range from 3.773 to 4.600 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we measure the dressed cross sections as a function of center-of-mass energy for e+e−→K+K−π+π−(π0)e^+e^-\rightarrow K^+K^-π^+π^-(π^0), K+K−K+K−(π0)K^+K^-K^+K^-(π^0), π+π−π+π−(π0)π^+π^-π^+π^-(π^0), and ppˉπ+π−(π0)p\bar{p}π^+π^-(π^0). The cross sections for e+e−→K+K−K+K−π0e^+e^-\rightarrow K^+K^-K^+K^-π^0, ppˉπ+π−(π0)p\bar{p}π^+π^-(π^0) are the first measurements. Cross sections for the other five channels are much more precise than previous results in this energy region. We also search for charmonium and charmonium-like resonances, such as the Y(4230)Y(4230), decaying into the same final states. We find evidence of the ψ(4040)ψ(4040) decaying to π+π−π+π−π0π^+π^-π^+π^-π^0 with a statistical significance of 3.6σ3.6σ. Upper limits are provided for other decays since no clear signals are observed.

Magnon-driven dynamics of frustrated skyrmion in synthetic antiferromagnets: Effect of skyrmion precession

A theoretical study on the interplay of frustrated skyrmion and magnons is useful for revealing new physics and future experiments design. In this work, we investigated the magnon-driven dynamics of frustrated skyrmion in synthetic antiferromagnets, focusing on the effect of skyrmion precession. It is theoretically revealed that the scattering cross section of the injected magnons depends on the skyrmion precession, which in turn effectively modulates the skyrmion Hall motion. Specifically, the Hall angle decreases as the precession speed increases, which is also verified by the atomistic micromagnetic simulations. Moreover, the precession speed and the Hall angle of the frustrated skyrmion depending on the magnon intensity and damping constant are simulated, demonstrating the effective suppression of the Hall motion by the skyrmion precession. This work provides a comprehensive understanding of the magnon-skyrmion scattering in frustrated magnets, benefiting future spintronic and magnonic applications.

Measurement of cross-section for e+e−→Ξ−Ξˉ+e^+e^-\toΞ^-\barΞ^+ near threshold at BESIII

The Born cross-sections and effective form factors for process e+e−→Ξ−Ξˉ+e^+e^-\toΞ^-\barΞ^+ are measured at eight center-of-mass energies between 2.644 and 3.080 GeV, using a total integrated luminosity of 363.9 pb−1^{-1} e+e−e^+e^- collision data collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. After performing a fit to the Born cross-section of e+e−→Ξ−Ξˉ+e^+e^-\toΞ^-\barΞ^+, no significant threshold effect is observed.

Measurement of the e+e−→Σ0Σˉ0e^{+}e^{-}\toΣ^{0}\barΣ^{0} cross sections at center-of-mass energies from 2.38642.3864 to 3.02003.0200 GeV

The Born cross sections of e+e−→Σ0Σˉ0e^{+}e^{-}\to Σ^{0}\barΣ^{0} are measured at center-of-mass energies from 2.38642.3864 to 3.02003.0200 GeV using data samples with an integrated luminosity of 328.5328.5 pb−1^{-1} collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. The analysis makes use of a novel reconstruction method for energies near production threshold, while a single-tag method is employed at other center-of-mass energies. The measured cross sections are consistent with earlier results from BaBar, with a substantially improved precision. The cross-section lineshape can be well described by a perturbative QCD-driven energy function. In addition, the effective form factors of the Σ0Σ^{0} baryon are determined. The results provide precise experimental input for testing various theoretical predictions.

We study ηcη_{\rm c} production at center-of-mass energies s\sqrt{s} from 4.18 to 4.60 GeV in e+e−e^+e^- annihilation data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, corresponding to 7.3 fb−1^{-1} of integrated luminosity. We measure the cross sections of the three different exclusive reactions e+e−→ηcπ+π−π0e^+e^-\rightarrow η_{\rm c}π^+ π^-π^0, e+e−→ηcπ+π−e^+e^- \rightarrow η_{\rm c}π^+ π^-, and e+e−→ηcπ0γe^+e^- \rightarrow η_{\rm c}π^0γ. We find significant ηcη_{\rm c} production in e+e−→ηcπ+π−π0e^+e^-\rightarrow η_{\rm c}π^+ π^-π^0 at s\sqrt{s} of 4.23 GeV and 4.26 GeV and observe a significant energy-dependent Born cross section that we measure to be consistent with the production via the intermediate Y(4260)Y(4260) resonance. In addition, we perform a search for a charmonium-like ZcZ_{\rm c} state close to the DDˉD\bar{D} threshold that decays to ηcπη_{\rm c}π, involving ground state charmonium, and observe no signal. Corresponding upper limits on the cross section of ηcη_{\rm c} and ZcZ_{\rm c} production are provided, where the yields are not found to be significant.

Weak phases and CP-symmetry tests in sequential decays of entangled double-strange baryons

Using a sample of 1.31×1091.31\times10^9 J/ψJ/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector at the electron-positron collider BEPCII, we analyse the full J/ψ→J/ψ\to Ξ−Ξ‾+Ξ^-\overlineΞ^+, Ξ−→Λπ−Ξ^-\to Λπ^-, Λ→pπ−Λ\to pπ^-, Ξ‾+→Λ‾π+\overlineΞ^+\to\overlineΛπ^+, Λ‾→p‾π+\overlineΛ\to\overline{p}π^+ decay chain. A new method, exploiting the fact that the Ξ−Ξ‾+Ξ^-\overlineΞ^+ pair is entangled and sequentially decaying, and where the complete decay chains are reconstructed, is applied for the first time. This enables precision measurements of the decay parameters for the Ξ−→Λπ−Ξ^-\toΛπ^- decay (αΞα_Ξ, ϕΞϕ_Ξ) as well as the Ξ‾+→Λ‾π+\overlineΞ^+\to\overlineΛπ^+ decay (α‾Ξ\overlineα_Ξ, ϕ‾Ξ\overlineϕ_Ξ). From the decay parameters, two independent CP tests were performed, quantified by the observables ACPΞA_{\rm CP}^Ξ and ΔϕΞΔϕ_Ξ. Our results, ACPΞA_{\rm CP}^Ξ = (6.0±13.4±5.6)×10−3(6.0\pm13.4\pm5.6)\times10^{-3} and ΔϕΞ=(−4.8±13.7±2.9)×10−3 radΔϕ_Ξ= (-4.8\pm13.7\pm2.9)\times10^{-3}~{\rm rad}, are consistent with CP symmetry. Furthermore, our method enables a separation of strong and weak Ξ→ΛπΞ\toΛπ decay amplitudes. This results in the first direct measurement of the weak phase difference for any baryon decay. The result is found to be (ξP−ξS)=(1.2±3.4±0.8)×10−2(ξ_{P} - ξ_{S}) = (1.2\pm3.4\pm0.8)\times10^{-2} rad and is one of the most precise tests of CP symmetry for strange baryons. The strong phase difference is measured to be (δP−δS)=(−4.0±3.3±1.7)×10−2(δ_P - δ_S) = (-4.0\pm3.3\pm1.7)\times10^{-2} rad. In addition, we provide an independent measurement of the recently debated ΛΛ decay parameter, αΛ=0.757±0.011±0.008α_Λ = 0.757 \pm 0.011 \pm 0.008 . The ΛΛ‾Λ\overlineΛ asymmetry is measured to be ACPΛ=(−3.7±11.7±9.0)×10−3A_{\rm CP}^Λ = (-3.7\pm11.7\pm9.0)\times10^{-3}.

Our results provide the key inputs for a binned model-independent determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle γ/ϕ3γ/ϕ_3 with BB decays. Using our results, the decay model sensitivity to the γ/ϕ3γ/ϕ_3 measurement is expected to be between 0.7∘^{\circ} and 1.2∘^{\circ}, approximately a factor of three smaller than that achievable with previous measurements. The improved precision of this work ensures that measurements of γ/ϕ3γ/ϕ_3 will not be limited by knowledge of strong phases for the next decade. Furthermore, our results provide critical input for other flavor-physics investigations, including charm mixing, other measurements of CPCP violation, and the measurement of strong-phase parameters for other DD-decay modes.

Dynamics of antiferromagnetic skyrmion in absence and presence of pinning defect

A theoretical study on the dynamics of an antiferromagnetic (AFM) skyrmion is indispensable for revealing the underlying physics and understanding the numerical and experimental observations. In this work, we present a reliable theoretical treatment of the spin current induced motion of an AFM skyrmion in the absence and presence of pinning defect. For an ideal AFM system free of defect, the skyrmion motion velocity as a function of the intrinsic parameters can be derived, based on the concept that the skyrmion profile agrees well with the 360 domain wall formula, leading to an explicit description of the skyrmion dynamics. However, for an AFM lattice containing a defect, the skyrmion can be pinned and the depinning field as a function of damping constant and pinning strength can be described by the Thiele approach. It is revealed that the depinning behavior can be remarkably influenced by the time dependent oscillation of the skyrmion trajectory. The present theory provides a comprehensive scenario for manipulating the dynamics of AFM skyrmion, informative for future spintronic applications based on antiferromagnets.

Erratum to "Measurement of the e+e−→π+π−e^+e^-\toπ^+π^- cross section between 600 and 900 MeV using initial state radiation"

In Phys. Lett. B 753, 629-638 (2016) [arXiv:1507.08188] the BESIII collaboration published a cross section measurement of the process e+e−→π+π−e^+e^-\to π^+ π^- in the energy range between 600 and 900 MeV. In this erratum we report a corrected evaluation of the statistical errors in terms of a fully propagated covariance matrix. The correction also yields a reduced statistical uncertainty for the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, which now reads as aμππ,LO(600−900 MeV)=(368.2±1.5stat±3.3syst)×10−10a_μ^{ππ\mathrm{, LO}}(600 - 900\,\mathrm{MeV}) = (368.2 \pm 1.5_{\rm stat} \pm 3.3_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-10}. The central values of the cross section measurement and of aμππ,LOa_μ^{ππ\mathrm{, LO}}, as well as the systematic uncertainties remain unchanged.

Inclusive charged and neutral particle multiplicity distributions in χcJχ_{cJ} and J/ψJ/ψ decays

Using a sample of 106 million ψ(3686)ψ(3686) decays, ψ(3686)→γχcJ(J=0,1,2)ψ(3686) \to γχ_{cJ} (J = 0, 1, 2) and ψ(3686)→γχcJ,χcJ→γJ/ψψ(3686) \to γχ_{cJ}, χ_{cJ} \to γJ/ψ (J=1,2)(J = 1, 2) events are utilized to study inclusive χcJ→χ_{cJ} \to anything, χcJ→χ_{cJ} \to hadrons, and J/ψ→J/ψ\to anything distributions, including distributions of the number of charged tracks, electromagnetic calorimeter showers, and π0π^0s, and to compare them with distributions obtained from the BESIII Monte Carlo simulation. Information from each Monte Carlo simulated decay event is used to construct matrices connecting the detected distributions to the input predetection "produced" distributions. Assuming these matrices also apply to data, they are used to predict the analogous produced distributions of the decay events. Using these, the charged particle multiplicities are compared with results from MARK I. Further, comparison of the distributions of the number of photons in data with those in Monte Carlo simulation indicates that G-parity conservation should be taken into consideration in the simulation.

Measurement of proton electromagnetic form factors in e+e−→ppˉe^+e^- \to p\bar{p} in the energy region 2.00-3.08 GeV

The process of e+e−→ppˉe^+e^- \rightarrow p\bar{p} is studied at 22 center-of-mass energy points (s\sqrt{s}) from 2.00 to 3.08 GeV, exploiting 688.5~pb−1^{-1} of data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. The Born cross section~(σppˉσ_{p\bar{p}}) of e+e−→ppˉe^+e^- \rightarrow p\bar{p} is measured with the energy-scan technique and it is found to be consistent with previously published data, but with much improved accuracy. In addition, the electromagnetic form-factor ratio (∣GE/GM∣|G_{E}/G_{M}|) and the value of the effective (∣Geff∣|G_{\rm{eff}}|), electric (∣GE∣|G_E|) and magnetic (∣GM∣|G_M|) form factors are measured by studying the helicity angle of the proton at 16 center-of-mass energy points. ∣GE/GM∣|G_{E}/G_{M}| and ∣GM∣|G_M| are determined with high accuracy, providing uncertainties comparable to data in the space-like region, and ∣GE∣|G_E| is measured for the first time. We reach unprecedented accuracy, and precision results in the time-like region provide information to improve our understanding of the proton inner structure and to test theoretical models which depend on non-perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics.

Using 2.93 fb−1^{-1} of e+e−e^{+}e^{-} collision data taken at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII, we measure the branching fractions of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays D→ωππD \to ωππ to be B(D0→ωπ+π−)=(1.33±0.16±0.12)×10−3\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to ωπ^+π^-) = (1.33 \pm 0.16 \pm 0.12)\times 10^{-3} and B(D+→ωπ+π0)=(3.87±0.83±0.25)×10−3\mathcal{B}(D^+ \to ωπ^+π^0) =(3.87 \pm 0.83 \pm 0.25)\times 10^{-3}, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones systematic. The statistical significances are 12.9σ12.9σ and 7.7σ7.7 σ, respectively. The precision of B(D0→ωπ+π−)\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to ωπ^+π^-) is improved by a factor of 2.1 over the CLEO measurement, and B(D+→ωπ+π0)\mathcal{B}(D^+ \to ωπ^+π^0) is measured for the first time. No significant signal of B(D0→ωπ0π0)\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to ωπ^0π^0) is observed, and the upper limit on the branching fraction is B(D0→ωπ0π0)<1.10×10−3\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to ωπ^0π^0) < 1.10 \times 10^{-3} at the 90%90\% confidence level. Measurement of the cross section for e+e−→Ξ−Ξˉ+e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowΞ^{-}\barΞ^{+} and observation of an excited ΞΞ baryon

Using a total of 11.0 fb−1^{-1} of e+e−e^{+}e^{-} collision data with center-of-mass energies between 4.009 GeV and 4.6 GeV and collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, we measure fifteen exclusive cross sections and effective form factors for the process e+e−→Ξ−Ξˉ+e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowΞ^{-}\barΞ^{+} by means of a single baryon-tag method. After performing a fit to the dressed cross section of e+e−→Ξ−Ξˉ+e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowΞ^{-}\barΞ^{+}, no significant ψ(4230)ψ(4230) or ψ(4260)ψ(4260) resonance is observed in the Ξ−Ξˉ+Ξ^{-}\barΞ^{+} final states, and upper limits at the 90\% confidence level on ΓeeBΓ_{ee}\mathcal{B} for the processes ψ(4230)ψ(4230)/ψ(4260)→Ξ−Ξˉ+ψ(4260)\rightarrowΞ^{-}\barΞ^{+} are determined. In addition, an excited ΞΞ baryon at 1820 MeV/c2c^{2} is observed with a statistical significance of 6.2 ∼\sim 6.5σσ by including the systematic uncertainty, and the mass and width are measured to be M=(1825.5±4.7±4.7)M = (1825.5 \pm 4.7 \pm 4.7)~MeV/c2c^{2} and Γ=(17.0±15.0±7.9)Γ= (17.0 \pm 15.0 \pm 7.9)~MeV, which confirms the existence of the JP=32−J^{P}=\frac{3}{2}^{-} state Ξ(1820)Ξ(1820).

Model-independent determination of the relative strong-phase difference between D0D^0 and Dˉ0→KS,L0π+π−\bar{D}^0\rightarrow K^0_{S,L}π^+π^- and its impact on the measurement of the CKM angle γ/ϕ3γ/ϕ_3

Crucial inputs for a variety of CPCP-violation studies can be determined through the analysis of pairs of quantum-entangled neutral DD mesons, which are produced in the decay of the ψ(3770)ψ(3770) resonance. The relative strong-phase parameters between D0D^0 and Dˉ0\bar{D}^0 in the decays D0→KS,L0π+π−D^0\rightarrow K^0_{S,L}π^+π^- are studied using 2.93~fb−1{\rm fb}^{-1} of e+e−e^+e^- annihilation data delivered by the BEPCII collider and collected by the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV. Results are presented in regions of the phase space of the decay. These are the most precise measurements to date of the strong-phase parameters in D→KS,L0π+π−D \to K_{S,L}^0π^+π^- decays. Using these parameters, the associated uncertainty on the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle γ/ϕ3γ/ϕ_3 is expected to be between 0.7∘0.7^\circ and 1.2∘1.2^\circ, for an analysis using the decay B±→DK±B^{\pm}\rightarrow DK^{\pm}, D→KS0π+π−D\rightarrow K^0_Sπ^+π^-, where DD represents a superposition of D0D^0 and D0ˉ\bar{D^0} states. This is a factor of three smaller than that achievable with previous measurements. Furthermore, these results provide valuable input for charm-mixing studies, other measurements of CPCP violation, and the measurement of strong-phase parameters for other DD-decay modes.

Observation of a resonant structure in e+e−→K+K−π0π0e^{+}e^{-} \to K^{+}K^{-}π^{0}π^{0}

The total Born cross sections for the process e+e−→K+K−π0π0e^{+}e^{-} \to K^{+}K^{-}π^{0}π^{0}, as well as the Born cross sections f or the subprocesses e+e−→ϕπ0π0e^{+}e^{-} \to ϕπ^{0}π^{0}, K+(1460)K−K^{+}(1460)K^{-}, K1+(1400)K−K^{+}_{1}(1400)K^{-}, K1+(1270)K−K^{+}_{1}(1270)K^{-} and K∗+(892)K∗−(892)K^{*+}(892)K^{*-}(892), are measured versus the center-of-mass energy. The corresponding results for e+e−→K+K−π0π0e^{+}e^{-} \to K^{+}K^{-}π^{0}π^{0} and ϕπ0π0ϕπ^{0}π^{0} are consistent with those of BaBar and have much improved precision.By analyzing the cross sections for the four subprocesses, K+(1460)K−K^{+}(1460)K^{-}, K1+(1400)K−K^{+}_{1}(1400)K^{-}, K1+(1270)K−K^{+ }_{1}(1270)K^{-} and K∗+K∗−K^{*+}K^{*-}, a structure with mass MM = (2126.5 ±\pm 16.8 ±\pm 12.4)~MeV/c^{2} and width ΓΓ = (106.9 ±\pm 32.1 ±\pm 28.1)~MeV is observed with an overall statistical significance of 6.3 σσ, although with very limited significance in the subprocesses e+e−→K1+(1270)K−e^{+}e^{-} \to K^{+}_{1}(1270)K^{-} and K∗+(892)K∗−(892)K^{*+}(892)K^{*-}(892). The resonant parameters of the observed structure suggest it can be identified with the ϕ(2170)ϕ(2170), thus the results provide valuable input to the internal nature of the ϕ(2170)ϕ(2170).

Observation of a resonant structure in e+e−→ωηe^{+}e^{-} \to ωη and another in e+e−→ωπ0e^{+}e^{-} \to ωπ^{0} at center-of-mass energies between 2.00 and 3.08 GeV

Born cross sections for the processes e+e−→ωηe^+e^- \to ωη and e+e−→ωπ0e^+e^- \to ωπ^{0} have been determined for center-of-mass energies between 2.00 and 3.08 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The results obtained in this work are consistent with previous measurements but with improved precision. Two resonant structures are observed. In the e+e−→ωηe^{+}e^{-} \to ωη cross sections, a resonance with a mass of (2179±21±3)MeV/c2(2179 \pm 21 \pm 3)\text{MeV}/c^2 and a width of (89±28±5)MeV(89 \pm 28 \pm 5)\text{MeV} is observed with a significance of 6.1σσ. Its properties are consistent with the ϕ(2170)ϕ(2170). In the e+e−→ωπ0e^{+}e^{-} \toωπ^{0} cross sections, a resonance denoted Y(2040)Y(2040) is observed with a significance of more than 10σσ. Its mass and width are determined to be (2034±13±9)MeV/c2(2034 \pm 13 \pm 9)\text{MeV}/c^2 and (234±30±25)MeV(234 \pm 30 \pm 25)\text{MeV}, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones are systematic.

We search for J/ψJ/ψ radiative decays into a weakly interacting neutral particle, namely an invisible particle, using the J/ψJ/ψ produced through the process ψ(3686)→π+π−J/ψψ(3686)\toπ^+π^-J/ψ in a data sample of (448.1±2.9)×106(448.1\pm2.9)\times 10^6 ψ(3686)ψ(3686) decays collected by the BESIII detector at BEPCII. No significant signal is observed. Using a modified frequentist method, upper limits on the branching fractions are set under different assumptions of invisible particle masses up to 1.2  GeV/c2\mathrm{\ Ge\kern -0.1em V}/c^2. The upper limit corresponding to an invisible particle with zero mass is 7.0×10−7\times 10^{-7} at the 90\% confidence level.

Study of BESIII Trigger Efficiencies with the 2018 J/ψJ/ψ Data

Using a dedicated data sample taken in 2018 on the J/ψJ/ψ peak, we perform a detailed study of the trigger efficiencies of the BESIII detector. The efficiencies are determined from three representative physics processes, namely Bhabha-scattering, dimuon production and generic hadronic events with charged particles. The combined efficiency of all active triggers approaches 100%100\% in most cases with uncertainties small enough as not to affect most physics analyses.

Rotating magnetic field driven antiferromagnetic domain wall motion: Role of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction

In this work, we study the rotating magnetic field driven domain wall (DW) motion in antiferromagnetic nanowires, using the micromagnetic simulations of the classical Heisenberg spin model. We show that in low frequency region, the rotating field alone could efficiently drive the DW motion even in the absence of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI). In this case, the DW rotates synchronously with the magnetic field, and a stable precession torque is available and drives the DW motion with a steady velocity. In large frequency region, the DW only oscillates around its equilibrium position and cannot propagate. The dependences of the velocity and critical frequency differentiating the two motion modes on several parameters are investigated in details, and the direction of the DW motion can be controlled by modulating the initial phase of the field. Interestingly, a unidirectional DW motion is predicted attributing to the bulk DMI, and the nonzero velocity for high frequency is well explained. Thus, this work does provide useful information for further antiferromagnetic spintronics applications.

Search for the rare decay η′→π0π0π0π0η'\rightarrowπ^{0}π^{0}π^{0}π^{0} at BESIII

Based on a sample of 1.31 billion J/ψJ/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector, we perform a search for the rare decay η′→4π0η'\rightarrow 4π^{0} via J/ψ→γη′J/ψ\rightarrowγη'. No significant η′η' signal is observed in the invariant mass spectrum of 4π0π^{0}. With a Bayesian approach, the upper limit on the branching fraction of η′→4π0η'\rightarrow 4π^{0} is determined to be B(η′→4π0)\mathcal{B}(η'\rightarrow 4π^{0}) <4.94×10−5< 4.94\times10^{-5} at the 90\% confidence level, which is a factor of six smaller than the previous experimental limit.

Ultralow-loss domain wall motion driven by magnetocrystalline anisotropy gradient in antiferromagnetic nanowire

Searching for new methods controlling antiferromagnetic (AFM) domain wall is one of the most important issues for AFM spintronic device operation. In this work, we study theoretically the domain wall motion of an AFM nanowire, driven by the axial anisotropy gradient generated by external electric field, allowing the electro control of AFM domain wall motion in the merit of ultra-low energy loss. The domain wall velocity depending on the anisotropy gradient magnitude and intrinsic material properties is simulated based on the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation and also deduced using the energy dissipation theorem. It is found that the domain wall moves at a nearly constant velocity for small gradient, and accelerates for large gradient due to the enlarged domain wall width. The domain wall mobility is independent of lattice dimension and types of domain wall, while it is enhanced by the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. In addition, the physical mechanism for much faster AFM wall dynamics than ferromagnetic wall dynamics is qualitatively explained. This work unveils a promising strategy for controlling the AFM domain walls, benefiting to future AFM spintronic applications.

Skyrmion crystals in frustrated Shastry-Sutherland magnets

The phase diagrams of the frustrated classical spin model with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction on the Shastry-Sutherland (S-S) lattice are studied by means of Monte Carlo simulation. For ferromagnetic next-nearest-neighboring (J2) interactions, the introduced exchange frustration enhances the effect of the DM interaction, which enlarges the magnetic field-range with the skyrmion lattice phase and increases the skyrmion density. For antiferromagnetic J2 interactions, the so-called 2q phase (two-sublattice skyrmion crystal) and the spin-flop phase are observed in the simulated phase diagram, and their stabilizations are closely dependent on the DM interaction and J2 interaction, respectively. The simulated results are qualitatively explained from the energy landscape, which provides useful information for understanding the intriguing phases in S-S magnets.

Measuring Hawking Radiation of a Kerr-Newman Black Hole in a Superconducting Transmission Line

Applying a dimensional reduction technique and a coordinates transformation approach, we deduce the Kerr-Newman space-time into a Painlevé-like form, and obtain its corresponding event horizon and the Hawking radiation temperature. We find that, the event horizon of a Kerr-Newman black hole can be simulated in a superconducting transmission line. Moreover, by running some numerical simulation, we confirm that the Hawking radiation of a Kerr-Newman Black Hole can be experimentally measured in a superconducting transmission line.

Correlation between Peak Energy and Peak Luminosity in Short Gamma-Ray Bursts

A correlation between the peak luminosity and the peak energy has been found by Yonetoku et al. as Lp∝Ep,i2.0L_{p}\propto E_{p,i}^{2.0} for 11 pre-Swift long gamma-ray bursts. In this study, for a greatly expanded sample of 148 long gamma-ray bursts in the Swift era, we find that the correlation still exists, but most likely with a slightly different power-law index, i.e., Lp∝Ep,i1.7L_{p}\propto E_{p,i} ^{1.7}. In addition, we have collected 17 short gamma-ray bursts with necessary data. It is found that the correlation of Lp∝Ep,i1.7L_{p}\propto E_{p,i} ^{1.7} also exists for this sample of short events. It is argued that the radiation mechanism of both long and short gamma-ray bursts should be similar, i.e., of quasi-thermal origin caused by the photosphere and the dissipation occurring very near the central engine. Some key parameters of the process are constrained. Our results suggest that the radiation process of both long and short bursts may be dominated by thermal emission, rather than the single synchrotron radiation. This might put strong physical constraints on the theoretical models.
